The Villainess A Marked the Seductive Movie Queen - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Differentiation
Liu Yitong watched as the woman’s eyes, once bright and clear, lost their focus. Though Ruan Minxue was looking directly at her, her expression remained dazed; she clearly no longer recognized who was beside her.
Ruan Minxue’s eyes were naturally rounded with thin double eyelids, forming the “peach blossom eyes” that epitomized pure, elegant Chinese beauty. Now, due to her fading consciousness, the woman’s eyelids drooped. The inner corners of her eyes appeared sharper under the shadows of the streetlights, giving her a bewitching, fox-like allure the moment she looked up.
That one glance made Liu Yitong nearly shudder. Her teeth felt weak from the tension; she gritted them for a moment until the sensation passed, then continued to call out:
“Ms. Ruan? Are you… alright?”
Obviously, she was not.
“Hah…”
Even her exhale carried a tremor. The woman tried to push herself up, but her arm gave way. She would have collapsed back onto the pavement if Liu Yitong hadn’t been quick enough to catch her.
The strapless red evening gown didn’t cover Ruan Minxue’s shoulders or arms. In her haste to support her, Liu Yitong’s bare hands gripped the woman’s naked bicep. The skin beneath her palm was delicate and supple; the soft heat radiating from the woman made Liu Yitong tremble.
As the physical distance closed, the previous fragrance became even more pronounced. Only now did Liu Yitong realize that the scent of champagne roses swirling around them was the woman’s pheromones.
Ruan Minxue’s… pheromones?
How was that possible?!
Liu Yitong was in disbelief. Since her debut, Ruan Minxue had always presented herself as a Beta and advocated for equal rights. Given that current laws and social norms protected the rarer Omegas, there was no reason for her to hide it if she truly were one. Furthermore, Alphas and Omegas alike would react to leaking pheromones; even if someone had a motive to fake being a Beta, they would easily be exposed by their biological instincts.
Therefore, Liu Yitong had never considered any possibility other than Ruan Minxue being a Beta.
Until now. For the first time, the girl felt her body reacting to intense pheromones. The gland at the nape of her neck began to tingle; a thread-like itch crawled up her spine and through her nerves, forcibly drawing out Liu Yitong’s own pheromones:
A cold, spicy scent of Hyacinth—aggressive and sharp. Even Liu Yitong felt a faint sting in her nasal passages and skin when she smelled it.
She was certain now: Ruan Minxue was an Omega.
Sweet, cloying rose tangled with the botanical base of hyacinth.
Liu Yitong had never experienced this before—the biological seduction and response encoded in her genes. She shook all over. Even though nothing had happened yet, the sheer pleasure made her scalp go numb.
“What’s that smell?”
“Hmm, are those pheromones?”
“Is an Omega in heat?”
The sounds of commotion began to drift from the surrounding neighbors in the cramped alley. The clatter of doors and windows being thrust open echoed nearby.
The surrounding noise jolted Liu Yitong awake. An Omega in heat would affect every Alpha and Omega in the vicinity. If not handled immediately, it could trigger a localized pheromone storm.
She couldn’t let Ruan Minxue stay here!
“Ms. Ruan, excuse my rudeness.”
Liu Yitong gave a quick warning before reaching out to lift her. However, the woman had lost all reason. With a gentle pull, she slumped limply into Liu Yitong’s arms like a boneless silk doll, unable to stand.
Without time to overthink, Liu Yitong simply swept Ruan Minxue up in a bridal carry. Her Alpha genes granted her a physique that built muscle easily, and years of dance training gave her precise control over every muscle and bone. Lifting a slender actress was not difficult.
What took more effort was suppressing her own impulses.
The woman in her arms was warm and fragrant, making it feel as if she were holding a roll of delicate silk that might drift away with the wind. Every inch of contact made Liu Yitong’s skin itch—an itch that reached her very soul.
She rushed Ruan Minxue into her rented room and laid her on the bed. Panic-stricken, Liu Yitong put on a pheromone-blocking mask, then quickly sealed the doors and windows to slow the leakage.
But the unconscious woman on the bed continued to release pheromones. In the enclosed space, the concentration of Omega scent—designed to trigger Alpha instincts—skyrocketed, roasting Liu Yitong’s remaining logic over an open flame.
No! I can’t!
Liu Yitong used every shred of her willpower to deny herself.
Suppressants!
She immediately thought of using suppressants on Ruan Minxue. Resisting the cloying temptation from the bed, she forced herself to the nightstand and yanked open the drawer. But as she gripped the vials, she suddenly realized:
These were all for Alphas.
Liu Yitong was an Alpha and had never been in a relationship; why would she have Omega suppressants at home?
Liu Yitong had the will to resist, but Ruan Minxue did not.
The Omega on the bed had caught the scent of the Alpha crouching by her side. She didn’t know who she was, nor did she recognize her as a person; she only sensed the primal instinct of an Omega’s longing for an Alpha.
Ruan Minxue sat up on the edge of the bed and reached out, hooking her arms around the girl’s neck and falling into her chest.
The soft, fragrant body climbed up her like a water snake. Liu Yitong’s breath hitched. She braced her arms behind her, tilting her head back as far as possible to avoid drowning in the woman’s gentle trap.
I want to… to her…
A buzzing sound filled Liu Yitong’s ears. She heard a seductive voice coaxing her to follow her instincts, commanding her to surrender to the woman before her.
Why resist? Why bother? You’re holding a gorgeous ghost, a succubus. She needs you, and you like her, you crave her… Why avoid it?
The mutual attraction between an A and an O is the most irrational thing in existence—it is the primal desire of life itself.
But the word “like” in that seductive voice jolted Liu Yitong awake. She raised her wrist, ripped off her mask, and bit down hard on herself.
She was merciless—or perhaps, too full of repressed emotion. Liu Yitong vented all the suppressed desire she didn’t dare unleash on Ruan Minxue onto her own wrist. She bit so deep that the tender skin broke, and blood began to flow.
The sharp pain cleared her mind.
The flowery sweetness of the room was now tinged with the metallic scent of blood. This tainted aroma caused the woman in her arms to gasp deeply, as if surfacing for air.
Liu Yitong saw Ruan Minxue, mere inches away, her pupils fluttering and focusing several times as she struggled to recognize the person in front of her. The woman’s mellow breath brushed against Liu Yitong’s face. The girl’s gland was burning; she hurriedly pulled the mask back over her face as a meager defense.
“Ngh…”
Ruan Minxue let out a pained hum. She sat up from the girl’s arms to create distance, hugging herself. Her unfulfilled body was in pain, trembling minutely.
Her blood-red gown was spread across the cheap tiles of the room. Her shoulders, neck, and cheeks glowed white in the moonlight streaming through the window. Red and white filled Liu Yitong’s vision. Her heavy breathing was muffled by the mask as she stared blankly at the woman.
“I…” Ruan Minxue raised a hand to touch the back of her neck. She looked around the room and made a judgment. “…Abnormal differentiation?”
Abnormal differentiation!
Every high school student was required to take ABO physiology classes, and those who differentiated into A or O were required to pass a test with a score of at least 90. Liu Yitong remembered the lecture: usually, people differentiated during puberty, but there were rare cases of “abnormal differentiation”—too early (being born with glands), too late (differentiating in old age), or other malformations.
Hearing Ruan Minxue’s hesitant self-diagnosis, a dark, secret joy rose in Liu Yitong’s heart: I knew she was an Omega before she did.
“You…”
Ruan Minxue looked up at Liu Yitong again. Her gaze swept over the girl’s long JK skirt and then the bleeding wound on her wrist. She deduced what had happened. She raised a hand to cover her face in distaste and whispered:
“Just a child… what a mess… this is why I hate the AO system.”
She spoke very softly, just a muttered complaint. But in the cramped, quiet room, Liu Yitong heard it clearly. It brought back the memory of her own miserable days after differentiating as an Alpha, and the impact of Ruan Minxue’s words in a past interview:
“…To be honest, I personally mind the loss of control caused by pheromones in the AO system. it seems to turn one’s free will and feelings into pure captives of hormones. Fortunately, I am just a Beta and don’t have such troubles…”
Those smiling words had once given the self-loathing girl the final push toward self-destruction. That pivotal shove had come merely from a distant flick of her crush’s finger.
Her heart ached. Liu Yitong snapped back to reality and adjusted her mask, pressing the seal over her nose even tighter. She didn’t know why she made such a small gesture. Perhaps she was afraid that the Ruan Minxue before her would remember this face and bind it to the image of a “hateful Alpha.”
“Kid,” Ruan Minxue panted, “where’s my phone…”
The evening gown clearly had no pockets. When Liu Yitong found her, there was no phone nearby. Now that she was conscious, Ruan Minxue would want to contact someone or call the police. Liu Yitong moved to lend her her own phone, but before she could, voices drifted in from outside:
“I definitely smelled it, it’s right around here!”
“It’s an Omega in heat for sure! The scent is getting stronger! Where are they?”
“Find them! Find that Omega!”
The sound of frantic footsteps echoed outside the door. Liu Yitong’s heart sank. She realized Ruan Minxue’s “heat” had triggered a commotion among local Alphas, and they were searching for her. Those voices sounded as if they were on the brink of losing their reason.
She couldn’t delay any longer!
Temporary marking!
“Ms. Ruan,” Liu Yitong said urgently, “let me give you a temporary mark!”
Once an Omega in heat fell into a “fever,” they had to rely on an Alpha’s mark to suppress it. Hearing the suggestion, Ruan Minxue glanced at her sideways, her expression darkening. She clearly understood the crisis.
“Kid, do you know the consequences of a temporary mark?” Ruan Minxue asked suddenly.
Consequences?
Liu Yitong faltered, quickly reciting what she had learned in class: “There are no consequences… an Alpha injects pheromones into an Omega’s gland. As long as it’s only a temporary mark, there are no long-term effects on either party! There are many cases of stranger Alphas helping Omegas in heat… it’s like first aid, just an emergency measure…”
“It doesn’t affect strangers because they part ways immediately after,” Ruan Minxue said calmly.
She stopped there, but Liu Yitong understood the unspoken warning: A temporary mark has no long-term effect only if the two people never see each other again. Pheromones injected into the body provide physiological pleasure and, to some extent, affect the emotional judgment of both the A and the O. One can count the “limit” on one hand.
In other words, no more than five temporary marks could cause any pair to fall for each other through pheromones alone. Even enemies could become inseparable lovers.
Ruan Minxue was not a “stranger” to anyone; almost everyone recognized her face. Moreover, Liu Yitong had just blurted out “Ms. Ruan,” proving she knew her. If Liu Yitong were a bad person, a mark would be extremely dangerous. If Liu Yitong used the mark as an excuse to harass her… or if she took advantage of the marking process to force a permanent mark…
At that thought, Liu Yitong looked at the woman. Ruan Minxue said nothing and didn’t move. After her brief reminder, she simply waited for the girl—no rushing, no urging. Only the obvious flush on her cheeks and the rapid rising of her chest betrayed her current suffering. Her eyes, obscured by the backlight, were impossible to read.
Strong emotions surged within Liu Yitong. She felt a pang of pain at Ruan Minxue’s potential wariness, but also a secret relief: the person who found Ruan Minxue wasn’t a bad person, so Ruan Minxue wouldn’t be hurt.
The footsteps outside became more frantic. Liu Yitong stopped overthinking and gathered her courage:
“Ms. Ruan, don’t worry about me taking the chance to permanently mark you! We… won’t do that… so it’s impossible for me to… it’s only temporary…”
What Liu Yitong meant was: a temporary mark only involves the nape of the neck, while a permanent mark involves several organs, including the gland. As long as Ruan Minxue didn’t take off her dress, Liu Yitong couldn’t complete the necessary stimulation.
But once she met Ruan Minxue’s gaze, and once she realized she was inviting her crush of many years to be marked… she felt a sense of base thievery, and feared that this baseness would be seen through by those calm eyes.
She spoke haltingly. Ruan Minxue let out a soft, helpless snort and whispered:
“You really are just a child.”
Liu Yitong didn’t understand what she meant. She stayed silent for a moment, trying to reorganize her words, but Ruan Minxue moved first. The woman turned around, one hand resting on the edge of the bed, the other lifting her curly hair away from her shoulders.
The lustrous, dark curls were lifted like a curtain, revealing the seductive scenery beneath. To Liu Yitong, the woman’s jade-like arm and the skin of her neck merged into one, like the pure snow on a peak that no one had ever seen. The delicate texture shimmered in the light, making the onlooker thirsty, wanting to lean in and take a sip.
The woman said nothing, quietly holding her hair and offering her vulnerable neck. Her neck line was elegant and refined; her posture as she lowered her head was submissive.
It deeply satisfied Liu Yitong’s suppressed Alpha desire for conquest.
Liu Yitong pulled down her mask and leaned forward. She opened her predator’s fangs toward that tender patch of flesh. Before her teeth touched the skin, she whispered a soft breath, seemingly comforting the other while also warning herself:
“Don’t worry. Only this once.”
