The Villain Recognizes the Female Lead as His Master [Transmigration] - Chapter 13
When Chi Jinnian declared that she had taken Yuan Shao as her master, Wei Yang couldn’t help but laugh. This Chi Jinnian was truly something, she’d say anything to get what she wanted! “Your master, huh? Does she even have a Foundation Establishment yet, and you’re calling her master? Later, I’ll introduce you to a couple of truly powerful ones so you can bow to your heart’s content!”
As he spoke, Wei Yang stepped forward again, only to be blocked once more by Chi Jinnian: “She is my master today, and she will be my master for life! Watch your tongue. Just because she’s fallen on hard times now doesn’t mean a true phoenix won’t soar back to the treetops. You can keep your wild pheasants to yourself!”
Wei Yang’s expression instantly darkened. Was Chi Jinnian really getting addicted to this act? Fallen on hard times? And who was responsible for Yuan Shao’s predicament? Did she think he didn’t know? This so-called “master” was nothing but an excuse for her to lurk by Yuan Shao’s side. She was surely just like him, waiting for a chance to dig out Yuan Shao’s golden core and return triumphant! To fabricate such a shameless excuse, her despicable nature hadn’t changed one bit!
Seeing Wei Yang’s patience visibly wearing thin, Chi Jinnian gulped. If it came to a fight, she was clearly no match for him.
But if Wei Yang barged in, Yuan Shao, being the indomitable female lead, would remain unharmed. Once she learned Chi Jinnian’s true identity, coupled with all the previous lies, the nightmare from this morning would become reality!
At that thought, Chi Jinnian’s gaze inadvertently fell on the Qiankun pouch at her waist.
Right, if she remembered correctly, Wei Yang had a fatal weakness…
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you. if you come any closer, you’ll regret it!” With that, Chi Jinnian slipped her fingers into the pouch and fished out a small square box, clutching it tightly in her palm.
“Chi Jinnian, have you run out of tricks? Don’t think I won’t lay a hand on you!”
“Then try it!”
Chi Jinnian’s retort ignited Wei Yang’s fury. Gripping the hilt of his sword, he strode toward the door, as if ready to draw his blade at the slightest provocation, heedless of her status.
But just as he stepped onto the final stair before the entrance, Chi Jinnian swung her arm, releasing a cloud of red powder into the air. It stung Wei Yang’s eyes, followed by a burning pain and an unbearable itch, as if countless ants were crawling over his skin!
“Chi Jinnian, you treacherous wench!” Wei Yang clutched his eyes, frantically scratching his face. He was allergic to pollen, and Chi Jinnian had actually used such an underhanded trick against him!
Chi Jinnian paid him no mind. Seeing Wei Yang blinded and unsteady, she promptly kicked him down the stairs. Watching him tumble three times before writhing on the ground, scratching desperately, she planted her hands on her hips and shouted, “I told you not to come closer! Ever heard the saying ‘heed advice and eat your fill’? My advice? Go home and wash up before you ruin your face beyond recognition!”
Still unsatisfied, Chi Jinnian strode over and delivered another kick.
“That’s for always scaring me!” Finally content, she turned and marched through the gates of Taoyuan.
But as soon as she rounded the corner past the screen wall, she came face-to-face with Yuan Shao, who stood silently by the wall.
“M-Master!” Chi Jinnian was so startled that she dropped her Qiankun pouch. “What are you doing out here?”
“I heard some noise at the door earlier and thought I’d come out to check,” Chi Jinnian said, noticing a faint blush on Yuan Shao’s cheeks, likely from the heat.
“It was nothing, just a fierce black dog I ran into at the door!” Chi Jinnian replied with a bright smile. “But I already chased it away!”
She had just stepped inside when she encountered Yuan Shao standing there. Thankfully, her quick thinking helped her deflect Yuan Shao’s earlier questioning. Seeing Yuan Shao still glancing toward the door, Chi Jinnian quickly stepped in front of her, holding up a Qiankun pouch. “Master, I brought you a gift! Let’s go inside and take a look!”
Without waiting for a response, she naturally looped her arm through Yuan Shao’s and pulled her into the room.
The most remarkable feature of the Qiankun pouch was its ability to hold countless items without bulging. Though Chi Jinnian’s two pouches were small, she managed to pour out an entire table full of bottles and jars.
Like a shop assistant, Chi Jinnian enthusiastically introduced each item to Yuan Shao. “Master, this scented balm is made from peonies and magnolias, you apply it after bathing to keep your skin soft and smooth. This hair oil is infused with osmanthus it makes your hair shiny and silky, like satin. And this one”
Yuan Shao surveyed the array of delicate items, all typical of a young lady’s boudoir in the lower cultivation realm. Though she had heard of such things, she had never used them. “As a cultivator, I have no need for these. You should give them to someone else.”
At these words, the heart-shaped box in Chi Jinnian’s hands nearly slipped from her grasp. Indeed, the female protagonist wasn’t easily swayed, she still didn’t like her. Desperate, Chi Jinnian cradled the small wooden box in her palms and pleaded softly, “This… this is a lip balm made from the finest rose petals, crushed and filtered three times through fine gauze. It smells wonderful, and the color is beautiful.” She lifted her damp eyes to Yuan Shao. “Master, please just try it. It really is, incredibly fragrant.”
The wooden box was small, no larger than a palm. Chi Jinnian held it carefully, her expression faltering as time passed. Just as her trembling hands were about to lower in defeat, Yuan Shao finally spoke.
“I’ve never used such things before, so… how does one apply this?”
In an instant, the light returned to Chi Jinnian’s eyes. “Master, let me show you!”
With a gentle press of her thumb, the heart-shaped box opened, revealing a pale red balm with an intoxicating fragrance. Chi Jinnian dipped her ring finger into the balm and carefully smoothed it onto Yuan Shao’s lips. They said the ring finger was the gentlest of all, her movements were slow and deliberate, tracing the shape of Yuan Shao’s lips with meticulous care before blending it evenly.
As the warm sensation lingered on her lips, Yuan Shao’s gaze settled on Chi Jinnian’s eyes. Her disciple had large, bright almond-shaped eyes. Yuan Shao knew they curved when she smiled, but she hadn’t realized how they looked when she was focused, intently fixed on one spot, pupils shifting slightly with the movement of her hand. They were like clear pools of water, so transparent that nothing else seemed to exist in her world except the task at hand.
Every word Chi Jinnian had spoken at the door had reached her ears clearly.
Indeed, her little disciple had lied to her. The reason her disciple ran out every day was likely the fear that her family would discover her identity. And sure enough, the other party’s family was so adamantly opposed.
Of course, what parent would want their child to enter a master’s tutelage, only to be neglected by the master, learn nothing, and then have to rescue the master when they fell into hardship?
Now, not only was she spending her disciple’s money, but she also had to rely on her disciple for protection.
She truly was the worst master in the world.
At this thought, Yuan Shao couldn’t help but sigh.
“Master?” Chi Jinnian paused her movements and asked cautiously, “Did I hurt you?”
Seeing the guilt on her little disciple’s face, Yuan Shao felt as if something had pricked her heart. “No, keep going.”
As the warm touch returned, delicate fingertips gently caressing her lips, Yuan Shao suddenly felt dazed.
The surroundings darkened in an instant. It was as if she saw herself bound to a bed, with a pair of hands just like these, one cupping her chin while the other forced its way into her mouth, seemingly trying to make her swallow something…
The fingers brushed over her lips, carrying that same familiar warmth.
Yuan Shao strained to see the other person’s face, but it remained a blur.
In the end, everything faded to black, and she collapsed.
