The Villain I Loved Has Broken Free and Transmigrated Out of the Story - Chapter 52
A moment before Yin Ya leaned in for the kiss, she was immensely relieved that she had brushed her teeth.
Determined, she didn’t just brush their lips together; she tried to part Cang Lanyan’s teeth. But in the next instant, Cang Lanyan blocked her path and gently pushed her away.
Yin Ya never imagined that her mustered courage would result in such a fleeting touch.
She stared at Cang Lanyan, stunned and unwilling to accept this rejection. But after a second, she realized she had been too hasty.
How could I act without even talking things through first…?
Just as she was about to apologize, Cang Lanyan lowered her lashes and gazed at her with gentle eyes.
“Yin Ya,” Cang Lanyan said softly, “have you really thought this through this time?”
Her words brought back memories of the questions Yin Ya had asked her in the Dream Realm. Yin Ya immediately averted her gaze.
“I…”
“Merfolk have always been deeply devoted. If you decide, you cannot take it back.” Before Yin Ya could speak, Cang Lanyan continued, “Otherwise…”
“I won’t take it back!” Yin Ya blurted out, raising three fingers in a pledge. “I swear…”
“There’s no need for any oaths.”
The delicate shark silk brushed against her lips with each word. Cang Lanyan leaned down, positioning herself where Yin Ya could easily kiss her, and said, “Meaningless promises are pointless. I only need to see your actions in the future.”
Yin Ya had no choice but to relax her fingers. Under Cang Lanyan’s calm gaze, she wrapped her arms around the woman’s snow-white neck and tilted her face upward to kiss her again.
This morning had been their first kiss, and Yin Ya had thought the second would come much later, at least after she’d had more time to think things through. Yet just a day later, she was again taking the initiative to kiss this bewitching spirit.
And this time, her motive was also to declare her resolve.
Yin Ya had stopped counting how many times she’d declared her resolve. As Cang Lanyan had said, the less she dwelled on meaningless things, the fewer worries she’d have.
It was then that she regretted writing down so many prohibitions.
When it came to kissing, a beginner couldn’t really progress beyond the basics.
Although Cang Lanyan was also a beginner, spirits were naturally skilled in such matters. Even without understanding, this old spirit was more adept than her, perfectly exemplifying the concept of “natural talent.”
Yin Ya also deeply experienced what it meant for the strong to have the “privilege of details.”
For example, she needed to brush her teeth to get rid of the taste in her mouth, yet Cang Lanyan, who had clearly eaten fried dumplings with chives and eggs for dinner, had no trace of bad breath.
Not only that, but Yin Ya even tasted a refreshing sweetness, like she was chewing mint-lime-flavored toothpaste, which made her mood lift. After kissing her, she couldn’t resist leaning in again and nuzzling Cang Lanyan’s ear.
The icy, fish-fin-shaped ear brushed against her skin. She didn’t know where she found the courage, but she followed the movement and pressed her lips to Cang Lanyan’s cheek. Closing her eyes, her fluttering eyelashes even brushed against the “ice-cold” skin that was so close.
“Why so clingy?” Cang Lanyan suddenly spoke, but didn’t pull away.
“You don’t like it?” Yin Ya asked casually.
Cang Lanyan didn’t answer, but in the next moment, Yin Ya felt her legs being lifted. Before she could open her eyes, she felt her body being repositioned.
She instinctively tightened her arms around Cang Lanyan’s neck, then felt something cover her bare feet. Opening her eyes, she saw by the bedside lamp that Cang Lanyan had wrapped her blanket around her feet, probably to keep her warm.
And there she was, sitting on Cang Lanyan’s lap.
Yin Ya’s face flushed crimson. She instinctively tried to shift off, but a hand behind her stopped her, leaving her no escape. She could only look at Cang Lanyan. “Don’t… don’t you feel me?”
“A tiny little hamster? What weight could I possibly feel?” Cang Lanyan lifted her hand, her fingers covered in Shark Silk, and gently pinched Yin Ya’s cheek.
“You were a hedgehog earlier! How did you suddenly become a hamster?!” Yin Ya demanded irritably. “Am I that frail?”
“Not frail, exactly.” Cang Lanyan poked her cheek, her voice tinged with amusement. “I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I suddenly remembered the hamster tribe.”
“What’s wrong with you, you Major Antagonist?” Yin Ya was torn between laughter and exasperation. “First jellyfish, now hamsters? Your mind is full of… overly cute animals!”
“Shouldn’t you be asking Your Excellency the Author?” Cang Lanyan raised her hand, draping a pure white piece of Shark Silk over Yin Ya’s head, letting it fall around her.
Before Yin Ya could respond, she pressed her lips against the silk and placed a cool kiss on Yin Ya’s cheek.
“You? You? You? Stop throwing accusations around!” Yin Ya instantly straightened up, her entire body tensing. “I never emphasized that kind of setting! It was all just a passing mention! You’ve seen it too! It’s… it’s you who awakened!”
“Is that so?” Cang Lanyan rested her chin on Yin Ya’s shoulder, playing with the Shark Silk as she asked with a smile, “May I continue to ‘awaken,’ Your Excellency the Author?”
Feeling the Shark Silk pressed against her neck, Yin Ya startled. Just recently, she’d regretted writing too many prohibitions, but now she wished she’d written even more.
This Old Spirit possessed too many innate passive skills. No matter how many prohibitions Yin Ya wrote, nothing could stop her from doing what she wanted.
“No, no!” Though unsure what would happen, Yin Ya hurriedly stopped her, pulling the Shark Silk off her head and grabbing Cang Lanyan’s wrist, shaking her head repeatedly. “Forget about your period! It’s too painful and unsightly!”
At that moment, she felt an overwhelming gratitude toward her period.
“So Your Excellency has already considered that far ahead?” Cang Lanyan chuckled softly.
Realizing she’d been outwitted again, Yin Ya snapped back to her senses, shooting her a resentful glare.
“So, have you grown to like being tested?” Cang Lanyan asked with a smile.
“…I do understand a little… a little… why you always like testing me,” Yin Ya replied, frowning thoughtfully. “You seem to think you can see through everything about me, but… in certain situations, even you can only stop at my surface, right?”
“That’s true,” Cang Lanyan replied, gently circling her hand around Yin Ya’s back. “That’s why I didn’t mean it as flattery when I said “Your Excellency the Author’s ‘attraction is strong’.”
Just as the God’s initial understanding of her had been limited to various “character traits,” even now she couldn’t fully grasp the God’s thoughts.
Firstly, there was the difference in species. The Human Race operates under a complex and complete set of rules. Humans born and raised under these rules naturally differ greatly from the Merfolk Tribe in every aspect.
Secondly, it stemmed from the God’s uniqueness. Perhaps because the Creator God harbors a special affection for the beings it created, Yin Ya could distinctly feel that the God treats her differently from other humans.
In this world, perhaps only God would treat her like this.
So, she always found ways to test the waters, probing God’s limits and acceptable boundaries from every angle. She never overstepped, only pulling back promptly after receiving feedback to avoid escalating into uncontrollable verbal conflicts.
Yin Ya didn’t know what Cang Lanyan was thinking at that moment, but being praised by the strongest character she’d ever written made her feel quite smug. Feeling good about herself, she nuzzled closer to Cang Lanyan.
She really loved this Old Spirit, even though she couldn’t articulate why. Her instincts told her that today’s confession and declaration of intent had been worth it.
Though she’d felt timid at times, if she hadn’t taken this step, she might still be trapped in the emotional knots Cang Lanyan had called “meaningless.”
Even if indulging her desires could make her reckless, she still believed that seizing the moment was reasonable when the opportunity presented itself.
“Is it just another kiss this time?” Cang Lanyan suddenly asked.
Yin Ya froze, staring blankly for a few seconds before retorting, “What else would it be?”
The moment she finished speaking, Cang Lanyan seized her wrist through the nightgown. In the next instant, she pressed Yin Ya’s hand against her own chest.
The Shark Silk was so thin that Yin Ya could easily feel Cang Lanyan’s violent heartbeat, yet her eyes showed even more astonishment.
What was Cang Lanyan trying to do?
Was she going to confess her feelings? But she had clearly already done so.
“You… need to take responsibility,” Cang Lanyan said, lowering her gaze to look at Yin Ya. “Little clingy thing.”
Yin Ya froze, dumbfounded. It wasn’t until Cang Lanyan pinched her finger and tugged at her neckline that she snapped back to her senses, finally understanding why Cang Lanyan had suddenly called her “clingy” earlier.
She had simply been innocently snuggling with Cang Lanyan, completely oblivious to the physiological state of the Yao Race. Her actions had inadvertently awakened certain desires in this old spirit!
Yin Ya asked incredulously, “You… don’t mean you want me to…”
She couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence and swallowed the rest, nervously watching Cang Lanyan.
But she couldn’t tell anything from Cang Lanyan’s expression. The old spirit muttered something sarcastic, her face not flushing even a little!
“This isn’t the first time you’ve done something like this to me,” Cang Lanyan said leisurely, dredging up old grievances.
“I-I had no idea the jellyfish was connected to you!” Yin Ya nearly lost her composure, exclaiming helplessly. “Rubbing a jellyfish and rubbing you are totally different! You even get mad when I just hug your tail!”
“This time is different from the last,” Cang Lanyan said. “Choose: Should I teach you? You? Or will you… teach yourself?”
“You’ll teach me!” Yin Ya replied without hesitation.
What kind of joke is this?! Even if she wasn’t afraid of Cang Lanyan killing her, the sensation of being slapped into the air by that fish tail, soaring through the air with no ground beneath her feet, was terrifying!
Yin Ya considered herself quite good at calculating risks, but within minutes, she bitterly regretted her impulsive decision.
She had to admit Cang Lanyan’s fish tail was sturdy. After all, in the original story, a single flick of that tail, bolstered by spiritual power, could snap a marble pillar in two.
But she couldn’t understand why Cang Lanyan insisted on ignoring the ample space below her and made Yin Ya sit on her knees—on the “knees” that had transformed back into a fish tail!
“Can’t you just… put me somewhere normal and teach me there?” Yin Ya pleaded, on the verge of collapse.
“You chose this yourself,” Cang Lanyan replied, showing no mercy. “I’m teaching you.” Not only that, she added earnestly, “Just learn. Picking and choosing isn’t a good habit.”
Yin Ya wished she could instantly turn into a hamster and burrow a hole to bury herself.
