The Villain I Loved Has Broken Free and Transmigrated Out of the Story - Chapter 14
The moment the words left her lips, Yin Ya’s mind froze, her body stiffening in place.
This is it! I’m really done for!
“Every day?” Cang Lanyan pressed. “Where do you see me?”
“The computer… desktop…” Yin Ya answered involuntarily, her willpower desperately resisting the Word Magic that threatened to unmask her.
She felt like a fish gasping for air, its struggles fading as it neared death, each breath growing labored.
Unsatisfied, Cang Lanyan traced a cold index finger across Yin Ya’s throat in a dismissive gesture and commanded, “Take me there.”
The Big Villain’s Word Magic was limited to verbal control. Yin Ya finally managed to regain a shred of rationality, hastily stuffed her phone into her pocket, and stumbled toward the bedroom, her heart pounding relentlessly. In this critical moment, her mind urgently rebooted, racing through options.
If she really showed the Big Villain her computer, would the villain smash it on the spot?
Her computer contained three years of university drafts, illustrations, and crucial documents. Losing it would be like losing her life! But if she refused, the Big Villain would definitely kill her!
What could she do? What should she do?
Was there any way to restrict the Big Villain’s actions?
Several thoughts flashed through her mind as Yin Ya reached the bedroom. Behind her, lights clicked on—every light from the entryway, through the living room, and into the bedroom lit up.
Cang Lanyan was right behind her, watching her every move like a ghost.
Gritting her teeth, Yin Ya swiftly removed her shoes and climbed onto the upper bunk.
As she turned and glanced down from the upper bunk, realizing this angle wouldn’t reveal Cang Lanyan’s head, a wild and childish idea popped into her head—
What if I were the Creator God, and every setting I wrote down became true?
Yin Ya quickly pulled her phone from her pocket, unlocked it, opened her writing app, and found the settings document. With the typing speed of a writer who had been at it for twenty-one years, she typed a single line:
“Prohibition: Cang Lanyan is forbidden from killing people or destroying electronics.”
Just as Yin Ya pressed the save button, Cang Lanyan’s icy voice rang out from below: “Don’t even think about escaping.”
“I-I’m not trying to escape!” Yin Ya stammered, hastily locking her phone and tucking it into her pocket. She unplugged all the cables connected to her laptop, cradled the computer in her arms, and began climbing the ladder with painstaking care, terrified of dropping it.
Cang Lanyan glanced at the laptop in her arms. “What is this?”
“A c-computer,” Yin Ya replied, barely steady on her feet and still gasping for breath. She quickly powered on the laptop, trying to placate her. “Just a moment, I’ll show you right away.”
“What are you afraid of?”
The bewitching voice and soul-searching question struck simultaneously. Yin Ya’s mind raced through her worst fears, and just as she was about to blurt them out, the wallpaper featuring Cang Lanyan appeared before her eyes—radiantly beautiful yet utterly ruthless.
All her fears instantly coalesced into one: “I’m afraid you’ll smash my computer!”
Yin Ya met Cang Lanyan’s puzzled gaze and quickly turned the computer screen toward her.
She hated organizing her desktop and found the colorful icons and folders distracting, so she simply hid them all. Now, at a glance, only Cang Lanyan’s portrait remained.
After staring silently at the screen for several seconds, Cang Lanyan finally spoke: “This demon is…”
“It’s you,” Yin Ya blurted out.
Cang Lanyan’s brow furrowed deeply as she reached out to touch her own image on the wallpaper.
Yin Ya’s heart leapt into her throat, terrified that her fingers might pierce the computer screen. With the Big Villain silent, she dared not utter a word, fearing any misstep.
After a long silence, Cang Lanyan finally asked, “Why are you hiding my portrait?”
While Cang Lanyan studied the wallpaper, Yin Ya had mentally prepared several responses. Caught off guard by this unexpected question, she could only stammer, “Ah…”
Cang Lanyan didn’t repeat her question, her amber eyes fixed intently on Yin Ya.
Yet the question left Yin Ya stumped, unsure how to answer.
Strangely, the Big Villain didn’t use Word Magic to force Yin Ya to tell the truth this time. It was unclear whether she wanted to coax more information out of her or let her weave a lie that could be mercilessly exposed later, further undermining her mental defenses.
Yin Ya pondered. The main reason she had set this image as her wallpaper was to see her favorite character every day. The other reason… flashed briefly through her mind, but she found it hard to voice now.
It had once been the inspiration for her writing, but did she still deserve it?
After a moment’s consideration, Yin Ya said, “I hope this will earn your blessing.”
Cang Lanyan’s gaze shifted slightly, her voice turning into a soft, murmuring tide. “Is that truly your wish?”
“Truly,” Yin Ya replied involuntarily, letting out a sigh of relief as if she had survived a calamity.
Thank goodness she had anticipated the Big Villain’s trap! If she had blurted out a random excuse just now, she might be in real trouble by now!
But before she could fully relax, the computer in her hand suddenly lightened as a surge of Spiritual Power swept it across the table, placing it right in front of Cang Lanyan.
“Don’t hide it,” Cang Lanyan warned, her long, slender fingernail pressing against the computer screen.
Yin Ya was all too familiar with this gesture—the Big Villain always started this way before slicing someone’s head off!
The Big Villain was going to destroy the painting!
Before she could stop her, there was a sharp crack as Cang Lanyan’s fingernail slashed across the screen.
“Stop!” Yin Ya shouted, instinctively lunging forward to grab the computer.
Their eyes met. Yin Ya saw Cang Lanyan’s gaze freeze, and the spiritual power holding the computer suddenly released. With a swift motion, Yin Ya snatched the computer back.
Her sudden movement threw her off balance. As soon as she regained possession of the laptop, she stumbled backward, crashing into the bed frame with a short, pained gasp. The impact left her frozen in pain for several seconds.
Forcing through the pain, Yin Ya lowered her head to inspect the screen—only to see the side that Cang Lanyan’s fingernail had slashed.
After a single glance, Yin Ya wondered if she was hallucinating. She quickly flipped open the screen to check. When she saw the perfectly intact display, her eyes widened in disbelief.
Logically, Cang Lanyan’s attack should have shattered the screen, yet it remained completely unscratched.
What’s going on?
Could it be… that the setting she’d hastily written down earlier had actually come true?!
Yin Ya looked up dazedly, meeting Cang Lanyan’s equally disbelieving gaze. Even the Big Villain hadn’t anticipated her defeat.
After a few seconds of staring at each other, Yin Ya suddenly felt her tension melt away, and she couldn’t help but crack a grin.
Perhaps her subtle smile was too noticeable, as Cang Lanyan’s expression darkened further.
“What are you laughing about?” she demanded, instantly closing the distance to loom over Yin Ya, using her height to intimidate.
“I just remembered something happy,” Yin Ya replied casually, a classic line. Realizing she might have gone too far, she still couldn’t suppress her grin, which only widened into a more unrestrained smile.
Being able to restrain the Big Villain with a simple setting change? Who wouldn’t be elated?!
