The Villain Has A Yuri Halo [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 54.1
Qin Peipei had come to see Li Ju so late for no particular reason other than to share some schadenfreude-worthy news. She hadn’t expected to wait so long without seeing a trace of Li Ju.
Sighing heavily, she muttered to herself, “Could my sister have transmigrated or something?”
Being out this late was just too strange.
Qin Peipei didn’t dwell on it. Curious, she tiptoed to peer into the courtyard. It was pitch-black inside, not even a sliver of light coming from the attic.
After waiting in vain for Li Ju, Qin Peipei decided to come back during the day.
The courtyard entrance was now deserted, the tranquil atmosphere befitting the night. Only the night could bring such stillness.
But the bathroom was a different story. The floor was slick with splashed water, and Li Ju stood drenched and disheveled, her figure clearly outlined. The faint crimson stain on her abdomen stood out starkly.
Mu Linglong lay face down in the bathtub, too ashamed to look at her, her eyes darting nervously toward Li Ju’s abdomen.
It’s all Li Ju’s fault, she thought. She made me forget about her injury.
Mu Linglong was consumed by guilt, completely unaware that the “patient” she was so worried about couldn’t care less about the minor wound. In fact, Li Ju was meticulously observing her in the bathtub.
Suddenly, Li Ju moved, removing her upper garment. Her pale skin flushed Mu Linglong’s cheeks crimson, forcing her to quickly avert her gaze.
The rustling sounds of Li Ju undressing drew Mu Linglong’s eyes back for a few furtive glances. But as she watched, Mu Linglong let out a sharp scream.
“Li Ju, what… what are you doing?”
“Taking a bath, of course. Do you bathe with your clothes on?”
Mu Linglong felt dizzy, desperately wanting to sink into the tub. Her eyes had seen everything.
At that moment, Mu Linglong realized it wasn’t the Merman Tears working their magic. Instead, she was overwhelmed by Li Ju’s “candor,” which left her lightheaded, her limbs weak and trembling.
Water spilled over the edge of the tub as Li Ju stepped in.
“Your… your wound.”
“It’s nothing. I won’t die.”
Mu Linglong rolled her eyes in exasperation. “If you could just die, I’d finally have some peace of mind.”
Li Ju teased, “Then your wish is likely to go unfulfilled.”
She approached Mu Linglong from behind, her touch so soft that Mu Linglong’s entire body stiffened.
Mu Linglong remembered nothing that followed. She only knew that, controlled by the Merman Tears, she had lost all agency over her body. Weak and helpless, she leaned against Li Ju’s embrace, her lashes lowered as she endured Li Ju’s whispered words, words that grated on her ears.
“Mu Linglong, when will you let me touch your Mermaid’s Tail?”
“Let’s see if I can make you cry.”
“Tsk, you’re so stubborn.”
Humiliated and furious, Mu Linglong wrapped her arms around Li Ju’s shoulders and bit down hard on her collarbone. She heard Li Ju’s pained gasp, but a moment later, Li Ju retaliated.
“If I can’t touch your Mermaid’s Tail, then I’ll just have to help you undress…”
Li Ju left the sentence unfinished, leaving Mu Linglong to imagine the rest. Her brow furrowed in discomfort, her flushed cheeks radiating a seductive charm. When Li Ju suddenly chuckled softly, Mu Linglong stiffened and clung tightly to her, as if only by holding on could she prevent herself from losing her mind and plunging into the water.
Mu Linglong’s voice choked with emotion. “You damned human!”
She recoiled, shoving Li Ju’s arms away. Mu Linglong slid off Li Ju’s shoulder, determined to escape her embrace even if her body felt utterly drained.
But Li Ju gave her no chance. Tightening her grip around Mu Linglong’s waist, she pulled her back into her arms.
This time, Mu Linglong couldn’t hold back her tears. Li Ju caught the rapidly falling pink gemstone.
“Did I really make you cry?” Li Ju murmured, her voice husky and seductive.
Mu Linglong mustered her last bit of strength and punched Li Ju. “Just die already!” she spat, mortified.
Li Ju’s lips curled into a smile as she tossed the gemstone up and down. Leaning close, she whispered, “There’s an old human saying: ‘Evil men live a thousand years.’ Mu Linglong, killing me won’t be that easy.”
“Don’t give me the chance! You think I won’t kill you eventually?”
A trace of lingering pleasure still flickered in Mu Linglong’s eyes—a natural reaction to Li Ju’s touch. It proved that Mu Linglong had grown accustomed to Li Ju’s intimacy, and that the recent encounter had met with no resistance from her.
Mu Linglong still harbored resentment toward Li Ju, whose actions had only confirmed her preconceived notions about humans.
Li Ju wasn’t the virtuous, kind, and beautiful human Mu Linglong had imagined. Her every word and deed perfectly matched Mu Linglong’s stereotypical view of humanity.
Mu Linglong should have felt disgust or aversion, but she felt neither.
Only a stubborn refusal to accept this reality remained, driving her to resolve to mold Li Ju, that damned human, into the obedient creature she desired.
Thus, the battle between them began.
Li Ju touched Mu Linglong’s flushed cheek, taking her threat as a challenge rather than intimidation. “I believe you will,” she said with a smile.
Her deep eyes held an inscrutable emotion as she clutched the gemstone and stepped out of the bathtub. Her ice-smooth skin and jade-like bones made Mu Linglong avert her gaze.
“Haven’t you seen this before?” Li Ju teased.
“Pervert.”
“Curse me all you want. Enjoy your bath. I’ll give you some privacy and come back for you later.” Li Ju grabbed the bathrobe she had prepared earlier, draped it over herself, and briskly towel-dried her long hair.
Mu Linglong’s strikingly beautiful features glowed with a seductive allure, like a fairy who had just absorbed the essence of the sun and moon.
Her face flushed crimson as she stared at the clothes discarded on the floor. Her hesitant expression prompted Li Ju to speak with feigned understanding, “Don’t worry, I’ll let you leave the bathroom fully dressed.”
Mu Linglong’s impeccable composure, shattered within a single day, erupted into fury. “Get the hell away from me!” she snarled.
Li Ju sighed dramatically. “You can’t wait for me to die, can you? That word is always on your lips. Mu Linglong, you hate me so much.”
“Shouldn’t I hate you?!”
Li Ju paused, then nodded slowly. “Hate is justified. If someone treated me like this, their death anniversary would be next year.”
You still have some self-awareness, Mu Linglong thought bitterly.
Li Ju chuckled at Mu Linglong’s indignation. “But Miss Mu would never do that to me, would she? After all, your reactions tell me you’re enjoying this too.”
Mu Linglong’s face darkened. If she hadn’t been so drained, she would have beaten Li Ju senseless right then and there. Instead, she spat out, “Get the hell out of here now,” her voice flat and cold.
“Okay.” Li Ju decided not to push her luck further. She needed to tend to her own wounds. After all this commotion, her abdomen was so numb with pain she could barely feel it. Otherwise, she would never have let Mu Linglong off so easily.
Mu Linglong couldn’t quite decipher the meaning behind Li Ju’s gaze, but she instinctively sensed ill intent.
Staring at the candle on the table, Mu Linglong puffed out her cheeks. She wouldn’t remain under Li Ju’s control forever.
All that had happened so far was merely an appetizer.
Closing her eyes, she luxuriated in the warm bath. Her slender legs kicked gently a few times, and as a light mist rose, her translucent, veil-like Mermaid’s Tail flickered briefly beneath the surface. The beautiful tail refracted light with a brilliance that rivaled even the most dazzling gemstones.
This transformation was fleeting; Mu Linglong still preferred the familiar sensation of her legs.
The Mermen had long adapted to this environment, which explained why they rarely returned to the sea.
If they hadn’t retained the unique properties of Merman Tears, they might have already forgotten their true nature and embraced humanity entirely.
Half an hour later, Li Ju reappeared, having changed into fresh clothes and let her long hair cascade freely. This new look softened her features, but Mu Linglong suspected the glasses were the real reason for the transformation.
Li Ju hugged her, teasing, “This is my last pair of glasses, Miss Mu. Please don’t lose your temper with them again.”
Mu Linglong curled her lip in boredom, thoroughly enjoying Li Ju’s embrace.
When she threatened me, she called me Mu Linglong; when she wanted to be polite, she called me Miss Mu. This woman had so many tricks up her sleeve!
The bedroom, now bearing traces of their presence, no longer felt lifeless. Even the burning candles seemed less jarring.
“Good night,” Li Ju said.
Mu Linglong remained silent, like a finely carved jade doll.
Li Ju smiled and playfully shook Mu Linglong’s arm, then waved goodbye with her own hand.
“Do you think I want to talk to you?”
“No, I don’t.”
Mu Linglong sneered. “I’m going to sleep now. Don’t bother me.”
“I’ll bring some books from the attic tomorrow. What would you like to read?”
“Bring those few I organized earlier and put them on the desk. And my jewelry box—it’s full of gems. Bring that too.”
Li Ju agreed readily. “Okay.”
Mu Linglong yawned delicately, the faint fragrance of the bedroom filling her nostrils. To be honest, so much had happened tonight that she was utterly exhausted.
Before Li Ju could even move away, Mu Linglong had already drifted off to sleep.
Her peaceful sleeping face prompted Li Ju to gently stroke her hair.
Li Ju froze, realizing her unconscious gesture. Her expression darkened as she lowered her gaze and withdrew her hand.
The bedroom was lit only by the soft glow of candlelight, no natural light penetrating the underground chamber.
Mu Linglong spent her first night in the basement.
