The Vampire Tycoon Secretly Loves Me - Chapter 8
“If you want to die, crawl somewhere far away. Don’t dirty his eyes.” Yin Chen showed no mercy, not even sparing Wang De a single glance.
“Ugh—” Wang De slumped on the ground as fresh blood welled from his mouth once more. His eyes were unfocused. “Cough, cough… save me…” He struggled to move his body, lifting his head to look at Yin Ste. His adrenaline was surging violently, leaving his body feeling utterly numb.
Yin Ste stood to the side, casting a cold, fleeting glance at Wang De without saying a word.
Since this incident had occurred, Sun Mao had already sent people to cordon off the area in advance; not a single bystander dared to stick around to watch the excitement.
Yin Chen turned his head, looking at Yin Ste, who stood nearby, and asked coldly, “Why are you here?”
Yin Ste instantly withdrew his gaze. He harbored a certain fear of Yin Chen and hurriedly replied, “Originally, a friend introduced me to this project of President Wang’s. I thought it suited you, Brother, but then I felt I didn’t truly know his background. I wasn’t at ease, so I followed along to take a look.”
As he spoke, he put on a guilty expression. “I didn’t expect things to go wrong. It’s my fault for not investigating thoroughly before approaching you, Brother.”
Yin Ste lowered his head as if prepared to wait for punishment. However, with his pitifully beautiful appearance, it was difficult for anyone to find the heart to blame him.
Unfortunately, this tactic did not work on Yin Chen. His face remained grim until he felt the person in his arms move; only then did his expression soften.
“So hot…” Ye Linghan murmured. He didn’t know what kind of drug had been slipped into the wine, but he felt an unbearable dry heat spreading through his entire body. He scrambled with his hands and feet to pull off his clothes, but because his body was limp, he couldn’t exert any strength.
Since there was an outsider present, Yin Chen had no choice but to pin Ye Linghan’s wrists with one hand while lightly pressing down on his collar with the other to prevent his smooth skin from being exposed.
“Mm—” Ye Linghan frowned, clearly dissatisfied. “Why won’t you let me take off my clothes!” His voice carried a hint of a sob.
“Be good. We’ll take them off when we get back,” Yin Chen coaxed softly.
His internal possessiveness took over, leaving no room for rebuttal.
Ye Linghan’s fair, clean face was flushed red, his eyes were hazy, and his thin lips were slightly parted. The skin stretching from his neck to his collarbone was also tinged with a seductive crimson, making the unhealed bite marks appear even more prominent.
Yin Chen’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he suppressed the desires surging in his heart.
“Brother, let me help him.” After hesitating for a long time, Yin Ste offered his services, thinking he could atone for his mistake by taking care of Ye Linghan.
Hearing this, Yin Chen did not let go. Instead, he looked at Yin Ste with cold eyes and asked back, “How exactly do you plan to help?”
“I…” Yin Ste had feared Yin Chen since childhood. Growing up under Yin Chen’s powerful pressure, he had become even more cautious in his words and actions. Faced with the counter-question, he didn’t know how to respond.
Yin Chen turned his head to look at the dying Wang De curled on the ground. He withdrew one hand, and a pale golden beam of light suddenly appeared in his palm. The light seemed to possess a life of its own, following Yin Chen’s command to drag Wang De through the air. Then, Yin Chen’s fingers tightened, gripping Wang De’s throat firmly.
Yin Chen asked coldly, “Speak. What kind of drug did you use?”
A “crackling” sound came from Wang De’s throat, and his face turned purple from the lack of air.
Yin Chen eased his grip appropriately.
“I… I’ll talk, cough… cough—” Wang De’s breathing was uneven, making his speech intermittent. He struggled to raise his hand to grab Yin Chen’s arm, trying to lessen the force strangling him.
“Cough, cough—” Wang De panted heavily. “It’s CLY-20. In ordinary people, it causes hallucinations and acts as an aphrodisiac. I originally wanted to…”
Yin Chen’s fingertips suddenly exerted force.
“Ugh…” Before Wang De could finish his sentence, his neck suddenly snapped backward. He instantly lost breath and collapsed unconscious in Yin Chen’s grip.
“Brother, this!” Yin Ste took several steps back, clearly terrified, covering his mouth in a daze.
Yin Chen didn’t care at all. He released his hand.
With a “thud,” Wang De hit the ground like a pile of limp mud.
Yin Chen leaned down and picked Ye Linghan up in a horizontal carry. Yin Ste hurriedly followed behind him.
Just then, Yin Chen’s assistant, Sun Mao, rushed over. He happened to witness this scene and stood frozen in place, terrified. “Boss, this, this…” He looked at Wang De on the ground and then at Yin Chen, not knowing what to do.
No one had told him he’d walk right into a murder scene—and naturally, he would be the one expected to clean it up.
“Investigate this matter thoroughly.” After leaving those words, Yin Chen tilted his head. “Also, you don’t need to follow.”
After saying this to Yin Ste, he turned and left, leaving the witness Yin Ste and the bewildered Sun Mao to stare at each other.
“What… what’s the situation?”
Yin Ste shrugged. “It’s a long story…”
On the way back, Yin Chen’s expression was solemn. Given his strength, it wasn’t enough to kill Wang De, and since Wang De was a regional manager with a certain status, killing him wouldn’t bring any benefits.
The person in his arms was moving restlessly. He shifted his hold on Ye Linghan to keep him from falling. Although Ye Linghan wasn’t short, he felt feather-light in Yin Chen’s arms.
As Yin Chen approached the guest room, he caught a glimpse of a sliver of light leaking from the door crack. His eyes narrowed. He switched to holding Ye Linghan with one arm and used the other to call Sun Mao.
“Hello. Come back and clear the room.”
“Huh?” Sun Mao didn’t have time to react before Yin Chen hung up without an explanation.
Listening to the busy signal on the phone, Sun Mao looked bitter. What was with today? Everything was so fragmented. But he didn’t dare disobey his boss. Leaving Wang De’s situation unresolved, he hurried to Yin Chen’s room.
When he arrived, Sun Mao had his hands on his hips, feeling as though his lungs were about to burst from running. He asked Yin Chen breathlessly, “Boss, what happened?”
“Someone is in the room.”
“What?” Sun Mao, who was already struggling for breath, let out a squeak. Someone in the room? How was that possible?
The people staying on the hotel’s top floor were all rich, noble, or influential. Who would have the guts to cause trouble here?
At this moment, he only hoped Yin Chen would be merciful and not blame him for this oversight.
Ignoring everything else, he pushed the door open. Sure enough, the bedroom door was tightly shut, and light was streaming through the crack.
“Who is in—” Just as Sun Mao was about to ask who was inside, a red electric current shot out, heading straight for the door. Then, with a loud “Bang,” the door shattered.
Sun Mao felt his heart stop for a few seconds. He subconsciously took half a step back.
His boss always started with “zero-frame” attacks. They were vampires—immortal—but he was just a mere mortal with elderly parents and young children to support. His heart couldn’t take this kind of stimulation.
The moment the door broke, a small crying sound came from the room. “Wooo, please don’t kill us.”
Sun Mao forced himself to stay calm and hurried forward to check. He saw a teenage boy and a girl sitting naked on the bedroom bed.
Sun Mao had never seen such a scene. At first glance, he slammed on the brakes, covering his eyes. He then did a 180-degree turn, nearly bumping into Yin Chen as the latter walked over.
“Boss, don’t look!” Sun Mao waved his hands frantically while covering his eyes. “See no evil, see no evil.”
“Making a fuss over nothing.”
Yin Chen walked into the room with long strides. In that brief interval, the teenagers had already used the quilt to cover themselves, but they were still shivering uncontrollably, mumbling for Yin Chen not to kill them.
“Who… who are you?” Sun Mao edged closer to Yin Chen and asked. After all, he couldn’t let his boss handle such trivial matters.
“It’s, it’s us. Our father sent us here,” the boy said tremblingly.
Judging by his appearance, the boy was older than the girl and stood in front of her. The girl behind him kept her head down, wiping away tears with the back of her hand as she sobbed.
Once Sun Mao saw from between his fingers that they were covered, he lowered his hand and asked sternly, “Who is your father?”
This was too much. No matter who the father was, they couldn’t just stuff people into the boss’s bedroom. How much courage did that take? Unless it was the boss’s own father sending children over, the boss’s temper meant the perpetrator would definitely face consequences.
The young boy was clearly terrified by the cold aura radiating from Yin Chen. His body shook. “It’s… It’s Wang De.”
“Wang De?” Sun Mao’s voice cracked again.
Then it was over. It was truly over. That father had effectively played himself into having no descendants.
Sun Mao’s heart was in his throat. Although Wang De deserved what was coming, the children were innocent. He stole a glance at Yin Chen; sure enough, his face was shadowed, looking even more terrifying than before.
Sun Mao’s Adam’s apple rolled as he swallowed nervously, fearing for the two children. They looked to be only eleven or twelve years old, yet their own father had sent them to someone else’s bed.
Sun Mao’s brain worked at high speed, and a sudden idea struck him. He turned around with a forced smile. “Um… Boss, why don’t I get you a change of rooms? I’ll handle the rest.”
What else could he do? He was just a guy getting paid to do a job. Only if the boss was in a good mood would things go well for him.
“Fine.” Because he was worried about Ye Linghan, Yin Chen didn’t care to argue and turned to walk out.
“Phew~” Sun Mao breathed a sigh of relief. Indeed, beauty is a dangerous distraction.
Yin Chen arrived at the new bedroom and placed Ye Linghan on the bed. He removed the blood-stained shirt. Seeing blood on the snowy-white neck made Yin Chen feel as though he had been drugged himself; a dry heat rose in his chest.
In a moment of daze, Yin Chen suddenly felt a weight on his neck. His arm lost strength, and he was pulled down by Ye Linghan, who caught him off guard.
Because Yin Chen’s body was very cold, Ye Linghan clung to him with both hands and feet, murmuring, “Mm… so cool and comfortable.” He opened his hazy eyes, looking at the close-up of Yin Chen, and whispered in his ear, “And, you smell so good.”
Yin Chen looked down at Ye Linghan, struggling to suppress the turbulent waves in his heart. He tried to pull him off, but Ye Linghan held on tight, and for a moment, he couldn’t succeed.
Yin Chen rubbed his forehead helplessly. “Ye Linghan, don’t push your luck. Let go.”
Ye Linghan frowned, the corners of his eyes turning red. When he spoke, it was with a sob. “You’re being mean to me…”
“I—I am not!” Yin Chen didn’t think his tone was that harsh, but seeing Ye Linghan like this for the first time made him lose his composure.
Yin Chen’s thin lips parted slightly as his Adam’s apple bobbed. Finally, he gritted his teeth, pulled Ye Linghan off him, and turned to go into the bathroom.
Icy cold water poured over his head, cooling his fire. Ye Linghan’s blood type just happened to suit his taste—what on earth was he thinking?
In a life where he lived on the edge and could die at any moment, he didn’t want Ye Linghan to get involved, yet he couldn’t control his heart every time.
Even Yin Chen, who could dominate any situation, was forever at a loss when facing the battle between reality and his inner feelings.
Click— The bathroom door was pushed open. Ye Linghan walked in with staggering steps and a hazy gaze. “Why are you here?”
“You…” Before Yin Chen could speak, Ye Linghan attached himself to him like a poultice. Startled, Yin Chen hurriedly reached out to turn the water to warm.
Ye Linghan had lost his senses; every move he made was to satisfy his own needs. He reached out to hug Yin Chen’s neck. Because of the height difference, Ye Linghan had to stand on his tiptoes. His nose rubbed back and forth against Yin Chen’s neck, seemingly seeking comfort.
Yin Chen was at his wits’ end from the flirting. Fearing Ye Linghan would slip in the wet bathroom, he had to wrap an arm around Ye Linghan’s slender waist. He whispered in Ye Linghan’s ear, “You forced me to do this.”
He hadn’t helped earlier because Wang De’s target from the start was himself; therefore, the small dose of the drug wouldn’t harm Ye Linghan.
But he knew deep down that Ye Linghan’s feelings for him were not ordinary. He didn’t want Ye Linghan to sink too deep and be unable to extricate himself. He didn’t know when he had started fearing that he might let him down.
Only this time, looking at the person in his arms, desire once again triumphed over reality.
His fangs pierced the thin skin on the side of Ye Linghan’s neck. This time, he bit a bit harder. Blood mixed with the water, flowing down the smooth, delicate skin and pooling on the floor like a crimson painting.
“Mm… it hurts…” Ye Linghan whimpered in pain, weakly thumping Yin Chen’s chest. But it was too late; he had started this fire himself, and now he had to be the one to extinguish it.
Ye Linghan felt wronged in his heart. He was already uncomfortable, and combined with the things Wang De had said, the drug-induced haze caused him to pour everything out.
“You jerk… you’ve kept me locked up for so long without any status, and every time you bite me so hard. I don’t want to follow you anymore!” Ye Linghan sobbed out his accusations.
Yin Chen froze slightly upon hearing this. His fangs withdrew from Ye Linghan’s skin. The coldness in his eyes was replaced by a hint of hurt and disbelief. He looked down at the person in his arms and murmured, “Have I… not been good to you all this time?”
The sound of the water splashing against the tiles was very loud. Ye Linghan didn’t hear what Yin Chen said. It seemed some of the drug had left his system through the blood loss, and he became calmer, eventually falling into a deep sleep in Yin Chen’s arms.
Yin Chen finished cleaning Ye Linghan and carried him to the bed. Then, he called Sun Mao. “Find out everything Wang De and Ye Linghan said to each other.”
“Yes.”
“Also, if a single word of what happened today leaks out, you can pack your bags and leave.”
“Understood.”
On the other end of the line, Sun Mao stood at the scene of the “crime,” staring blankly at his phone, wanting to cry but having no tears.
