The True Heiress And The Fake Heiress Ended Up Together - Chapter 3
The sound of high heels striking the tile floor was sharp and clear.
This person was walking in a rush, making it obvious that it was not Mrs. Qin.
Mrs. Qin would never allow herself to be so ill-mannered, so it could only be the little aunt.
Jian Ying’an followed the sound with her eyes, her gaze shifting.
The little aunt, Qin Wen, was a microcosm of the Qin family.
Selfish, focused on profit over family affection, she had made life difficult for Jian Ying’an in the previous life but was endlessly indulgent towards Qin Mianmian.
It made sense; Qin Mianmian was connected to the Qin family’s interests.
Furthermore, Qin Wen had maintained six years of affection for Mianmian. In short, for various reasons, Qin Wen was eager to drive Jian Ying’an away.
Jian Ying’an gave a cold, scornful smile as she looked at Qin Wen.
In this family, she seemed particularly useless, just a beautiful waste.
Yet, she was genuinely good-looking.
Qin Wen was wearing a red dress, her makeup bright, and her black long hair draped over her shoulders. The moment she walked in, she possessed a beauty that was intimidating, pressuring those who saw her.
As someone from the well-off Qin family, Qin Wen naturally exuded nobility, arrogance, and rudeness.
She walked in, her eyes quickly sweeping over Jian Ying’an in the main hall.
Dressed in rags, was this truly the long-lost daughter of the Qin family?
Qin Wen showed a look of disgust.
A brainless idiot, Jian Ying’an cursed inwardly.
A beautiful waste is a beautiful waste. This assessment hadn’t changed for over a decade.
When Jian Ying’an had crippled the Qin family, even Qin Xing would put up some resistance, but this person was utterly useless and was even dumped by her husband’s family.
It was ridiculous. Even Jian Ying’an couldn’t help but think how the Qin family could produce such a waste.
All those years of raising her for nothing.
This beautiful waste was now looking at her critically, scrutinizing her from head to toe, finally concluding that she was insignificant.
Raised by a lowly nanny, what could she possibly know? And she wants to compete with Mianmian?
In the Qin family, there is only one daughter: Qin Mianmian!
Her eyes flickered. After sensing Jian Ying’an posed no competition, she casually tucked the stray hair near her cheeks behind her ear, then went back to admiring her freshly done manicure.
She completely disregarded Jian Ying’an.
A moment later, Qin Wen lowered her hand and said to Mianmian, “Don’t just approach strangers. She’s covered in dirt.”
This was something Jian Ying’an hadn’t heard in her previous life. She narrowed her eyes, already planning how to retaliate.
She hated being taken advantage of the most.
She’d heard that Qin Wen had fiercely pursued the eldest young master of the Mu family.
Jian Ying’an scoffed, just about to use that point to warn Qin Wen—
Qin Mianmian suddenly rushed forward and shielded her.
Jian Ying’an was stunned. She looked at Qin Mianmian’s back, the words she was about to speak caught in her throat.
What is Mianmian doing?
She heard Qin Mianmian defending her.
“She’s not a stranger! Aunt Zhang even spoke to her!”
Aunt Zhang was the maid who felt sorry for Jian Ying’an.
Seeing Aunt Zhang speak to her, Qin Mianmian let go of the slight suspicion in her heart and came downstairs to show goodwill toward Jian Ying’an.
Too naive.
So naive that Jian Ying’an didn’t know what to say.
She could only stand there blankly.
It was the first time someone had defended her.
A wave of warmth filled her heart. Jian Ying’an’s throat constricted, unable to speak. She pressed her hand to her chest.
The complex feeling was utterly foreign yet deeply comforting. Qin Mianmian was like a little sun, emitting light that Jian Ying’an could only stare at.
She really likes me…
Qin Wen frowned. “Aunt Zhang?”
The Qin family has such an incompetent servant? I’ll notify the butler to fire her right away!
Qin Wen didn’t take it seriously. Feeling a little tired of standing, she walked over in her high heels and sat on the sofa.
She beckoned for Qin Mianmian to join her.
Qin Mianmian didn’t budge. She wanted to stay with Jian Ying’an.
Jian Ying’an snapped out of her myriad emotions. She gave a little push, telling Qin Mianmian to go and that she didn’t need to stay with her.
It’s tiring to stand.
Who knew that when Qin Mianmian was pushed, she simply hardened her heart and pulled Jian Ying’an along with her.
She sat down on the sofa, patted the seat with her small hand, and enthusiastically invited, “Come, sit next to me!”
Jian Ying’an sat down, receiving a bright smile from Qin Mianmian.
She smiled back.
Qin Wen was dumbfounded. “Mianmian, how could you let her sit down? She’s so dirty! The cleaning fee for the sofa is very expensive!”
As she spoke, she immediately stood up from the sofa, even dusting off non-existent dirt from her body.
Qin Wen was about to lecture her ignorant niece, but as she opened her mouth, she met Jian Ying’an’s icy stare.
That look… how to describe it… it was very much like Mr. Qin.
Cold eyes, conveying a silent authority, an invisible pressure, and an imposing presence.
Qin Wen felt she was going crazy, otherwise, how could she see this on a six-year-old child?
Mr. Qin had cultivated that air of ferocity from decades in the business world, and even she, his sister, felt intimidated by it. But this child was only six!
In that instant, Qin Wen suddenly thought, She truly is the Qin family’s biological daughter.
The thought was unstoppable, and Qin Wen actually shivered uncontrollably.
She found it unbelievable. As a member of the Qin family, who at any banquet wouldn’t give her respect, who would dare to disrespect her? But a casual glance from Jian Ying’an actually made her feel awkward.
She felt looked down upon.
After giving the useless Qin Wen a warning, Jian Ying’an began to coax Qin Mianmian, “It’s okay, I don’t need to sit. The sofa cleaning fee is very expensive.”
She said this, but made no move to stand up.
Qin Mianmian took the bait as she wished. “It’s not expensive! I’ll pay with my allowance! Sit down!”
Jian Ying’an: “Mhm, alright.”
So easy to coax. Why had she thought Qin Mianmian was manipulative in her past life?
It felt truly wonderful to be protected by this innocent child.
Qin Wen stood where she was, feeling a bit humiliated.
With the two children sitting side-by-side, it was awkward for her to sit down again or to stand. So useless, she thought, no wonder Jian Ying’an looks down on me.
Qin Wen started wishing the Qin couple would return sooner.
This is your biological daughter! Come back and control her!
Qin Mianmian ignored the little aunt whom she had called for six years. “Are you hungry? I have some snacks in my room. Let’s go eat them together.”
She’s gone mad! Qin Mianmian was actually planning to invite this dirty child to her room!
Qin Wen shouted, “What are you thinking?”
This is the Qin couple’s biological daughter by blood. She threatens your current position! How can you be so defenseless?
Qin Wen really wanted to pull Qin Mianmian aside and teach her. What you should be doing is driving Jian Ying’an out!
For a major family like the Qin’s, one more person means one less piece of meat on the table.
Qin Mianmian was not related to the Qin family by blood. All her advantages came from the Qin couple’s affection.
What Qin Mianmian should be doing is meticulously currying favor with the Qin couple.
Not being so kind to the returning Jian Ying’an!
There’s absolutely no benefit in doing this!
Qin Wen frowned fiercely, speaking to Qin Mianmian with extreme severity. “You cannot take her into your room!”
This is letting the wolf into the house! Qin Wen gritted her teeth.
She had been so good to Qin Mianmian for six whole years, and Qin Mianmian was ignoring her all because of Jian Ying’an!
We are supposed to be on the same side!
Qin Mianmian was frightened by her little aunt’s intensity.
Her eyes welled up, her mouth pouted, and she was on the verge of tears. Qin Mianmian accused in a soft voice, “You are so fierce.”
Like a big witch.
Little Aunt wasn’t like this before.
Qin Wen was speechless.
After a long pause, she sneered, but her mood was anything but calm. Qin Mianmian’s words, “You are so fierce,” echoed in her ears, making her feel irritable and prone to anger.
Fierce? I’m just trying to advise you!
Qin Wen glared at Jian Ying’an, her face sinking, feeling extreme displeasure toward this child who had suddenly appeared. She felt as though Jian Ying’an was watching a show.
By comparison, Qin Mianmian was cuter, but she was becoming harder to control.
This is all because of Jian Ying’an!
Jian Ying’an was indeed watching a show, and doing so openly.
She was so amused by Qin Mianmian that she couldn’t stop smiling. Noticing Qin Wen looking over, she raised an eyebrow, a hint of provocation in her expression.
She completely disregarded Qin Wen.
When facing Qin Wen, she didn’t even bother to pretend.
Qin Wen snapped, “Your brother will be angry when he gets back!”
Qin Mianmian retorted, “Dad won’t be!”
Jian Ying’an stopped smiling. She lowered her gaze, thinking, Mr. Qin really will be.
When the couple returned and saw Jian Ying’an hadn’t even cleaned herself up, their faces would turn as black as ink.
The smell of sour sweat from clothes she’d worn for who knows how long and not having bathed for days would make them immediately cover their noses.
It was clearly the servants who had neglected the newly arrived Jian Ying’an, but they didn’t care. They only wanted to throw her out.
On second thought, the servants’ neglect was actually carried out by the butler’s instruction from them.
Now that she was reborn, Jian Ying’an didn’t care about the couple’s feelings.
She looked to her side.
But she did care a little about Qin Mianmian…
Qin Wen wasn’t wrong. She was a dirty child right now.
Yet, this dirty child, whom she had just met, was affectionately holding her hand and had stood up to Qin Wen for her.
Though the way she stood up was kind of adorable and made it hard to be mad.
Jian Ying’an started to worry about her appearance.
She tugged at Qin Mianmian and, presuming the child’s affection for her, boldly made a request. “I want to take a shower. Can you take me?”
Qin Mianmian didn’t think much of it. “Okay~”
“I have lots of little dresses in my room. They’ll definitely suit you!”
With that, she happily bypassed Qin Wen and led Jian Ying’an upstairs to the second floor.
Jian Ying’an looked back and saw Qin Wen’s face contorted in anger. She smiled smugly at Qin Wen, and as expected, the beautiful waste became even angrier.
So angry she stomped her feet.
Qin Mianmian ignored the little aunt she’d called for six years. “Are you hungry? I have snacks. Let’s go eat them together.”
Qin Mianmian’s room was entirely pink. The walls, the ceiling, and even the carpet were a lovely, youthful pink. Jian Ying’an nearly suffocated.
She was surrounded by pink. Save me!
Jian Ying’an stepped on the soft carpet and watched Qin Mianmian rummage through drawers, finally pulling out a dress similar to the one she was wearing.
Jian Ying’an: “…”
She was very uncomfortable.
Qin Mianmian excitedly hugged the small dress. “I’ll go shower with you!”
She stood amidst the piles of clothes, practically drowning in lace. Qin Mianmian lifted her small, tender feet, struggling to free herself and nearly tripping. Jian Ying’an quickly steadied her.
She took the dress from her hands. “No need, I can go by myself.”
Qin Mianmian looked a little disappointed. “Then I’ll take you there.”
Jian Ying’an: “I can find it.”
She had lived in the Qin house for over ten years; she could certainly find it.
Jian Ying’an walked out of Qin Mianmian’s room. She leaned against the door, letting out a long sigh.
Qin Mianmian’s room was packed. The bed and floor were piled high with stuffed toys, there was a wall-sized wardrobe, and small decorations were everywhere.
It was a stark contrast to her own empty room.
Vibrant, soft Qin Mianmian.
Jian Ying’an hugged the small dress, tears welling up in her eyes.
A while later, she took the dress and walked towards the room she had lived in during her previous life. She found the bathroom and began to shower, washing for a long time, scrubbing so hard her skin was red, before finally putting on the pink, lace-trimmed dress.
It’s so complicated to wear, Jian Ying’an tugged at the hem.
In the room, Qin Mianmian had laid out the snacks.
Surrounded by the aroma of baking, various cakes and bread were displayed, large and small, a dazzling array, all looking soft and delicious.
Qin Mianmian held back from eating. She tried hard to restrain herself.
These were all for sharing with her new friend.
This new friend was strange.
Surrounded by a strong sense of loneliness, her expression was cold, and she looked very difficult to get along with.
But when she smiled, her whole being brightened. The moment she looked over, Qin Mianmian was completely mesmerized. Her beauty was evident even through her frail figure, and her clear, black eyes formed a sea of ink that drew Qin Mianmian in.
Qin Mianmian thought for a long time.
She is even more beloved than the small flower I planted and carefully tended to in the yard.
Qin Mianmian swung her feet and looked up at the door.
Why is she still not done?
Finally unable to wait, she stood up from the stool and wandered around the room, planning to give her new friend a gift—snacks weren’t enough.
She looked around and was drawn to the small wind chimes hanging on the wall.
The transparent glass quietly reflected colorful light, and a cloth strip hanging from it was embroidered with her name.
This was a gift the Qin couple bought for her during a trip abroad.
It would be perfect to give to her new friend.
The wind chimes were hung high. Qin Mianmian stretched her arms but couldn’t reach them. Her fingers brushed the cloth strip, causing a slight sway and a crisp, pleasant sound from the chimes.
But she still couldn’t reach it.
Qin Mianmian stared up with her big eyes. Suddenly, a figure overshadowed her, and Qin Mianmian looked back.
It was Jian Ying’an, who had returned after her shower.
She was wearing the small dress Qin Mianmian had picked out. The contrast between her mature aura and the dreamy little dress was striking, and she was still beautiful enough to keep Qin Mianmian’s eyes fixed on her.
Jian Ying’an dragged a chair over. Being six years old again, she didn’t have a height advantage, and due to malnutrition, she was slightly shorter than Qin Mianmian.
She stepped onto the chair and took down the wind chimes for Qin Mianmian.
Jian Ying’an handed it to her. “What are you going to do with the wind chimes?”
Qin Mianmian blinked, her lashes fluttering, showing an indescribable innocence and cuteness.
She looked at Jian Ying’an innocently. “I’m giving it to you!”
Jian Ying’an: “…”
