The True Heiress And The Fake Heiress Ended Up Together - Chapter 13
Madam Qin looked at her son’s badly red and swollen face, but she showed no emotion, simply observing him.
It made it impossible for anyone to guess her thoughts.
Time passed minute by minute, and the living room was deathly quiet. Qin Xing stood there, finding the silence unbearable, not daring to make a sound.
After a long while, Madam Qin frowned: “What are you standing around for? Go get an ice compress to reduce the swelling?”
The servants, as if waking from a dream, nervously ran off to prepare the ice compress.
Madam Qin’s expression sank, displeased with the current state of the Qin family. She didn’t say it out loud, but through Qin Xing, she saw the shadow left by Jian Ying’an.
How did she manage to strike?
To deliver those two slaps in front of all the servants, regardless of the consequences.
This was truly bold and fearless. Madam Qin stood up, ready to leave, her back conveying a mix of disappointment with Qin Xing and anger, which caused Qin Xing to involuntarily call out: “Mom.”
The sound made Madam Qin stop.
She did not continue walking, but paused to listen to Qin Xing speak.
In this household, aside from Qin Mianmian, only his mother would spare a little patience to listen to him. Qin Xing’s voice was rough: “Is Jian Ying’an truly my older sister?”
After asking, he unconsciously lowered his head.
Then what does that make Qin Mianmian?
The stinging pain on his face and a burning ball of fire in his chest wouldn’t stop.
His eyes were confused. He didn’t know what to do next, hoping Madam Qin could guide him to the right path, instead of him wandering around the house like a headless fly.
When Jian Ying’an hit him, no one stopped her.
Why? Was he wrong? Did he deserve the beating?
This was too complex for a five-year-old to figure out. He began to spiral into a corner of thought.
Madam Qin was decisive and never wasted time dwelling on such matters. While she didn’t mind giving Mianmian some tenderness, she couldn’t offer Qin Xing good advice.
That would only raise a good-for-nothing.
Madam Qin turned around, looking at Qin Xing’s small frame, standing rigidly, stubbornly, and arrogantly.
This was the Qin family’s young master.
He was the Qin family’s future heir…
He was only five years old, and still had a long road ahead and much to learn. None of this was something Madam Qin could accomplish for him.
Facing the child’s question, she spoke: “Yes.”
“Jian Ying’an is your older sister.”
Watching Qin Xing widen his eyes, Madam Qin continued heartlessly: “She was swapped, raised by a nanny, and never attended kindergarten, yet in every aspect, she is far superior to you, Qin Xing.”
Madam Qin’s gaze landed on Qin Xing’s face. The servant had already brought the towel and was about to use it to reduce the young master’s swelling.
But some things are facts that an ice compress cannot conceal.
Qin Xing could not be allowed to continue in comfort, or the Qin family’s heir would have to be replaced.
Madam Qin said: “I will arrange a tutor for you so you won’t have the time to think about these things. Rest well tonight.”
This time, Madam Qin walked straight away, regardless of the fact that the child was only five years old.
The Qin family was filled with an oppressive atmosphere, suffocating people.
There was no room for childhood dreams; they would be relentlessly shattered by the Qin couple, more sobering than Jian Ying’an’s slap.
Qin Xing hadn’t fully reacted yet. He only knew that Jian Ying’an was his older sister, and she was far more capable than him, earning praise even from his strict mother.
An incomparably outstanding person.
Qin Xing clenched his fists, stubbornly thinking that he would study hard with the tutor and absolutely would not lose to Jian Ying’an!
He wouldn’t give his sister to Jian Ying’an; he wouldn’t call Jian Ying’an his sister!
Ultimately, Madam Qin taught him nothing.
Madam Qin went straight to the study, and it was false to say she wasn’t angry.
But she was even angrier at Mr. Qin.
He was hiding in the study, ignoring the commotion downstairs! Madam Qin pushed with both hands, and the heavy wooden door swung open. She strode up to the desk.
It was piled with countless contracts and information about land plots up for auction soon. Every contract bore a string of numbers, reaching eight digits.
“What are you thinking! The children were fighting downstairs!”
Hearing this, Mr. Qin lifted his head, and beneath his glasses were even colder, more impersonal eyes.
His first thought was that a fight had broken out, which was utterly disgraceful.
His second thought was, why was Madam Qin yelling at him?
“Who started it?”
Mr. Qin only cared about this question.
Mianmian couldn’t possibly hit anyone; she was raised to be too gentle and well-mannered, the Qin family’s daughter who could bring honor and praise to the family at banquets.
As for Qin Xing, he was a bit unreasonable, but he was a boy, so it was normal.
That left only Jian Ying’an.
Mr. Qin took a deep breath, getting a headache over this child; she was too much trouble.
Perhaps she should be sent to another city, far away from the Qin family, out of sight, out of mind.
Madam Qin stared coldly at Mr. Qin: “I’m going to find a tutor for Qin Xing. Arrange an assistant from the company to come over.”
Mr. Qin was stunned.
Assigning an assistant from the company was a minor matter, but Qin Xing was only five years old, wasn’t he?
