I don’t know how long they stayed like that. Not only their lips and tongues, not only their faces and necks, but their whole bodies were flushed, and just as they began to feel the heat, a refreshing breeze blew on their faces, causing them to open their eyes.

The two, who had been sharing a passionate kiss, their lips slick with saliva they hadn’t managed to swallow, finally snapped back to their senses. Kyler, noticing Sasha’s attempt to pull away, instead cupped her cheeks with both hands.

Before her eyes could even open after their lips parted, he busied himself with something, and then something soft touched her lips.

Opening her eyes, she saw him taking out a handkerchief and wiping the corners of her mouth.

He had a habit of studying his disheveled appearance in the mirror after they were in bed, so he must have been concerned because they were outdoors.

To think that such a wonderful man is mine. I absolutely don’t want the other young ladies to know. He’s already the object of so much envy with his aloof demeanor, if they knew he was such a sweet man, how much more would they covet him?

In the same vein, I hope His Majesty the Emperor hurries up and wins back the Empress’s heart.

“What if he only wants my body, he’s so good to me.”

Sasha playfully smirked and met his eyes. Kyler frowned and chuckled at her words. He must have realized she was teasing him.

“How did we end up like this? I can’t seem to get a grip.”

Kyler gave her cheek a gentle squeeze with a troubled smile. He couldn’t help but smile at the feel of her smooth, firm cheek.

“Kyler was very passionate in expressing his feelings for me. Did you say everything you had to say for the whole year today?”

Sasha asked with a playful tone, his lips remained upturned, and he couldn’t take his eyes off her.

“Thank you so much. I know exactly how you feel about me. I’m definitely the happiest woman in the world right now.”

To show that her words were true, Sasha smiled as brightly as she could. I hope this smile looks really pretty to him.

“What? what good fortune is this? To meet you. I must have lived such a hard life before.”

Of course, the Sasha who suffered here has disappeared somewhere, and I’ve taken her place but I haven’t lived an easy life either. As compensation, this man seems too amazing, though.

“I thought my life would also pass by buried in scars, but it changed after I met you. It feels like you’re caressing each and every one of those wounds.”

He gently smoothed her slightly disheveled hair and grinned.

“And you made me say everything I had to say for the whole year all at once.”

His playful smile was so captivating it was almost bewitching. Sasha, facing it head-on, felt her heart pounding painfully. Wow, he’s like an idol. Tens of thousands of Muggles would have been hit by a car because of that smile, and tens of thousands of stans would have died a stan death.

His smile was so amazing that the words she had forgotten about in her shock came flooding back to her.

“So, just thank you. Thank you for so much, for so many things.”

Even if I said it three times a day, it still wouldn’t be enough. She remembered him saying that she could enjoy her freedom as long as it didn’t tarnish the name of the Ignote Duchy.

That was  the same as giving her freedom, so even now, when she thought about it, it felt like she had been granted freedom.

“Ah! Kyler came here to work, wasn’t I holding you back too much?”

Suddenly, reality snapped back into focus. Sasha carefully wriggled out from under him, cooled her slightly flushed cheeks with the back of her hand, and sat next to him. She heard him chuckle softly at her again.

“We started with a story about monsters so we should see it as an extension of work.”

Really, who could say that this man is a cold, emotionless man? She couldn’t get used to the sweet Kyler, and her face turned red.

“Well, it seems like you’ve provided a very good clue. Someone who can communicate with monsters as far as I know, even Geranel, who is called a monster user, couldn’t do that.”

Ah! I hadn’t thought about this part.

Sasha looked up at him, but his eyes were firm.

“Why? There won’t be anyone like me again. What if the monsters really had something to say to me? What if I could really understand what the monsters are trying to say? Then wouldn’t a lot of things change? Maybe we’ll know how to never ‘create’ them again without having to defeat them.”

He didn’t think Sasha’s words were wrong.

Of course, she was right. If the monsters really wanted to tell her something, it would be something they wanted to tell humans, and it felt like it would be information or reconciliation rather than fighting or bickering.

Even though she didn’t seem to understand it at all this time, if she could understand it that would mean the possibility of dialogue, so they might be able to find out the secret of monster creation, which had been shrouded in mystery.

It’s not guaranteed that it’s a way to eliminate monsters from this land, but you need to know the cause to find a solution.

A very important key was in her hand. And she was cheerfully offering to hand him the key.

“I can’t accept what you’re giving me right now. Because I can’t take risks with you.”

Kyler held her hand tightly. It was as if he was holding everything in her hand at once.

Sasha didn’t throw a tantrum. She felt like she knew what he was saying.

He wasn’t ignoring her. Rather, he wanted to cherish her. He was the one who had set out to subjugate monsters because of the guilt of not being able to protect Sasha, so it was right for him to react this way.

Trying to have a conversation was no different from putting her completely in front of the monsters.

His voice became slightly mournful. Hearing that, Sasha couldn’t help but smile.

Sasha answered with a slightly lighter heart because of his helpless words. He knows how much I want to help him, and even that I want to be helpful to him even if I get hurt a little.

But I had to accept the reason why he had to refuse in the end. Making him suffer is not the love I should do.

“Okay, then go and work. I’ll clean up here.”

“That won’t do. Shouldn’t I be by your side to protect you?”

He said that because he wanted her to do her job and come, but when she heard it, it was true. Another monster might suddenly appear and crash into the ground while he was gone.

“Um, okay. Then I’ll clean up quickly and we’ll go out together.”

Only then did Kyler smile with satisfaction, slightly raising the corners of his lips.
