The Stand-In Alpha Goes Viral on a Dating Show - Chapter 49
“So… is it my turn now?”
Chi Wan asked in a daze. She still hadn’t recovered from the shock of earlier, but in An Ran’s eyes, her hesitation looked more like she still hadn’t seen enough—and wanted to keep looking.
“Chi Wan! We only just confirmed our relationship. If you keep this up, I’ll get angry!”
She couldn’t help but remind her. On one hand, An Ran felt a thrill—after all, Chi Wan’s eagerness to get closer was proof she genuinely liked her. But on the other hand, it left her troubled. Everything was happening too fast. That mix of sweetness and fear was almost unbearable.
“I… what did I do?” Chi Wan tilted her head, honestly puzzled.
But An Ran was convinced she was pretending to be clueless. Her chest rose and fell with anger as she pressed her lips together, refusing to answer.
From behind, Chi Wan poked her shoulder, confused at why she had suddenly gotten upset.
An Ran didn’t turn around, just twisted her body slightly to shake off Chi Wan’s fingers. But that annoying fingertip kept tapping lightly, refusing to retreat.
“An Ran, what’s wrong?”
Chi Wan furrowed her brows and asked softly.
“Just… get changed first.”
An Ran drew in a deep breath. Thinking about the crowd waiting outside, she no longer had the patience to explain.
“Alright.”
Chi Wan also felt now wasn’t the time to argue. She quickly stripped off her dress, then removed her bra and panties.
The click of the clasp echoed softly, making An Ran’s ears twitch. Her mind instantly filled with images she shouldn’t have been imagining.
What kind of lingerie was Chi Wan wearing? What color?
The rustle of fabric against skin made her snap back to her senses. She smacked her forehead in frustration, silently scolding herself for thinking such indecent thoughts. She’d been accusing Chi Wan of being too forward, but wasn’t she the same?
Maybe… this was what Chi Wan had meant by “irresistible feelings.”
In that moment, she felt as though she finally understood her.
At first, Chi Wan was a little self-conscious about undressing with An Ran in the same small space. But then she thought: With An Ran’s personality, she’d never sneak a peek. Relieved, she changed more boldly.
Once she was dressed again, a mischievous thought crossed her mind—why not make a little noise, just to see if An Ran would look back?
With that, she leaned back slightly, bumping against the wall with a soft thud.
“Ugh!” A faint groan slipped from her lips.
An Ran’s ears perked immediately. She spun around in panic, only for Chi Wan to quickly clutch her chest and feign distress.
The instant An Ran turned, she realized her mistake. Too late, she squeezed her eyes shut.
So when Chi Wan looked up, all she saw was a girl standing before her with tightly closed eyes.
“Chi Wan, are you alright?”
An Ran’s voice wavered with worry.
“I’ll live. My chest just hurts a little.”
The corners of Chi Wan’s lips curled as she stepped closer.
“Your chest? Not your back?”
Because she had closed her eyes so quickly, An Ran hadn’t seen where she had bumped. Without thinking, she raised her hand to feel for the spot.
Instead, her fingers landed on something soft and warm. She froze.
Why was Chi Wan standing so close? Close enough that a casual reach had landed her hand there?
Where exactly was she touching? Had Chi Wan put on her top yet?
A dozen frantic questions spun through her head.
“It’s my chest. You touched it just now, didn’t you? Didn’t it feel soft? Shouldn’t you take responsibility?”
Taking advantage of her closed eyes, Chi Wan laced their fingers together, teasing mercilessly.
At the words “soft” and “responsibility,” An Ran’s fingertips trembled. She could almost still feel that slippery warmth lingering on her skin. Had she really… touched that?
Her face flared scarlet in an instant.
“I… I…” Her lips trembled. “I didn’t mean to.”
“I know it was an accident. But you did touch me. If you don’t believe it, you could always… touch again.”
Chi Wan leaned close, blowing softly against the sensitive curve of her ear.
As she spoke, she even tried to guide An Ran’s hand back toward her chest.
An Ran nearly jumped out of her skin. Her eyelids fluttered, ready to open, but the thought that Chi Wan might still be half-dressed made her keep them shut. She could only stammer out a refusal:
“N-no… no need.”
Her nerves were wound so tight that tears welled up at the corners of her eyes.
“Is that so…? Alright then.”
Chi Wan sighed in mock disappointment, finally letting go. She knew when to stop, and truthfully, seeing An Ran’s flustered, pitiful expression, she couldn’t bear to push further.
The moment Chi Wan released her, An Ran spun away, exhaling a long, shaky breath.
But soon, a soft warmth pressed against her back, making her body stiffen.
“Relax. I’m already dressed. Let’s go.”
Chi Wan swung the changing room door open. But the second she stepped out, she was met with a cluster of prying eyes. Some were even pressed against the door, clearly eavesdropping.
“Hey! You two weren’t just fooling around in there, were you?”
Someone immediately teased, eyes glittering with excitement.
“No. You’re imagining things.”
Chi Wan waved dismissively.
“Impossible! We all heard noises. Faint, but those bumps against the wall? Crystal clear!”
Unwilling to give up, one even blocked her path. “Come on, admit it. It won’t kill you.”
“Please. We didn’t do anything, so what’s there to admit?”
Chi Wan brushed him aside, finally guiding An Ran out.
Behind them, the man still shouted gleefully, “I know I heard something! You can’t hide it!”
“Does he have a screw loose?” Chi Wan muttered under her breath. “And a pretty bad case, too.”
An Ran let out a soft laugh, but her gaze drifted to Chi Wan’s outfit: a black bikini with a sheer dark cover-up draped over it. The fabric only accentuated the porcelain glow of her exposed legs and added an almost dangerous allure.
“You shouldn’t wear that. They’ll all be staring at you.”
Her eyes darkened, jealousy rising like a tide. She wanted nothing more than to convince Chi Wan to change.
She regretted not looking earlier in the dressing room—she should have made her switch then and there!
“Please enjoy some free time for now. Later, we’ll begin a competition. The winner will receive a special privilege.”
Chu Rou’s voice rang out, deliberately mysterious.
But everyone immediately guessed—it must be related to tonight’s Heartbeat messages.
Or perhaps, tomorrow morning’s new round of couple announcements.
