- Chapter 34.2 - How Could You Bite There?
Chi Wan had all but given up hope when, to her surprise, An Ran actually let go—releasing the collarbone she had bitten into so hard it bore her teeth marks.
“Finally! I’m almost touched, you know,” Chi Wan muttered under her breath. “An Ran, deep down, you really can’t bear to hurt me, can you?”
The system watched her over-the-top performance in silence, already anticipating the slap in the face to come.
Sure enough, before Chi Wan could finish her little speech, a fresh stab of pain lanced through her chest—so sharp her eyes watered instantly.
“An… An Ran! How could you bite there! You’re not a baby!”
Chi Wan was nearly hysterical, while the system squealed with laughter.
【Just pretend she’s your baby for now!】
Chi Wan: “…”
On the verge of tears, Chi Wan whispered accusingly into An Ran’s ear:
“Look at what you’ve done! You actually bit me there! And worse—you still haven’t sent me the ‘heartbeat text’ you owe me!”
So mad. She was so, so mad!
Resigning herself to her fate, Chi Wan vowed to settle accounts later and turned her attention outward, listening closely to the sounds outside.
The storage closet was well-hidden, impossible to notice at a glance, but the soundproofing was mediocre.
“Of course it’s you!” Qu Huan’s voice trembled as she faced Mo Wei, her legs shaking with fear.
“So what if it is?” Mo Wei arched a brow, utterly unconcerned.
“Despicable!” Qu Huan spat.
“With a coward like you, you think you’re worthy of Mingyu? If An Ran hadn’t stumbled in by accident, I would have made sure you were utterly humiliated.”
Mo Wei stepped forward, and Qu Huan instinctively stepped back. The hallway lights flickered, adding an eerie tension.
“And speaking of An Ran—where is she?” Mo Wei glanced behind at Gu Lin, and at Tang Qian who was following a few steps behind.
“I think Shi Yi went after her,” Tang Qian said hesitantly.
“Relax. I won’t lay a hand on you while you’re conscious.” Mo Wei stopped in front of Qu Huan, looking down with predatory amusement. After savoring her terrified expression, she finally turned away, satisfied. “Already cried?
Pathetic.”
Gu Lin walked past without a glance, while Tang Qian cast her a sympathetic look—though only that.
Qu Huan thought it was over and almost breathed a sigh of relief—until Mo Wei suddenly turned back. A prickling instinct told her something was wrong.
“What is it?” Gu Lin also doubled back.
Mo Wei thought for a long while, but couldn’t pinpoint the feeling. Finally she shrugged. “Maybe… I just don’t feel like letting her off so easily.”
“Then don’t,” Gu Lin said coolly, eyes half-lidded. “Do whatever you want. Or tell me—I can handle it for you.”
Tang Qian muttered under her breath, “Bootlicker.”
But sincere or not, the effect was immediate. Mo Wei had always treated Gu Lin like a disposable tool, but now, for the first time, she regarded her with faint interest. “You like me that much?”
“She’s—” Tang Qian, realizing the situation wasn’t in her favor, blurted out, ready to undermine her. She likes your status and money!
But the moment the words reached her lips, she froze. She’d be implicating herself too if she said that aloud!
“Oh? Why’d you stop? She’s what?” Mo Wei asked, intrigued, while Gu Lin watched her with a faint, knowing smile.
“She’s…” Tang Qian’s mind raced for an excuse. Then, catching sight of Qu Huan, she seized on it. “Maybe she has some grudge against Qu Huan.”
“Well, I hadn’t thought of that.” Mo Wei feigned sudden realization and turned to Gu Lin. “Is that true?”
“Of course not. We were engaged once, but back then I wasn’t well-known, and her family looked down on me.”
Gu Lin said it plainly, finding Mo Wei’s response oddly unsurprised. Honesty seemed better than pretending otherwise.
Qu Huan, however, stiffened in shock. “You were my fiancé? Why didn’t I know about it?!”
“Now this is getting interesting.” Mo Wei’s eyes lit with amusement as she watched them, eager for the drama.
“And you? When did you find out?” She turned to Tang Qian, eyeing her with new suspicion.
“Me? I didn’t know either! I just guessed!” Tang Qian was flustered, but when she noticed the way Mo Wei was looking at her—thoughtful, almost impressed—her heart leapt. Seizing the moment, she said, “I’ve been pursuing you. Of course I want to know as much as possible about my rival in love.”
“Sounds like you really do like me.” Mo Wei smirked.
“Of course. I’ve confessed to you so many times. You finally believe me now?” Tang Qian rushed to press her advantage.
Meanwhile, just a thin wall away, Chi Wan was losing her mind. An Ran still had her mouth latched onto that place. Staring down at the outline beneath her dress, Chi Wan muttered to the system: Hey, what if I just take An Ran’s underwear off now, and when she wakes up, I tell her she pulled it off herself? Would that work?
【Pfft—What?! What are you even thinking?!】
What? It’s unfair! She’s biting and pawing at me—I can’t just let her get away with it!
【No way. Don’t even think about it!】
【Wait—where are your hands?! Put that back right now!】
The system hadn’t expected Chi Wan to actually make a move. In the cramped space, her hand brushed dangerously close to forbidden edges.
【One more move and I’ll shock you!】
That threat finally worked. Chi Wan hesitated, then reluctantly withdrew her hand.
“Make sure it’s on tight, alright? Don’t let it just slip off!” she muttered.
【Underwear has elastic. It won’t just fall off!】
But she’s skinny!
【Still impossible—unless she bought the wrong size.】
That made Chi Wan pause. Hey, system, can’t you use x-ray vision to check the size tag? Probably the smallest, right?
【…I don’t have that function. And stop trying to turn me into a pervert!】
Chi Wan pouted. So useless. Can’t even do one little thing.
Grumbling at the system, she slowly extended her finger again, carefully hooking upward. But in such a tight space, every tiny movement meant unbearable friction.
Just that small shift had sweat beading on her forehead, her fingertips slick with perspiration.
【Are you done yet?!】 The system was practically panicking.
It’s your fault for making me second-guess in the first place.
At last, Chi Wan managed to restore things to their original state. She was about to pull her hand back when Gu Lin’s blunt confession reached her ears. Wait, what? Gu Lin and Qu Huan had a thing?
And Qu Huan didn’t even know?!
And what the hell is Mo Wei planning to do to Qu Huan?
Tension gnawed at her. Nervous, her fingertips curled—her nails catching on An Ran’s delicate skin.
An Ran gasped sharply and clamped her legs shut. The sudden force trapped Chi Wan’s hand so tightly she nearly saw stars.
Worst of all, her hand wouldn’t budge.
“Open your legs,” she hissed into An Ran’s ear, brows furrowed. But the more she pleaded, the harder the pressure grew.
【Try the opposite—tell her to squeeze tighter.】
Are you insane?! That’s even worse!
【And sneaking off with her panties was better?!】
Chi Wan was frantic. She didn’t dare yank too hard, afraid of drawing attention from those outside. In this situation, no excuse in the world could save her.
Meanwhile, outside, chaos was brewing. It sounded like a fight had broken out, crashes echoing through the hallway.
If someone slammed into this door, she’d be doomed.
【Ding! Based on the host’s current panic, an emergency mission has been triggered!】
【Complete one unspeakable play, and you’ll receive assistance!】
