- The Silly Immortal Lord Comes Down to Overcome His Tribulation
- Chapter 6 - A Sudden Variable
Bai Mo took a small sip. The wine was smooth, not harsh on the throat, and had a rich, rounded texture with hints of fruit. As expected, when you don’t know what the best choice is, picking the most expensive one is never a bad idea. It was quite good.
He took another sip before calmly saying, “The speed at which you change girlfriends is faster than changing clothes. Watch out for diseases.”
“Damn, don’t curse me. I use protection. You should hurry up and find someone to end your virginity too.”
Bai Mo gestured for Song Yu to look at a woman by the bar who was throwing flirtatious glances at him. “Do you think she’s pretty?”
Song Yu assessed her for a moment. “Her face and figure are both decent. An intellectual beauty. Do you want to get to know her?”
Bai Mo shook his head. “No thanks. Her face isn’t even half as good-looking as mine. If I wanted to look at a face, I might as well just look in the mirror.”
“Heh~ At your standards, you’ll be lonely for the rest of your life.”
“It’s not like I haven’t been lonely before,” Bai Mo replied casually.
“What do you mean ‘been’?”
“Nothing.”
Song Yu leaned closer to Bai Mo. “You don’t like intellectual beauties—what about a pure, innocent girl?” He gestured with his eyes for Mo to look at the entrance.
Bai Mo saw a girl in a high school uniform walking in nervously. He glanced at Song Yu. “You’re trying to get me to break the law.”
“Hahaha, just kidding. That one was indeed a bit young.” Song Yu had known Bai Mo since kindergarten. After all these years, he suddenly seemed to realize where his best friend’s problem lay. He immediately shifted himself slightly away and asked, “You wouldn’t happen to like men, would you?”
Bai Mo: “…” If looks could kill, Song Yu would have been shredded to pieces by now.
Song Yu laughed with a “buddy-buddy” attitude. “Bro, liking men isn’t anything shameful. Now, men can register for marriage too. As long as you don’t take a shine to me, I support you.”
Bai Mo looked at Song Yu as if he were an idiot. “Are you mentally ill? This young master likes the opposite sex.”
As soon as Song Yu’s hand rested on Bai Mo’s shoulder, it was ruthlessly swatted away.
“Oh, come on. You’ve been looking for a girl you like for so many years and haven’t found anyone. How about we don’t be so rigid about gender? Open your mind a little, yeah?”
Bai Mo didn’t want to engage in nonsense with Song Yu. The lightning should have died down by now, right? He downed the rest of his wine such good liquor couldn’t be wasted.
Bai Mo stood up.
“Hm?” Why did he feel a bit floaty?
Seeing Bai Mo stumbling as he walked, Song Yu called out to him.
“Leaving so soon? Wait a second, I’ll go find Old Zhao and have him drive you home.”
Bai Mo was about to turn and sit back down when, in a flash, he saw the high schooler from earlier in a tug-of-war with a burly man. The man was covered in stubble and clearly didn’t look like a good person.
Bai Mo took big strides toward them, bumping into a few people along the way. He grabbed the burly man’s wrist.
“Let her go.”
The girl’s tears streamed down her face. “Brother, help me~”
The burly man didn’t want to get tangled up with Bai Mo; he just wanted to get the girl out as quickly as possible. He tried to shake Bai Mo’s hand off, but couldn’t. People around them began to stare.
“I’m telling you, there are cameras everywhere here, you’d better…” Bai Mo was nearly pushed over, but he held on with all his might.
The burly man let go of the girl’s hand and tried to pry Bai Mo’s hand off, but couldn’t. People were taking photos, and security guards were heading their way.
The burly man panicked, pulled a knife from his clothes, and stabbed directly at Bai Mo.
Bai Mo released the man in pain. He touched his stomach, looked at his blood-stained hand, and felt his head spin further; his vision began to blur.
“Ah!”
“Ah, murder!!”
“Catch the murderer! Don’t let him run!”
Bai Mo collapsed to the floor. He couldn’t see what was happening around him; he only heard chaotic footsteps and panicked shouts. No way… is my wonderful life going to end like this? I just tried to do a good deed, why did it cost me my life? I’m so unwilling! The roast squab I ordered today—I haven’t even eaten it yet~ I really don’t want to ascend!
Bai Mo closed his heavy eyelids.
Palace of Delusion
Scribe of Fate used his magical power to control the rapidly spinning astral compass in the attendant’s hand… but he failed. Instead, the lightning inside the compass grew more intense. He tried again, but the result was the same, so he withdrew his hand.
“Nameless has a hard fate. Let’s just leave it at that for now.”
The attendant realized that even the Immortal Lord couldn’t handle it. Thinking about how Nameless always brought them food when he returned, he felt truly guilty this time.
“Immortal Lord, will Nameless’s love tribulation be affected?”
Scribe of Fate picked up some Osmanthus wine and took a sip.
“I didn’t arrange anything for him this time anyway. The previous ones were all in vain.”
The Scribe paused, thought for a moment, and continued: “I’ll arrange it for him in his next life.” With that, he picked up his wine and left.
Bai Mo felt as if he were drifting through darkness.
[Tu-tu, what is going on?]
Painting: [Don’t ask me, I don’t know either.]
Bai Mo: [Ah~ Ah~ when will this end? If I had known, I wouldn’t have been so righteous. I might have been sitting there eating a feast right now! Heavenly Dao~ I finally found such a good family, how could you be so cruel as to make me short-lived? Ah~ Ah~ I don’t accept this! I want to protest! Ah~ Ah?!! Eh! There’s light ahead.]
Bai Mo heard someone crying and complaining.
“I truly regret not telling you my feelings sooner. Even if you despised me, even if you loathed me, it would have been better than this being separated from you forever!”
“Chu Yan, you know I’m not good with words. Why did you leave me before I could wait for you…”
Bai Mo felt someone holding him very tightly. Who is Chu Yan? I can’t take it—let me catch my breath before you hug me.
Mo Luo’an looked at his beloved, who had died the moment he finally found him. As the new Master of the Medicine King Valley, he could save anyone in the world, yet he couldn’t save him. Heartbroken, he leaned down and kissed those long-desired lips. Although they were as pale as paper now, they were still so beautiful.
Bai Mo was so shaken by the sudden touch that his soul nearly left his body. Who is this?? So bold, daring to molest this young master! Although… the taste isn’t bad at all!
“Mm~ Mm~”
Bai Mo reached out and hugged the person’s waist, wanting to roll over. The person immediately pushed him back gently and looked at him with an expression of disbelief.
“Ouch! You’re actually quite good-looking. I’m not losing out. By the way, are you an actor? You haven’t taken your makeup off yet.”
Mo Luo’an grabbed Bai Mo’s hand before it could touch his head, holding it tightly and staring at him without blinking.
Bai Mo: “?” Not allowed to touch?
Mo Luo’an finally came to his senses. “Chu Yan, you’re awake!? You don’t know, you just…”
“Eh… wait, wait, what did you call me?” Bai Mo felt that something was wrong.
“Chu Yan.”
Although Bai Mo’s head was spinning, he still remembered that the name he had used for twenty-one years wasn’t this. But it seemed he had discovered something even more terrifying.
“Wait, you’re a man?” Bai Mo freed his hand from the tight grip and wiped his mouth. “!! Damn, who are you? This young master isn’t gay!”
Mo Luo’an was at a loss. Chu Yan was awake, but the way he looked at him was so distant.
“Chu Yan, you what happened to you? I… don’t you recognize me?”
Bai Mo pushed the man away.
“Are you very famous? Why should I know you? Let me tell you, I don’t know you. Stay away from me.”
“Master, I’ve brought the silver needles.” An eight or nine-year-old medicine boy ran over with a cloth bag. When he saw Bai Mo, he exclaimed: “Al… alive?”
Bai Mo looked up at the dark, overcast sky. Where is this place? Wasn’t I at a bar? If I was saved, I should be in a hospital room. Why am I in this wilderness surrounded by stones? Was I kidnapped? My head is heavy, my chest is tight it’s so uncomfortable.
