The Sickly Beauty Canβt Escape the Obsessive Lover - Chapter 36.2
Chen Tian had his back to the bed curtains and hadnβt noticed Jing Yuan was awake. Just as Jing Yuan was relieved that Chen Tian hadnβt seen him in his naked state, he suddenly met Ji Yanβs concerned gaze.
“Yuan Yuan, you’re awake.”
Jing Yuan shuddered all over, hurriedly using the bed curtain to cover his body, leaving only his head exposed.
Chen Tian turned around, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.
What was this? Had they finally consummated their relationship?
“Clean clothes are on the pillow, did you see them?” Ji Yan walked to the edge of the bed curtain, looking at Jing Yuan inside who seemed to be struggling to put on his clothes with clumsy movements, his eyes filled with tenderness. “You kept holding onto me yesterday, probably feeling hot, and kept kicking off the blankets in the middle of the night. I was worried you’d catch a cold being naked, so I put one of my pajamas on you.”
Jing Yuan’s cheeks flushed bright red, wishing he could beg Ji Yan to stop talking.
Chen Tian seemed to have discovered a new world, considerately asking, “Do you need me to call a doctor? Or buy some ointment?”
Although Chen Tian wasn’t gay, he knew a thing or two about what happens between men. This young master Jing with his delicate skin probably had a rough time with Ji Yan last night.
“What ointment!” Jing Yuan had already put on his clothes and, without even wearing shoes, jumped off the bed and rushed toward his own room.
Watching Jing Yuan’s escape route, Chen Tian suddenly understood: “So there’s a secret door connecting your rooms?”
Jing Yuan halted in his tracks, turning back to explain, “It’s not a secret door! This is a perfectly proper suite!”
Chen Tian wore an expression of complete understanding, though he didn’t seem to believe Jing Yuan’s words.
Jing Yuan looked at Ji Yan with resentment, then like a fleeing kitten, slammed shut the glass window connecting the two rooms.
He couldn’t help feeling that Ji Yan was deliberately saying all these strange things.
Facing everything, Ji Yan was in quite a good mood. Usually only wearing black clothes, he had surprisingly put on a beige high-neck sweater today.
He gently adjusted his silver-rimmed glasses, his narrow phoenix eyes slightly upturned: “I don’t know why yesterday, Yuan Yuan kept burrowing into my arms all night, making it hard for me to sleep properly.” Chen Tian suppressed the urge to complain, saying seriously: ‘But your mental state seems quite good.'””
“Is that so?”
“Probably because you woke up later than usual this morning.”
Chen Tian marveled – do all men in love like to show off in such a sarcastic way?
After staying here for one night, Jing Yuan and Ji Yan embarked on their new journey. This flight route was shorter, taking less than four hours.
Sure enough, after getting off the plane, the temperature in Finland was noticeably colder. But looking at the fairytale cottages under the snowy white landscape, Jing Yuan couldn’t wait to bundle up in his down jacket and leave a trail of footprints in the snow.
Ji Yan waited until he had played enough before waving him over: “Yuan Yuan, we need to go to our pre-booked hotel now.”
Finland is one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights, especially during this peak aurora season. There were many tourists, and hotels in prime locations were fully booked every day.
Jing Yuan nodded. While riding in the car to the small town, he saw rows of glass cabins on the mountain top. The cabins were bright yellow in appearance, with many sled dogs resting around them. According to Ji Yan’s introduction, this was Finland’s most famous tourist activity – husky sledding.
“Ji Yan, can we try the sledding activity?”
Jing Yuan didn’t mind the cold wind, eagerly looking outside. The continuous pine trees were covered with thick white snow, with brown houses and white towers. Looking around, the beautiful scenery truly existed only in fairytale books.
“Sure, I booked it in advance.”
Jing Yuan had a weak heart, and the sledding activity was slightly too stimulating. Ji Yan, worried about potential issues and anticipating that Jing Yuan wouldnβt give up on the game, had proactively sought out a renowned local sled dog owner in advance, hoping to select some relatively gentle and easily controllable huskies for them.
“Alright, thank you.”
Jing Yuan leaned against the window, forming a heart shape with his hands toward Ji Yan, completely forgetting the morning incident where Ji Yan had made him so embarrassed he wished he could vanish into the ground.
Finally, they arrived at the small town at the foot of the mountain.
The glass cabins Jing Yuan had seen earlier grew closer and closer as they approached. These cabins were lined up at the mountainβs peak, and at first glance, they resembled glass-made yurts.
He asked Ji Yan, “Is this a hotel?”
“Yes, itβs specifically for viewing the Northern Lights. Itβs the best spot.”
After hearing Ji Yanβs explanation, Jing Yuan muttered, “I see lights inside. Could they already be fully booked?”
Chen Tian deliberately remarked, “They were fully booked half a month ago. December to March is the peak season.”
“Ah…” Jing Yuanβs eyes drooped with disappointment as he leaned against the nearby railing, looking around restlessly.
Although the hotel at the foot of the mountain looked luxurious, the glass cabins at the summit were clearly more appealing.
“Ji Yan,” he tugged at Ji Yanβs sleeve, his tone soft and pleading, “How about we try our luck? I want to stay in a glass cabin.”
The glass cabins were entirely surrounded by glass, and when the Northern Lights appeared, one could only imagine how breathtaking the view would be.
Jing Yuanβs eyes widened, resembling a kitten coaxing for treats. This was the expression he always wore when he had a request for Ji Yan. Yet, even so, Ji Yan never grew tired of it.
In truth, Ji Yan had already booked a glass cabin at the highest point of the mountain, secluded and perfect for couples.
But since Chen Tian had already spoken, Ji Yan decided to tease Jing Yuan a little.
“Alright, letβs go check it out.”
With that, Ji Yan took Jing Yuanβs hand and prepared to lead him up the mountain.
From the foot of the mountain, one could either take the cable car or walk. Knowing Jing Yuanβs physical condition, Ji Yan asked Chen Tian to purchase cable car tickets.
Just then, a familiar voice sounded from behind them.
“Brother Yan, Little Jing.”
Both Ji Yan and Jing Yuan turned around simultaneously to find Ye Xingran smiling at them.
Ji Yan wasnβt particularly surprised and nodded slightly. “What a coincidence.”
Ye Xingran, wearing a snow-white reindeer hat, approached them with a smile.
“Are you two here to have fun as well?”
“Yes, Iβm bringing Yuan Yuan to see the Northern Lights.”
Ye Xingranβs eyes flickered slightly as he glanced at Jing Yuan. “Iβm here with a friend to see the Northern Lights too. We could join forces.”
Jing Yuan craned his neck to look behind Ye Xingran and noticed a tall, handsome mixed-race man standing there.
Without overthinking it, he asked with bright eyes, “Is he your boyfriend?”
Ye Xingranβs expression shifted slightly as he gently shook his head. “No, heβs a good friend of mine.”
Jing Yuan tilted his head and took another look, noticing the blond, blue-eyed man smiling at him.
He waved enthusiastically, marveling at the manβs exquisite features. His looks could rival a certain young Leeβs.
“Yuan Yuan and I have our own plans, so we wonβt disturb you,” Ji Yan said gently, taking Jing Yuanβs hand and slowly walking away.
Before Jing Yuan could even chat with the new acquaintance, he shot Ji Yan a disgruntled look. “Wouldnβt it be livelier with more people? Donβt you want to catch up with Ye Xingran?”
“Thereβs nothing for us to catch up on.”
Ji Yan smiled at Jing Yuan, then shifted the topic. “Or perhaps, Yuan Yuan would rather catch up with Ye Xingran?”
Jing Yuan chuckled carefreely. “Iβm not even familiar with him.”
Ji Yan raised his hand and patted his head. “Made a new friend, so next time we meet, you can catch up on old times?”
Jing Yuan secretly glanced at Ji Yan from the corner of his eye.
Why was Ji Yan speaking with such a sarcastic tone?
When they reached the cable car, Ji Yan let Jing Yuan board first. Just as the cable car was about to depart, he glanced at Ye Xingran and his mixed-race friend before slowly stepping onto the car.
The appearance and demeanor of that foreigner always reminded him of someone.
Ning Jin.
The people at the foot of the mountain had completely blurred from view.
Ji Yan withdrew his gaze and focused on Jing Yuanβs every move.
Jing Yuan felt uneasy under Ji Yanβs intense stare, shifting restlessly in his seat. After fidgeting for a while, he finally placed his hands obediently on his knees and asked, without a care in the world, “Yan Yan, didnβt you eat enough for breakfast?”
Ji Yanβs eyes flickered slightly. “I ate enough.”
“Oh.” So that was it.
He must have eaten too much and had nothing better to do.
“If you didnβt eat enough, I could take you to grab a meal.” To cover up his implied sarcasm, Jing Yuan rubbed his nose and pretended to be sincere.
Feeling bold, Jing Yuan couldnβt help but grin.
Watching Jing Yuanβs expression, which seemed to hide something, Ji Yan crossed his long legs and tapped his knee rhythmically with his fingers, as if analyzing or contemplating something.
By the time the cable car reached the mountaintop, he suddenly realized something.
A subtle glint flashed in his eyes.
He looked at Jing Yuanβs innocent expression, raised an eyebrow, and smiled.
Since Jing Yuan was so happy, there was no need for him to say anything more. However, compared to before, the journey had become somewhat silent.
The mountaintop was indeed a gathering place for glass cabins.
It was nearly evening, and the light was growing dimmer, yet the glow from inside these glass cabins illuminated the entire mountaintop.
Jing Yuanβs English was poor, so he needed Ji Yan to handle the communication.
Shamelessly, he pinched the back of Ji Yanβs hand. “Yan Yan, could you ask the owner if there are any available rooms?”
Ji Yan looked toward the highest glass cabin on the mountaintop. “Iβve already booked one for five nights.”
“Huh?” Jing Yuanβs expression was as if he had won the lottery, overjoyed as he confirmed, “Really?”
Ji Yan: “Mm, I thought my darling would like it.”
At that moment, an overwhelming sense of guilt surged within Jing Yuan.
He really was the worst.
He had just insinuated that Ji Yan had nothing better to do.
He took Ji Yanβs hand and whispered his gratitude, “Thank you for planning this trip in advance and letting me relax without a care.”
Ji Yan smiled gently. “As long as youβre happy, everything Iβve done is worth it.”
Jing Yuan felt utterly ashamed.
Could it be that Ji Yan truly loved him that much?
When they entered the glass cabin at the highest point, Jing Yuan discovered it was equipped with arched curtains. Not only did it have a bar and study, but it also offered the best view for observing the northern lights.
Their glass cabin was much larger than the others.
While Jing Yuan was peering out the window, Ji Yan suddenly picked him up and placed him on the arched bed.
Before he could say anything, Ji Yan had already taken off his shoes.
The snow outside was too thick, and Jing Yuan was wearing ankle boots, which had kicked up snow as he walked.
Ji Yan had noticed his pants were wet and guessed that snow had seeped into his boots and socks, which was why he helped him remove his shoes.
“Let me change your socks.”
Ji Yan opened the suitcase, took out the reindeer-brown socks they had bought while shopping the night before, gently held Jing Yuanβs feet, and patiently helped him change into them.
“Cold feet can make you sick.”
After changing the socks, Ji Yan, still kneeling on the ground, looked up at Jing Yuan.
At that moment, Jing Yuanβs guilt reached its peak.
How could he have just said that Ji Yan had nothing better to do?
He went too far.
Innocent Xiao Jing began to lay his cards on the table: “Sorry, Ji Yan. It was wrong of me to imply earlier that you had nothing better to do.”
“Is that so?” Ji Yan’s expression was as if he had just found out, smiling gently. “It’s alright. I know you were just joking.”
“Hmm, it really was a joke.” Jing Yuan sighed inwardly, thinking Ji Yan could be naive at times. He curled his toes and tried to pull his foot back from Ji Yan’s grasp, but couldn’t break free.
Ji Yan was still holding his ankle, fingertips tracing his skin inch by inch as if caressing a piece of fine jade, with no intention of letting go.
Jing Yuan, ticklish and uncomfortable, coughed lightly. “Ji Yan, could you let go of my foot?”
“Of course, but I have a gift for you.”
At the mention of a gift, Jing Yuan perked up, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. “What is it?”
“First, tell me if you want it. It’s an accessory,” Ji Yan said mysteriously, in no hurry to reveal the surprise.
Jing Yuan, being a bit of a money lover, knew accessories like this wouldn’t come cheap. So he obediently replied, “Of course I want it. Thank you for the gift.”
“You’re welcome, darling.”
This time, Ji Yan’s smile carried a hint of menace. He pulled a metal chain from his pocket and slowly fastened it around Jing Yuan’s ankles, clicking it shut.
The connection locked firmly in place.
With the chain linking his feet, Jing Yuan could only move them slightly.
Lifting his leg, Jing Yuan muttered to himself, “Did you fasten the chain wrong? It feels like handcuffs. Can’t my feet be separated?”
Ji Yan chuckled softly and reached out to brush the stray hairs from Jing Yuan’s forehead.
“This chain is special. It can sense the distribution of your muscles, your pulse, heartbeat, and body temperature.”
“Now, I’d like to play a little game with Yuanyuan.”
Seeing the darkness in Ji Yan’s eyes, Jing Yuan felt a twinge of hesitation. “What kind of game?”
Ji Yan leaned closer. “Truth or Dare.”
Jing Yuan mumbled, “What… truth or dare?”
Ji Yan toyed with the ankle chain, his voice growing deeper. “Tell me about your ideal type of boyfriend. If you lie, there will be a punishment. But the details of the punishment will remain a secret for now.”
