- The Seductive Beauty Sinks Into the Shura Field [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 21 - Father and Son’s Rivalry
Chi Wenqiu didn’t care who was coming; he continued to apply his makeup with unhurried composure.
Outside, the boy asked tentatively, “Wenqiu-ge, are you in there?”
There was no response for a long time. The emptiness of the wait felt exactly like the day he had been stood up.
“I… I heard your voice just now. I want to talk to you about something. Can you let me in?” Qu Jing waited silently for a reply. He was tempted to push the door open, yet he was terrified that Chi Wenqiu might ignore him for days again. He was truly fed up with being neglected!
Forcing down his temper, Qu Jing waited with puffed cheeks. Remembering the purpose of his visit, he carefully smoothed out a crumpled love letter, fantasizing about Chi Wenqiu’s surprised reaction. It didn’t matter if he was rejected; he had plenty of time to play the long game. Qu Sinian had failed to win Chi Wenqiu over in three years, but Qu Jing was certain he could succeed.
“Wenqiu, is it inconvenient for you to open the door? I am coming in, then.” With little confidence but fueled by the courage of having defeated many rivals, the boy gently pushed the door open.
Chi Wenqiu disliked rooms that were too bright. He usually kept only the energy-saving lights on. This was not out of frugality, but out of habit.
The dim orange light created an ambiguous, ethereal atmosphere. Looking further in, the lights at the bedroom vanity were more pronounced. A person sat before the mirror, their silhouette graceful and alluring, with long hair cascading over their shoulders.
Even a view of the back alone was enough to stir the imagination.
Qu Jing swallowed nervously. He felt confused, as he did not remember Chi Wenqiu’s hair being this long, but that did not matter now. What mattered most was how to hand over the love letter naturally.
The sound of his swallowing was too loud. Chi Wenqiu turned his head, and his smooth long hair slid off a half-naked shoulder. The skin was so delicate and rounded that it was impossible not to stare blankly at that patch of fair skin.
Wait, is this Chi Wenqiu?
Qu Jing gradually snapped out of it. Chi Wenqiu, who was usually so stiff he would not even undo a single button, was actually wearing revealing women’s clothing! For a moment, Qu Jing thought he was looking at a gender-swapped version of him.
The black bodycon skirt was so short it reached the base of his thighs; sitting down left almost nothing to the imagination. He had not put on his stockings yet, and his smooth white legs glowed with a beautiful sheen that nearly blinded Qu Jing.
Smoky eye makeup could not suppress his exquisite features; the sheer vibrance of the look was a heavy blow to the heart. Qu Jing froze on the spot, forgetting his original intent.
Chi Wenqiu slowly finished drawing his eyebrows. He shifted his eyes, which were fitted with colored contacts, to look at the dazed Qu Jing. Satisfied with the reaction, he let out a short laugh. “I stopped being your butler long ago, so you have no say in what I do. I might not come back tonight.”
“Where are you going?” Qu Jing asked blankly.
“It is none of your business.” Chi Wenqiu picked up his bag and stood to leave, not forgetting to bring his cosmetics for touch-ups. He did not particularly like heavy makeup; having things smeared on his face felt uncomfortable.
He just had to endure tonight.
Unexpectedly, Qu Jing did not force him to stay. However, when Chi Wenqiu reached the parking lot, he noticed an extra set of footsteps behind him. Qu Jing was not even pretending; he was following him quite openly.
Chi Wenqiu stopped and looked back at him.
Qu Jing said, “Wherever you go, I will accompany you.”
The tall “lady” had slightly curled black hair, and his stunning face bore a faint, world-weary expression, devoid of any tenderness. He said coldly, “Get as far away from me as possible.”
Having said that, he got into the car without looking back, completely indifferent to how heartbroken Qu Jing might be.
“Host, his affection value has reached 99,” the System whispered, unable to bear the pitiful sight.
“From now on, do not report anything to me unless it concerns the mission target.”
Chi Wenqiu arrived at the city’s largest gay bar, where high-quality men were a dime a dozen. Although Chi Wenqiu was dressed in women’s clothing, anyone with a discerning eye could tell he was male. He was not affected or pretentious; he was so composed and straightforward that it did not feel out of place. As soon as he entered, three “zeros” approached him simultaneously.
Chi Wenqiu: “Sorry, I am waiting for someone.”
“You can tell just by looking at him that we are the same ‘type.’ Let us go!” The three of them grumbled and left.
The explosive DJ music was deafening, and the lights were a chaotic blend of colors. People were gathered in small groups everywhere. Chi Wenqiu found the pursuits of modern youth a bit hard to accept, so he retreated to a corner to sip a low-alcohol cocktail.
The System reported the movements in real-time: “The mission target has not arrived yet. Could it be he does not know you are here? There are so many gay men here, I am scared. The way they look at you is like they want to swallow you whole.”
Chi Wenqiu remained perfectly calm. He had already rejected no fewer than ten handsome men. He was so annoyed he did not even bother speaking; with a cold sweep of his gaze, others were forced to retreat. Yet, because his beauty was so vivid, there were always those who braved the danger to try and pick him up.
The so-called entertainment did not offer Chi Wenqiu much novelty; instead, he was being constantly pestered. His brow furrowed deeply, and he looked ready to start a fight at any moment.
“Hey handsome, your tastes are quite unique. I like it. Give me a chance to get to know you?” A dark-skinned student athlete who looked like he had just turned eighteen sneakily touched Chi Wenqiu’s crossed thighs. “I have an eight-pack for you to feel.”
Chi Wenqiu took a sip of his drink. Under the chaotic colored lights, his features were as gorgeous as a poisonous flower. “Cross-dressing was my master’s command. I think you do not have a chance.”
“Do not be so heartless. I am great in bed; I can definitely take you to heaven!” The solicitor clearly was not giving up, his hand moving upward as he tried to wrap his arm around Chi Wenqiu’s waist. Chi Wenqiu raised an eyebrow, but just as he was about to handle the guest himself, the guy was suddenly hoisted up.
The newcomer was even taller and more composed than the athlete. His low, laughing voice sounded cold and dangerous: “Thank you for your interest, but my little pet still likes me the best.”
“Pet?” Chi Wenqiu gave him a look. The man immediately softened his tone and said, “No, he should be my master.”
Even the arrogant Qu Sinian had a moment where he yielded.
Chi Wenqiu curled his eyes and smiled brilliantly, a shallow dimple appearing at the corner of his mouth. He was so alluring that Qu Sinian could not help but want to kiss him, but as soon as he reached out, Chi Wenqiu slapped his hand away.
“Show some respect. I am not familiar with you.”
“Not familiar? In what way?” Qu Sinian chewed over those words. His gaze lingered tangibly on Chi Wenqiu’s beautiful face before sweeping down to the full thighs encased in stockings. The gaze made Chi Wenqiu feel uncomfortable, causing him to press his legs together and pull back.
“Not familiar in any way,” Chi Wenqiu said firmly, his eyes turning indignant. “Stare any longer and I will gouge your eyes out!”
“So fierce.” Qu Sinian closed his eyes. “I will not look, then. Do not be angry.”
“Hey!” The athlete, who had been ignored for a while, jumped in frustration, grabbing Qu Sinian’s collar and tugging. “Do not you know who got here first? What right does an old man like you have to talk to him before me! You…”
Smack! The man, who still had his eyes closed, turned and threw a swift, heavy punch, landing it squarely on the athlete’s reasonably handsome face.
The thick-skinned boy was dazed by the blow. He wanted to strike back, but his nose felt itchy. He reached up to touch it, then stared at the bright red on his hand and shouted in a panic, “Blood! It is blood!” Being faint at the sight of blood, he almost passed out.
“Sorry, my hand slipped.” Qu Sinian shook his hand out, looking like a “suit-wearing thug,” which was a perfect combination of wildness and elegance.
The athlete snapped out of it, fuming. “You motherfucker! No one dares touch me. Who do you think you are, hitting me over some rent boy?!”
“Say that again. Who is a rent boy?” Qu Sinian’s tone became serious.
Chi Wenqiu sat steadily, tilting his head to watch the two of them as if watching animals confront each other at the zoo. The atmosphere was so tense they could start fighting at any moment. It was unclear where Qu Sinian had just come from; he was full of hostility and covered in various scars, looking like a street hoodlum returning from a brawl.
The man was tall with long legs. He used his strength to lift the athlete and throw him out, startling the guests at the next table who were busy dancing. Security came to intervene but was immediately blocked by Qu Sinian’s bodyguards. Before long, the police arrived.
The athlete had been drinking and was irrational with rage. Even when the police arrived, he wanted to continue his retaliation. Right in front of everyone, Qu Sinian landed another punch on his cheekbone, and the boy went down instantly.
The sound of collective gasps rose from the surroundings.
The multicolored lights hit the sharp profile of Qu Sinian’s face. He stared intensely at Chi Wenqiu. That stunningly beautiful man was completely relaxed, sitting with his legs crossed, a faint curl at the corner of his mouth as if he were happy to see Qu Sinian’s undignified side.
Bars are chaotic, and people causing trouble is common, but such a handsome troublemaker was rare. Some even recognized Qu Sinian as the former CEO of the company; the negative publicity would affect not just him personally, but the company’s image as well.
Just as Qu Sinian and Chi Wenqiu arrived at the police station, Qu Jing followed shortly after, along with a barrage of non-stop calls from Qu Wenbin. Qu Sinian did not answer. He looked at his son, who was nearly exploding, and said nonchalantly, “Why that face? It is as if I have committed some heinous crime.”
Of course Qu Jing was fuming. He was busy handling the company’s mess, and then he got a call saying his old man had been arrested for fighting. He rushed over, was lectured sternly by the police for a long time, and then got the cold shoulder from Qu Sinian. The fact that he did not start swearing on the spot was a testament to his self-control.
He glanced at Chi Wenqiu, who was reapplying lipstick. Chi Wenqiu acted as if he would not care even if the sky fell, which caused Qu Jing’s anger to subside a bit.
Gradually regulating his breathing, the now-matured Qu Jing said to his irresponsible father, “To the outside world, you are still the figurehead of the Qu Corporation. Any scandal affects the company. Things were already a mess from previous events; why add fuel to the fire? Besides, you told Grandfather that you would not see Chi Wenqiu until everything was settled. Are you breaking your word again?”
Qu Sinian smiled triumphantly. “My wife comes out looking this beautiful just to find me, who could resist? Besides, it is late at night. If he is being watched and something happens to him, I would regret it for the rest of my life.”
Chi Wenqiu spoke up abruptly: “I am not that fragile. Also, who is your wife?”
Since being sidelined, Qu Sinian had become lazy and indifferent. Qu Jing had no choice but to clean up his messes, only to be teased by his incompetent father: “Back then, when you took someone’s car apart and got sent to the station, it was your old man who handled it. Do not be so stiff. It is your first time acting like a ‘father,’ try smiling.”
Finally able to leave after a long ordeal, Qu Jing was about to try and get closer to Chi Wenqiu, only to turn around and see his beautiful “stepmother” pressed against a car hood being kissed. His soft cheeks were squished by five fingers, his long eyelashes fluttering rapidly. Those long, black-stockinged legs were being hoisted up to the man’s waist as if they were going to go at it right through their clothes. The visual tension was strong enough to make an adult like Qu Jing flush.
The perfectly applied lipstick was mostly eaten away, with the remainder transferred to Qu Sinian’s lips. The man chuckled. “This is the one I gave you, right? It tastes good. But lipstick is toxic; use less next time.”
“I hope it poisons you!” Chi Wenqiu tried to push him away, only to have his waist grabbed and lifted again, pressing him closer to the man.
With a deft move of his hand, Qu Sinian hooked the tight hem of the skirt, almost reaching inside. He whispered in Chi Wenqiu’s ear, “Why so slutty? No safety shorts?”
“Why would a man need those! Have you kissed enough? Get lost!” Chi Wenqiu covered the mouth that would not stop saying such things. He could not understand how a once-calm and restrained patriarch had devolved into a street thug; he was truly shameless.
“Why would not you need them? It is more exciting when I tear them off myself. Or would you rather spread your legs for my son to see?”
“You keep mentioning your son, he might not even acknowledge you!”
“Pfft. If I had not stepped down, would he be able to be the company president so easily?” Qu Sinian pinned Chi Wenqiu firmly against the car, pressing his heavy, solid body down further. He lowered his head to nibble on the small earring hidden in Chi Wenqiu’s hair, even using his tongue to “clean” the earlobe.
His body began to heat up uncontrollably. Feeling as if he were falling ill, Chi Wenqiu let out a muffled groan of endurance. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a shocked Qu Jing. For a moment, he felt a sense of immense satisfaction.
The struggle between father and son, he could never get tired of watching it.
Qu Sinian was also harboring quite a bit of anger toward his son. Qu Jing had backstabbed his adoptive father to bring him down and was even coveting the person Qu Sinian loved deeply; it was truly infuriating.
More than once, he wanted to banish his rebellious son, but the priority now was to win Chi Wenqiu back before anyone else could seize the opportunity.
Chi Wenqiu had originally been happy to see Qu Sinian suffer, but he had not expected the man to dare kiss him forcefully in public. He felt a bit nauseated and refused to give him any courtesy.
“Xiao Qiu, be good. Come back to the car with me and sit; it is cold outside.” It was indeed a bit cold. Chi Wenqiu was wearing very little; he felt slightly hot from the alcohol but was nowhere near an allergic reaction and was perfectly sober.
He heartlessly slapped Qu Sinian’s hand away and laughed coldly. “So, you finally found a time when your son has the upper hand. Now that the Qu family does not want you anymore, how will you act so powerful in the future?”
Qu Sinian chuckled. “It is just starting from scratch again. It is not like I will have no money and end up begging.”
Qu Jing suppressed his rage. “You offended the business partners and left me to bear millions in debt, you really are a ‘great’ father!”
“Oh, those are small matters. It is just a pity I could not finish off Fu Ruhuan; that is a bit frustrating.”
Qu Jing continued his mockery. “How much more frustrated do you want to be? You almost got yourself sent away too. Their family is involved in the underworld; how can a commoner like you compare? You were almost assassinated and could not even protect yourself, yet you are shameless enough to come back for Chi Wenqiu. Do you want to get him killed?!”
While he cursed with his mouth, his eyes caught the sight of the beauty’s long legs in high heels, and his throat moved with difficulty. It was not just lust; based on Chi Wenqiu’s appearance alone, almost no one could resist him. Moreover, being the object of his affection, just smelling his scent was enough to cause a reaction.
As the night deepened and a cold wind rose, Chi Wenqiu stamped his feet and opened the car door to get in. “Turn on the heater.”
The driver, who had strangely witnessed a grand romantic drama, said, “It is already on.”
Qu Sinian, following closely into the backseat, added, “Turn it up higher.”
Qu Jing, sitting on the other side of Chi Wenqiu, said gently, “Wenqiu-ge, it is very late. Let us go back to the Qu residence first. In the future, I will not stop you from going wherever you want.” He was nearly driven mad with anger, yet he could only awkwardly huddle in the crowded backseat, taking care not to provoke Chi Wenqiu.
If Qu Sinian had not been there, he would have loved to whisper in Chi Wenqiu’s ear: “Once I pull the old man down and take full control of the Qu family business, I can do whatever I want, and we can get married smoothly.” But with Qu Sinian still there, he could not indulge in his fantasies.
The son’s little schemes could not be hidden from anyone. Qu Sinian secretly reached out his hand, covering the “absolute territory” between Chi Wenqiu’s short skirt and his garter stockings, while saying with interest, “Xiao Jing, I suppose I have disappointed you. Even though I, your father, have lost my power, I can still come back to find my wife.” He was indeed capable; no matter what means Qu Jing used, Qu Sinian could turn danger into safety. Ultimately, Qu Jing was not ruthless enough; if he had just finished off his father, there would not be all this trouble.
The boy, not yet twenty, clenched his fingers into a fist, completely failing to notice the faint mockery in Chi Wenqiu’s eyes.
“Wife, why are not you talking?” The strap of the garter was hooked by two rough fingers; when released, it snapped back against the thigh with a crisp sound.
Chi Wenqiu’s temper flared instantly. He raised his leg and stamped on the man’s toe with his weapon-like heel. The older man groaned in pain.
Chi Wenqiu: “If you love being a masochist so much, I do not mind chopping that thing of yours off!”
“Do not do that. For the sake of our future happiness, chop something else off instead. Not the fingers, or I will not be able to stretch you and it will hurt. Let us skip the toes too. I cannot hold your waist and have you step on my feet… Hiss, wife, you are so hot. Step on me a few more times.”
By the end, Qu Sinian’s frivolous voice had begun to tremble.
“Heh.” Chi Wenqiu curled his red lips and whispered in the man’s ear, “What a pity I did not get to see you lose control and kill someone. If I had known you would only land a few light punches, I should have gone to bed with someone else just to make you regret it. But, I will not let anyone touch me, including you.”
His breath smelled wonderful, a slightly crisp and elegant fragrance mixed with the scent of grape wine. It acted like a drug, causing Qu Sinian’s muscles to tighten. He wanted to follow his heart and kiss him, but his handsome face was suddenly met with a resounding slap, so loud the driver stole another glance.
“It does not hurt. Do it again.” Qu Sinian’s raspy voice was very low, his words tender yet incredibly crude. “Once you have finished hitting me to your heart’s content, it will be my turn to fuck you into satisfaction.”
“You really are a scoundrel!”
“I never said I was a gentleman.” Qu Sinian’s dark eyes were filled with bottomless affection. “You have known for a long time. I have a poor education and do not know many big words; I am just a beast pretending to be refined. Day and night, I only want to do the things I love to do with you. And if you push me too far, I will stop acting like a human. Want to try, darling?”
The man moved his lips silently to say a few words; all of which were things that could not pass censorship.
Chi Wenqiu laughed coldly. “You really are shameless enough, Qu Sinian. Who could compete with you? At first, you used Qu Jing to test me, and only after playing too much did you hypocritically want to marry and settle our relationship. You think I care about your status? Look in the mirror; are you still that powerful patriarch?”
He leaned back toward Qu Jing, crossing his arms and saying indifferently, “I have plenty of exit strategies. What about you? By the time you build everything from scratch, will it not take another twenty years? I can wait, but can you? With that time and energy, Qu Jing is clearly a better choice than you.”
His words were not exactly meant to be hurtful, but they stabbed into Qu Sinian’s heart like a knife; something a proud older man would remember for a lifetime. Given Qu Sinian’s personality, he refused to lower himself to beg Chi Wenqiu; he could only stare at him longingly with sorrowful eyes.
Chi Wenqiu was determined not to look back, his cold attitude firmer than toward an enemy.
After a long while, Qu Sinian finally said, “Is this your choice? Fine. I know what you want, Chi Wenqiu. You simply want me to truly fall in love with you so that you can leave.” The hand resting on the black silk stockings was slowly withdrawn, and the man sat back, tidying his clothes with deliberate care. “I cannot grant you that condition, but there are other ways to set you free.”
He told the driver to stop and walked out into the cold wind alone.
Chi Wenqiu watched his silhouette disappear around the corner.
The driver said, “This place is over ten kilometers to the Qu residence.”
“Let him walk back himself.”
Qu Jing hesitated to speak. He looked at the interaction between Chi Wenqiu and Qu Sinian; it seemed like a young couple having a spat. Chi Wenqiu turned his head: “If you want to speak for him, you can go blow in the cold wind with him.”
“Uh, no, it is just that stopping is not allowed on the highway.”
Chi Wenqiu said heartlessly, “Then drive away quickly.”
So, he just left his father?
Qu Jing, who had a bit of a moral compass but not much, quickly shifted all his attention to Chi Wenqiu. That slender waist and long legs were like invisible blades, chillingly captivating. He clearly loved him enough to want to pounce on him, yet he had to maintain his scholar-like composure: “Ahem, so… why did you dress like this?”
Chi Wenqiu asked back, “Do you not like it?”
The boy, whose earlobes were red enough to bleed, nodded. “I like it.”
“Go back, wash up, and wait for me.”
“Huh?” Qu Jing suddenly sat bolt upright.
Chi Wenqiu was feeling restless. Ignoring the System’s warning beeps in his mind, he tucked a strand of hair behind his ear, exuding an unintentional and seductive charm.
He said somewhat spitefully, “I am not sleeping tonight anyway.”
