The Security Guard Who Won the Heart of the Unattainable Actress - Chapter 9
Chapter 9
All the security guards, when necessary, would act as staff for the production team. In the shot, that slender figure’s back appeared exceptionally agile and swift.
Only a pair of her hands and a fleeting glimpse of her number 06 badge appeared in the shot, which did not attract much attention.
Except for the person she had blindfolded.
After Li Guang put the blindfold on Ran Mingyue, she quickly retreated from the camera’s view, but her eyes were fixed on the team that was moving at a snail’s pace.
“Everyone, please hold on to the shoulders of the person in front of you and get ready to enter the next scene.”
Ran Mingyue steadied herself and slowly held onto Jiang Qiaoye’s shoulder.
The person at the very front was the movie king, Xiang Que, who, due to his age and seniority, was rightfully the leader. The order after him was: Wen Yingzhi, Hua Yuzhi, Song Suoqi, Jiang Qiaoye, and Ran Mingyue, who was at the back.
Since it was their first time, everyone was a little nervous and wasn’t moving very fast.
“Where, where are we going?”
“Am I holding onto your shoulder, Sister Wen? Is Teacher Xiang behind me? Right?”
“Yes, just keep going forward.”
“Jiang Qiaoye.” Ran Mingyue slightly increased the pressure on Jiang Qiaoye’s shoulder. “Why are you shaking?”
“I’m not…” Jiang Qiaoye felt a cold gust of wind brush past his ear. The next second, Ran Mingyue felt the body under her hand become empty.
?
“Hey!” Li Guang gave the cameraman a signal to pause and quickly reached out to catch Jiang Qiaoye’s body. “He fainted.”
? ? ? ? ?
Jiang, wake up! Didn’t you say you were the tank! How did you faint before you even got into the escape room and started solving the mystery!
Even though it’s tragic, I really, I really can’t help but laugh hahahahahaha
Jiang’s comedian effect is always at its max
Yezhi is probably really scared. He’s had a small胆 in other variety shows before
Did he really faint?
? ? ? ? ? Damn, this isn’t for the show’s effect, is it?
Li Guang’s heart also screamed “ah.”
He really fainted! When she lifted Jiang Qiaoye’s body, the heavy weight told Li Guang that this was for real.
Li Guang was extremely distressed, but she couldn’t just stand by and not help. After thinking for a moment, she used her thumb to pinch Jiang Qiaoye’s philtrum.
Jiang Qiaoye’s assistant ran over in a panic, with the production team’s emergency doctor following close behind.
“Hey! You can’t do that!”
Before the doctor could finish his sentence, Jiang Qiaoye’s eyes “popped” open as if a sound effect was playing. He was weak but still managed to say, “I! I’m awake!”
Li Guang immediately put him down. The assistant and the doctor looked at each other in confusion. “Qiaoye, what’s wrong?”
“I have low blood sugar, it’s low blood sugar! It’s not because I was scared! I woke up too early this morning and forgot to eat.” After eating the two candies his assistant gave him, Jiang Qiaoye’s pale face slowly returned to normal. Even with the blindfold on, you could see his feigned calmness.
Jiang Qiaoye and Ran Mingyue were standing the closest.
Li Guang went back out of the camera’s view. Even though she just passed by Ran Mingyue quickly, she still whispered, “It’s nothing serious.”
“The game continues. Players are about to enter the first escape room. Please remember everything you’ve passed and the environmental features. Your identity cards will become clearer after each puzzle is solved. Find the one and only truth, and the game will end. Good luck to you all.”
This cold and emotionless mechanical voice was chilling, especially for the guests who were already immersed in the filming.
In a state of total blindness and helplessness, a person’s imagination would become incredibly powerful, and they would even scare themselves.
Ran Mingyue held back a laugh: “Jiang Qiaoye, still the tank?”
Jiang Qiaoye bristled: “Of course! I’m a man of my word. I’m an invincible tank, I’m telling you…”
Just as he finished, the sound of an iron lock being opened made everyone’s heart skip a beat.
This man-made lake wasn’t very big and was located in Zone B of the villa area. This was a place Li Guang patrolled every day, so she was very familiar with it.
After entering the escape room, the outdoor cameramen stopped there. The indoor cameras had already been set up.
Li Guang and the other staff were waiting at the guest escape room’s partition, which was separated by a one-way mirror.
With a loud bang, the door was locked from the inside as soon as everyone entered.
Ran Mingyue remained silent, starting to feel the inner walls of the room from the back, hoping she could find something. Before long, she found a switch by the door.
When the lights came on, everyone finally saw their situation.
It was a simple bedroom. On the table in the middle was a locked box. Next to it were two bowls of instant noodles and a deck of cards.
“What kind of scene is this?”
Ran Mingyue didn’t have time to worry about the state of her other teammates. She was the first to go up and check the lock.
“It needs a password.”
“What password?”
Wen Yingzhi brought the still-shaken Jiang Qiaoye forward.
“Four digits, there are no clues at all here.”
Ran Mingyue wanted to check more carefully.
She leaned forward, and just as her fingers touched the edge of the password lock, a voice from the ceiling sounded:
“Welcome, players, to the appetizer cabin. Everything here is in its initial state.”
“Your police partner, Mei Wenti, has been undercover in a suspicious convenience store for two months. But three days ago, she disappeared, and her life or death is currently unknown.”
“Your mission is to find your missing partner, expose the hidden criminal facts, and find the truth. Players, your identity cards will only appear after you’ve solved the puzzle. You could be on the side of justice, or you could be on the side of evil… Everyone is in danger of being hunted down. To find the truth, you must first survive.”
“This is the last place she was seen, her employee dorm. Good luck, everyone.”
Everyone’s eyes scanned all the furnishings in the room.
It was clean, neat, and there was no blood. One bowl of instant noodles was open, and there were signs of life here.
Where was she?
“Is she… Is she still alive?” Song Suoqi asked hesitantly. “Does this mean we all have to find the killer together?”
“No,” Wen Yingzhi shook her head. “Identities are randomly assigned. With how they’re doing this, you might think you’re on the good side in one escape room, but in the next, you might unlock your identity as a villain. Plus, there are NPCs hunting us down…”
Jiang Qiaoye hissed: “Why do you have to make us new players start on a hell-mode level?”
Ran Mingyue looked around. There were absolutely no clues about the password.
“It can’t be some kind of ridiculously difficult password, right?” Jiang Qiaoye walked forward. “In that monologue just now, didn’t it say something about ‘two months,’ ‘three days,’ and there are two bowls of instant noodles here. Let’s try… ah, 6032?”
Ran Mingyue, to his credit, entered it. It wasn’t the right one.
She and Xiang Que were silently designated as the brains of the group. At this moment, the two of them looked at each other, and Ran Mingyue said, “0000 or 8888?”
Xiang Que: “Or 6666, and 1234.”
Wen Yingzhi scoffed: “They’ve already thrown us into such a hellish place. How could they set such a simple, initial password?”
“0000 isn’t it, 8888 isn’t it, and 6666 isn’t it either.” But Ran Mingyue had already started trying the passwords.
“Stop trying. I told you it won’t be that simple. How about…”
“Click.”
“1234, it’s open.”
Inside the box was a weapon! A delicate woman’s pistol lay quietly inside.
Ran Mingyue had just turned to tell everyone the good news when the lights in the room suddenly dimmed. An alarm blared, a piercing buzz disturbing everyone’s mind. A red laser beam came from somewhere and scanned the entire room randomly like an eye, finally locking onto the six of them one by one.
“Isn’t that a sniper rifle! F**k— (beep)” Xiang Que broke his calm persona.
“Oh my God, production team, this isn’t what you said before! Why are you doing this!” Song Suoqi lost his ability to rhyme like a rapper.
“Mom, I want to go home!” This was from the invincible tank, Jiang Qiaoye, who was already cowering in a corner.
The room became completely dark. That red sniper dot was exceptionally clear, and everyone’s heart couldn’t help but pound. They were so scared that they just crouched on the ground.
Only Ran Mingyue subconsciously picked up the weapon from the box.
She first grabbed the barrel, skillfully spinning it half a circle in her palm, and precisely placed her finger on the handle before gripping it tightly. Almost at the same time, the moment the red dot landed on her forehead, Ran Mingyue fluidly cocked the gun and fired.
She squinted her left eye and aimed.
“Bang–“
“Player Ran Mingyue, successfully killed Sniper A.”
The lights instantly came on. Ran Mingyue was still holding the gun, pointing it at the mirrored wall. Her eyes were cold and resolute, as if she had truly been in a fight.
Li Guang put down her prop gun, looking at the dark muzzle still pointed at her forehead.
This was a one-way mirror.
From the staff’s perspective, they could clearly see Ran Mingyue.
There was no light, only a few intentionally designed laser beams from the production team, and Ran Mingyue had precisely made a headshot, protecting everyone.
She clutched her chest, feeling her heart still beating. After exhaling a long breath—
“To earn a few extra bucks, my heart is about to stop!!!”
Ran Mingyue slowly put away her gun.
From the beginning of the show until now, she hadn’t been scared much, and she wasn’t fully immersed yet.
At this moment, a private notification came through her earpiece, “Congratulations, you have unlocked your identity card. Your identity is: The Killer. The undercover police officer, Mei Wenti, was the last person you killed.”
The room lit up again. Everyone, still shaken, saw the photo that had been put on the wall at some point.
Next to it was her name: Mei Wenti
The light shone on the photo, and it was Li Guang.
The small dimples when she smiled, and her beautiful, pure, and round eyes were all incredibly clear under the light.
She was the killer, and Li Guang was the NPC she had killed?
Ran Mingyue’s slender finger flicked the trigger.
Very good.
Could she actually not shoot all the people in the production team now?
