The Scumbag Omega Chases After Platonic Love - Chapter 16
People often act out of character in extreme situations. For instance, just two days ago, she had sworn she and Yi had no chance, even maintaining her composure while watching Yi shower.
But now…
Could I have been bewitched? I must be under some kind of spell. Recalling Xiao Qi’s teasing words, she thought, Even someone with a low libido couldn’t resist? That’s unbelievable!
As an Alpha, she had to take responsibility. So, having unknowingly touched someone under the influence of temptation, she accepted the consequences and stepped up to the plate.
Nai Bing sat at home, pondering the dynamics of romantic relationships. Since Yingying had always been the one to initiate things, leaving her passive, she figured it was time to reverse roles.
First, she needed to make it official on social media.
What kind of declaration should I write? she mused. It has to be absolutely certain, leaving no room for ambiguity. Something like: “I’m in love. This person in the photo is my girlfriend. From now on, your joy is mine, your sorrow is mine, and the rest of my life belongs to you.”
As a novice, she even felt a smug satisfaction with her phrasing, completely oblivious to how cheesy it sounded. She made sure to block her colleagues from seeing the post.
Next, matching profile pictures. She looked up tutorials online, because everyone said a proper partner should do these little things to make their partner feel secure.
Nai Bing set a personalized chat background for Yi Zhanying. Before her lover returned home, she completed all the household chores, leaving no corner uncleaned. She adjusted the air conditioning to a comfortable temperature, then sat hugging her phone, waiting for a message.
“When are you coming home?”
Ten minutes passed with no reply.
Twenty minutes later, still nothing.
As usual, Nai Bing double-tapped Yi Zhanying’s profile picture to send a gentle nudge. Half an hour passed, and still no response. She tossed her phone aside and stopped checking.
“I’m home.”
******
At nine o’clock that evening, Yi Zhanying returned home after meeting with a client. Two pairs of new slippers, pink and blue, were neatly arranged by the entrance. A fragrant aroma filled the house, and a pot of pumpkin and mung bean soup simmered in the kitchen.
Nai Bing had fallen asleep on the sofa. When she woke up, she found Yi Zhanying leaning gently beside her. Unable to resist, she leaned in to hug her tightly, feeling Yi Zhanying’s body was particularly soft, like a plush, springy pillow filled with warmth and fragrance.
She’s already initiating physical affection so quickly… Nai Bing secretly suppressed a smile.
Love is always sweet, especially the initial, bewildering, and magical feeling of falling in love. Your eyes see only the other person, and you can’t perceive or feel anything else. You yearn to melt into them, to become one.
Locked in a passionate embrace, Nai Bing tasted the clear, spring-like flavor in Yi Zhanying’s mouth once more. Her nostrils flared as she licked her lips, as if trying to savor more of the taste. Glancing at her phone, she saw several messages from Yi Zhanying sent while she had been asleep: “Sorry, I was busy and didn’t see your messages. Are you mad? I’ll try to be home before 10.”
Yet her carefully crafted WeChat post had received no likes. When she checked Yi Zhanying’s timeline, she realized she hadn’t made their relationship official.
“Yingying,” Nai Bing began, trying to gauge her reaction indirectly, “did you forget something?”
“Hmm?” Yi Zhanying pondered. What could she have forgotten?
Was it the cleaning gloves Nai Bing had mentioned needing that morning? She quickly rummaged through her bag and pulled out three different types of gloves. “I bought these at the supermarket on the way home.”
Nai Bing’s eyebrows drooped instantly. You really have no clue, she thought. I’ll give you one more chance.
“Think harder,” she urged.
Yi Zhanying fell into deep thought. She recalled Nai Bing mentioning something about their past during their last Western dinner. Could that still be bothering her? No, perhaps Xiao Qi had told Xiao Bing about the junior colleague at the office who kept pestering her.
“There’s nothing between me and that person,” she replied. “She’s just a clumsy younger sister.”
Oh, really?
What are you talking about? This makes no sense.
Nai Bing froze, her professional composure—honed through rigorous training to never smile unless she absolutely couldn’t help it—kicking in.
“Really?” she pressed, following Yi Zhanying’s lead.
“Really…” Yi Zhanying nodded repeatedly, clinging tightly to Nai Bing and acting coyly to prove her innocence. “I’ve never lied to you, truly…”
Nai Bing pulled up her phone screen, her voice cold. “Sister, I’m talking about this. What are you referring to?”
Yi Zhanying glanced at the screen. Oh, so she’s talking about the WeChat announcement. It had been posted four hours ago, with dozens of comments and likes but no sign of her own presence.
“Is that what you meant?” she asked, forcing an awkward but polite smile.
Nai Bing pushed away Yi Zhanying’s clinging embrace, sat up, and turned to lie on her side, glancing back as she closed the door. “Just how many ‘good younger sisters’ do you have?”
Damn, she’s upset. Yi Zhanying quickly liked and commented on the WeChat post, then dug through her photo album for what she considered Nai Bing’s cutest picture, edited it, and posted it.
She knocked lightly on the door and, without waiting for a response, pushed it open. The room was dark and quiet. She lifted the covers, lay down beside Nai Bing, and nestled into her arms, resting her head against her chest. Nai Bing was silently scrolling through her phone, aimlessly switching between screens.
In Nai Bing’s contacts, Nai Bo, Xiao Qi, and Li Qianxi’s chats were at the top, all filled with generous blessings.
“I’m not really angry,” Nai Bing said, wrapping an arm tenderly around her shoulder. “I’m just not used to this. You seem different from what I imagined.”
“How so?”
“For you, this might just be a casual relationship, but I have to take it seriously,” Nai Bing explained succinctly. Right now, it felt like Yi Zhanying was taking this for granted, while she was making too much of it.
“Don’t be mad…” Yi Zhanying murmured, suddenly flipping over to take the dominant position. “I just thought you wouldn’t like those things.”
In the darkness, she straddled Nai Bing’s waist, slowly lowering herself, her fingers teasing open the thin, warm fabric of her shirt.
Though the dim light made it hard to see clearly, Nai Bing could feel the sensual tension building. Then, a soft touch covered that area, warm lips closing around her, gently licking. Ugh, my belly button is so ticklish. What kind of game is this?
“Ticklish…” she gasped.
“Hehe~”
“Stop!”
Nai Bing pressed her hands against Yi Zhanying’s shoulders, preventing her from getting any closer. Yi Zhanying’s voice carried a hint of reproach. “Why don’t you want me to?”
“Because it’s ticklish… and so embarrassing…”
“But we’re already together! What’s there to be embarrassed about?” Yi Zhanying reached for her phone on the bed, unlocked it, and pulled up the social media post she had just shared. She grinned. “Look, all our friends are praising how beautiful you are.”
Nai Bing took the phone and scrolled through the comments. The comments section was a riot of reactions: blessings, wails of despair, and disbelief.
[“OMG, you actually went public on your social media!”]
[“Who’s this god-tier Alpha? Their looks are chef’s kiss.”]
[“Looks like she’s really serious.”]
[Qin Shen: “You better treat her right, you trash!”]
[Xiao Qi: “Heh, someone announced their relationship four hours before you. Pfft.”]
Nai Bo (younger brother): “Hello, Sister-in-law!”
Tian Yuan: “Aaaah, Director, you’re gone…”

After another restless night, Xiao Bing’s hands felt numb at work the next day. She kept pausing to stretch her fingers, examining them and recalling the faintly acidic scent of the liquid that had stained them the night before.
Did it actually happen? Did it?
She wanted to ask Yi Zhanying directly, but the thought made her blush with embarrassment. How could she bluntly ask someone how it felt?
“Xiao Bing, that beautiful woman is here to see you,” a colleague suddenly reminded her, winking mischievously.
“I know,” Xiao Bing replied.
Gathering her notes, Nai Bing headed to the VIP reception room, hoping to see her new lover. Instead, she found Li Qianxi, her celebrity friend, waiting.
“Qianxi, you’re here! Black tea or green tea today?” she asked with a smile.
“Black tea will do,” Li Qianxi replied coldly, settling into her seat to observe her friend’s cheerful demeanor. Having publicly announced her relationship just days ago, Nai Bing seemed radiant, her eyes brighter than ever.
“Here, be careful, it’s hot,” Nai Bing said, handing her the tea.
“Thank you.”
Li Qianxi sighed softly, falling silent for a moment before finally speaking. “You really did agree to be with her, didn’t you? I knew it. Yi Zhanying is too skilled, too high-level. You never stood a chance against her. It was only a matter of time before you fell into her trap.”
Nai Bing had no explanation to offer. Regardless of how it had happened, the result was clear: she had accepted Yi Zhanying.
“What do you want to talk about today?” she asked.
“How should idols manage their relationships with fans?” Li Qianxi changed the subject. “I’m deeply honored to have their support, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I’m afraid they have such high expectations of me that I can’t possibly meet them. If I disappoint them, you know how quickly people forget in this fast-paced internet age. Soon, no one will remember me…”
“Because your success came unexpectedly, you’re constantly worried about losing it?”
“Yeah, I just feel like I don’t deserve it.”
Nai Bing’s expression softened with sympathy. Her friend was actually deeply insecure, subconsciously trying to please her fans. But Li Qianxi also knew that blindly pandering to them would only lead to losing herself and eventually being resented. She was lost and confused.
“You’re amazing, Qianxi! In my eyes, you’re absolutely fantastic!” Nai Bing transformed into a devoted fan, cheering her on. “I’ve seen every one of your movies and given them all five-star reviews on Douban. But don’t think I’m just blindly praising you. I wrote detailed reviews too!”
She pulled up one of her reviews to show Li Qianxi. “In this crime thriller, you played the supporting role perfectly. Even though she was just a disposable character used to make the protagonist look cool, she generated so much buzz in just three minutes of screen time. Why? Because people loved her…”
“There’s a connection between the character and the actor. When people love the character, it’s because you portrayed her so well. That’s why they love you too.”
******
The conversation eventually devolved into a girly chat, the two laughing and giggling with genuine joy. As they were about to part, Li Qianxi asked, “Can I give you a hug?”
“A hug?” Nai Bing instantly recalled Yi Zhanying’s sweet, coquettish gestures—so charming, alluring, and full of feminine grace.
“Sure,” she agreed. “It’s just a friendly hug.”
“Hehe,” Li Qianxi giggled, secretly slipping a card into Nai Bing’s pocket.
Yingying was coming home later than usual today. Nai Bing casually hung her coat on the rack and started her usual cleaning routine. A note from Yingying said she’d be working late and wouldn’t be home for dinner, so Nai Bing made herself a simple meal of one dish and soup.
She grabbed a book and settled into the living room to read while she waited, lounging on the sofa, sometimes lying down, sometimes sprawled out, occasionally rolling onto the carpet for a playful embrace.
Time ticked by, her heart brimming with sweet anticipation. If she hadn’t fallen in love with Yingying, she never would have known that waiting for her to come home could be such a blissful experience. Nai Bing’s heart was dyed a rosy pink, immersed in the raw, fiery passion of first love.
When Yi Zhanying returned home, she noticed a folded card floating on the floor. She picked it up suspiciously and read: “The moonlight is perfect. I’ve always liked you.”
At the bottom was the artistic signature of a female celebrity. Having once received Li Qianxi’s autograph during a chance encounter, Yi Zhanying recognized it instantly.
Where’s Xiao Bing?
Voices drifted from the balcony: “Why didn’t you ask me before signing the contract? You just signed it on a whim! And since you’re over sixteen, the part-time contract is legally binding.”
“What kind of fairytale is this? Falling for a ‘pie in the sky’ scheme and getting tricked into modeling by some street hustler? Speechless…”
Yi Zhanying found a lighter and slowly burned the card Li Qianxi had given her, reducing it to ashes without a trace.
