The Ruined Heiress’s Canary Is A Secret Tycoon - Chapter 5
The alcohol had taken effect, making Ye Siyu’s body feel soft and weak.
Suddenly, her arm was pulled upward by a hand with distinct joints and long, slender fingers.
The cold scent of sandalwood enveloped her completely, muddying her thoughts and plunging her into a long, deep dream.
Her consciousness drifted back to the spring and summer of two years ago, it had been the height of summer back then.
It was July, a time of lush green vegetation and a woven web of continuous cicada cries.
Ye Siyu had just attended a brand’s red carpet gala. Still wearing her knee length, sequined evening gown, she had been dragged along by a friend to attend a party out at sea.
Waves crashed loudly against the hull of the ship. The three deck yacht cruised across the pitch-black water, serving as the only dazzling beacon of light on the dark sea.
The hustle and bustle of the city had shifted to the ocean, turning this vessel into a temporary island of pleasure-seeking.
The moment Ye Siyu stepped into the cabin wearing her Christian Louboutin diamond encrusted stiletto heels, the room seemed to brighten by several degrees. Quite a few attractive TPs around the room turned their eyes toward her.
This yacht was hosting a lesbian party, so naturally, everyone in attendance was a lesbian.
The natural scent of the girls mingled with their perfumes, creating a distinct, intoxicating fragrance throughout the space.
Standing tall at 172 cm, Ye Siyu possessed fair skin, striking features, and a waist so slender it could be held in a single grasp. As she sat at the bar holding a straw and sipping a drink, her head tilted slightly, her waterfall of long hair cascaded over her slender back. She looked entirely relaxed and spaced out, yet she was absolutely breathtaking.
People whispered in low voices. Once they realized she was the daughter of the prestigious Ye Group, a elite family among elite families, they finally abandoned any thoughts of striking up a conversation. At the same time, looking at this beauty who seemed to be a masterclass creation of Goddess Nuwa herself, they noticed her elegant brows were knitted slightly, making her seem somewhat unapproachable.
The glass was frosted with icy condensation, and ice cubes swirled gently within the liquor.
It was very much like Ye Siyu’s current state of mind. A certain emotion in her heart was just like the mint leaves steeping in the glass, clinging to the ice cubes and barely hanging on.
The high stool next to Ye Siyu sank as a brightly attractive woman with a head of dyed pink hair sat down.
She was the host of this party, as well as Ye Siyu’s friend. The pink-haired beauty nudged Ye Siyu’s arm. “Getting you out here is honestly too difficult. If it weren’t for the special program I scheduled for tonight, would I still have failed to invite you?”
The pink-haired friend smiled slyly. “Hey, I heard your aunt arranged a blind date for you. The other party is from a top-tier, old money global financial clan. What an incredible match, that’s the Charles family! My family’s eldest aunt was trying to establish a connection before, but unfortunately, she couldn’t pull it off. She was so furious she was stomping her feet at home every day.”
Bursting with enthusiastic curiosity, the friend repeatedly winked at Ye Siyu.
Ye Siyu merely took a sip of her drink and remained silent.
In fact, this was exactly what had been troubling her recently.
Ye Siyu was currently managing the family business on her own. Her parents had passed away early, and it was her aunt who had been supporting her in running the company. However, her aunt had her own family industries to manage, and she had recently been diagnosed with poor health. Therefore, she wanted to find a suitable match for Ye Siyu, someone who could be relied upon and whose family status was an equal match.
To everyone’s surprise, through various connections, they happened to cross paths with a highly prominent, old money foreign family that was also looking for a suitable marriage partner for their sole successor. What Ye Siyu couldn’t understand, however, was that although her own family status was by no means low, it couldn’t compare to an illustrious old money family like that. Furthermore, with her parents gone in an accident, she was the only one left in this branch of the family tree. It was difficult to imagine how those people had managed to select her family.
Since the other party’s family was so illustrious, Ye Siyu’s aunt was naturally overjoyed and had been trying to facilitate the match.
Yet before Ye Siyu could even meet this only daughter, trouble arose.
According to her aunt, just as the only daughter was about to fully take over the family, her qualification as the successor was questioned due to her mixed Eastern heritage. The family erupted into a chaotic inheritance feud, causing massive upheaval. Strangely enough, Ye Siyu’s overseas trust fund operations were also inexplicably affected and targeted. She still had to find ways to deal with those old foxes on the board of directors to prevent them from biting off a piece of her flesh.
It was truly exhausting.
“By the way, what’s the name of that blind date of yours?”
Ye Siyu took a drink expressionlessly. “Raven Valkyrie Charles.”
The lights swept across her fair face, catching the brilliant fire of the diamond earrings by her ears.
Her friend frowned. “Good grief, that’s so long. I can’t even remember it.”
“Still, I’ve heard of this young lady’s nickname. They call her the ‘Raven Woman’ or the ‘Black Crow’ or something like that. I used to think she got such a sinister nickname because she was ruthless and decisive in the business world. Only today do I realize her name literally means crow, doesn’t ‘Raven’ just mean a large crow? That foreign dad of hers is truly incomprehensible. Who names their daughter after a crow?”
Ye Siyu lowered her eyes and took another sip of her drink.
“I don’t know. But there’s no need to trouble ourselves in the future. I don’t have to go on the blind date anymore.”
Her friend was visibly shocked. “Huh? Why?”
“They told me yesterday that my blind date partner has gone missing. Supposedly, she fell into the sea.”
She paused briefly.
“Hahahahaha!”
Her friend laughed so hard she trembled all over. “Is that real or fake? Did you just witness a brutal, bloody internal feud within a super wealthy family? Don’t tell me it’s going to turn into one of those cliché internet tropes where the wealthy heir loses their memory and ends up wandering among the common folk?”
Laughing like that, it was obvious the friend was treating it entirely as local gossip, with disbelief written all over her face.
Leaving others aside, even Ye Siyu herself found it a bit hard to believe.
With a slightly dark expression, she took a sip of wine. “My aunt’s blood pressure shot up from stressing over this blind date. I need to go back and check on her.”
“It’s too late to leave now. The ship is about to enter international waters. I found a few newly arrived, beautiful girls. In a bit, we’ll draw cards and chips, the highest bidder gets them.”
Ye Siyu clicked her tongue. She really disliked this sort of thing. Ravens were constantly circling in her mind, and the faces of those old foxes on the board of directors flashed by from time to time, inevitably making her feel a bit irritable. “You rich people really know how to enjoy yourselves. I am a proper businesswoman.”
“Ha! You rigid Capricorn, you’ve utterly wasted a face that looks like a masterpiece from Goddess Nuwa.”
Ye Siyu lifted her eyelids to glance at her friend, clinking her glass against the other’s.
Her friend added with a beaming smile, “They are all college students working part time to fund their studies. If they aren’t beautiful, you can give me a bad review, how about that? Can’t this also be called targeted poverty alleviation?”
What a ‘targeted poverty alleviation.’ Ye Siyu was so thoroughly stunned by her friend’s shamelessness that she was completely speechless.
“Whatever floats your boat.”
The lights dimmed, and the atmosphere reached its absolute peak.
The crystal disco ball rotated overhead, the music grew intense, and the champagne bubbles fizzed and surged.
Fragrances wafted through the air amid pleasant laughter.
The waves crashed loudly against the hull, serving as background noise that was entirely swallowed by the passionate atmosphere.
Ye Siyu sat there, looking down at her phone, which had no signal.
She had originally intended to use this time to approve a couple of urgent workflows to speed up a project, but she had temporarily forgotten that there was no cellular reception in international waters. She put her phone down in frustration.
Lifting her gaze.
Standing directly opposite her was a tall woman.
To be precise, it wasn’t just one woman standing there. Rather, in a highly decadent, luxurious, and extravagant display, an entire row of them stood together, each one meticulously styled, delicate, and beautiful.
However, Ye Siyu’s eyes locked solely onto the woman right across from her.
The woman had long, straight black hair that fell softly over her shoulders. The hydrated strands looked like premium silk, gleaming with a healthy luster.
She possessed exceptional facial features with distinct, sharp contours. Her face was very small, her head to shoulder and body proportions were absolutely outstanding, and she was fair skinned and stunning.
Unlike the others, she didn’t wear excessive adornments, but her features carried a striking blend of foreign and Eastern mixed heritage, an instant, absolute beauty.
Only those deep eyes of hers seemed to hold a faint trace of sharpness when she looked at someone.
The spotlights in the cabin flared up, illuminating everyone’s appearances.
The black haired woman instantly seemed to be draped in a layer of brilliant light. Her silk like black hair shone with a dazzling luster. Lifting her gaze, her eyes landed squarely on Ye Siyu’s face and never drifted away again.
Standing there, she seemed to be separated from the others by an invisible wall, looking so beautiful that she appeared to exist in an entirely different artistic layer.
The people sitting on the sofa and the people standing opposite them formed a natural disparity in status. Ye Siyu sat while the black-haired beauty stood. Amid the crowd and the chaotic music, the two of them locked eyes, as if everyone else had ceased to exist.
A single tangling thread seemed to stretch between them, crawling over their necks and spreading to the tops of their heads, carrying the thorns of the forbidden to prick the nerve called reason within each of them.
“Introduce yourselves.”
This was a demand from a superior. The pink-haired friend sitting in the center had spoken, and those standing had no way to refuse.
The girls introduced themselves one by one.
From left to right, but Ye Siyu couldn’t process a single word.
“Ha, this one looks good. I drew a high point value, I want her.”
On the long row of sofas, a crew cut T who was clearly drunk shook the playing cards in her hand.
Only at this moment did Ye Siyu realize she should pay attention to the random chip she had drawn.
Comparing the value of the playing cards, she had unfortunately drawn a four of spades.
As she looked down, the girl nearby had just finished her self-introduction. Ye Siyu only caught the final words, “…working part-time to fund my studies.”
The black-haired beauty lowered her eyes slightly, her gaze shimmering beneath her long lashes. When she looked up again, her eyes were fixed on Ye Siyu.
“I don’t know what my name is.”
The outer corners of her gorgeous eyes tilted upward slightly, framed by thick eyelashes. Right now, the depths of her eyes looked somewhat moist.
As she gazed at Ye Siyu, she seemed to be speaking with her eyes, take me away.
“I seem to have… lost my memory.”
“Jiejie,” she stared at Ye Siyu, the flush at the corners of her eyes making her gaze ripple beautifully. “Give me a name.”
