The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 84
Zhang Qiu has graduated.
She also smoothly passed the Judicial Exam.
Lin Luoluo also smoothly moved up from her sophomore to her junior year.
After starting work, Zhang Qiu became increasingly busy. Lin Luoluo had originally planned to arrange for her to meet her family but was afraid her family would put pressure on Zhang Qiu.
The two had already successfully moved in together. Tonight, Zhang Qiu was working overtime again. When she returned, it was already ten o’clock at night. Lin Luoluo was groggily awakened by a kiss and smelled alcohol on Zhang Qiu.
The scent was very faint, mixed with the cold air on Zhang Qiu’s body, like a light, fresh orange fragrance.
She buried her face in Zhang Qiu’s shoulder and gradually sniffed out a perfume scent that didn’t belong to Zhang Qiu.
It was very feminine.
Lin Luoluo grabbed Zhang Qiu’s collar, slowly climbed on top of her, and gently asked, “What did Jiejie do today?” (Jiejie means ‘older sister’ but is a term of endearment here).
“Took on a new case and met with a client,” Zhang Qiu said lazily, lying on the bed. She thought Lin Luoluo wanted to play with her. Her lips were restless, falling on Lin Luoluo’s cheek, and her hand clasped her waist, trying to pull the person into her arms.
Lin Luoluo blocked her with her arm.
She asked dangerously, “The client was a girl?”
“Hmm?” Zhang Qiu hadn’t sensed the danger yet; her alcohol-addled brain was a bit sluggish. “How do you know?”
“Jiejie isn’t being honest, oh.” Lin Luoluo’s fingertip rested against Zhang Qiu’s lower lip. Just as Zhang Qiu was about to open her mouth to bite it, she got up. “Go wash up, you smell.”
Zhang Qiu looked at Lin Luoluo in confusion, then obediently went to take a shower. Standing in front of the mirror, she looked at her reflection, and her expression suddenly changed.
At some point, a light pink lipstick mark had been smudged on the chest of her shirt.
Zhang Qiu didn’t wear makeup, and recently, due to work needs, she usually chose nude-colored lipstick. This lipstick mark belonged to the client.
Zhang Qiu quickly took off her shirt and went to coax Lin Luoluo.
“Baby, I was wrong.”
She found Lin Luoluo, who was in the kitchen pouring herself a glass of water.
“Wrong about what?” Lin Luoluo asked in a cool tone.
Zhang Qiu heard the coolness in her voice and immediately explained, “I met the client for dinner today. The door to the private room had a threshold. When the client was leaving, she didn’t see it and nearly fell. I pulled her back, and it must have rubbed onto my shirt then.”
“I promise to be careful next time.”
Lin Luoluo took a sip of water, her expression a half-smile.
“Jiejie is having a blast outside, women throwing themselves at you, and drinks to enjoy. Unlike me, who can only guard an empty room every day, waiting for Jiejie to come back.”
Lin Luoluo’s fingertip landed on Zhang Qiu’s chest, tracing her bra strap.
“The world is full of temptations. Jiejie hasn’t had a change of heart, has she?”
Sensing that Lin Luoluo wasn’t angry and was just playing with her on purpose, Zhang Qiu’s voice was full of laughter. She leaned down close, saying, “Jiejie only likes Luo Luo like this. No matter how good the people outside are, they aren’t as attractive to Jiejie as Luo Luo is.”
She kissed Lin Luoluo’s nose, then nibbled her upper lip and rubbed against it.
“You little rascal, I thought you were angry.”
Lin Luoluo leaned back against the cabinet behind her, hooked her arms around Zhang Qiu’s neck, touched her forehead to hers, and laughed. “Has Jiejie forgotten that you submit your entire salary and spend money from my secondary card? I get a transfer notification for every transaction, oh.”
“If Jiejie really did change her mind, I’d just max out Jiejie’s card and turn her into a pauper.”
Lin Luoluo chuckled secretly.
Zhang Qiu’s voice was affectionate: “It’s all for you to spend. Jiejie lacks nothing.”
“Hmph, you only know how to coax me.” Zhang Qiu leaned in to kiss her neck. “Jiejie earns money just so Luo Luo can spend it. The more Luo Luo spends, the happier Jiejie is. Otherwise, Jiejie wouldn’t have any motivation to earn money.”
Lin Luoluo passively accepted, her nails digging into Zhang Qiu’s back.
“Your hand…” she groaned, clamping her legs together.
Zhang Qiu chuckled, looking at the flush on Lin Luoluo’s face, and said softly, “Luo Luo looks so beautiful like this.”
Lin Luoluo’s body trembled. She buried her face into Zhang Qiu’s shoulder, gradually clung to her, and gasped, “My mom wants to meet you.”
Zhang Qiu’s hand shook. Lin Luoluo let out a dissatisfied moan and bit her shoulder.
“Be serious.”
Zhang Qiu turned her head to kiss her, the heat steaming. Lin Luoluo’s forehead was damp with sweat, letting out an evocative muffled groan.
Zhang Qiu pulled her hand away, only to have the little rascal bite the red bud on her chest.
She patted Lin Luoluo’s head.
“Did Auntie say when we’ll meet?”
“Tomorrow.”
Zhang Qiu froze instantly.
“I told her you were busy lately, but she insisted on meeting. I said we could meet for lunch.”
“It’s set at a restaurant near your company. You can just go meet her at noon.”
Zhang Qiu rubbed her forehead, “I’ll take the day off tomorrow.”
Lin Luoluo: “Isn’t your firm currently liquidating a company that filed for bankruptcy? You have so much going on, and you just took on a new case. Can you even get the time off?”
“Yes!” Zhang Qiu gave a definite answer.
The next day, Zhang Qiu was so nervous she didn’t know what to do with her hands and feet. She woke up early and kept asking Lin Luoluo if she was dressed appropriately.
Lin Luoluo saw her dressed primly in slacks and a white shirt and laughed, covering her mouth, “How is this different from what you wear to work? You’re not working today, you can dress more casually.” She said, taking a short-sleeved shirt from the closet.
Zhang Qiu looked at it but still refused.
“I think it’s better to dress formally.”
She even wore high heels and had her hair curled. Next to her, Lin Luoluo, wearing a little skirt, a pink short-sleeve shirt, and pigtails, was instantly dwarfed, looking like a primary school student.
Lin Luoluo looked at her own childish outfit, then at Zhang Qiu, and linked arms with her, saying, “Jiejie looks like she’s taking a kid on an outing, oh.”
Zhang Qiu laughed too.
Lin Luoluo thought about it and went to change. She also changed into a black-and-white outfit—a plaid skirt, a shirt on top, and little leather shoes—and was finally satisfied.
“Let’s go, the car’s here.” Zhang Qiu had called a car. After they finished getting ready, it was just about time.
On the way, Zhang Qiu hesitated, thinking it was the first time meeting Auntie, and she didn’t know what the other person liked, so she bought a bouquet of flowers for Auntie.
At the restaurant, Zhang Qiu grew even more nervous, but the more nervous she was, the more serious she appeared, making her nervousness less obvious.
Lin Luoluo’s mother arrived neither too early nor too late.
They had just arrived when the person came. Upon seeing Zhang Qiu, a gentle smile hung on her face. The meeting wasn’t as tense as Zhang Qiu had imagined.
“Luo Luo has been talking about you for a long time. This is the first time we’ve met today.”
Zhang Qiu politely called out, “Auntie.”
“Have you ordered?”
“Mom, we were waiting for you to order. We’re fine with anything; see what you like to eat.” Lin Luoluo called the waiter to order.
“I’m treating you two little ones to a meal, how can I be the one to order? Let Zhang Qiu order.” She said, pushing the menu over.
It wouldn’t be right to push it back again, so Zhang Qiu took it. After politely asking about any dietary restrictions, she ordered a few dishes.
Lin Luoluo didn’t worry about any of this and was still chatting and laughing with her mother.
Her mother watched her, occasionally glancing at Zhang Qiu, a smile on her face.
When all the dishes were served and they began to eat, the smile on her face deepened.
All the dishes were ones Luo Luo liked, and it was also noted that she couldn’t eat soy products recently. Zhang Qiu had probably asked Luo Luo, knew her recent physical checkup showed high uric acid, and avoided some high-uric-acid foods.
This child is very thoughtful, and her appearance is superior.
Tan Yi nodded internally.
She came to meet Zhang Qiu this time not to make things difficult for them but to see how Luo Luo was doing after moving out for a while.
Many conflicts between young couples begin after cohabitation.
But these two seemed to have become more affectionate.
After the meal, a pot of tea was served, and only then did the formal conversation begin.
The questions Tan Yi asked were all very formal.
“Luo Luo will be graduating soon. I want her to continue with postgraduate studies. You’ve started working now. Have you considered your future together?”
Zhang Qiu straightened up and replied, “If she wants to study, I’ll support her. If she doesn’t want to and wants to do something else, I’ll support her in that too.”
“I’ve just passed the Judicial Exam and obtained my lawyer’s proxy qualification certificate. There’s a one-year observation period, so my salary won’t be very high, but I will work hard to pass this year’s assessment.”
“I want to live with Luo Luo in the future,” Zhang Qiu’s voice softened.
Tan Yi continued, “How will you live without money? Luo Luo’s living expenses are almost entirely covered by the family now. Her monthly food and spending are a significant expense. Do you think your meager income alone can support her?”
“Mom!” Lin Luoluo exclaimed, “Didn’t we agree not to talk about this? Besides, I can earn money too. I don’t need anyone to support me!”
“You can is one thing, but love needs proof. If she doesn’t even have the determination to support you, how can she prove she loves you?”
“Your relationship inherently lacks conventional guarantees. If you don’t even have determination, then it’s better not to be together.”
Her mother’s words left Lin Luoluo speechless.
Zhang Qiu parted her lips and said very seriously, “Auntie, I have thought about the future. I have saved up some money from bonuses and part-time jobs over the years, but it’s not enough. My future focus will definitely be here, so once I earn a little more money, I want to buy a house and put both our names on the title.”
“Although we can’t have guarantees in the conventional sense, I am willing to name Luo Luo as my Designated Guardian.”
“This is the document, please take a look.”
It was the first time Tan Yi had heard of that term. She saw the agreement Zhang Qiu produced. As expected of a lawyer, it seemed she had come prepared this time.
She saw that a Designated Guardian is an adult chosen by a person to be their guardian, the kind who can sign surgical consent forms. Her heart was moved.
She could tell that this child genuinely liked Luo Luo.
Regardless of what the future held, she at least had this intention now.
This greatly relieved Tan Yi.
She smiled, “Don’t show this to me; show it to Luo Luo. If she agrees, that’s fine.”
Lin Luoluo was stunned and nudged Zhang Qiu’s hand.
When did she prepare this? Why didn’t she know?
Tan Yi said, “I didn’t come here to make things difficult for you two. I just wanted to see what kind of person my daughter likes. Now that I’ve met you, I think she has excellent taste.”
The smile on Tan Yi’s face was gentle.
“I’ve spoiled this daughter since she was small. I know she will leave home someday, but I still wish she could grow up slowly. Yet, time waits for no one, and I hope she finds a good partner.”
“Now, I truly feel relieved.”
After seeing her mother off, Lin Luoluo stared at Zhang Qiu for a long time.
Zhang Qiu took her hand and asked, “What are you looking at?”
“When did you prepare this? I didn’t know.”
Zhang Qiu touched her nose and said, “Not long ago. My professor took on a case recently, a breakup lawsuit between a same-sex couple. I looked up the term Designated Guardian and thought it was very suitable for us.”
“Then why didn’t you take it out sooner?”
Zhang Qiu was silent for a moment.
“I thought it was a bit too early to take it out now. I wanted to wait a little longer.”
“Wait for what?” Lin Luoluo fixed her gaze on her.
Zhang Qiu smiled at her.
“Tell me!” Lin Luoluo got anxious, shaking Zhang Qiu’s hand.
Zhang Qiu finally mumbled, “Wait for the day we get married.”
Lin Luoluo froze, then asked after a while, “You want to marry me?”
“Mhm.” Zhang Qiu nodded, her voice sounding a little uneasy. “I don’t know why, but in my dreams, I’m always losing you. I thought after we got married, maybe I wouldn’t have that dream anymore.”
Lin Luoluo knew about Zhang Qiu’s dreams.
She would always wake up startled, holding her tightly in the deep of the night.
That was the past life and present life she had once mentioned.
Lin Luoluo curved her lips into a smile, “The day after tomorrow is a holiday, right?”
“Huh?” Zhang Qiu looked down at her.
“Let’s go get married!” Lin Luoluo said loudly. “If we can’t do it domestically, then let’s go abroad.”
“42 hours is enough time for us to make a connecting flight.”
It was a truly impulsive action. The two left right away, grabbing their passports and ID cards, starting a 42-hour trip. Even after getting the marriage certificate, Zhang Qiu still felt like she was dreaming.
“I wonder if this will get me extra credits?” Lin Luoluo was still contemplating when Zhang Qiu pinched her chin and kissed her.
It was a deep kiss, as if she used all her strength to love.
Zhang Qiu lowered her head and pressed her forehead against Lin Luoluo’s. She said, “Now you can sign.”
“From now on, through sickness and in health, we will be together.”
Through sickness and in health, you are my Designated Guardian. We only belong to each other.
The blank agreement was signed with both their names. Amidst the solemn vows at the notary’s office, they completed the most important moment of their lives.
White doves flew over the church, and the wedding march played on the piano.
Angels were blessing them. They were happy.
