The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 18
Student Council?
Lin Luoluo suddenly thought of the task sponsored by the student council. She should have considered it long ago, but the system’s sudden disruption made her almost forget about it.
Lin Luoluo nodded, “It’s fine.”
She wasn’t intentionally hiding her disagreement with Fang Duo, but last time, Zhang Qiu said that Fang Duo was just serious and responsible about her work. Lin Luoluo didn’t want to spend the remaining short time arguing with Zhang Qiu about whether Fang Duo was good or bad.
Zhang Qiu looked at her deeply.
“You’ve just joined, so there must be things you’re not used to. If anything feels wrong, you can tell me.”
“Don’t take what Gu Beichen said to heart. I think you’re capable of handling the external sponsorship. If you need any help, you can open up to me.”
Lin Luoluo nodded and smiled at Zhang Qiu, “If you worry so much, you’re going to turn into a little old lady.”
“Besides, there’s nothing in the Student Council I can’t handle.”
She winked at Zhang Qiu, “Today is our date, let’s not mention anyone else, okay?”
Zhang Qiu was startled, then laughed softly.
“So this is a date.”
“Can’t two girls go on a date?” Lin Luoluo tilted her head and looked at her, her eyes innocent. “Or, have you never been on a date with a girl besides me?”
“No, I haven’t.” Zhang Qiu looked intently at Lin Luoluo. “No one else is as cute as you.”
Lin Luoluo felt her cheeks heat up from the flirtation. She avoided Zhang Qiu’s eyes and changed the subject, “Why hasn’t the food been served yet?”
“There are a lot of people during lunchtime, it should be our turn soon.”
Before long, the originally peaceful restaurant was filled with diners and started to become noisy.
Lin Luoluo lowered her head to drink water to cover her embarrassment. Zhang Qiu took a blue envelope out of her bag and pushed it toward her.
“I had a lot going on these past few days. I wanted to give this to you right after the drama club performance but never found a chance.”
Lin Luoluo thought the envelope looked very familiar.
“This is the one you asked Senior Sister Zuo to hand to Gu Beichen. I haven’t opened it. The last time I came to see you, I also wanted to give you this letter, but you weren’t very friendly to me.” Zhang Qiu shrugged, “What I said last time was a bit harsh, don’t worry about it.”
Lin Luoluo’s memory flashed back, recalling what Zhang Qiu had said on the day she confessed.
[Come chase him again when you grow taller.]
Hmph!
Lin Luoluo puffed out her cheeks, looking at Zhang Qiu. After a moment, she smiled. She never expected that one day she would be sitting and eating with the female lead with such a good relationship.
She glanced down at the envelope, her voice very low.
“Maybe it wasn’t given to the wrong person?”
“Sorry for the wait. Your dishes are all here. Is there anything else you need?”
The waitress’s voice as she served the food interrupted the two of them, and also interrupted the words that had slipped out of Lin Luoluo’s mouth. Zhang Qiu looked at Lin Luoluo with a puzzled expression, not having heard clearly.
Lin Luoluo’s heart skipped a beat. She rubbed her cheeks. That seemingly impulsive sentence had just popped out.
Her heart was pounding, and her face was very red. Fortunately, there was a waitress serving food between the two of them, so they couldn’t see each other clearly. After a long time, when the dishes were all served, Lin Luoluo’s heartbeat finally returned to normal.
“What did you just say?” Zhang Qiu asked.
Lin Luoluo shook her head, “Nothing.”
She gave a silly laugh and picked up the envelope on the table.
This letter was prepared by the system; she hadn’t read it at all.
Because she didn’t know Gu Beichen well, Lin Luoluo had no idea what to write. This was written by the system, imitating the tone of the villainess.
The stationery and envelope were also chosen by the system, as the system’s data showed that Gu Beichen liked blue.
Lin Luoluo didn’t care about the content of the letter, nor was she curious about what was inside. She casually put it into her bag, thinking it would be better to deal with this letter when she got home. After all, tearing it up or throwing it away in front of Zhang Qiu wouldn’t fit her current persona of a girl bitterly in love with the male lead, even though Lin Luoluo didn’t like that arrogant guy at all.
Lin Luoluo said, “I thought you would hate me, given that I’m essentially your love rival.”
“It’s not worth it over a man,” Zhang Qiu shook her head. “There’s nothing wrong with liking someone, but we shouldn’t become unrecognizable just because we like a person.”
She looked at Lin Luoluo tenderly and smiled, “Why should you change into a person you don’t like for someone else? I like you best when you’re this energetic.”
Lin Luoluo knew her face was flushed again.
She stammered a couple of times, then simply gave up resisting and said with a red face, “You’re the first person to say this to me. I like you too.”
Perhaps it was the kind of affection for a friend, just a little bit of crossing the line.
Friendship was essentially no different from love.
Both were forms of love, and both could cause jealousy and joy.
Lin Luoluo thought, it really was only a little bit of liking. She couldn’t abandon her family in another world for Zhang Qiu, so it was just a little bit.
Zhang Qiu smiled. Lin Luoluo had seemed lethargic when she first entered, but now she was finally restored after a few words.
Actually, from the first time she saw Lin Luoluo, Zhang Qiu found her jumping around to be very amusing. She was clearly short, yet she insisted on doing grand things, like rescuing the kitten stuck in the tree.
Lin Luoluo might not know, but the confession was not the first time the two had met.
When she first transferred schools, Zhang Qiu had already seen her when Senior Sister Zuo Jinwei was showing her around the campus.
At that time, Fang Duo had rushed to find Zhang Qiu, telling her that Gu Beichen’s childhood friend had returned from abroad and transferred to their school. On the way to find Gu Beichen, they encountered Lin Luoluo climbing a ladder to rescue a kitten.
Zhang Qiu had already been considering breaking up with Gu Beichen for a long time. This wasn’t a rash decision made during an argument; she had been thinking about it since the third month of their relationship. Gu Beichen wanted to kiss her, but Zhang Qiu blocked him.
She said she didn’t like physical intimacy, so the two only held hands and never kissed, having a relationship purer than elementary schoolers.
Zhang Qiu knew Gu Beichen respected her.
Gu Beichen seemed arrogant and domineering, but he had never actually been in a relationship.
He was very different from Mu Yunchun; inwardly, he was very pure and didn’t even know how to date, only knowing how to be good to her in his own way.
Zhang Qiu had brought up breaking up several times over the past three years, but Gu Beichen had always refused. Since they didn’t have any major conflicts, Gu Beichen thought Zhang Qiu was joking.
However, because of those few attempted breakups, the men around Zhang Qiu completely disappeared, except for Gu Beichen’s few friends, because Gu Beichen knew that with the pride of Dongfang Qing, Mu Yunchun, and Lin Xiangdong, they wouldn’t compete with him for a girlfriend.
Sometimes, Zhang Qiu didn’t know how to handle Gu Beichen’s kind of affection, so she simply procrastinated until Lin Luoluo appeared.
She felt she might be asexual because she lacked a sexual drive toward either males or females.
