The Protagonist 'Gong' Became my Wife - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: Reunion
On a deserted star where not a single soul remained, even the sun was too lazy to spare a sliver of light to illuminate the land.
Mechas landed one after another on the gravel-strewn ground, their deep gray hulls almost blending perfectly into the environment.
The cannons mounted on the mechas were ready, their sharp edges suddenly reflecting a blinding flash of white light.
“Found him. Chase him down!”
The voice, transformed by a special device, was gender-neutral.
The mechas trailing behind heard the command and activated their engines, flying out one after another.
Their destination was the direction from which the white light emanated.
Host! Please stop! You’ve been running for three days and nights without sleep. You won’t hold out much longer if this continues!
77 calculated the most likely escape routes at high speed, its small hands already clutching Gu Zhuo’s clothes.
Because his clothes were covered in blood, it could only grab a slightly cleaner corner.
Gu Zhuo remained unmoved, skillfully operating the mecha. Rolling, jumping, dodging his maneuvers were extremely precise.
“No, I still need to make one last space jump to return to the Federation. It’s still dangerous here; I can’t let all my efforts go to waste at the finish line.”
He then pursed his pale lips.
“77, please help me one more time.”
Originally, once the mission was completed, 77 was supposed to leave after bringing Gu Zhuo back to a point just before his timeline of death.
However, thirty minutes wasn’t enough for Gu Zhuo to escape to a safe place; he would likely be besieged again.
Therefore, 77 did not click to submit the task. Instead, it used its high-level technology to help Gu Zhuo escape.
This escape had lasted for three days.
77 looked up proudly.
It’s rare for you to beg me, Host! But don’t worry! We’re friends; I won’t leave now!
The mecha was charging up bit by bit, waiting for the right moment to shake off the pursuers and initiate another space jump.
The horn of victory was about to sound; Gu Zhuo’s bloodshot eyes flashed with a burning light.
The progress bar was nearly full.
99%…
With a “Boom.”
The control screen lit up with a red light, indicating that the last shot had damaged the mecha’s lower right limb, and the energy accumulation had stopped automatically.
To restart, he would have to wait half an hour.
Gu Zhuo slammed the console hard, his palm turning red and the tiny, dense wounds on it splitting open again.
77 was so scared it didn’t dare move, comforting him in a trembling voice.
Host, stay calm! You forgot the one behind you is just a small fry. As long as you take him out now and find a place to hide, you’ll survive the half-hour quickly!
Gu Zhuo stood up abruptly, drew the photon gun from his waist, and jumped cleanly out of the mecha’s cockpit.
He left 77 inside to control partial permissions and provide cover for him outside.
Gu Zhuo’s movements were agile, like a fish swimming between the two mechas.
Inside the other mecha, Lanchi, once one of Gu Zhuo’s most fanatical suitors was cheering in the cockpit.
According to the rules, the former “Light of the Empire” was about to become his possession!
Three days ago, he and the Imperial Prince had meticulously planned Gu Zhuo’s birthday banquet, all to claim this exquisite and beautiful Omega on the day he came of age.
Their group of friends had joined in, seeing absolutely nothing wrong with this behavior.
After all, the Empire’s military was far ahead of the Federation. The Empire would eventually annex the Federation and become the strongest empire in the universe.
And they, as the most noble descendants of the Empire, were born with everything. They never failed to get what they wanted.
When they first met Gu Zhuo, they only felt he was like a snow lotus blooming on a glacier—cold, but truly beautiful.
His indifferent nature really stimulated a desire for conquest. Lanchi and his group all developed a deep interest in Gu Zhuo.
They were just waiting for Gu Zhuo to reach adulthood.
Unfortunately, Gu Zhuo was not a flower in a greenhouse. Seeming to sense their intentions, he fled directly in a mecha.
The Imperial Prince felt humiliated and summoned Lanchi and the others to retrieve Gu Zhuo.
He promised that whoever brought him back could keep him.
Lanchi didn’t originally have the strength for this, but he had good luck.
A shot he fired blindly with a stroke of luck actually hit Gu Zhuo’s mecha.
He grinned from ear to ear and wasn’t in a hurry to go out. He swiveled leisurely in his chair and took out his light computer, preparing to report the good news to the group.
Because of this, he didn’t see Gu Zhuo jumping off the mecha, radiating aggressive Alpha pheromones.
He had come to claim his life.
“Knock, knock.”
There was a knock on the cockpit.
Lanchi sent out the message, thinking the weak Omega had been frightened and was coming to seek comfort.
So, he opened the cockpit door without hesitation.
“Puchi.”
The photon gun shot through his heart. A drop of blood splattered near the corner of Gu Zhuo’s eye like a red mole.
Lanchi thought dizzily.
Still so good-looking, but why does he smell like Alpha pheromones!
Soon, he couldn’t even think.
Gu Zhuo kicked him out of the mecha, clapped his hands, and brought back all the energy blocks he could see.
77 took the energy blocks and restarted the charging mode.
During the wait, Gu Zhuo finally had time to close his eyes.
As his mind relaxed slightly, his glands couldn’t help but release the scent of pheromones.
Gu Zhuo frowned and pulled 77 over, wanting to buy a suppressor.
He had been in his rut these past few days. The suppressors originally hidden on the mecha were long gone, and now he could only turn to 77 for help.
77 hugged itself warily.
No, Host! Your body has reached its limit; you must rest immediately. If you inject another suppressor, something uncontrollable might happen!
77 had read through the physiology books of the ABO world and was very clear about this.
Gu Zhuo slumped lazily in the pilot’s seat, his whole body burning with heat, and cold sweat soon broke out on his forehead.
“Don’t worry. Can it get any worse than this? 77, give me the suppressor. If you don’t, I really won’t have a chance to escape.”
If the pheromones of the rut leaked out, all the mechas chasing nearby would be attracted. If they found out he was an Alpha, his identity would definitely be exposed.
By then, the Federation would not be able to avoid a fierce battle.
77 reluctantly used its last points to exchange for a suppressor.
As the cold liquid entered his veins, Gu Zhuo’s arms bulged with veins from the discomfort.
He thought that if Jiang Yanning were here, he would have released his pheromones to coax him long ago out of heartache.
If he just squeezed out two tears, Jiang Yanning would obediently offer the back of his neck and let him bite however he wanted.
Unfortunately, Jiang Yanning wasn’t here.
Gu Zhuo blinked, suppressing the urge to cry.
After resting for a while, he prepared to start the mecha and make the space jump.
Just as he was about to press the red button…
Densely packed mechas suddenly appeared all around him.
In the lead deep-gray mecha, that same gender-neutral voice spoke.
“Xiao Zhuo? Come back. Stop thinking about escaping from our side.”
Gu Zhuo felt nauseous with disgust and retorted bluntly.
“Prince, we have no relationship. You have no right to restrict my freedom. Please let me leave.”
“How can you say that? Xiao Zhuo, as long as you stay, you will be my Crown Princess. You will share the entire Empire with me.”
Facing this temptation, Gu Zhuo didn’t even move an eyebrow.
“No thanks, not interested.”
The Prince gave a strange laugh.
With a wave of his hand, the dense mechas surrounded Gu Zhuo.
“You refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit. Xiao Zhuo, I didn’t want to use such ungentle methods.”
Gu Zhuo’s face finally darkened. Surrounded here, he had no way to escape.
However, if he fought with all his might, he could drag these scumbags to hell with him.
He moved his finger away from the red button and pressed another one instead.
He didn’t look back, but 77 knew what he wanted to say.
“77, there is a chip buried near my fourth rib on the left. When I die, send this chip back to the Federation. I know you can do it. I’m willing to give you all the points after the mission settlement. Please.”
But… but you’re about to go back! Are you willing to die so close to home?
77 scrambled for reasons, flustered to the point its wings were hitting each other, finally falling into Gu Zhuo’s palm.
Gu Zhuo smiled.
“I didn’t do all this just to go home. After my mother died, the Federation was no longer my home. I just want to use my final value to save the people of the Federation.”
He didn’t want to spend the rest of his life in a world without Jiang Yanning.
Thinking of it this way, dying here wasn’t that regrettable.
He took out a small dagger, sliced open the flesh there, and removed the chip.
77 choked up as it took the chip and hid it in its system space.
Gu Zhuo turned on the microphone in the cockpit for the last time.
“If you want to fight, then fight. Stop the nonsense!”
On the control screen, his fingers flew. Gu Zhuo maneuvered the mecha, which was missing a leg, through the battlefield.
Energy blocks were consumed one after another. Two hours passed.
Gu Zhuo’s ten fingers couldn’t stop trembling. Although he issued commands, the shells didn’t hit their targets.
It turned out he didn’t even have weapons left.
But the enemies weren’t doing much better.
The only ones still struggling to stand were the Imperial Prince and his two strongest subordinates.
They also had no weapons left.
The Prince had long lost his initial contempt. He spoke with a raspy voice, trying to bargain.
“Xiao Zhuo, we both have no weapons left. There’s no point in continuing the fight. Why don’t we both take a step back? If you come with me, I won’t hold today’s events against you. After all, you killed so many noble children; only I can protect you now.”
Gu Zhuo pushed himself up from the back of the chair and rotated his aching wrists.
“Who says there’s no point? As long as I have a breath left today, it’s impossible for me to let you go!”
As the words fell, all four of them were ejected from their cockpits because the mechas lost power.
Gu Zhuo’s vision blurred as a bottle of pungent pheromones exploded in front of him.
A rich floral scent drifted into his nostrils. He recognized it as an Omega heat-inducing agent.
The Prince had actually become so despicable as to use this method to win against an Omega during combat.
Unfortunately, Gu Zhuo was an Alpha.
This agent originally had no effect on him, but he just happened to be in his rut recently.
The pheromones that had been forcibly suppressed by the medicine began to run wild again.
At this point, Gu Zhuo saw no need to hide anymore. He charged at the Prince with his dagger.
He completely blocked the sentence “You’re actually an Alpha” in the Prince’s throat.
It was also fortunate that his subordinates were quite arrogant and didn’t take Gu Zhuo seriously at all.
Only when they found the Prince was dead did they start to panic.
If they didn’t bring Gu Zhuo’s head back to report, they wouldn’t survive either!
Another battle began.
Gu Zhuo was ultimately affected by his rut. Even a body made of iron couldn’t withstand such high-intensity exercise.
Finally, he was sent flying by a punch, landing heavily next to his mecha.
“77, give me another suppressor.”
77 didn’t respond.
The next attack came crashing down.
Gu Zhuo’s bloody, mangled fingers weakly grasped a handful of gravel from the ground. He closed his eyes, preparing to welcome his death.
The wind from the fist stirred the stray hairs on his forehead, but the expected pain never arrived.
In the silent environment, a sudden rhythmic sound of footsteps echoed.
Gu Zhuo didn’t open his eyes, feeling that even the heavens didn’t want him to live.
The footsteps drew closer, and with them came a familiar sweet fragrance.
When these pheromones landed on Gu Zhuo, they were like a gentle breeze, soothing his tense nerves.
But when they landed on those two subordinates, they felt like the weight of Mount Tai, causing their legs to buckle and making them kneel straight onto the ground.
The dull thud made Gu Zhuo snap back to his senses.
He looked up in disbelief. Because his eye was injured, a red mist of blood covered his vision, making things a bit blurry.
The man carrying a cannon walked closer, easily kicking the two subordinates to the ground.
With one shot, he sent them to the afterlife.
He seemed surprised for a moment that this weapon was so powerful.
In the next second, he tossed the light cannon aside.
Walking to Gu Zhuo’s side, he gently took him into his arms.
The man raised his hand, wiping the bloodstains from Gu Zhuo’s beautiful face one by one, his voice full of heartache.
“It’s only been how long, and you’ve made yourself like this? You little brat, I let you go, but not so you could be bullied.”
