The Popular Darling Says She’s Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 8
The Transmigration Diary 8
Wen Shiyu paced the living room awkwardly by herself. Suddenly, she spotted the lollipop that had fallen to the floor and scratched her head.
Why did Seraphina kiss her?
Was she just too deprived of pheromones?
Wen Shiyu’s “straight girl” logic quickly found a plausible reason, and she felt a lot more at peace. It seemed she had underestimated the influence of pheromones on an Omega—especially a pregnant one. Even if those pheromones were only “imaginary.”
Well, things were settled now; her “pheromones” were accounted for, but she could probably forget about ever being friends with Seraphina. Even if she had pretended not to care just now, the reality was that she still needed Seraphina to agree to grant her family the loan.
As Wen Shiyu waited in a state of worry, Su Yan finally emerged from the study. Upon coming out, she saw Wen Shiyu squatting on the ground in a daze, mindlessly waving a small lollipop back and forth.
Perhaps because of her height, the young girl’s silhouette—enveloped in the standard school uniform—revealed a natural slenderness in her squatting posture. The lines of her waist were faintly visible, and her legs looked exceptionally long. It was a casual pose, yet it possessed an aesthetic quality akin to a professional photograph.
However, the moment Wen Shiyu saw her, she stood up immediately like a startled deer, instinctively hiding the lollipop behind her back. Her eyes darted around, and her face wore the guilty expression of a child who had been caught doing something wrong.
Su Yan wasn’t sure what to make of it. Surely she wasn’t afraid of being scolded for eating a lollipop?
For her part, Wen Shiyu felt that Su Yan’s expression was noticeably heavier than before she had entered the room; she kept her brow furrowed while staring at her. It was quite intimidating.
She instinctively looked toward Seraphina, only to find that Seraphina was also frowning. Seraphina’s gaze swept between Wen Shiyu and Su Yan.
“You go back first,” Seraphina suddenly spoke, addressing Su Yan.
Su Yan didn’t move an inch. “What about her?” she asked, pointing at Wen Shiyu.
“She’s staying,” Seraphina replied curtly.
Su Yan fell silent for a moment. She looked at Seraphina again, her tone carrying a hint of unmistakable confusion. “I really don’t know when you two became so close. Is there something you can do together that I can’t participate in?”
“…”
“Su Yan,” Seraphina said, crossing her arms. “You are my good friend, not my Alpha. I don’t need to report every detail of my life to you.”
Su Yan lowered her eyes. She seemed accustomed to such words. “Aunt Isabella asked me to look after you.”
“I said I’ll handle it myself.”
Perhaps sensing Seraphina’s displeasure, Su Yan finally took a step back. “Fine. Then… contact me if anything happens.”
Watching Su Yan’s figure disappear out the door, Wen Shiyu finally let out a quiet sigh of relief. But before she could finish exhaling, she looked up and met Seraphina’s still-tightly-furrowed brow.
“What are you so nervous for?” Seraphina asked, her tone somewhat strange.
Wen Shiyu felt a bit helpless. The Eldest Miss of the Cavendish family could, of course, afford to fear no one. But Wen Shiyu was all alone with no one to rely on. If she remembered correctly, Su Yan’s father was a heavyweight in the military. Su Yan herself had been trained since childhood; she could take down three bodyguards barehanded. At times, her physique truly made her look like a well-trained female assassin.
If she really wanted to teach Wen Shiyu a lesson, how could Wen Shiyu not be nervous?
However, now that Su Yan was gone, business came first. Wen Shiyu cleared her throat and deliberately walked a few steps closer to Seraphina.
“So? Do you want to kiss me again?”
Seraphina pursed her lips and lifted her chin to look at her.
“You should know that my pheromones aren’t given away for free. If you want more, you definitely have to give me money.”
Wen Shiyu said this with the intention of provoking Seraphina’s resentment and rejection. Then, she could smoothly “act hurt,” admit she truly couldn’t control the other girl, and subsequently beg her—for the sake of their “transaction”—to at least help resolve the family loan issue. After all, Seraphina didn’t know about the private agreement regarding tuition fees between Wen Shiyu and Lady Cavendish.
But to Wen Shiyu’s absolute shock, Seraphina kept her arms crossed and instead asked, “How much money do you want?”
Wen Shiyu froze. Her brain scrambled to keep up. “That… it would definitely have to be a lot.” She struggled to name a figure she thought was exaggerated enough to deter the other girl. “Ten… ten million.”
“Ten million for a kiss?”
“Wen Shiyu, you aren’t worth that much.”
Despite saying that, Seraphina suddenly lunged forward. She actually grabbed Wen Shiyu and practically slammed her lips against hers, kissing her provocatively.
“?”
Wen Shiyu’s eyes widened.
When they pulled apart, Seraphina’s face was instantly flushed, yet she struggled to maintain her composure as if she didn’t care at all.
“I won’t give it to you,” Seraphina said righteously. “All of this is your fault to begin with. You were the one stupid enough to think you could control me with such a low-level method. Not only will I not give you money, but I’m going to make you my slave. You’ll have to do whatever I say.”
“…” Wen Shiyu was completely dumbfounded.
What did that have to do with the sudden kiss?
“You… didn’t you want to avoid intimate contact with me?”
“Of course I don’t want it,” Seraphina said. “I hate you to death. I’d rather stay far away from you and just smell your pheromones through the air. But Wen Shiyu, you aren’t releasing them!”
Wen Shiyu was left speechless by those words.
“I knew it… you’re just that greedy and that foolish.” Seraphina kept staring at her, her breathing becoming hurried. Her cheeks were crimson—whether from anger or something else was unclear. “You think that one day I won’t be able to take it, that I’ll surrender and listen to you, don’t you? Fine, then let’s kiss.”
Her face was bright red, her eyes stubborn. “Who’s afraid of who?”
Wait, what?
Was Seraphina trying to force her to release her pheromones? But she truly couldn’t release them! She didn’t even have a way to admit defeat!
Before Wen Shiyu could speak, Seraphina—as if competing with her—stood on her tiptoes and kissed her again.
“Mmph.”
Wen Shiyu was “forcefully kissed” while being held by the collar.
In truth, Seraphina was also feeling very dizzy. Her face was scorching, her heart was thumping wildly, and her hands had gone soft. But she believed the other person was suffering too. Yet, Wen Shiyu still refused to release her pheromones.
Seraphina gritted her teeth. Incredibly green and awkward, she extended the tip of her tongue, gently prying open Wen Shiyu’s teeth to explore inside.
“!!” Wen Shiyu’s eyes snapped wide open.
At the moment of actual contact, Seraphina herself felt as though she had been struck by a weak electric current. Her waist went weak, and she could barely support herself. Just as she was about to lose her strength and slide down, Wen Shiyu finally used force to push her away.
The two separated again, both panting heavily with faces flushed red.
Wen Shiyu had never imagined in her life that she would kiss a girl like this. If she could actually release pheromones, she might have actually given in and released them in that situation. But she hadn’t; she really hadn’t!
“You… at the very least, you have to give my family the loan first. If my family really goes bankrupt, you won’t even see me at school anymore. Let alone making me some kind of slave.”
The threat sounded a bit childish, but it was the only leverage she could think of right now.
Seraphina’s chest heaved. She was also breathless, yet she forced herself to tilt her chin up. “I said, you are the one asking me for a favor. It depends on your performance.”
Wen Shiyu got a little anxious. “But what if my family goes bankrupt?”
Seraphina shook her head, looking at her as if she were an idiot. “Do you think the process for a commercial loan is that simple? From application, assessment, and negotiation to final disbursement, it takes at least a month or two, if not longer. If you behave well, I might be able to lower the interest rate for your family, increase the credit limit a bit, and… speed up the process a tiny bit.”
“…” Wen Shiyu was speechless.
So, all that talk about the “final deadline” before was a lie?
The two of them remained at the distance they had been while kissing, with only the sound of their slightly hurried breathing intertwining in the quiet living room. After a while, Wen Shiyu broke the silence in a small voice.
“Then… do you still need pheromones now?”
She had no other options left; she could only agree to “behave well” as Seraphina suggested.
Seraphina bit her lip. “Are you still refusing to release your pheromones?”
“…” At this point, Wen Shiyu had simply given up. “Fine, I just like kissing you!”
Seraphina’s face turned even redder.
“Then kiss me!” Who cared? She wouldn’t show any weakness.
As Seraphina spoke, she actually closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling violently from nervousness. Wen Shiyu looked at the beautiful and stubborn face so close to her. Having no other choice, she leaned in as well.
This time, the kiss was gentler than before, but deeper and slower. Wen Shiyu followed Seraphina’s previous lead and met her tongue with her own.
Seraphina immediately let out an extremely faint nasal hum. Her body seemed to lose all strength in an instant. Wen Shiyu cradled her cheeks and slowly pressed her back against the soft sofa cushions of the living room.
Both were wearing school uniform skirts; the skin of their legs inevitably brushed together, gradually generating a slight sheen of sweat. Seraphina was clearly not good at regulating her breathing during a kiss. Before long, she appeared oxygen-deprived, her entire face flushed bright red, her breathing erratic.
She suddenly reached out to push Wen Shiyu away, saying urgently, “I… that’s enough…”
Wen Shiyu didn’t understand immediately. She tried to stand up but accidentally pressed against Seraphina’s leg instead. Seraphina groaned again.
When Wen Shiyu looked up, she discovered that the pair of fluffy, light-brown rabbit ears had once again popped out from Seraphina’s hair. They drooped softly against the sides of her face. At the same time, Wen Shiyu felt something small and fluffy under the hem of the skirt, trembling tightly against them.
It was a clenched rabbit tail.
Wen Shiyu froze. Again?
It seemed this was a very common physiological occurrence. The rabbit fur—overall golden with only the tips being brown—looked incredibly soft. It was actually… quite cute.
However, Seraphina felt as if she were being burned by Wen Shiyu’s gaze. She hurriedly pulled at her skirt and instinctively pressed her legs together. “What are you looking at?”
Immediately following that, she snapped, “I hate you! Get out… get out!”
Wen Shiyu was practically half-chased out of the small villa. Standing in the cool evening breeze, she was still a bit dazed, her mind a chaotic mess.
How did things… end up like this? Was this right?
It’s fine, right? It’s all for the family loan.
Wen Shiyu finally scratched her head and started to walk away. However, just as she stepped off the garden path in front of the villa, she saw a tall figure standing under the streetlamp.
Su Yan hadn’t left; she was waiting outside.
Crap! Wen Shiyu’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively wanted to turn around and take another path. But it was too late. Su Yan had already turned her head, her gaze locking onto her with precision.
Wen Shiyu could only stop awkwardly. She watched as Su Yan walked over and stood before her, Su Yan’s gaze drifting seemingly unintentionally across her lips.
” Did you ‘take a wrong turn’ this time as well?”
Wen Shiyu: “…”
