The Popular Darling Says She’s Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 26
Seraphina slowly approached, stood on her tiptoes, and kissed Wen Shiyu’s lips.
Wen Shiyu once again tasted that familiar, sweet peach flavor.
Previously, it hadn’t seemed quite so obvious.
This time, as Seraphina drew close, she could even faintly smell a light, lingering fragrance.
This proactive kiss quickly caused the breathing of both women to become hurried, and it was hard to tell whose heart was beating faster.
Seraphina seemed to have been drained of her strength; she reached out to hook her arms around Wen Shiyu’s neck, leaning her entire soft body against her, letting out a satisfied purr like a kitten from the back of her throat.
On one hand, Wen Shiyu was a bit dizzy from being kissed; on the other hand, she was struggling. One of her hands was quietly groping behind her, still trying to open the door and escape.
With great difficulty, she finally touched the doorknob.
However, Seraphina suddenly grabbed her collar and forcefully pulled her away from the door.
“Hold me…” Her voice carried a slight pant after the kiss. She led Wen Shiyu toward the bed.
Then she repeated it, this time in a lower voice, her ears flushing crimson.
“You have to stay… until I am satisfied.”
Before Wen Shiyu could decide what to do, Seraphina suddenly grabbed her collar again and pulled her close.
“And this time, you are not allowed to sneak away while sleeping!”
It seemed she felt Wen Shiyu was not trustworthy.
She suddenly let go, turned around, and rummaged through the corner of the nightstand drawer, pulling out a belt. She threaded the strap through the ring on the collar around Wen Shiyu’s neck and then gripped the other end firmly in her hand.
Wen Shiyu’s eyes widened in surprise.
Seraphina, however, laughed because of this small bit of control. Her cheeks were rosy, and she looked quite proud of herself.
Her face moved extremely close, her small nose almost brushing against Wen Shiyu’s cheek.
“I told you, you are my servant.”
“Now…”
Seraphina’s breath hitched for a moment.
“Kiss me.”
…
The next day, when Wen Shiyu woke up in the dim light of dawn, Seraphina was still clinging to her like a koala.
Her beautiful long golden hair was scattered across the pillow. Her eyelashes were long, and she was sleeping deeply.
Actually… making Seraphina satisfied… wasn’t too difficult.
But the two of them had been holding each other while sleeping.
This “little rabbit,” who had just tasted such sweetness for the first time, would unconsciously rub against her… and then start demanding more.
The two of them had tossed and turned until the middle of the night before finally falling into a true sleep.
At this moment, the entire nest of blankets, and even the bedsheets, seemed to retain a trace of honey-peach fragrance.
Fortunately, it was still early outside; the sun had just jumped above the sea level.
Wen Shiyu carefully, bit by bit, moved Seraphina’s arm away from her waist.
During the movement, she remembered the strap around her neck.
Wen Shiyu couldn’t help but blush.
While sleeping, Seraphina had actually tied the other end to her own wrist, seemingly unafraid of hurting her wrist.
Wen Shiyu held her breath and spent a good deal of effort untying the knot on the collar. Then, like a thief, she bit by bit extracted herself from Seraphina’s unconscious embrace and slipped out of the bedroom.
Having managed not to wake the difficult young lady, Wen Shiyu breathed a sigh of relief in the hallway. Just as she looked up, she ran straight into Su Yan, who was preparing to head out.
Seeing her, Su Yan was also a bit surprised: “You’re up this early?”
Wen Shiyu’s heart skipped a beat.
Why was Su Yan up so early?
Oh, right. She liked morning exercise.
Heavens, does she really have to go for a run even while vacationing on an island!
An awkward expression flashed across Wen Shiyu’s face. She didn’t dare mention whose room she had just come out of.
She could only say vaguely: “…Um, because I thought, maybe I could go surfing.”
Su Yan’s eyes lit up. “Do you want to continue practicing surfing? That works. The wave conditions should be just right now, let’s go together.”
Wen Shiyu had told a lie and her face turned red. She could only bite the bullet and nod: “…Okay, wait for me a moment, I’ll change my clothes.”
A short while later, at the edge of the white sandy beach, Wen Shiyu and Su Yan stood in waist-deep seawater, both stepping on surfboards.
Su Yan held Wen Shiyu’s arm, helping her adjust her center of gravity and foot placement: “Bend your knees a bit more, tighten your core, look in the direction you want to go, don’t look down at the board… Yes, just like that. Feel the push of the wave instead of resisting it.”
Another gentle wave surged over, and Wen Shiyu concentrated on maintaining her balance.
Su Yan’s gaze, however, was fixed on Wen Shiyu.
She suddenly spoke softly: “Does Seraphina’s… illness… bother you a lot?”
Wen Shiyu was stunned and turned her head to look at her.
“She wants to bully you because she firmly believes you did something bad to her once; this is somewhat inevitable.”
“But if you feel wronged or find it hard to cope, you can tell me. I can try to communicate with her.”
Wen Shiyu lowered her head, her gaze falling on the rippling seawater, unsure of how to answer for a moment.
Was she wronged? Seraphina kept saying she wanted to “punish” her, but in reality, aside from those haughty commands and excessive intimacy, Seraphina hadn’t actually harmed her.
And no matter what Seraphina did to her, she didn’t seem to dislike Seraphina.
What she was truly conflicted about was how Seraphina would view this messy relationship and herself once she recovered and cleared her mind.
Wen Shiyu didn’t even know why she cared so much.
If by that time she had already successfully graduated and flown far away… even if Seraphina hated her, it seemed… it wouldn’t matter much.
Seraphina surely wouldn’t cross the ocean just to continue settling scores with her.
Seeing her silence, Su Yan lowered her eyes.
She could actually faintly smell the pheromones belonging to Seraphina that were clinging to Wen Shiyu’s body.
But since Wen Shiyu chose to remain silent, it wasn’t appropriate for her to get involved in this matter.
“Watch out,” she snapped back to reality and reminded her, while simultaneously using her hand to steady the tail of Wen Shiyu’s board.
“The wave is coming, remember the pointers I just gave you.”
Wen Shiyu nodded, focusing her mind and preparing to meet the surging wave.
However, just as her gaze swept across the beach, she discovered that Seraphina had arrived at the shore at some unknown point.
She had even stepped into the shallow water and was walking toward them.
“!”
Wen Shiyu panicked, and her movements immediately faltered. The surfboard beneath her feet suddenly tilted.
“Careful!” Su Yan acted quickly, trying to pull her back, but was dragged down by the off-balance Wen Shiyu.
With two “splashes,” they both tumbled into the cool seawater.
Wen Shiyu quickly poked her head out of the water and wiped her face. Her first reaction was to look toward the beach.
Sure enough, Seraphina had her arms crossed over her chest, and her expression was even worse.
Even though there was a distance between them, that huffy “Young Lady” aura was incredibly clear…
Both she and Su Yan felt a bit guilty. They looked at each other and realized they couldn’t continue surfing, so they headed back to shore.
Su Yan walked toward Seraphina and proactively said: “Sorry, Seraphina. Even though you didn’t agree to it, I still came out surfing with Wen Shiyu.”
Seraphina pursed her lips. She knew herself that the demand of “not allowing them to play alone” was a bit like throwing a tantrum, so she couldn’t really blame Su Yan. She could only say stiffly: “…It’s fine.”
But when she turned toward Wen Shiyu, Seraphina showed a completely different face. She had her hands on her hips, her cheeks puffed out with anger.
“You, come over here.”
She insisted on settling the score with Wen Shiyu.
She had even tied her up with a strap; wasn’t the meaning obvious enough?
She actually dared to sneak away while she was asleep!
Wen Shiyu tried to explain: “I didn’t sneak away in the middle of the night, it was only in the morning that I…”
“That won’t do either,” Seraphina said relentlessly.
“You are not allowed to go out to play this afternoon. After lunch, come to my room.”
Wen Shiyu was stunned. “Is it because I can skip lunch? As a punishment…”
Seraphina didn’t understand.
“How can that be? It’s bad for your health.”
Wen Shiyu’s face burned, and her voice became even smaller: “But… spending the whole afternoon… doing that… isn’t that a bit much?”
Seraphina froze, her face instantly turning red as well.
She lowered her voice, “Who—who said we were going to do that kind of thing for the whole afternoon? I just said you aren’t allowed to go out and play anymore.”
Maybe… while we’re at it… we’ll do it one more time…? That’s all!
At noon, after the four of them finished lunch, Xia Te excitedly suggested going snorkeling at the nearby coral reef in the afternoon.
However, Seraphina waved her hand and refused, saying they should go tomorrow instead.
“I’m a bit tired. Wen Shiyu, come back to the room with me to rest.”
As she spoke of being tired, she excitedly reached out and grabbed the wrist of Wen Shiyu, who was sitting nearby pretending to study the folds of her napkin.
Wen Shiyu’s body stiffened. She subconsciously looked left and right, but for a long time, she couldn’t think of an excuse.
In the end, she even frantically shot looks at Xia Te. Her face was written with distress signals for help.
Xia Te slowly put down her cup.
“…Does Wen Shiyu need some help?”
Or did her face have a cramp?
Su Yan sat on the other side of the table and didn’t see Wen Shiyu’s signals.
She sighed and whispered: “I asked her just now… she said there’s no conflict between her and Seraphina.”
This made it difficult for her to intervene.
Xia Te raised an eyebrow. “…Is that really the case?”
If Wen Shiyu could have heard that sentence, she probably would have been filled with regret. Had she known, she would have shouted that she needed help.
Soon, Wen Shiyu was dragged into Seraphina’s spacious bedroom, and the door clicked shut behind them.
The petty Seraphina once again took out that belt and held it out in front of Wen Shiyu.
She insisted that Wen Shiyu tie it back on herself and that she apologize.
Wen Shiyu sighed in her heart but still obediently took it. She skillfully threaded one end through the ring of the collar at her neck.
Then, she took the other end and handed it to Seraphina.
“I’m sorry, here. I promise I won’t suddenly disappear again…”
She placed the end of the strap into Seraphina’s palm, then her fingertips brushed over the skin of her wrist, saying casually:
“Don’t tie it to your wrist again… it’s left marks.”
Seraphina was stunned for a moment, and two red clouds quickly bloomed on her face.
She lifted those watery amber eyes and looked at Wen Shiyu. Suddenly, she said:
“…Kiss me.”
Wen Shiyu hesitated for a moment.
“…Didn’t you say that coming back to the room this afternoon wasn’t for the sake of… that?”
Seraphina’s face instantly turned even redder. “I just meant a kiss, just a kiss… What—what are you thinking!”
Wen Shiyu grumbled in her heart, her gaze drifting to the side.
Last night, after they agreed it was time to sleep, she had said the same thing at first…
And what happened?
Seraphina seemed to have thought of something and guessed what Wen Shiyu was thinking.
Instantly, her face turned completely red. Like a little rabbit whose tail had been stepped on, she was so shy she almost stamped her feet.
“This time, even if you beg me, I won’t let you… let you take an inch after being given a mile!”
“Who do you think wants to do that kind of thing with you? It’s all because… because your inferior pheromones are too useless. I—I have no choice…”
After defending herself for a long time, she still tilted her chin up.
“Now, kiss me.”
Wen Shiyu didn’t dare say anything else, so she leaned down and kissed her gently.
At first, it was just like a dragonfly skimming the water. But unconsciously, the two of them went from standing to slowly lying down in the blankets.
Seraphina began to make those unconscious, tiny humming sounds again, like a kitten being stroked, her body instinctively drawing closer.
Wen Shiyu reminded her in a small, muffled voice: “Just kissing.”
“Mmm… yes…” Seraphina’s response was perfunctory, but her arms had already honestly circled around Wen Shiyu’s neck.
“Wen Shiyu…”
…
As it turned out, certain promises from the Young Lady…
Were just as questionable in their effectiveness as her punishments.
It wasn’t until dinner time that Xia Te saw Wen Shiyu slipping out of Seraphina’s room.
Xia Te’s eyes sharpened. She immediately flashed forward, grabbed Wen Shiyu’s arm, and without another word, dragged her into her own room, slamming the door shut with a “bang.”
Wen Shiyu was startled by her, her state of mind still unsettled: “Xia Te? What’s wrong?”
But Xia Te didn’t bother to answer. She took a step closer, grabbed Wen Shiyu’s collar, leaned into the vicinity of her neck, and sniffed forcefully.
Wen Shiyu’s body went stiff, and she tried to shrink back: “What… what are you doing?”
Xia Te let go and took a step back, her eyes wide as she looked at Wen Shiyu, her face full of suspicion.
She had smelled it this time too. Although it was very faint, it was indeed the fragrance of peaches.
This was too suspicious!
“Wen Shiyu!” Xia Te lowered her voice, her tone serious. “Give me an honest account of what’s going on with you!”
Didn’t they agree that she was supposed to make Seraphina hate her?
But why did it feel like lately, she and Seraphina were becoming more and more intimate?
Seraphina didn’t even want to play with them anymore; she only wanted to stay with Wen Shiyu.
Xia Te was completely baffled. Could it be that when Wen Shiyu originally sought her out for cooperation, saying something about making Seraphina hate her, it was all a ruse?
Was the goal to lower her own guard, and then secretly and frantically farm favorability points??
