- Chapter 10 - Until My Heart Can Hold Only Her
“Xiang You.”
Ruan Jiao shrank her neck slightly, feeling a ticklish sensation.
Unexpectedly, upon hearing her answer, Jun Gongyu’s voice grew even colder, as if about to freeze into ice.
“Who is Xiang You?”
“My classmate.”
“Does Jiaojiao like her best, more than you like me?”
Only then did Ruan Jiao realize something was wrong, Jun Gongyu was clearly angry.
She turned around to face Jun Gongyu, looking directly at her beautiful yet excessively cold face.
Reaching out to wrap her arms around Jun Gongyu’s slender waist, she lifted her face, her voice tinged with a hint of coquettishness:
“You and I are the closest. I like you the most.”
Xiang You was just a classmate, a friend. Her feelings for Jun Gongyu were different from those for a friend, Ruan Jiao could clearly distinguish between them.
She admired her, revered her, and depended on her.
[Liar.]
The temperature in the room did not warm up because of her words.
Jun Gongyu’s face remained frosty, one arm tightly encircling her waist, holding her captive in her embrace.
With her other hand, she lifted Ruan Jiao’s chin, her dark eyes hiding a dangerous aura.
[Deceitful little human liar.]
When there was danger, she would coax her, saying she wanted to serve her for a lifetime. When there was no danger, she would flirt with other women.
Deceiving her, forcing her way closer. Demanding her kisses, her love, saying she wanted her.
She had formed a bond with her, offering her protection. The most malevolent ghost in this world had donned a human guise, lowering herself to play the role of a divine savior in this charade.
And what about her? She had actually taken advantage of her absence to grow intimate with someone else.
Jun Gongyu’s eyes reddened.
[Liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar…]
She was no aloof, self-restrained deity.
A paranoid, extreme evil spirit, who had pretended to be human for just two days, still harbored a raging desire for destruction deep in her bones.
Greed, anger, ignorance, hatred, love, desire, if she had completely abandoned them, she would have long since reincarnated. Why would she still wander the mortal world for centuries?
Thinking of that human girl linking arms with her, Jun Gongyu could hardly restrain her impulse to unleash chaos.
She should just devour her, so that even her soul would be trapped by her side for all eternity.
“Since you have formed a bond with me, your heart should be filled with only me.”
Jun Gongyu pinched her chin, feeling both aggrieved and resentful.
[Devour her devour her devour her devour her devour her devour her devour her devour her…]
End it, this childish game born of a whim.
Ruan Jiao stared blankly at Jun Gongyu’s face. Though she knew the other was unhappy, seeing the surging possessiveness in her eyes, her heart inexplicably leaped with joy.
She took Jun Gongyu’s hand and pressed her cheek into her palm, gazing at her with infatuation.
“My heart is filled with you. If you don’t believe me, open it and see.”
“I belong entirely to you, my body and my soul are completely devoted to you.”
The girl’s voice was sweet and moving, instantly smoothing over all the sharp coldness.
The chilling aura in the room dissipated like a receding tide.
Jun Gongyu looked at the girl in her palm, her throat tightening.
She desired her, desperately so.
Just moments ago, she was still filled with hatred, but now it had been washed away by her few words, replaced by a deep-seated joy from within.
[Such a cunning little human liar.]
She said she was hers.
All hers.
Hers.
[She couldn’t just forgive her like this.]
So happy, so happy that every hand inside her body surged wildly, wanting to break free and embrace the girl before her.
Hugging through this human skin felt insufficient.
She wanted to be closer, every inch of her body screaming to be with her.
Jiaojiao, her Jiaojiao, hers, hers.
[I’ll forgive you if I take a bite.]
The “deity,” who had remained expressionless for so long, finally smiled.
The rampant killing intent shifted in flavor.
She leaned down, gently picking up the girl and placing her on the soft bed.
“Here…”
Ruan Jiao’s breath hitched.
“Jiaojiao,” Jun Gongyu asked, “is all of this really mine?”
“Yes. All of it is yours.”
Ruan Jiao bit her lip, holding back her voice, but the flush on her cheeks betrayed her inner feelings.
Jun Gongyu looked at her, a flicker of darkness passing through her eyes.
“Why is it all mine?”
“Because… I…”
“I love you.”
Ruan Jiao uttered those words with reverence, gazing at her with hopeful eyes. She had not only fallen in love with the deity but also longed for the deity to love her in return.
Love, such a strange, cloyingly sweet word.
Jun Gongyu should have been happy, but as she looked at the adoration and trust brimming in Ruan Jiao’s eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to smile.
Ruan Jiao loved her, but also her identity as a “deity.” If she knew that she was of the same kind as the things she feared most…
Would she still say she loved her?
Did she know that the one she loved was actually a terrifying, skin-wearing anomaly?
Jun Gongyu pressed her lips together, lowering her voice in a coaxing tone. “Jiaojiao, close your eyes.”
Ruan Jiao obediently closed her eyes, plunging into darkness, yet her physical sensations grew more intense and vivid.
She felt her face pressed against the bed, but the person behind her wasn’t rough, her movements were gentle, as if handling something fragile.
A cold, sticky breath brushed against the nape of her neck. The damp chill trailed over her ear, sliding down to settle at the back of her neck…
Ruan Jiao bit the back of her hand, swallowing her sounds.
Jun Gongyu was…
It didn’t hurt, it was a strange sensation, like being held by a kitten’s paws, gently nibbled with teeth, a gesture of affection and intimacy.
“Jiaojiao.”
“So fragrant, Jiaojiao.”
Not enough, she wanted more contact.
Her hand was freed from her mouth, gently turned over like a kitten.
Ruan Jiao’s flushed lips were about to make a sound when they were sealed, all her whimpers swallowed whole.
She felt Jun Gongyu truly wanted to devour her, so urgent, so fierce.
But she loved it.
So happy.
There.
Ruan Jiao didn’t want to, it was too embarrassing, but she couldn’t control it. Her fingers tightened around the bedsheet…
“Mmm.”
Jun Gongyu tightened her arms, pulling Ruan Jiao into her embrace, savoring the force with which she had bitten her tongue at the peak of her loss of control.
Her Jiaojiao was delicate, with little strength, collapsing into her arms after just a little.
Even so, she felt utterly satisfied, as if a dead heart had begun to beat again.
Ruan Jiao was grateful her eyes were tightly shut, so her expression wouldn’t appear so awkward. Like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, she buried her face in Jun Gongyu’s embrace, unable to speak.
