- Chapter 51 - How to Cheer Up an Unhappy Fiancée
Today was the premiere screening of Rivalry, held at the Magic City Grand Theater.
Before the screening, there was a brief introduction of the main cast. Of course, Wen Yan needed no introduction. Since her debut, she had been a constant presence on trending lists. Despite not having any released works yet, her unparalleled beauty and charisma had rapidly attracted a massive fanbase, stunning the fandom with one breathtaking photo after another. Han Lu, though not as popular as Wen Yan, was still one of the most well-liked among the new generation of actors.
As a result, many fans attended the event, holding up banners and light boards in support. They formed distinct groups, each tightly knit, as if silently competing with one another.
Wen Yan had the largest number of fans, and her official fan club had long decided on her support color and nickname.
Support Color: Peach Blossom Pink.
According to official sources, Wen Yan’s pheromone scent was that of peach blossoms. For celebrities and actors, their pheromone fragrance often becomes a selling point. For instance, a certain award-winning actor had gained countless fans early in his career due to his rosemary-scented pheromones. Wen Yan’s peach blossom fragrance had also captivated many alphas, turning them into so-called “boyfriend fans” and “girlfriend fans” who couldn’t help but fantasize about proposing to her on the spot and calling her “wifey.”
Nickname: Goddess Yan.
As the name suggests, it meant “Goddess of Beauty”, a divine, godlike level of beauty.
So when Wen Yan saw the sea of peach blossom pink support banners and the colorful LED signs displaying “Goddess Yan,” she couldn’t help but feel a surge of warmth in her heart.
She even spotted Panda Sister in the front row, holding a camera and pointing it directly at her!
For the first time, Wen Yan truly felt the happiness of being loved by so many people.
Perhaps this was why she had chosen this profession and was unwilling to give it up, she wanted to be seen, to be showered with an abundance of love.
Wen Yan glanced at the host, then picked up the microphone with one hand while giving a small, subtle wave to the camera with the other.
It was a simple interaction with her fans, a silent “hi.”
Many noticed and captured the moment with their phones or cameras, screaming excitedly at the top of their lungs.
“Ahhhhhhh, look at me, sister!!!”
“Wen Yan! Yan Bao! Mommy loves you!!!”
This last shout was particularly passionate and came from a deep-voiced male fan. Not only Wen Yan, but even the actors on stage couldn’t hold back their laughter.
The sudden commotion disrupted the host’s planned sequence, but he quickly adapted and said with a smile, “Our leading lady is quite popular today.”
“Let’s start with Wen Yan. Please introduce yourself to everyone.”
The audience fell silent instantly. One moment, it was as noisy as a marketplace; the next, even the sound of breathing was clearly audible. Wen Yan smiled. Her eye makeup that day was stunning, the eyeliner extended to the outer corners of her eyes, slightly upturned, giving her a sharp yet enchanting look.
When the corners of her eyes curved, her peach blossom eyes transformed into slender, fox-like eyes.
There were also sparkling crushed diamonds placed under her eyes, making every blink seem like it was sending electric waves. Fans in the front rows clutched their hearts and exclaimed.
“I’m dead.”
“Hello, everyone. I’m Wen Yan, and in this film, I play the female lead, Yi Feng.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the audience erupted into a chorus of excited screams and thunderous applause.
“Wow, the fans are really enthusiastic today. So, Wen Yan, regarding the role of Yi Feng, was there any particular scene that you found particularly challenging?”
The host glanced at the cue card and asked with a cheerful smile.
Huh?
This question?
Wen Yan raised an eyebrow slightly and unintentionally glanced toward Gu Lin.
Was this really not intentional?
Gu Lin happened to be looking at her too. Their eyes met, and in that instant, she understood her girlfriend’s silent accusation, pursing her lips helplessly.
She suddenly felt like replying with a meme:
[It wasn’t me, I didn’t do it, don’t make things up.jpg]
The classic denial trio.
“Well, fans who have watched the show probably know that Yi Feng has a scene about having an abortion,” Wen Yan said, facing the fans with a composed smile.
“Director Gu approached me and asked me to audition with that scene.”
“To be honest, I had only just skimmed through the script at that point, it felt like being forced into action.”
“But thankfully, Director Gu worked with me exceptionally well, helping me get into character successfully.”
“That particular scene was the one I found most challenging.”
Since Wen Yan had brought up Gu Lin, the host naturally wouldn’t let it slide and followed up with a question.
“So, for that scene, was Director Gu playing the role of Qi Yan?”
“Wow, I wonder if any behind-the-scenes footage of that moment can be released?”
It had been late at night back then, with only Qin Xia and A Xiu around as bystanders, no footage was recorded.
But she couldn’t say that outright, especially since the male lead was present. After all, a director shouldn’t steal the spotlight from their own actor.
Gu Lin picked up the microphone and chuckled softly. Dressed in simple, casual attire, a loose knit sweater paired with a long skirt she looked like a freelancer working from home. Yet, her fair, elegant face caught the attention of many fans.
When Gu Lin first appeared on stage, many had mistaken her for an unknown extra.
Who would have thought someone this stunning was actually the director of Rivalry!
“Wen Yan is being modest, it’s her acting skills that shone through,” Gu Lin said.
“I merely read a few lines. Han Lu brought Qi Yan to life far more vividly.”
With a deft touch, Gu Lin skillfully redirected the topic to the male lead, Han Lu, downplaying her own presence. Still, some noticed her and even snapped quite a few photos.
One of them was Panda Sister, Pan Da.
She was shocked to discover that Director Gu was the same blue-clad beauty who had accompanied Wen Yan at Milan Fashion Week!
What was going on?
Had her favorite celebrity started dating right after her debut?
Although Pan Da had no issue with celebrities dating, Wen Yan didn’t have many works under her belt, and her fanbase wasn’t yet stable. If news of a relationship broke out now, it could deal a fatal blow to her career.
It can’t be true, right?
It can’t be, it can’t, it just can’t!
Panda Sister inwardly lamented, then turned her camera back to Wen Yan, trying to gauge her idol’s reaction.
It’s over.
Completely over.
Just look at the tenderness and shimmering emotion in her eyes. Look at the subtle lift at the corner of her lips, then the almost imperceptible return to neutrality. And then observe the faint, almost electric exchange of glances between the two sparks practically flying.
It’s over.
Panda Sister watched the two through her lens and found them incredibly beautiful and captivating.
How is it that the more she looked, the more perfectly matched they seemed?
Director x Actress, this pairing was starting to look delicious.
She completely abandoned her already wavering stance. Come on, two beauties together what a massive treat! No need for you to fantasize or painstakingly write fanfiction to feed yourself sugar, the real deal is prying your mouth open and spoon-feeding it to you.
Panda Sister opened her mouth wide, eagerly waiting to be fed.
As for career? Ha! With her Yan Yan’s formidable talent and Director Lin’s support, how could she not have a career?
Panda picked up her camera again, aiming the lens at the two standing side by side, and decided that as soon as she got back, she would edit videos, create a secret fan account, and attract followers to join her in the fandom!
The self-introductions soon concluded, and the global preview of Rivalry officially began.
The film, a standard hour and a half long, had the main cast seated in the front row, quietly watching this period political drama alongside the fans behind them.
Gu Lin sat right in the center, with Wen Yan to her left. Due to work, it had been a long time since they had been this close.
Because of the incident with Liu Mingyan, Gu Lin had been somewhat distracted. On stage, she had managed to force herself to focus, but now, relaxed, her thoughts wandered off to who knows where.
Wen Yan naturally noticed. Though she didn’t know what was troubling her lover, she had a way to lift her spirits.
The omega quietly took hold of the hand resting on the armrest.
Warm and gentle, just like Gu Lin herself.
Then, Gu Lin was guided, past the hem of her dress, to touch her soft, smooth thigh.
That hand trembled instantly unsure whether to leave it there or pull away, it hovered awkwardly, uncertain what to do.
Wen Yan was satisfied to see the unnatural blush on Gu Lin’s face, the pink hue even creeping up her neck.
Her gaze was hesitant, as if wanting to speak but holding back, with a barely noticeable hint of anticipation.
Hah, women.
Wen Yan sneered inwardly.
She leaned in close, breathing softly into Gu Lin’s ear.
A tingling sensation, enough to stir the imagination.
“Do you like it?”
If you like it, don’t hold back.
