The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 26
Chapter 26: Mecha
The vanilla-flavored potion tasted smooth as it went down, with a slightly grainy, slushy texture that left a lingering fragrance on her palate.
Su Lili smacked her lips, still savoring the taste, when she felt a sudden numbing itch in her limbs. Her vision blurred, her eyes went dark, and she fell fast asleep.
Under the cover of layered curtains, the dim yellow lights of the sleeping quarters outlined the girl’s graceful silhouette on the bed. She lay face down on the pillows, her exquisite face slightly squished, a soft flush appearing on her cheeks as she slept soundly.
When she woke up again, it was late at night.
Her body felt indescribably light, possessed by a renewed sense of refreshment and clarity. She pulled up the system panel to see that her personal data had been updated.

C-grade Spiritual Power Usage: 100%
…
Her constitution, spiritual power, and health had all increased. Su Lili pinched her thin, pale arm.
What a pity—even though her constitution had increased, there wasn’t a trace of muscle on her body. She stood up and walked a few laps, gesturing in front of the full-length mirror, and finally confirmed that she had grown about 1 centimeter taller.
The gland on the side of her neck had also matured further, emitting a richer scent of pheromones. Previously, her pheromones were faint and would stop diffusing entirely once suppressed by spiritual power. Now, the concentration had increased significantly; even with spiritual power suppression, a faint floral aroma lingered around the gland.
At a normal social distance, it shouldn’t be different from before. But if someone got too close, they would definitely be able to smell it.
Outside the milky-white marble windowsill, colorful planets twinkled in the dark sky, as brilliant as neon lights against the black velvet curtain of space. Although it was late, the girl lying on the bed couldn’t fall asleep at all. With her constitution improved and having just napped, she was bursting with energy.
Propping her chin on her white palm, she opened her Star-Brain and started scrolling through “Chongbo.”
The trending search list was still dominated by topics related to the Queen. Aside from the upcoming Royal Guard selection, the focus of discussion was speculating which male bug the King favored the most.
As the famous bugs who were constantly by her side, Zephyrus and Lucius occupied the top spots, their popularity nearly equal.
“The day we welcomed the King back, everyone saw Lord Zephyrus carrying the King all the way onto the ship, right?”
“I’ve never seen Lord Zephyrus so close to anyone. So many females have made advances, and he never responded.”
“I mean… that’s the King. No matter how you look at it, he’s the one who won big, right? If I got to hold the King, I’d never wash my hands again for the rest of my life!”
“Also, rumors say the King summoned Lord Zephyrus alone at night. No other bug has received that kind of treatment!”
“What are you talking about? The best match for the King is obviously Lord Lucius. I don’t need to say anything about the ‘Light of the Zerg’s’ looks. [Image1234.jpg]”
“The King lives in the Sanctuary; he has the most contact with her. Traditionally, the Grand Priest is usually the Queen’s first close attendant.”
“Lord Lucius is usually gentle and polite, but there’s always an invisible distance. However, as a Sanctuary ‘nobody,’ I feel he’s much gentler lately. And whenever someone mentions the King, he can’t help but smile!”
Following close behind was Ferran.
“The first thing the King did when she returned was get him out of prison. Do I even need to explain the significance of that?”
“He’s just a waste-bug with a shattered spiritual sea.”
“Look at that face, that body! And according to Sanctuary insiders, he has already moved into the palace.”
“…”
Su Lili’s cheeks flushed slightly. She closed “Chongbo” and secretly logged onto the Star-Network.
To facilitate her training in simulated mecha combat, Lucius had specially created a fake identity for her on the Federation Star-Network.
-
Name: Su Lili.
-
Origin: A remote galaxy near Zerg territory.
-
Identity: A Federation youth who has just reached adulthood.
That’s right—a youth. For some reason, the identity Lucius arranged for her was male. A poor boy from a remote system who lived by scavenging, finally saving enough money at adulthood to buy a high-grade light-brain. Thus, he had very few traces on the network.
She browsed briefly and found that the most popular game with the highest login count in the Federation was a mecha combat game called “War of Fire.” It featured various combat modes like 1V1 and multiplayer. Players earned points to level up through mecha battles. The top names on the leaderboard were all hotshot figures in the Federation.
Currently ranked first was an anonymous legend named “Star.” No one had seen his true face; he was a lone wolf who only played 1V1. He was famous for his efficiency—his moves were concise and struck directly at the enemy’s weakness. His current win rate was 100%.
A highlight reel of his brilliant battles played on a loop at the top of the official website. His pure black, leopard-shaped mecha moved with incredible flexibility, closing the distance in a few leaps to crush the enemy’s vital points.
Between the friction of metal and flying sparks, paired with the commentator’s passionate narration and a high-energy BGM, Su Lili felt her blood pumping.
How about I give it a try?
She clicked the download interface, and her consciousness slowly entered the game.
After a slight bout of dizziness, she appeared on a street bustling with crowds. Multiple electronic screens hung high above the street, broadcasting matches in real-time. The sounds of various discussions and shouting filled her ears.
“That dodge! Beautiful!” “The right leg! Attack his right leg!” “Looking for a 2V2 teammate, must be skilled.”
She pulled over a young man watching a match. “Hello, how do I join a match?”
The young man had brown hair and brown eyes. The match on the screen was at a critical point, and he was annoyed at being interrupted. He turned his head grumbling, “Who the f—”
The words died in his throat. The boy appearing in his vision had black hair and black eyes. His soft dark hair covered his brow, his skin was so white it was almost translucent, and his features were more beautiful than any top star in the galaxy.
He swallowed his unfinished curse, accidentally biting his tongue in his haste. While wincing in pain, he tried his best to squeeze out a friendly smile. “Hello! Hello!”
“You want to join a match, right?” He looked at the boy’s thin, pale arms. The delicate wrist bones looked fragile enough to snap. He added out of genuine concern, “You just reached adulthood, right? Maybe you should watch a few matches first. Even though simulations don’t consume as much spiritual power as real combat, it’s still a burden on the body.”
Looking down on me?
Su Lili widened her eyes and glared at him, then turned to walk away. Her rounded cat-like eyes were even more vivid when she was annoyed. Ander scratched the back of his head and jogged after her, apologizing repeatedly.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to look down on you! I believe you—you’ll definitely become a powerful mecha warrior in the future!”
In the future? Is he saying I have no chance right now?
Ignoring him, Su Lili gave Ander a sidelong glance and kept walking.
Crap, I said the wrong thing again, Ander thought frantically. Seeing the boy walking faster and faster, and noticing many people around them turning to stare—their gazes eventually locking onto the boy’s face—Ander quickly blocked her path, using his arms to shield her from the sight of others. “Anyway, please let me take you there. Please, take it as my apology!”
Su Lili frowned at him. The youth’s cheeks were red with excitement, and he didn’t seem to be faking it. “Fine.”
…
After arriving at the Battle Hall, Su Lili said goodbye to Ander. Although he was very reluctant, she insisted. Before leaving, he shamelessly added her as a game friend and enthusiastically invited her to play together in the future.
Su Lili just wanted to get rid of him quickly, so she accepted the request. However, she didn’t take it to heart; she wasn’t a real Federation person and didn’t want much contact with them.
Her main goal today was to try out the feeling of controlling a mecha in combat.
The game hall was a vast square with countless floating registration screens. Su Lili found a corner and browsed the match types. Because of her outstanding appearance, subtle gazes followed her every move. The quiet corner soon became lively as a crowd gathered around her.
Currently, 1V1 and 2V2 matches were open. Her current account info was: Points: 0, Level: LV0, Ranking: None]
As a lowest-level “newbie” account, she could only participate in 1V1. She reached out and clicked Register.
Detecting that this is your first login. Please select a mecha type.
Federation mechas were mostly biological in shape, with various weapons and equipment added based on the user’s preference. At her current level, she could only choose the most basic starter mechas. Even so, the list on the long screen seemed endless, and the dazzling array of designs made her head spin.
Perhaps sensing she had been dwelling for too long, a prompt popped up:
Would you like to use Auto-Match? The system will automatically match a mecha for you based on your physical stats and spiritual power.
“This is perfect!” Su Lili’s eyes lit up, and she clicked Agree.
