The Omega Attacked the Alpha - Chapter 19
Song Tao scanned the room, and frankly, the sheer number of people exceeded his wildest imagination. It felt like Wei Siqi’s entire extended family was present; even an infant in a stroller hadn’t missed out on the excitement. The baby was currently gnawing on its hand, emerald eyes darting toward Song Tao. Suddenly, the hand-gnawing stopped, and the child raised its chubby, lotus-root-like arms, demanding a hug.
Rows of eyes completely ignored Wei Siqi’s passionate opening speech, focusing their inquisitive gazes on Song Tao instead. Song Tao didn’t show a hint of awkwardness; he maintained a poised, generous smile as he accepted their scrutiny.
“Introduce him first,” Wei’s mother interrupted, unable to help herself.
Only then did Wei Siqi conclude his lecture. He brought Song Tao forward, beaming with pride. “Let me introduce everyone—this is my boyfriend, Song Tao. You can all just call him Xiao Tao.”
The door behind them opened just before he finished speaking. Qin Zheng, who had been wearing a polite, fake smile, suddenly went cold at the doorway. His gaze locked directly onto the tall figure with the blue-and-white hair.
Boyfriend.
A cold sneer echoed in his mind. He had investigated Song Tao’s background down to the last detail; how could he not know about a boyfriend?
Wei Siqi’s cousin couldn’t help himself. “Are you really my brother’s boyfriend?” He shot Song Tao a look that clearly said: If you’ve been kidnapped, blink twice.
Everyone fell silent, waiting for an answer. Obviously, no one believed it. Although the elders were slightly dissatisfied with Song Tao’s flashy appearance, they had to admit the boy was exceptionally handsome so handsome that it seemed impossible an Omega like him would settle for their Siqi.
At the door, Qin Zheng waited as well. His dark eyes flicked over Wei Siqi once more, confirming his identity. His intel had only shown them to be schoolmates and good friends, with no romantic involvement.
But then again, who can say for sure when it comes to feelings? If one person in a friendship tries to cross the line, the success rate is usually quite high.
Song Tao, still unaware of the “Iceberg Qin” behind him, spoke with a beaming smile. “Siqi and I are indeed in a relationship.”
His smile widened, playing the role of the shy lover to perfection. His innocent doe-eyes darted bashfully toward Wei Siqi, making the hearts of several single people in the room skip a beat.
Qin Zheng’s hand, hanging by his side, clenched into a tight fist.
If the old man and Song Chijing hadn’t divorced, Song Tao would be a member of the Qin family. If a Qin Omega dared to say he was with a Beta, Qin Zheng would have broken the Beta’s legs and kicked him out himself.
A Beta cannot provide a pheromone “soothing” for an Omega. It only leaves the Omega in discomfort and can even lead to illness. This is especially true during pregnancy, when the need for pheromones is immense; without them, the Omega faces extreme danger, even life-threatening risks.
If that Beta managed to withstand having his legs broken and they still refused to give up, Qin Zheng would have sent the man to be surgically modified into an Alpha before letting him back out.
But now…
“Clap, clap, clap” Meng Changqing began to applaud, drawing everyone’s attention.
Song Tao turned around as well. The moment his eyes met Qin Zheng’s, his pupils constricted dangerously. His heart pounded with excitement. Though surprised by Qin Zheng’s presence, it didn’t stop him from fixating on the man’s thin lips. This was the mouth that had swallowed his…
Something belonging to him had spread over those teeth, flowed over that tongue, and been swallowed down the throat, entering his internal organs and leaving a mark deep within his body.
Song Tao’s predatory gaze drifted to Qin Zheng’s Adam’s apple. One roll of that throat meant he had eaten Song Tao’s “offering” into his stomach. Just the thought made Song Tao’s blood boil.
Qin Zheng had been reckless this time. He was too merciful, allowing a secret that should have been hidden forever to be exposed. If their roles were reversed, Song Tao would have drugged Qin Zheng, blindfolded him, chained his limbs in a secret room, and turned him into a personal “essence” dispenser.
Qin Zheng would never know who was keeping him captive.
He would only confusedly offer up his fluids, time and time again.
The moment he saw Song Tao’s face, Qin Zheng temporarily pushed the boyfriend issue to the back of his mind. Memories he never wanted to revisit flooded back. That sweet taste, hidden in the most private recesses of his mouth, woke up again. It made him crave it, obsessed with it, and his mouth began to salivate uncontrollably.
Gulp.
The Adam’s apple Song Tao was watching rolled. Song Tao’s sharp gaze snapped back to Qin Zheng’s pale, cold face, which now held a hint of a flush.
Something caught fire. Perhaps it was desire, perhaps instinct, or perhaps rationality.
What are you thinking right now?
My dear brother~
Meng Changqing raised an arm, breaking the silent, clashing gaze between the two.
“Hello, Siqi’s boyfriend. I’m his uncle; you can call me Uncle too.” Meng Changqing acted without airs, extending a hand toward Song Tao.
Song Tao began to wonder about this middle-aged Alpha’s identity. To walk alongside Qin Zheng, he had to be one of the top five leaders. Since this restaurant belonged to Meng Changqing, he must be—the man himself.
He took the hand, calling out obediently, “Hello, Uncle.”
That one greeting made Meng Changqing chuckle with delight and made Qin Zheng’s face turn even colder. Their handshake was brief. Meng Changqing began introducing Qin Zheng, and the younger family members watched him with curiosity. A few of the Omegas were clearly smitten; a man like Qin Zheng, an “Alpha among Alphas” in both build and looks, was a magnet for Omegas, to say nothing of his status.
However, since they belonged to different factions, the family’s response remained polite but distant.
This was clearly a family dinner. Any observant outsider would have taken their leave, and Qin Zheng was certainly observant—yet he sat down with an air of absolute authority.
The group took their seats. Amidst the polite reshuffling, Song Tao was “coincidentally” seated right next to Qin Zheng. Now, he had Qin Zheng on his left and Wei Siqi on his right. It was a round table, and the long, golden tablecloth hid their feet. Song Tao didn’t notice when he sat down, but their feet bumped together. Neither of them moved away.
For some reason, Song Tao felt a secret thrill.
His sneakers were new; they wouldn’t get Qin Zheng’s leather shoes dirty.
What a shame.
He tilted his foot and stealthily stepped on Qin Zheng. The sole of his shoe must have had some dust on it; now, he’d successfully dirtied Qin Zheng’s shoe. Song Tao lowered his head, hiding a smirk.
Qin Zheng’s brow furrowed slightly. He pulled his foot away in disgust, but that “brat” Song Tao refused to let up.
In retaliation, Qin Zheng simply raised his other foot and stepped squarely onto Song Tao’s foot.
Song Tao’s eyes widened. Those were his brand-new white shoes!
Under the table, their movements were constant. Above the table, their chairs were far enough apart that another chair could have fit between them—the picture of mutual indifference.
Wei Siqi felt a bit guilty seeing Qin Zheng, considering he had broken into the man’s safe even if it only contained “junk” that wasted his time.
He leaned over to whisper to Song Tao: “Why are you two acting like you don’t know each other?”
Qin Zheng glanced at their huddling heads and pressed down harder on Song Tao’s foot, making Song Tao hiss under his breath.
Wei Siqi was confused. “What’s wrong?”
Song Tao huffed, speaking loud enough for Qin Zheng to hear. “Nothing. Just a stray male dog stepping on me.”
Wei Siqi: “?”
Song Tao didn’t explain. He just lifted his other foot to step on Qin Zheng’s in return. He continued his conversation with Wei: “Do you think your family would like it if your boyfriend had a connection to Qin Zheng?”
Wei Siqi thought about it. No, they wouldn’t.
Under the table, four feet were piled together. If you step on me, I’ll step on you harder. Neither was willing to back down.
Wei’s mother spoke kindly. “You two lovebirds should stop whispering. Song… Xiao Tao, are you still a student?”
The phrase “lovebirds” made Qin Zheng realize how childish he was being. He jerked his foot away and stood up. “I just remembered I have some business to attend to. I won’t disturb you any longer.”
He turned toward the “lovebirds.” “Congratulations. Since this is a happy occasion, and I am technically an elder in terms of age, I’ll give you a gift. My ‘Floating Jade’ development in the West District just opened; pick a unit whenever you have time. It’s a wedding present from me.”
He bowed slightly. Everyone stood up, including Song Tao.
Qin Zheng: “Farewell. Mr. Meng, let’s catch up another time.”
Offering a villa worth hundreds of millions as a casual gift shocked the Wei family, despite their own wealth. While they were hesitating between accepting or politely declining, Qin Zheng had already been escorted out by Meng Changqing.
Once only the family remained, a young Omega sighed, “So handsome! That’s a real Alpha! I want to marry him!”
Wei Siqi whispered into Song Tao’s ear, “Holy crap! I want to flex like that too!”
Song Tao: “You’re already a Beta (B), you don’t need to flex (装B).”
Wei Siqi: Why do I feel like I was just insulted?
When Meng Changqing returned, that same Omega ran up to him acting spoiled. “Uncle~ can you introduce me to Qin Zheng? Look, he’s an Alpha and I’m an Omega—we’re a perfect match.”
Song Tao stood up. “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.”
He left the room and saw Qin Zheng’s figure disappearing around a corner. By the time he caught up, Qin Zheng was already in the elevator. Guan Si and Lu Yao stood on either side of him like two statues.
The three tall Alphas in tailored suits almost filled the spacious elevator car. When they looked over, the pressure was immense. The elevator attendant lowered their head slightly.
Song Tao looked at the attendant, then at the man inside. “Mr. Qin, my boyfriend asked me to come and thank you. He has a few things he wants me to tell you personally.”
The elevator closed, leaving only the two of them inside. The three others, including the attendant, remained outside.
Qin Zheng: “Get on with it.”
Just looking at Song Tao’s blue-and-white hair made him irritable. Looking at his face was worse. In fact, Song Tao’s entire existence was a source of irritation.
Song Tao stared at him, licking his lip ring before speaking. “I know someone who recently awakened as a Succubus.”
He emphasized the word “Succubus” heavily. Qin Zheng, standing inches away, didn’t even blink. He replied impatiently, “What does that have to do with me?”
Song Tao: Tch. What an actor.
He took a step forward. Their shoes—still bearing each other’s footprints—touched. Qin Zheng suddenly realized a problem.
Song Tao was taller than him…
Damn it!
Song Tao assumed a predatory posture. “Guess how he spends the three days of his monthly cycle?”
Qin Zheng pushed him away with one hand. “I don’t care.”
To end the topic, he went on the offensive. “Did I not tell you that you aren’t allowed to change your hair color?”
Song Tao closed the distance again. The pins on his shirt nearly snagged Qin Zheng’s shirt, which was stretched tight over his pectoral muscles. He continued as if he hadn’t been interrupted:
“He drank my essence.”
