The Noble Lady Without Magic Aims to Become an Adventurer! - Chapter 65
We received the dragon’s hide and meat as part of our reward.
The scales, though small, were incredibly durable and semi-transparent, making them popular for decorative items. Among nobles, dragon scales are considered rare and valuable, often used in dresses to flaunt wealth and status.
I didn’t fully understand the appeal, but as accessories, they might be cute. Maybe I should have a matching set made.
“Fars, I’m thinking of using these scales to make a set—earrings, a hairpin, and a necklace.”
“That sounds like a great idea. Let’s arrange it later.”
I cut a piece of the dragon meat, skewered it on a broken branch, and roasted it over a fire spell. Sure, it wasn’t the most refined thing to do, but who cares at this point?
“It’s delicious!”
I almost wanted to eat all the meat right there, but I held back. There was plenty of meat, so I’d make sure to bring it back and share it with everyone at home.
“You’re eating with gusto as usual,” Arnold said, amused.
“Would you like some, Senior Arnold?”
“I’ll have a piece.”
“Me too!”
In the end, we all ended up roasting and eating the meat together. We sliced the meat into chunks, skewered them, and cooked them over the fire.
I even took out some salt from my hunting backpack and sprinkled it over the meat before biting in. Of course, I seasoned everyone’s portions as well.
Everyone kept saying how delicious it was and enthusiastically roasted and ate more. I wasn’t sure how much we ate, but it felt like quite a lot.
Despite that, the dragon was so large that there was still plenty of meat left. Once our stomachs were full, Senior Yele started preparing the magic circle to return, just as he had when we arrived.
Since we were taking the dragon with us, this time, he would use both mana stones and his own magic power for the teleportation. The Blue Dragon hunt hadn’t drained much of his mana, after all.
We teleported back to the courtyard in front of the Royal Palace’s mage tower.
Senior Yele had apparently informed them beforehand, as knights were already waiting for us at the teleportation site. They immediately began dismantling the dragon.
Watching the knights work so efficiently, I felt a bit guilty about how leisurely we had been eating earlier. They must have been waiting impatiently for us.
As expected of the knights, though—dismantling magical beasts was second nature to them. Other than the Royal Guard, it seemed the knights frequently participated in monster hunts to maintain morale and prevent complacency.
For someone like me, it was clear that interfering with the knights was out of the question.
“Senior Yele, Senior Arnold, thank you for everything today. We’ll take our leave now.”
“Thank you. Because of you, we were able to slay the dragon without anyone getting hurt. Fars, good luck at the tournament in two days.”
“Yes, sir!”
We received the dragon meat and hide with scales as our reward and headed back to the estate.
“Welcome back, my lady. I heard about the hunt, but you’ve returned rather quickly,” Otto greeted us in the entrance hall.
Fars pulled out a large chunk of dragon meat from his backpack to show him.
“Otto, please use this meat for tonight’s dinner. If there’s any left, share it with the staff.”
“M-My lady… is this…?”
“It’s Blue Dragon meat. I tried some after we killed it, and it was delicious.”
Otto’s face turned pale upon hearing about the dragon hunt. Well, it wasn’t surprising—only high-ranking adventurers were typically allowed to hunt dragons.
Back in my room, I let out a deep breath and sank into the sofa. Anna soon entered with tea.
“Fars, you have the combat tournament in two days, right? Rest well today. Anna will handle everything.”
“Understood. I’ll rest up for the tournament. Thank you, my lady.”
Fars bowed and left the room.
“Anna, I hunted a dragon today. Do you think these scales could be made into accessories?”
I took out about ten scales from my backpack and handed them to Anna.
“These scales are stunning. For Lady Marloa, they would be a symbol of your strength since you hunted the dragon yourself. I’ll contact a jewelry merchant immediately and have them crafted into accessories.”
“Thank you.”
“Still, I’m surprised your father didn’t stop you from hunting a dragon,” Anna said with concern.
“I only told Otto I was going to help with a hunt. Of course, I didn’t tell Father.”
“Please make sure to report properly next time. Otto, your mother, and I all worry about you.”
“Thank you, Anna. I’ll try to keep that in mind.”
After relaxing with tea, I faced Father’s inevitable scolding during dinner. It was understandable—his concern was genuine, so I accepted his words without complaint.
I planned to attend the academy in two days solely to watch Fars at the tournament.
Not that I was worried—Fars was sure to win.
