The Movie Queen's Beloved Crybaby Alpha - Chapter 53
Before dawn the next day, Ye Qinglan drowsily got out of bed.
Ning Yunshu, sensing the movement, sleepily opened her eyes and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Seeing she’d woken her, Ye Qinglan immediately softened her voice to coax her: “Sister Wei mentioned yesterday they’d go beachcombing this morning. I’d like to go too. If you’re still tired, sleep a bit longer.”
Hearing Ye Qinglan wanted to go beachcombing, Ning Yunshu propped herself up on the bed: “I’m awake. I’ll go with you.”
Ye Qinglan looked slightly helpless: “It’s fine, you can sleep more.”
“No.” Ning Yunshu refused instantly. “I want to go with you.”
Ye Qinglan chuckled and pinched her cheek. “So clingy.”
“I just want to go with my sister,” Ning Yunshu pouted playfully.
Ye Qinglan ruffled her hair: “Then get ready quickly. Hopefully we won’t miss it.”
After a quick preparation putting on rain boots and gathering tools they headed out, coincidentally running into Wei Youning and Xu Youyou coming from the opposite room.
“Morning! Going beachcombing too?” Wei Youning asked in a hushed voice, eyeing their gear.
“Yeah, might as well experience it while we’re here,” Ye Qinglan replied softly.
After exchanging glances, they quietly went downstairs, only to find Du Wenjun, Xu Chaoyang, Jiang Can, and his girlfriend already having breakfast.
“Wow, we were trying to be quiet so we wouldn’t wake you,” Wei Youning laughed. “Good morning, everyone!”
“Morning,” the group greeted in unison.
“Looks like everyone’s planning to go beachcombing,” Du Wenjun remarked, noticing their equipment.
“Yep,” Wei Youning said. “Youyou woke me up super early.”
Xu Youyou was brimming with excitement: “It’s a rare opportunity wouldn’t it be a waste to miss it?”
Jiang Can added, “I checked with the crew. We’re free until the tide changes, and we can livestream. There’s an activity scheduled for the afternoon.”
“Let’s grab some food and head out quickly?” Ning Yunshu suggested, turning to Ye Qinglan.
“Sure,” Ye Qinglan agreed with a smile.
After a quick breakfast, they set off with their tools.
By the time they reached the beach, many people were already busy. Most were locals skilled in beachcombing, so the group enlisted an instructor to teach them the ropes while also starting their livestreams.
Surprisingly, viewers had already gathered in the livestreams despite the early hour.
-Good morning! I can’t believe my early wait actually paid off!
-I left the stream on and woke up as soon as I heard voices. Morning, everyone!
-Here we go! Thanks to the show for curing my habit of sleeping in.
-Are you all beachcombing?
The group greeted their audience before learning how to forage for seafood under the instructor’s guidance. They picked it up quickly and soon ventured off on their own. Though not experts, they were thrilled just to find anything at all.
Ye Qinglan had already caught three razor clams. She turned to Ning Yunshu, proudly waving her haul.
“How was that?”
“Sis, you’re amazing!” Ning Yunshu enthusiastically clapped in admiration.
Ye Qinglan proudly lifted her chin and handed the shovel to her.
“Want to give it a try?”
“Sure.” Ning Yunshu didn’t refuse and took the shovel, starting her search.
Soon, she found a moon shell about half the size of her palm, perfectly intact though covered in a bit of sand.
“Look, sis.” Ning Yunshu rinsed the shell in seawater before presenting it to Ye Qinglan like a treasure.
“It’s so beautiful.” Ye Qinglan gently traced the shell’s intricate patterns.
Ning Yunshu beamed with pride. “I’ll go find a few more.”
“Sounds good.”
Watching their interaction, the live chat exploded.
-Is this really the CEO of a top global company and a famous actress? They’re acting like kids!
-I’m so envious of such pure, genuine affection!
-This is too sweet! I must’ve saved the planet in my past life to witness such an amazing couple.
Ye Qinglan and Ning Yunshu were having a great time, and soon their small bucket was filled with various sea treasures. When someone called out that the tide was rising, they finally headed back.
After regrouping, they noticed only Wei Youning and Xu Youyou’s buckets were completely full.
“Wow, quite the haul!” Du Wenjun exclaimed in admiration.
Wei Youning grinned. “What do you think? Pretty impressive, huh?”
“Absolutely! We bow to your skills,” Ye Qinglan said, playfully cupping her hands in a mock salute.
“Too kind, too kind,” Wei Youning replied with a similar gesture.
“But with so much, can we even finish it all?” Du Wenjun asked.
Xu Youyou patted her chest confidently. “No worries! We can sell the extra at the nearby market. I checked yesterday, there are buyers.”
“That’s a great idea. Would be a shame to waste it,” Jiang Can agreed.
With their plan set, they headed to the nearest seafood market.
Luckily, they found a buyer. After keeping some for themselves, they sold the rest and even earned a tidy sum.
Having had their fill of fun and successfully sold their catch, they returned to the homestay.
The host was already waiting for them and smiled at their cheerful chatter. “Looks like you all had quite the adventure!”
“Yep! Host, can we keep this money for our living expenses?” Xu Youyou asked eagerly.
“Of course! You earned it through your own efforts, so it’s yours to keep,” the host confirmed.
“We’re practically rolling in it now,” Wei Youning joked.
“So, what’s next?” Xu Chaoyang asked.
“With the weather perfect and the sea calm, our next activity is diving!” the host announced with a smile.
“Yay! Diving!” Xu Youyou cheered.
Jiang Can rubbed his nose nervously. “Uh, I’ve never dived before. Is that okay?”
“Don’t worry, everyone. We’ve arranged professional instructors to teach you the basics and ensure your safety underwater. We’ll also be in a safe zone,” the host reassured them.
Jiang Can sighed in relief. “That’s good. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to join.”
The host chuckled. “Since we’re at the beach, we shouldn’t leave any regrets behind.”
“Alright everyone, go pack your things. We’ll be taking a bus to the diving base later,” the host announced.
“Got it.”
Excited at the prospect of diving, everyone hurried back to their rooms to prepare before heading downstairs to board the bus to the diving center.
The staff warmly welcomed them. After changing into wetsuits and gathering their gear, they boarded a yacht to their destination.
The seamless blue of the sea and sky was a breathtaking sight, with coral reefs visible beneath the water. After listening to the staff’s briefing, they eagerly plunged into the water.
Through their goggles, they could clearly see the stunning coral reefs. Floating in the ocean had an inexplicably soothing effect.
Ning Yunshu was clearly the most skilled diver among them. After swimming a lap, she returned to Ye Qinglan’s side and pulled her deeper toward the coral reefs.
Vibrantly colored fish darted before their eyes, while uniquely shaped seashells dotted the reefs. Occasionally, they even spotted sea cucumbers and crabs among the marine life.
Ning Yunshu even found a conch the size of a fist.
Unable to speak underwater, Ye Qinglan gave her a thumbs-up.
Ning Yunshu’s joy was unmistakable her eyes crinkled behind her goggles, brimming with pride.
The two swam around for a while, snapping photos with an underwater camera before releasing the marine creatures they had picked up.
Only when they were completely exhausted did they return to the yacht.
“Whew, I’m beat,” Ye Qinglan groaned, collapsing onto a deck chair the moment she boarded.
Too tired and hungry to care whether they were still live-streaming, she sprawled out without a second thought.
Ning Yunshu climbed aboard as well and pulled a chocolate bar from her backpack, handing it to Ye Qinglan.
“Have some to replenish your energy.”
Ye Qinglan didn’t hesitate, unwrapping it and taking small bites.
After finishing the chocolate, she finally felt a bit better.
“Much better,” she said, sitting up with renewed energy.
“Why did you bring chocolate?” Ye Qinglan asked curiously. “I didn’t see you pack it earlier.”
Ning Yunshu smiled. “Diving takes a lot of stamina. I spotted a vending machine at the base with chocolate, so I grabbed some for everyone.”
“You’re so thoughtful,” Ye Qinglan praised.
Ning Yunshu’s lips curled upward just as the others began boarding one by one. She handed out chocolate bars to each of them.
The yacht soon set off back to shore, and once they docked, the group returned to their homestay by bus.
Too drained to prepare an elaborate lunch, they pooled their ingredients and, following Wei Youning’s lead, made a hotpot-style meal.
After eating their fill, the filming wrapped up but none of them felt like leaving that day. They decided to stay another night and depart the next morning.
With the livestream over, they let loose completely.
That evening, they threw a party at the homestay, stocking up on food and drinks. Du Wenjun even dug out a small karaoke setup from the homestay’s storage.
They ate, drank, and sang, aside from Jiang Can, everyone had decent singing skills. Caught up in the fun, they playfully urged Ye Qinglan and Ning Yunshu to duet a love song.
Ye Qinglan flushed bright red, but unable to resist the group’s teasing and Ning Yunshu’s pleading gaze, she eventually gave in and sang along.
As the song ended, Ye Qinglan naturally leaned against Ning Yunshu’s shoulder, while Ning Yunshu grinned foolishly and began peeling crayfish for her.
After teasing them, the group turned their attention to Xu Chaoyang and Du Wenjun. Amid the playful chaos, Ye Qinglan suddenly leaned close to Ning Yunshu’s ear and whispered softly,
“Xiao Shu, do you still want me to kiss you?”
The crayfish in Ning Yunshu’s hand nearly went flying.
Wait did she just imagine that?!
