The Movie Queen's Beloved Crybaby Alpha - Chapter 33
Ning Yunshu was absolutely canine!
When being kissed senseless by Ning Yunshu, Ye Qinglan’s mind could only grasp this single thought.
Finally unable to endure it any longer, she bit Ning Yunshu’s lip.
“Ouch.”
The pain finally made Ning Yunshu release Ye Qinglan.
Leaning back on the sofa to catch her breath, the flush still coloring her cheeks, Ye Qinglan shot Ning Yunshu a reproachful glare. Unfortunately, with her eyes still glistening, it lacked any real ferocity and instead carried a hint of allure.
“You’re such a dog, Ning Yunshu.”
Ning Yunshu feigned innocence: “We share the same zodiac sign, sister.”
Ye Qinglan couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation.
“Are you calling me a dog indirectly?”
“No, no.” Ning Yunshu scooted closer ingratiatingly. “I’d never dare.”
Ye Qinglan had come to realize that Ning Yunshu was the type who, to put it nicely, would blossom with the slightest sunshine.
To put it bluntly, she’d take a mile if given an inch.
“Alright, get off me.” Ye Qinglan pushed at Ning Yunshu’s shoulders.
“Oh.” Only then did Ning Yunshu reluctantly move.
Ye Qinglan took a sip from her water glass, only to find Ning Yunshu staring at her with puppy-dog eyes.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” That intense gaze made Ye Qinglan’s skin crawl.
Ning Yunshu simply said: “Because sister is beautiful.”
Ye Qinglan wasn’t buying it: “Flattery without cause is either theft or deception.”
“Cross my heart, I’m telling the truth.” Ning Yunshu immediately raised three fingers in solemn oath.
Ye Qinglan gave a soft humph.
“Though, there is something I’d like to ask sister.” Ning Yunshu suddenly changed tack.
Ye Qinglan’s expression said I knew it: “Go on then.”
Ning Yunshu began massaging Ye Qinglan’s legs ingratiatingly: “Could you not kick me out tonight?”
Ye Qinglan eyed her suspiciously: “The dagger is finally unsheathed, I see.”
Ning Yunshu counted on her fingers: “I can warm the bed and be a body pillow – such excellent options.”
“It’s summer. Too hot.”
“We can turn on the AC.”
Ning Yunshu said this as if it were the most natural thing.
Ye Qinglan snorted: “In your dreams.”
“Sister!” Ning Yunshu gazed at her pitifully, looking ready to burst into tears if refused.
Ye Qinglan felt her scalp tingle: “Ning Yunshu! You’re worth hundreds of billions now, must you still resort to crying at the drop of a hat?!”
Ye Qinglan was truly exasperated. Ning Yunshu had used this tactic since childhood, and damn if it didn’t still work on her.
Hopelessly wrapped around her finger.
Ning Yunshu whimpered: “Sister’s going to abandon me now.”
With an exasperated sigh, Ye Qinglan finally pinched the bridge of her nose: “Fine, as long as you don’t mind getting kicked off the bed again.”
Seeing her relent, Ning Yunshu’s imaginary tail began wagging furiously.
“I knew sister was the best!”
“So if I refused, I wouldn’t be the best?” Ye Qinglan arched an eyebrow.
Ning Yunshu blinked rapidly: “Of course not! Sister is always the best. If sister refused, it would definitely be my fault.”
Ye Qinglan was utterly speechless.
While others got PUA’d, Ning Yunshu was out here PUA’ing herself.
Having slept late into the afternoon, Ye Qinglan wasn’t particularly tired that evening. The two played video games until Ning Yunshu grew drowsy, then prepared to retire for the night.
This time, however, Ye Qinglan divided the bed in half with a row of pillows, claiming it was to prevent Ning Yunshu from getting restless during sleep.
Though Ning Yunshu felt a little aggrieved, she thought to herself since she had already managed to share the bed, the rest could be taken slowly.
After Ye Qinglan finished arranging the bedding, she sternly warned Ning Yunshu not to cross the line before turning her back to her and lying down.
Ning Yunshu had no choice but to obediently turn off the lights and stay on her side, not daring to overstep.
While Ye Qinglan struggled to fall asleep, Ning Yunshu, exhausted, soon drifted off, her breathing steady and even.
Ye Qinglan lay still for a while before quietly turning over to look only to find the pillows she had placed earlier blocking her view.
Tsk. Suddenly, those pillows felt like an unnecessary obstacle.
After a brief pause, making sure Ning Yunshu was still sound asleep, Ye Qinglan cautiously reached out and gently moved the pillow aside.
Ning Yunshu was facing her, and through the faint light filtering past the curtains, Ye Qinglan could just make out her delicate features.
She seemed genuinely tired, sleeping deeply, her thick lashes fluttering slightly with each breath.
Unconsciously, Ye Qinglan’s expression softened. She inched a little closer to Ning Yunshu before closing her eyes.
A peaceful night passed.
The next morning, Ye Qinglan woke up almost at the same time as Ning Yunshu.
The good news was this time, she hadn’t ended up hugging her.
The bad news was the pillows had mysteriously vanished.
The two stared at each other for a moment before Ning Yunshu suddenly snuggled closer, wrapping her arms around Ye Qinglan with a drowsy murmur.
“Good morning, sis.”
Ye Qinglan had been about to scold her for being so bold, but that soft greeting melted her heart instantly.
“M-Morning!” She nearly stumbled over the word.
Nearly overwhelmed by Ning Yunshu’s charm, Ye Qinglan quickly regained her composure and pinched her earlobe lightly.
“What’s this, Ning Yunshu? Trying to scam me first thing in the morning?”
“Nope.” Ning Yunshu tightened her embrace instead.
“Afraid you’d kick me off the bed,” she mumbled.
“Now you’re playing the victim first?” Ye Qinglan gritted her teeth playfully before pinching her cheek in retaliation.
“Then, sis, why don’t you hug me back? Call it even,” Ning Yunshu suggested, looking up at her.
Ye Qinglan kept a straight face as she peeled her off. “That still sounds like I’m the one losing out.”
Then she got out of bed. “Time to get up.”
Ning Yunshu had no choice but to follow.
After washing up and having breakfast, Ye Qinglan noticed Ning Yunshu preparing a lunchbox for her.
“You’re going to work today?” Ye Qinglan raised a brow.
“Yeah, I’m heading to the office later,” Ning Yunshu replied.
“Then don’t bother with that. I’ll just order takeout for lunch,” Ye Qinglan said, pulling her away. “If you’re busy, go ahead.”
Ning Yunshu smiled. “It’s no trouble. Besides, I’m worried you won’t eat properly if no one’s watching.”
Ye Qinglan twitched her lips. “I only skip meals when I really don’t feel like eating.”
“That’s not okay. What if you just grab something quick and don’t tell me?” Ning Yunshu countered.
“As if I would.” Ye Qinglan rubbed her nose.
Seeing her reaction, Ning Yunshu suddenly had an idea. “Sis, are you free today?”
“Huh? Yeah, why?” Ye Qinglan blinked, confused by the question.
Ning Yunshu smiled and said, “Then why don’t you come with me, sister?”
Ye Qinglan pointed at herself in disbelief. “Me? Go with you to your company? Ning Yunshu, have I gone mad, or have you? Or are you trying to drive Sister Ke crazy?” She eyed Ning Yunshu skeptically.
Ning Yunshu replied, “It’s fine. We can take the private elevator, and my office has a lounge where you can rest.”
Ye Qinglan sighed, “Sorry, I forgot you’re worth billions and have your own elevator.”
Ning Yunshu chuckled. “So it’s settled then? Go get changed, sister?”
“Alright.”
Truth be told, she was a little curious about Ning Yunshu’s work environment too.
Once decided, they each went to change. When Ye Qinglan emerged, she had covered herself up tightly again.
Ning Yunshu drove to the company’s underground parking lot. It was well past regular working hours, so the garage was nearly empty.
After swiping her card, Ning Yunshu led Ye Qinglan into the private elevator, taking them straight to the top floor and into her office.
Ye Qinglan was slightly nervous on the way up, worried about running into someone, but fortunately, they didn’t encounter anyone. Once inside the office, she instinctively took in the surroundings the floor-to-ceiling windows, the antique bookshelves lining the walls, the massive desk, and a seating area for guests. It looked no different from some movie sets.
“I thought there might be something more unique,” Ye Qinglan muttered.
Ning Yunshu laughed helplessly. “This was originally Ji An’s office, the head of the China division. It was handed over to me when I returned. We might acquire new land later to build a new headquarters, but for now, this will do.”
Ye Qinglan clicked her tongue. “Well, I’ve certainly broadened my horizons.”
Ning Yunshu smiled. “Sister, you’ll reach greater heights someday and see even more.”
“I doubt I’ll earn billions in my lifetime,” Ye Qinglan quipped.
Ning Yunshu grinned. “Easy solution just take me in. Then everything will be yours the money, the company, even me.”
“If your grandfather heard that, he might just come back to life out of sheer rage,” Ye Qinglan retorted, rolling her eyes.
“It’s my call now. He handed the company to me, so it’s up to me how I run it,” Ning Yunshu shrugged.
Then she added, “Would you like to wait in the lounge? I have some work to handle, but I’ll call you for lunch.”
“Sure,” Ye Qinglan nodded and stepped into the adjoining lounge.
Meanwhile, Ning Yunshu sat at her desk, turned on her computer, and dialed Qin Yun’s extension.
“Qin Yun, I’m in the office. Come over.”
Qin Yun arrived quickly, carrying a stack of documents. Seeing Ning Yunshu at her computer, she asked, “Are you feeling better?”
“Yes, nothing serious,” Ning Yunshu replied before gesturing to the documents. “Let me see the proposal.”
Qin Yun handed it over. “This includes the promotional and design plans for next quarter.”
“Good.”
The soundproofing between the office and the lounge wasn’t perfect, so Ye Qinglan could still hear their conversation from inside.
Unlike when she was coquettishly talking to me at home, Ning Yunshu sounded rigorous, serious, and meticulous when handling official matters. It was hard to imagine she was the same person who had been acting spoiled and unreasonable with me this morning.
It couldn’t help but make me sigh time had changed everything. The little crybaby who used to trail behind me, weeping all the time, had now grown into someone capable of standing on her own.
And yet, it only made my heart race for her even more.
