The Moon Shines Upon Me - Chapter 17
Chapter 17: Woo-hoo
Shen Yuan was stunned.
Is being straight really that important?
She looked at Gu Shiwei in confusion and asked, “Is being a straight girl rare in your circles?”
“No.” Gu Shiwei hooked a strand of hair behind Shen Yuan’s ear, twirling it around her fingertip before slowly saying, “Straight girls aren’t rare. But a straight girl like you—who is so beautiful and has never been in a relationship—is very rare.”
Gu Shiwei leaned down close to Shen Yuan and whispered in her ear, “Shen Yuan, I’ve known for a long time that I’m gay. I like girls.”
“I see…” Shen Yuan leaned back slightly to create some distance between them. She looked up at Gu Shiwei’s face, which was inches away, her expression hesitant.
Gu Shiwei pressed closer again, her light-colored eyes fixed intently on Shen Yuan’s face. “What is it? What do you want to say?”
“It’s just…” Shen Yuan spoke with a conflicted expression. “Gu Shiwei, do you want to… try… taking some traditional Chinese medicine to regulate your system?”
Gu Shiwei was almost moved to angry laughter by those words. She gripped Shen Yuan’s wrist tightly and said through gritted teeth, “Who needs regulating? Everyone’s ‘gaydar’ was beeping the moment you walked in. Shen Yuan, how could you possibly be straight?”
In truth, Shen Yuan didn’t actually know what her sexual orientation was. She lowered her head in silence for a few seconds and said somewhat uncertainly, “Actually, I’ve never liked a man, and I’ve never liked a woman. So… I should… probably… count as a… straight girl, right?”
Gu Shiwei was taken aback. “You don’t like Lin Qinghuan?”
Shen Yuan: “?”
Seeing Shen Yuan’s confused expression, Gu Shiwei’s racing heart finally settled back into her chest. An irrepressible joy slowly overflowed in her eyes.
A moment later, Gu Shiwei let out a long breath and said with a relaxed face, “The reason I misunderstood and thought you liked Lin Qinghuan was because whenever I invited you to dinner, you always made excuses to reject me. Yet this time, one phone call from her brought you to a bar without you even hesitating for more than two seconds…”
And just now, Shen Yuan had been looking back repeatedly. Who else would she be looking for if not Lin Qinghuan?
Hearing Gu Shiwei’s words, Shen Yuan suddenly raised a hand to press against a throbbing vein in her temple. She took several deep breaths and then said calmly, “…Miss Lin has someone she likes.”
“And if Lin Qinghuan didn’t have someone she liked?” Gu Shiwei pressed further. “Shen Yuan, would you like her then?”
Shen Yuan said decisively, “No.”
The corners of Gu Shiwei’s mouth curled up instantly. But the smile only lasted for a second before it vanished.
Gu Shiwei said, “Then, what if it was me?”
Shen Yuan was full of question marks: “What’s wrong with you?”
Gu Shiwei stared at Shen Yuan’s blank expression for a long time before finally sighing helplessly and swallowing the rest of her words. She switched the topic somewhat stiffly: “Shen Yuan, do you know what it represents when you proactively take a lesbian’s hand?”
Shen Yuan: “What?”
Gu Shiwei: “It represents that you are flirting with me.”
Shen Yuan’s mouth twitched, and she couldn’t help but explain, “…I didn’t mean it like that.”
Gu Shiwei said, “I know you didn’t mean it like that, but don’t you want to verify whether you actually like women or not?”
Shen Yuan looked at Gu Shiwei in confusion. “How can it be verified?”
“It’s simple. Try holding hands, kissing, and hugging a woman as well as doing more intimate things.” After Gu Shiwei spoke, her gaze flicked downward. “Hand-holding has already been tested; you didn’t seem to find it repulsive.”
Shen Yuan indeed didn’t find it repulsive to hold hands with Gu Shiwei as a member of the same sex. However, the next method of verification seemed to be kissing. Shen Yuan imagined the scene of kissing Gu Shiwei and suddenly couldn’t help but want to back out. “I think, maybe… let’s just… forget it.”
“What are you afraid of?” Gu Shiwei arched an eyebrow and said with a smile, “Don’t you want to figure out your own orientation?”
Shen Yuan didn’t speak, looking at Gu Shiwei thoughtfully. Seeing Shen Yuan’s expression soften, Gu Shiwei continued her gentle persuasion: “Shen Yuan, I can help you.”
Shen Yuan’s lips moved, and she finally spoke: “Do you know that Ji Xiao… she likes you.”
When she heard the name Ji Xiao, Gu Shiwei’s brow furrowed. “She and I are just friends.”
Shen Yuan: “I see…”
Seeing Shen Yuan’s indifferent expression, Gu Shiwei quickly added, “She has never confessed to me, so I have no way to reject her feelings. If you don’t want to get close to me because of her, I can promise you that I will never let you have that kind of worry again.”
Gu Shiwei’s tone was very solemn.
Shen Yuan was stunned for a moment and said subconsciously, “It’s not entirely because of her. It’s mainly my own problem.”
Shen Yuan said, “I’ve never tried doing such intimate things with anyone.”
Gu Shiwei: “It’s just a verification. We’re both single, what are you afraid of? Besides, if you can’t accept it, you can push me away with force.”
Since Gu Shiwei had put it that way, it would seem ungrateful if Shen Yuan rejected her again. After all, Gu Shiwei just simply wanted to help her. Plus, Shen Yuan was also curious to find out if she was actually gay.
Gu Shiwei’s looks and figure both suited Shen Yuan’s aesthetics, and their personalities were very compatible. If Shen Yuan really had to find a woman to kiss for verification, Gu Shiwei was undoubtedly the best choice…
Shen Yuan once again simulated the image of their lips touching in her mind. It seems… I don’t find it repulsive.
Since that was the case, Shen Yuan pursed her lips, looked directly into Gu Shiwei’s eyes, and said sincerely, “Then I’ll have to trouble you.”
“It’s no trouble.” The corners of Gu Shiwei’s lips curled up. Her fair fingertips, which had been pinching Shen Yuan’s hair, slowly wound behind her ear.
Gu Shiwei’s palm pressed against Shen Yuan’s jaw. With just a slight application of force, Shen Yuan’s head was tilted far back.
Usually, Shen Yuan’s complexion was pale, but now it was tinged with a faint crimson. Her eyelids were thin and pink, her eyelashes trembling minutely like a butterfly resting on a petal.
Gu Shiwei’s gaze traveled inch by inch over her face, yet she delayed taking the next step.
Shen Yuan’s ears were bright red. She bit her lower lip, her dark eyes full of confusion. “Aren’t you going to kiss me?”
The moment she finished speaking, a soft sensation touched her cool lips. As their lips met, a tingle quickly surged up Shen Yuan’s spine. Her body felt as if it had been hit by an electric current tingling and numb and even her brain became slightly hyperactive.
Gu Shiwei wasn’t satisfied with just their lips touching. She sucked and licked Shen Yuan’s lips like they were jelly until they were red and moist. Upon tasting the grape juice between Shen Yuan’s lips, Gu Shiwei gently pried open her teeth and her tongue slipped inside.
Feeling the intrusion, Shen Yuan’s eyes suddenly widened as she looked at Gu Shiwei in disbelief. But the next moment, Shen Yuan stopped thinking. Gu Shiwei’s hand moved up from Shen Yuan’s neck to pinch her ripening earlobe.
Her sensitive earlobe was rubbed back and forth by Gu Shiwei’s fingertips. Simultaneously, Gu Shiwei’s kissing became even more forward, her tongue exploring Shen Yuan’s mouth and entangling with her tongue in a shared descent.
The tingling sensation spread through her entire body. Shen Yuan tilted her head dazedly, accepting the onslaught of the storm. Her eyes were half-closed, her pupils hollow and blank. Her hands clutched weakly at Gu Shiwei’s collar. If not for a strong hand supporting the small of her back, Shen Yuan might have felt her knees give out and knelt on the ground.
“Shen Yuan, breathe.”
Shen Yuan’s mind was a complete blank, and her ears were ringing. Gu Shiwei’s voice sounded as if it were coming from a great distance, hazy and unclear. Shen Yuan subconsciously took a breath, and a sliver of clarity briefly returned to her mind.
“Good girl.”
Gu Shiwei kissed her again. Shen Yuan’s brow jumped, and using all her strength, she tilted her head to dodge. The scalding kiss landed on the side of her neck. The next second, Gu Shiwei gripped Shen Yuan’s chin and kissed her flushed, watery lips once more.
Fireworks exploded in Shen Yuan’s head. Her fingers, which had been clutching Gu Shiwei’s collar, slowly loosened and slid down, hanging limply by her side.
Sensing Shen Yuan’s movements, Gu Shiwei held her by the waist and walked a few steps. A moment later, Shen Yuan’s back was pressed against the cool wall. With the wall’s support, Shen Yuan finally stopped swaying.
“Shen Yuan, we still need the hug.”
After Gu Shiwei spoke, she raised Shen Yuan’s arms and placed them on her shoulders, creating an inseparable posture. By now, they had tested hand-holding, kissing, and hugging together, and Shen Yuan hadn’t shown the slightest discomfort.
Gu Shiwei happily planted a few more kisses on Shen Yuan’s lips. Shen Yuan didn’t have much of a reaction at this point; she was still immersed in the tingling sensation permeating her body. Because it felt too comfortable, her eyes were half-squinted, and her lips were slightly parted as she breathed, revealing a small section of her deep red tongue. Gu Shiwei gripped Shen Yuan’s chin and leaned in to kiss her a few more times, stopping only when that section of her tongue was sucking until it trembled slightly.
It was Gu Shiwei’s first kiss, and she hadn’t expected the sensation to be so wonderful. It wasn’t just the entanglement of lips and tongues that was mesmerizing; the spiritual compatibility also brought her immense pleasure. Every look and movement from Shen Yuan deeply attracted Gu Shiwei. Gu Shiwei’s soul seemed to have detached from this world; she could only see Shen Yuan’s figure and only hear the wet sounds of their mouths rubbing together.
When the driver called, Shen Yuan still hadn’t come to her senses. Gu Shiwei leaned over to pick her up in a princess carry. After entering the warm car, Shen Yuan’s half-closed eyelids finally lifted.
“Do you want water, Shen Yuan?”
“No.”
I’ve clearly ‘drunk’ enough just now.
Gu Shiwei didn’t force her, unscrewing the cap and taking a sip herself. Then she leaned over, gripped Shen Yuan’s chin, and passed it to her.
Shen Yuan: “???”
“What are you doing? Cough, cough, cough…“
The driver in the front seat, who had been humming a little tune, instantly went silent. Shen Yuan covered her mouth in embarrassment and turned her head to look out the window without a word, leaving Gu Shiwei with only a stubborn back of the head.
Gu Shiwei didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as she patted her shoulder, saying in a softened voice, “Shen Yuan, you’re ‘drunk.’ Drinking some warm water will make you feel better.”
“I didn’t even drink alcohol, how could I be drunk.”
Shen Yuan stopped halfway through. She licked her moist lips and then realized why she was drunk. No wonder she had been feeling groggy and weak in her limbs. At the time, she was so immersed in the kiss with Gu Shiwei that she had completely ignored the scent of alcohol.
Seeing that Shen Yuan had figured it out, Gu Shiwei handed the bottle to her again, gently coaxing, “Take another sip.”
Shen Yuan obediently took the bottle and had a few sips. After finishing, she remembered that Gu Shiwei had also drunk from this bottle just now. The flush on Shen Yuan’s face, which hadn’t faded yet, deepened even further. Crucially, Gu Shiwei wouldn’t stop staring at her for even a second.
Shen Yuan wanted nothing more than to burrow into the back of the seat.
Shen Yuan: “Gu Shiwei.”
Gu Shiwei: “Mm?”
Shen Yuan: “Thank you.”
Gu Shiwei: “Why are you thanking me?”
Shen Yuan: “I think I can accept it.”
Gu Shiwei: “Did it feel good?”
Shen Yuan: “???”
