The Mad Beauty and the Sick Young Lady [Transmigration Novel] - Chapter 43
The kiss lasted for a very long time.
It wasn’t until the music ended that their lips abruptly parted.
Su Li was drenched in sweat, as if she had just been pulled out of the water, gasping for air like a drowning person.
Her hands were shaking, and her body was shaking. She heard Jiang Zhuoye’s question but couldn’t answer.
Jiang Zhuoye was asking:
“What’s wrong? Are you out of breath? Does your heart still feel uncomfortable? Shall we go out?”
Su Li reached out and grabbed Jiang Zhuoye’s clothes, nodding her head. Jiang Zhuoye supported her waist, and they slowly exited the crowd.
In a distant, open area, there were some tents. Jia Sihan was nearby, keeping an eye on the pair’s movements.
Seeing the two walk over, she rushed forward and was stunned at the sight of Su Li:
“What happened to you? Your face is so red. Should I call a doctor?”
The music festival was, of course, equipped with doctors. Su Li shook her head, only saying:
“I want to rest for a bit.”
Jia Sihan quickly offered the biggest and most comfortable tent behind her to Su Li.
Su Li walked in, and Jiang Zhuoye tried to follow, but Su Li stopped her outside:
“I want to be alone.”
Jiang Zhuoye quietly guarded the tent outside.
Jia Sihan walked over, observed Jiang Zhuoye’s expression for a while, and was very puzzled:
“What did you two do inside? Why is your expression so… profound?”
Jiang Zhuoye looked at Jia Sihan with a profound expression, curved her lips into a smile, and her eyes turned into crescent moons.
Jia Sihan:
“Alright, it definitely wasn’t anything good!”
However, she also knew there was nothing she could do. She knew how tight-lipped Jiang Zhuoye was, so she wouldn’t be able to get any information.
Jia Sihan could only stare at the tent, wondering if the person inside would be easier to talk to, and if future PR work should start with her…
Inside the tent, Su Li certainly didn’t know what Jia Sihan was thinking, and she didn’t even know what she was thinking herself.
Was this crazy? Wasn’t she, wasn’t she personally destroying her own best friend relationship? How could she kiss a top-tier O, and… and be so enthusiastic…
The taste was too good. Jiang Zhuoye’s lips were softer than tofu, sweeter than honey, and smooth and silky…
Later, they had even used their tongues. She couldn’t tell who initiated it first, but… Su Li was completely immersed and unable to pull herself out. It was Jiang Zhuoye who finally pulled away.
Su Li was covered in sweat, and she vaguely drifted into sleep.
The loud music of the music festival continued outside, and the whole ground seemed to be trembling, but amidst this shaking, Su Li actually fell asleep quickly.
In her confusion, she had a long, long dream.
She dreamed of Jiang Zhuoye’s first half of life in another world.
All the stories Jiang Zhuoye had told her before appeared one by one before her eyes. Su Li was like a fleeting passerby, experiencing everything Jiang Zhuoye went through, yet unable to interfere even slightly. Every time she wanted to save that poor little girl, her hands would become transparent.
Time flew by in the dream. Jiang Zhuoye grew from a child to an adult, and finally came to the awards ceremony, holding up the golden trophy, so bright and dazzling.
But Su Li’s heart was filled with sorrow. Tears kept falling. Following Jiang Zhuoye back home and seeing the blurry faced, skinny best friend, she could no longer hold back. She pounced on the best friend, wildly swinging her fists, but every punch landed in the air.
Flames rose up, and Su Li felt hot all over. She saw Jiang Zhuoye as only a dark shadow in the flames, twisted, screaming… the pain, like a tsunami, completely engulfed Su Li from head to toe. The heat radiating from beneath her skin made Su Li unable to scream or leave the place.
It was like a scene from hell.
“… Li Li, wake up…”
Su Li suddenly opened her eyes and found herself being shaken by Jiang Zhuoye gripping her shoulders. Seeing her wake up, Jiang Zhuoye’s expression slightly relaxed. She pulled out a pill and held a cup of water:
“Hurry and take this. Why did you suddenly go into heat?”
Su Li then realized that the surrounding space was filled with her own intense scent of orange.
This was a tent with basically no scent blocking function. Outside was a densely packed music festival, with so many Alphas…
Su Li didn’t dare to imagine the chaos that would ensue if her pheromones, as a top-tier Omega, spread out.
She grabbed the cup from Jiang Zhuoye’s hand and finally managed to take the pill. The heat beneath her skin was still radiating, but the pheromone emission seemed to have lessened.
Su Li looked at Jiang Zhuoye with half-closed, hazy eyes, her waist tilting as she sat up, incredibly seductive, like a willow branch brushed by the spring wind.
She indistinctly heard various noisy sounds outside. Besides the music, there were low growls, screams, and the sound of intense fighting.
“What’s going on outside?”
Su Li spoke and was surprised by her own voice. Why was it so hoarse?
“Some Alphas were attracted. Don’t worry, I’ll go out and check.”
Jiang Zhuoye said seriously, then gently touched Su Li’s cheek with extreme tenderness:
“Stay here and rest well. I’ll come back and keep you company later.”
Su Li didn’t want Jiang Zhuoye to accompany her, but she had no other choice. She could only accept it in silence.
Jiang Zhuoye lifted the tent curtain and stood with the security guards outside, who were shouting, “Everyone calm down.” Jia Sihan was also next to her, looking frazzled when she saw Jiang Zhuoye come out:
“What are you doing here? The situation is like this, aren’t you afraid of being photographed?”
Jiang Zhuoye:
“Let them take pictures. It’ll be a good opportunity to photograph the faces of these Alphas when they are in heat they’re more disgusting than animals.”
Jia Sihan was speechless and could only continue calling the bodyguards they collaborated with, urging them to rush to the scene to help. How could the few security guards provided by the music festival possibly hold them back?
The pheromones hadn’t spread far yet, but there were already a dozen or so Alphas blocking the tent, fighting each other, each one looking mad, with red eyes, totally ignoring what the security guards were saying.
Fortunately, the security guards provided by the music festival were all Betas, unaffected by the pheromones, and were working conscientiously.
Jiang Zhuoye stood quietly at the edge of the clamoring crowd, her eyes slightly narrowed, her coat corner slightly raised, her aura silent and powerful.
The sight of ten or so people wrestling and fighting was truly unpleasant. Jiang Zhuoye watched for a while and then shifted her gaze, only to meet the eyes of a short man who had sneaked around to the side of the tent.
The short man was discovered, but he didn’t hide. He even showed a vulgar smile, one hand already reaching for the zipper on the side of the tent. With a little force, he could open the tent.
The short man was an Alpha with very ordinary aptitude. He came to this music festival with the idea of sleeping with a girl.
It was impossible for an Alpha with his poor aptitude to sleep with an Omega. Being able to sleep with a Beta casually would be a blessing. After busy working for half the night with no success, he hadn’t even touched a girl’s hair. Just when the short man was getting annoyed, he suddenly smelled the extremely rich, fragrant, sweet, and tempting top-tier Omega pheromones wafting from the tent!
The short man was ecstatic. While the other, more qualified Alphas were fighting in chaos, he quietly sneaked to the side, but he hadn’t expected to be discovered.
But upon closer look, he was even more pleasantly surprised to realize that the person who found him was Jiang Zhuoye, the famous beautiful Omega in the entertainment industry!
What could an Omega do to him? Even if Jiang Zhuoye started calling the security guards now, it would be too late. It seemed he would succeed tonight that was the scent of a top-tier Omega!
However, the next second, the short man saw Jiang Zhuoye pull out a small spray bottle from who knows where, aiming it at him.
Jiang Zhuoye even wore a smile on her face as she quickly pressed the nozzle.
“Ahhh…”
The short man instantly clutched his head, screaming in pain!
This must have been high concentration pepper spray. It got into his eyes, nostrils, and mouth, hurting so much it felt like his skin was being scraped off!
The short man writhed on the ground, wailing, but Jiang Zhuoye hadn’t stopped. She put away the small spray bottle, snatched a baton from a nearby security guard’s belt, and walked towards the man, wielding the stick.
Jia Sihan:
“Hey, don’t!”
The moment she finished speaking, Jiang Zhuoye had already struck. The muffled blow landed on the short man’s body, making his wail change pitch.
The wooden handled, iron-core baton was very heavy. Jiang Zhuoye deliberately chose to hit the less fleshy, more painful areas, without a shred of mercy. She was intentionally trying to knock this person out, or even cripple him!
Even the security guards were stunned by the ferocity of Jiang Zhuoye’s attack. Jia Sihan’s face was ashen. She could already imagine what a PR disaster this would be.
The short man’s wails and pleas for mercy initially echoed across the venue, but they eventually became muffled whimpers mixed with groans.
Jia Sihan went up and pulled Jiang Zhuoye away. Jiang Zhuoye’s baton was already bloody. She held the stick with both hands, clearly exhausted herself, with her hair stuck to her cheeks from sweat.
But her eyes were astonishingly bright. She swept her sharp gaze across the dozen or so Alphas in front of her, whose rationality had been awakened by the wails. She said nothing, only curving her lips slightly.
A smile like a demon.
Jiang Zhuoye had played countless roles, not a few of which were psychotic killers. If she wanted to, she could even kill with her eyes.
The dozen or so Alphas, each with cuts and bruises on their bodies and faces, saw this situation. The strongest desires were extinguished. They scattered and left the scene dejectedly.
Inside the tent, the pheromone emission had also stopped. Jiang Zhuoye used the baton as a crutch, standing there tall and straight, guarding the tent entrance.
Jia Sihan thought it was a pity that Su Li couldn’t see this scene. Otherwise, Su Li would definitely fall in love with Jiang Zhuoye. What kind of guardian knight was this! Which girl could refuse such a beautiful knight?
The security guards handed over the baton to Jia Sihan, taking it from Jiang Zhuoye, and escorted the unlucky short Alpha away. The short man had lost teeth, was swollen and bruised all over, bleeding from his nose, and walked away timidly, crying and hiding himself against the security guard.
Seeing that the area outside the tent was finally quiet, Jiang Zhuoye asked Jia Sihan:
“Do you have any water?”
Jia Sihan handed Jiang Zhuoye a bottle of mineral water, but the latter didn’t drink it. She only gestured for her to pour the water and washed her hands with the thin stream.
She washed her hands very seriously, using up the entire bottle of mineral water, then tidied her clothes and wiped her hair with a tissue, tucking it behind her ears. She looked like a fresh and beautiful woman again.
Only then did she lift the tent curtain and walk inside.
Outside, Jia Sihan clicked her tongue, thinking that Jiang Zhuoye was really head over heels this time, surprisingly falling for someone of the same sex.
Inside the tent, Su Li had also heard the wailing outside and was sitting there nervously wringing her fingers. Seeing Jiang Zhuoye enter, her face lit up:
“How’s the situation outside? Why did I hear someone screaming for help?”
Jiang Zhuoye smiled gently, as if nothing had happened, walked over, and sat down on the blanket Su Li was sleeping on, saying softly:
“It was nothing. Just some people were attracted by your scent and were fighting outside they fought pretty hard. Don’t worry, I and the security guards have already maintained order here. Sleep if you want to. I’m here.”
Su Li didn’t want to sleep anymore. She had been in heat for a short time, and now her mind was a little confused, but she was mentally excited.
She looked at Jiang Zhuoye, and for a moment, she was lost in thought again, recalling that kiss. Her gaze involuntarily fell upon Jiang Zhuoye’s lips.
Jiang Zhuoye noticed the change in her gaze, extended a finger, and smiled as she pressed it against her own lips:
“Not tonight, okay? I’m afraid you’ll have a pheromone surge again.”
Su Li:
“…”
She was so embarrassed she wished she could dig a hole and bury herself in it right there. What the heck was coveting her best friend’s lips?!
However, saying this seemed to naturally make the previous awkwardness disappear. She couldn’t bring it up again, and Jiang Zhuoye wouldn’t bring it up again. They both tacitly agreed to pretend nothing happened.
Su Li always felt this wasn’t right, but it also didn’t seem too bad. She… only had so much time left. She shouldn’t delay Jiang Zhuoye.
Whether Jiang Zhuoye liked the same sex or the opposite sex, she deserved a healthy and long-lived partner, not herself.
Su Li’s heart was sour, but at the same time, a secret longing arose: Since they couldn’t last forever… would it be okay for her to be a little greedy?
Jiang Zhuoye looked at Su Li:
“Shall I sleep here with you tonight?”
Su Li should have shaken her head, but she nodded, as if by a strange impulse.
She… would just be a little greedy this one time.
