The Mad/Beautiful Movie Queen Heard My Inner Voice After Losing Her Memory - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
“Well, I couldn’t exactly just stand there and watch you get hurt, could I?”
Yu Guiyao frowned, the words slipping out of her mouth before she could think.
In that moment, their eyes locked. It felt as if time had reached a standstill. Fu Wenchen’s eyes were brimming with tears.
This was likely a face-to-face reunion she had never dared to imagine. Her meticulously applied makeup was now ruined by the rain, and as they clung to each other, soaked to the bone, she felt utterly disheveled. She bit her lip to suppress her ragged breathing, her eyes reddening uncontrollably.
Rain splashed against the ground, kicking up mud.
The taller woman’s shadow loomed over her. Rainwater dripped from Yu Guiyao’s jaw onto Fu Wenchen’s cheek. That face had long lost its youthful innocence from seven years ago, replaced by a mature, alluring beauty. Those pitch-black pupils were like a vortex one could easily drown in.
Yu Guiyao’s long, wet hair fell forward, the damp ends lightly brushing against Fu Wenchen’s neck, intertwining with her own tresses.
In this instant, seven years of time felt like nothing. On the nearby sea, flecks of fluorescent light floated like a fallen galaxy. The light enveloped their bodies, their gazes entangled, and their heartbeats suddenly descended into chaos.
Fu Wenchen felt a surge of heartache and bitterness. She wanted to reach out and caress the other’s face, yet she didn’t dare touch her, terrified that she might vanish…
And then, she suddenly heard the inner voice.
That block was definitely worth five thousand yuan. Oh yeah!
Fu Wenchen: “???”
In that split second, her moved expression seemed to crack.
The crew had realized something was wrong. Panic set in, and the scene devolved into a mess. Yet, it felt as if only the two of them were crossing a galaxy, drawn to one another.
Yu Guiyao’s long hair was a mess. She suddenly smiled at her and said sheepishly, “Are you okay?”
At that moment, Fu Wenchen’s heart skipped a beat. She forgot everything else and hurriedly nudged Yu Guiyao’s shoulder, calling out: “Get up, quick. Besides your hand, where else are you hurt?”
She subconsciously reached out and touched the other’s chest; it was soaked.
Is that blood?!
Fu Wenchen was frantic.
Yu Guiyao, however, quickly rolled over like a big golden retriever rolling in the dirt. Lying in the muddy water, the tips of her ears turned red as she replied: “I’m… I’m fine…”
Fine, my foot! I can’t feel my hand! she wailed internally.
A second later, Fu Wenchen scrambled up and reached out to wrap her arms around Yu Guiyao’s waist, trying to help her up: “Hurry, to the hospital!”
She frowned, the panic in her eyes genuine. Her beautiful face, drenched in rain, took on a pale, fragile quality.
The director and the rest of the crew rushed over. Her best friend Lin Xiao was particularly frantic. Seeing Yu Guiyao’s hand covered in blood, she yelled at the “traffic” starlet: “What the hell were you doing? Don’t you check the props before filming?”
Everything was going so well, and then this happened!
The culprit, seeing the scene, immediately tried to wash her hands of it: “I didn’t know! I didn’t know it was a real sword!”
“Checking props is the prop team’s job! What does it have to do with me?”
Perhaps she truly didn’t know; few people would be stupid enough to set themselves up like that.
But Fu Wenchen would investigate this thoroughly, and she wouldn’t let her off the hook…
Fu Wenchen gave the starlet a chilling look, but when she turned back to Yu Guiyao, her face was full of concern.
In her haste, she said: “Let’s get this wire harness off first.”
Flattered and overwhelmed, Yu Guiyao stood up with her support. Since she couldn’t use her hands to steady herself, she had to let the other woman hold her waist. Their soaked bodies pressed tightly together as they worked in tandem to strip off the harness.
Fortunately, the blood on her hand wasn’t gushing. She admired her own ability to think about other things in such a situation, but Fu Wenchen’s current state was simply too heart-melting. She looked nothing like the “murderous villain” the system described.
How could someone who gets this worried over a stranger’s injury commit murder? Someone with this much empathy?
Yu Guiyao looked down. Fu Wenchen was pale, her eyes shimmering with what looked like tears. Her cold beauty now radiated a sense of vulnerability that triggered a protective instinct.
The actress gently held her hand, staring intensely at the gruesome wound on her palm, then at the blood spreading across her T-shirt. Her brows furrowed deeply as she guided her toward the exit: “I will take responsibility for you.”
Yu Guiyao: “…”
Take… take responsibility?
“I’ll be responsible for your medical bills, mental anguish, lost wages…” Fu Wenchen looked at her with eyes full of worry, like the fluorescent lights dancing on the waves. The corners of her eyes were tinged with a faint red.
Yu Guiyao met her gaze and nervously swallowed, her mind functioning with a dull slowness.
She’s actually so nice!
Even though she’s a superstar, she’s so down-to-earth…
The woman didn’t seem to care at all that Yu Guiyao was covered in mud, holding her waist tightly as she escorted her out of the set.
Assistants tried to step in to help, but they couldn’t find an opening. With a single glance from Fu Wenchen, an assistant understood and quickly handed over a coat.
Fu Wenchen draped the coat over Yu Guiyao’s head, hiding her face.
Yu Guiyao was dazed, and then she heard the chaotic roar from outside the set.
“Wenchen! Fu Wenchen!”
“AAHH! What happened? Why is there blood on my Wenchen?!”
“An ambulance is here!”
“Dammit, who did this?!”
Yu Guiyao didn’t even need to look to know this was going to blow up. The flashes of cameras were blinding even through the coat. She followed Fu Wenchen’s lead and boarded the ambulance.
Just as she stepped up, she tripped and fell face-first into Fu Wenchen’s embrace.
Unable to use her hands to brace herself, she kept them raised, her entire weight leaning into the other woman in a comical pose. As she tried to lift her head, the coat slipped down slightly.
Fu Wenchen held her tightly, pressing her head back into her chest, and said urgently to the nurse: “Stop the bleeding and bandage her, now!”
The paparazzi and fans outside were filming frantically. The fans almost broke through the security barrier, shouting excitedly: “Who is that?!”
“Stay away from my Wenchen!!!”
The medical staff quickly shut the ambulance doors and sped away.
Yu Guiyao breathed a sigh of relief, thinking she really should stay away from her…
But for some reason, whether out of nerves or something else, Fu Wenchen pressed her head even harder against her chest, whispering: “Does it hurt?”
“N-no, it doesn’t.”
The nurse, who was bandaging her, glanced at them and couldn’t help but let a smile tug at the corner of her lips.
Yu Guiyao was in pain, but she could only endure it. Her cheeks flushed as her face remained buried in the soft, fragrant fabric of the woman’s clothes. The scent was intoxicating, and she almost couldn’t breathe. She stammered: “Can you… let go now?”
Only then did Fu Wenchen release her and pull the coat off her head.
The two sat awkwardly to the side. Once Yu Guiyao’s hand was bandaged, the nurse said: “If you don’t feel pain, we might need to check if there’s nerve damage.”
Yu Guiyao: “…”
“Also, please take off your T-shirt so I can check the wound on your chest.”
At those words, Yu Guiyao prepared to pull her shirt off.
Beside her, Fu Wenchen suddenly reached out and pulled the collar of Yu Guiyao’s shirt wide, exposing the wound directly. She asked: “Is this okay?”
“Yes,” the nurse replied, quickly using a cotton ball to stop the bleeding.
Yu Guiyao was wearing a sports bra underneath; the wound was just below her collarbone. Luckily, it was just a flesh wound—it just needed cleaning and bandaging.
Yu Guiyao stole a glance at Fu Wenchen’s expression. What actually made her nervous was Fu Wenchen’s gaze.
Because the collar was pulled open, the nurse couldn’t see from her angle, but Fu Wenchen’s eyes were fixed squarely on her.
The black sports bra was soaked, and Yu Guiyao’s muscles were tensed. Although the other woman’s gaze seemed “proper,” sweat was still trickling down toward her abs.
From that angle, it was obvious that Yu Guiyao exercised regularly; her physique was incredibly toned.
Unlike seven years ago, she now exuded a mature aura, like a ripe peach.
A dark glint hid in the depths of Fu Wenchen’s eyes, and she secretly bit her lip.
Once the nurse applied the gauze, Fu Wenchen immediately pulled the collar back and draped the coat over her again.
In the next moment, the virtual dialogue box appeared before Yu Guiyao’s eyes.
Villain’s Blackening Value -1. Current: 98
Yu Guiyao: “!!!”
She really is a good person! The blackening value actually went down!
Yu Guiyao turned to look at her. To her surprise, Fu Wenchen was looking up at the same time. Their eyes met, and both subconsciously let out a faint smile.
Fu Wenchen suddenly repeated: “I will take responsibility.”
She would be responsible for helping her undress, bathe, and take care of her daily life in the coming days, slowly invading her world.
After all, her hands were injured, weren’t they?
Fu Wenchen’s smile grew more radiant. Her peach-blossom eyes curved slightly, and her red lips tilted upward. Her coldness vanished, leaving behind a breathtaking beauty.
“Mm-hmm.” Yu Guiyao, infected by the smile, couldn’t help but feel a burst of joy.
So, how much should I ask for in lost wages and mental damages? No point in passing up free money!
She had never met someone as “nice” as Fu Wenchen.
Yu Guiyao smiled, revealing a tiny tiger tooth. Her eyes were bright as ink, her damp hair clinging to her cheeks, and her skin glowing with a clean, wet luster.
They sat shoulder to shoulder. Their skin tones were shades apart, but Yu Guiyao’s beauty was natural and raw. The mole on the tip of her nose added a touch of charm, and her smile was so pure it looked like she would be easy to fool.
Fu Wenchen secretly reached out and gripped the edge of Yu Guiyao’s coat, the madness in her heart becoming uncontrollable.
She couldn’t wait to possess her…
