The Lost Omega Heiress is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 22
Shi Anzhi, be kinder to yourself.
Though she called it compensation, it was Shen Tingxue who had initiated the desire.
What was the point of talking about love and affection? It was better to simply follow physical desires. She admitted she was deeply fascinated by Shi Anzhi’s body.
In the past, her heats had been suppressed with potent inhibitors from the lab. Her encounters with Shi Anzhi were her first real experiences.
After experiencing pleasure a few times, she never wanted to rely on inhibitors again.
Shi Anzhi’s hand was forced to brush against Shen Tingxue’s body. Her palm trembled slightly, and so did her heart.
When it came to intimacy in bed, Shen Tingxue was always the one taking the lead.
At first, Shi Anzhi thought it was because of her heat. Later, they did it even when she wasn’t in heat. That night had been wild, and Shi Anzhi believed it was fueled by intense love.
But now, what was the reason?
At the moment when she should have been blushing and heart racing, Shi Anzhi only felt humiliation.
Why was Shen Tingxue like this?
She refused to engage in deeper communication, treating sex as a transaction as if Shi Anzhi could be dismissed after a few encounters, as if Shi Anzhi were nothing more than a friend prioritizing physical desires.
Noticing Shi Anzhi’s lack of response, Shen Tingxue guided her hand to brush against a sensitive spot, deliberately letting out a shameless moan. “Mmm…”
She panted, “Your hand has calluses.”
Shi Anzhi shifted her hand uncertainly, trying to pull back.
In the next moment, Shen Tingxue smirked triumphantly, leaning forward to press herself more firmly against Shi Anzhi’s hand, teasing, “That’s why it feels so good when you rub there.”
Shi Anzhi’s emotions were in turmoil.
She disliked how Shen Tingxue used seduction to evade difficult questions, rejecting true intimacy. What Shi Anzhi wanted had never been just a physical relationship.
Though Shen Tingxue seemed to be humbly offering herself, Shi Anzhi knew she was merely catering to Shen Tingxue’s needs.
Was this all they would ever be?
Shi Anzhi fell silent, her expression cold as she deliberately pinched a certain spot, watching Shen Tingxue’s reaction.
This time, her grip was too harsh. Shen Tingxue immediately gasped in pain, yet found it oddly thrilling.
Then she leaned in, capturing Shi Anzhi’s lips and biting her lower lip as punishment.
Shi Anzhi tried to pull away, but Shen Tingxue held her head firmly. Sharp teeth soon broke the skin of her lower lip, and the taste of blood filled her mouth.
The pain on her lips felt real, stirring a restless agitation in Shi Anzhi. No longer holding back, she kissed back fiercely, her hands roaming over Shen Tingxue’s body.
Did Shen Tingxue find this pleasurable?
She felt none of it.
As Shi Anzhi intensified her touch, Shen Tingxue frowned slightly, letting out a soft moan and flinching from her hand.
“I never knew you had such tastes.”
Shen Tingxue teased, her breath warm against Shi Anzhi’s cheek as she released a surge of pheromones.
The room filled with the scent of snow pear, which Shi Anzhi detected instantly.
Bound by their temporary mark, their bodies still yearned for each other. Guided by the pheromones, a trace of tenderness returned to Shi Anzhi, and she loosened her grip slightly. “Do you still find this pleasurable?”
“Of course.”
Shen Tingxue laughed again, irritating Shi Anzhi, and countered, “What about you?”
Shi Anzhi didn’t answer, waiting for Shen Tingxue to admit she wasn’t enjoying it.
But Shen Tingxue’s words remained stubbornly defiant.
No matter how she moved, Shen Tingxue cooperated fully, her eyes tinged with crimson at the corners, her lips slightly parted as she let out soft, pleasured gasps.
For her, this was simply a way to unwind after a stressful schedule, a release through intimacy.
As a lover, Shi Anzhi performed well.
After fully releasing her tension, Shen Tingxue gently pushed Shi Anzhi away and headed straight for the bathroom.
Shi Anzhi watched Shen Tingxue’s retreating figure, momentarily stunned, unable to pull herself out of the lingering intimacy.
Listening to the sound of running water from the bathroom, she felt a pang of discomfort in her heart.
Twenty minutes later, Shen Tingxue emerged wearing a nightgown and found Shi Anzhi still standing dazedly by the bed. “There’s more than one bathroom in this house, didn’t you know?”
Shi Anzhi looked up.
Right, this wasn’t the slums. Unlike her own home, where everyone had to take turns bathing, here things were different.
During her heat, they had bathed together once, finding a strange kind of intimacy in the cramped space, but such moments would likely never happen again.
Of course, she knew the Shen residence couldn’t possibly have only one bathroom. She just felt out of place here, resistant to any space where Shen Tingxue wasn’t present.
When had it started? Ever since coming to the Special Zone, she had gradually grown timid about the outside world, feeling as though everyone knew she was disabled, an orphan, and would look at her with disdain, mocking her.
And the only person she trusted here, Nian Xue. Shen Tingxue, might even join them in ridiculing her.
She really didn’t like the Special Zone.
Seeing Shi Anzhi fall silent again, Shen Tingxue felt a bit stifled and spoke in the tone she used with subordinates, “Go take a shower. There are plenty of unworn clothes in the wardrobe pick whatever you like.”
Remembering how Shi Anzhi used to buy clothes for her, Shen Tingxue summoned the smart housekeeper and added the task to its to-do list for the next day, instructing it to help select outfits.
She had been too busy lately and doubted she could find time to take Shi Anzhi on such trivial outings.
Once she successfully seized power, she could make up for these things slowly.
Shi Anzhi went into the bathroom.
Inside, there was both a shower and a bathtub, the air still carrying traces of pear-scented pheromones and the fragrance of shower gel.
She fiddled with the shower system, trying several switches without success. When she turned the fourth one, cold water abruptly poured down.
Drenched from head to toe, Shi Anzhi stood frozen for a moment before mechanically undressing and repeating the motions of lathering and rinsing.
Tilting her head back, she let the cold water stream over her skin, washing away the dampness at the corners of her eyes.
It took a long time before Shi Anzhi finally changed and stepped out of the bathroom.
By then, Shen Tingxue was already feeling drowsy and had lain down, with only a dim, yellowish nightlight illuminating the bedroom.
“Come to bed,” Shen Tingxue said, yawning.
Shi Anzhi silently climbed into bed, curling up at the edge with her back to Shen Tingxue, holding herself tightly.
Watching her from behind, Shen Tingxue sensed a hint of grievance.
This Alpha’s pheromones were far too faint. Even after their intimate moments, she could barely catch a whiff. The usual damp scent she associated with Shi Anzhi now carried a chill.
The most prominent scent Shen Tingxue could detect on Shi Anzhi was that of their shared shampoo, a subtle blend of bergamot and night-blooming lotus.
If only Shi Anzhi’s pheromones were stronger, she might have been able to sense her emotions better. Instead, it felt like she was sleeping beside a Beta.
Shen Tingxue lay facing Shi Anzhi, watching her curled up in a posture completely different from the relaxed, open way she used to sleep in the slums. A dull ache tightened in her chest.
Was Shi Anzhi feeling wronged?
Since she had chosen to stay, why be so awkward? If she wanted anything, she could just say it.
If only Shi Anzhi would speak up more, take the initiative, they could go back to being as clingy as before.
“Turn over,” Shen Tingxue commanded.
Shi Anzhi heard her but didn’t respond.
Shen Tingxue frowned, staring at that stubborn back, and felt a surge of irritation.
She turned away herself. Fine.
Shen Tingxue thought, let her Abebe sleep however she wants, as long as she’s in her bed.
In the darkness, Shi Anzhi lay with her eyes open, silent. After what they had just done, she should have been tired enough to fall asleep easily.
But she felt no drowsiness at all. Lying on the soft, large bed, surrounded by the faint, sweet scent of pear, the days in the slums felt like a lifetime ago.
This discomfort was unlike anything she had experienced before. Shi Anzhi had no frame of reference for this kind of pain. Hazily, she wondered, Shen Tingxue really isn’t Nian Xue, is she?
Nian Xue was gone.
By the time Shi Anzhi woke the next day, Shen Tingxue was no longer in the bedroom.
She hadn’t expected to sleep so deeply probably because she was still recovering from her illness.
As she stirred, a blue stream of data shimmered in the air, projecting a message:
[A doctor will come today to check on you. They’re with me, just cooperate.]
[This is my private residence. Usually, no one else is here. Feel free to look around.]
The data displayed only text. Shi Anzhi tried to picture Shen Tingxue saying these words and found the image unfamiliar.
Where had Shen Tingxue gone?
In the past, when she came home late, Nian Xue would cry, afraid she had been abandoned. They faced dangers together and overcame them, a bond forged through shared hardship. They had even killed Ding Sha together.
But now, Shen Tingxue did everything without telling her.
Shi Anzhi let out a cold, bitter laugh.
She went to the kitchen to find something to eat. Soon, the doctors arrived, all business as they drew her blood and collected her pheromones.
Their attitude was distant yet polite. They didn’t explain what the samples were for, simply completed their task and left. They answered only to Shen Tingxue.
Once again, she was alone in the house, with only the intangible, uncooperative smart assistant for company.
Shi Anzhi had never been one for idle chatter, but now, she suddenly felt terribly lonely, desperate to confirm she still had a connection to the world.
After a moment’s thought, she called Xiao Qu, who answered quickly.
“Sister Anzhi.”
Xiao Qu’s tone lacked the excitement from their last call, tinged instead with worry, as if holding something back.
Shi Anzhi’s nerves tightened immediately. “What about BoBo? Did something happen to him?”
“No, no, he’s fine. I even gave him a bone today.”
“Thank you!” Shi Anzhi relaxed slightly.
“Is he home? I want to hear his voice.”
Xiao Qu said, “He’s at home, but I’m fixing a tire for Dr. Teng right now. I’ll let you hear him when I get back. He hasn’t been eating well lately, he must miss you.”
Unconsciously, Shi Anzhi’s lips curved into a faint smile. It didn’t matter that the fruit shop had been smashed; as long as her dog was safe, that was enough.
“Sister Anzhi, are you still at the border hospital? When are you coming back?”
“Who? Are you talking to Shi Anzhi?” Teng Ying’s voice came through.
“Yeah,” Xiao Qu replied.
After some static, Teng Ying’s voice sounded again from the other end of the line.
“Shi Anzhi.” Teng Ying sighed softly. It had only been a few days since she last saw Shi Anzhi, yet she already missed her friend a little.
Come to think of it, this was the first time Shi Anzhi had traveled so far from home in her entire life, and she had gone to the Special Zone. It was only natural for her to feel a sense of disparity.
“What’s up?” Facing Teng Ying, Shi Anzhi reverted slightly to her old self from the slums. “Got some dirty work for me again?”
She almost unconsciously blurted out the words.
Teng Ying chuckled. “Well, you can still joke around. That puts my mind at ease a little.”
Shi Anzhi found it strange. What was there to be at ease about? Was it because of the shop being vandalized?
“Ah, speaking of which, it’s my fault for being so ignorant. How would I have ever met the only daughter of the Shen family from the Special Zone? By the way, you didn’t tell Shen Tingxue that I was the one who swiped that necklace, did you?”
Teng Ying recalled the day Shen Tingxue came to get her medicine and felt a slight chill of fear. “She won’t come after me later, will she?”
Hearing this, Shi Anzhi stiffened. “How did you know her identity?”
“Who doesn’t know? The Shen family’s press conference has been playing on a loop on TV. Even District R has televisions. She’s set to marry the Governor’s son everyone’s talking about it.”
At this, Teng Ying snorted lightly. “When are you coming back? This time, at least you’ve latched onto a rich one. Make sure to squeeze as much money out of them as you can before you return.”
Shi Anzhi lowered her head. From Teng Ying’s tone, it seemed she assumed Shen Tingxue would abandon her.
Well, after learning about Shen Tingxue’s true identity and her engagement, that was the normal reaction, wasn’t it?
“Can I even go back now.” she murmured, not refuting the implication in Teng Ying’s words.
“Why wouldn’t you be able to come back? Ding Sha is dead. It’s just some remnants putting up a fight now. If you ask me, you should hurry back and take over Ding Sha’s position in District R while the situation is still unstable.”
Teng Ying coaxed, “We can rebuild if the house is gone. People like us have our own way of living. Besides, your little dog is still here.”
Shi Anzhi’s nose tingled with emotion. Lately, her mood had often dipped like this.
As if sensing Shi Anzhi’s hesitation, Teng Ying softened her voice. “Shi Anzhi, be a little kinder to yourself.”
“You don’t owe her anything.”
