- The Little Jealous Cat Who Transmigrated into a Delicate Beauty
- Chapter 3 - The First Encounter
Su su had been hunkered down in front of her computer for nearly four hours. From the perspective of a R&D professional, she was stubbornly attempting to use scientific knowledge to explain everything that had happened today.
All technical difficulties could be answered via a search engine, yet there was no trace of information regarding a cat turning into a human; there were only the doting and teasing remarks of “cat slaves” toward their masters.
Post 1: How long do you have to raise a cat before it turns into a human?
“That depends on its karma! But the one in my house has already become a spirit! Attached: [sleeping_posture.gif] [standing_posture.gif] [sitting_posture.gif]”
“Wake up, animals aren’t allowed to become spirits after the founding of the PRC~”
“I have a bold idea Cat Girl, here I come! High energy alert ahead; pure-hearted girls please steer clear!”
Before today, if Susu had seen such a thread, she would have joined in as a veteran cat owner by posting a picture of her own little master’s soul-stirring sleeping position or saying something teasing. But at this moment, the stubborn cat owner only wanted a scientific and rational explanation.
To have the cat she had raised for three years turn into a cat demon and flee it would be a lie to say it wasn’t terrifying. But beyond the terror, her heart felt mostly hollow and lost.
How she wished this was all just a dream!
In the twenty-six years of her life, the sum of all the human affection Susu had received did not even amount to a tenth of what Qinqin had given her over these three years. This was also the reason why she had chosen to distort the truth today.
Whether it was an animal or a cat demon, in her eyes, none were as powerful as humans.
With technology as advanced as it was today, dealing with an unidentified object that did nothing but “meow” would be as easy as turning over a hand. This final act of protection would serve as a way for her a “heartless” owner to repay the debt of companionship from the past three years.
From this point forward, whether it lived or died, or brought harm to the world, it had nothing to do with her.
In a corner of the industrial park, Ye Qingqing, having finished listening to the long-winded explanation from the Tmall Elder, widened her feline eyes.
“You want This King to go and curry favor with that human?”
The Tmall LOGO shook its plastic body, trembling as it spoke.
“Yes, Great King. Currently, this is the only method we can try!”
Ye Qingqing’s brow furrowed into a river shape. Just as she was about to fly into a rage, the Tmall LOGO collapsed to the ground with the wind. A weeping electronic voice echoed out.
“Great King, forgive me. This old servant should not have offended the Great King, but before the Late King passed away…”
It was originally an Elder of the Meow Realm, but now it had been fashioned by humans into the image of a Tmall Sprite. Because it was extremely nervous just now, the “ying-ying-ying” sobbing tone it produced was completely inconsistent with its original status.
Ye Qingqing couldn’t stand the sound. She subconsciously scratched her ear with a claw and gave a heavy, loud meow.
“Stop!”
The Tmall LOGO’s triangular mouth snapped shut, transforming into a short straight line. Its two O-shaped eyes also closed, becoming two horizontal bars as it lay quietly on the ground, waiting for the Cat Queen to lash out.
The usually arrogant and condescending Ye Qingqing finally softened her tone upon hearing the words “Late King.”
“Speak! What do you want This King to do to get close to that human?”
Hearing that the plan had succeeded, the Tmall Elder quickly opened its O-shaped eyes, its triangular mouth opening and closing as it said:
“This old servant shall now transmit the memories of the interaction between the cat owner and Qinqin over the past three years to the Great King!”
As the electronic program was inputted, the sense of imagery in Ye Qingqing’s mind grew stronger.
Dusk, Xingrong Apartment Complex. A young woman placed a brand-new cardboard box in the corner of Unit 2, Building 10. Inside, a tiny kitten less than two months old was whimpering.
A kind-hearted girl carrying a large bag of cat food hurried over. She wore a coffee-colored sweater paired with a tea-colored floral skirt literary and striking.
“Wow, what a cute little kitten!”
Under her sweet-toned exclamation, a few passersby also gathered around.
Qinqin was a purebred American Shorthair (Silver Tabby and White), with standard markings, white gloves, and a very symmetrical face. Small and fluffy, she was indeed adorable; generally, no cat lover could resist such a temptation.
“Excuse me, are you going to throw it away?”
The beauty in the floral skirt was eager to act, looking as though she would take it immediately if it were being discarded.
The woman glanced at her.
“The big cat at home had a litter. This one is sick, and I’m afraid it will infect the other kittens, so I could only bring it out. Do you want to raise it?”
As she spoke, little Qinqin very intelligently acted cute toward the young lady, her round eyes sparkling.
The kind-hearted girl, who had been full of passion just a moment ago, subconsciously took a step back the moment she heard the kitten had a contagious disease. Afterward, she pinched some cat food from her bag and scattered it over as an act of charity.
“I’m renting a place, there’s no room to keep it. But I can come down every day to feed it!”
The beauty in the floral skirt did not forget to offer a hypocritical sigh of admiration after her refusal.
“Wow, look everyone, it’s so cute!”
Qinqin’s expectant gaze fell into a void. She slumped her head in the box and did not eat the cat food the “kind person” had bestowed upon her.
Ye Qingqing, currently receiving the memory, gave a very disdainful meow at this scene.
“Heh, you little cat, you really have no backbone!”
Just as she finished meowing, a soft, thin voice abruptly appeared in her mind.
“Mom, I’m about to get on the elevator. I’ll hang up now!”
The girl’s lips curved into a smile, her beautiful peach-blossom eyes curving into crescents. Dressed in plain colors and standing in the light of the setting sun, she looked slender and solitary.
“Ah, okay, okay. Goodbye, Susu!”
It wasn’t until the laughter of the middle-aged woman on the other end of the voice call rang out again that Ye Qingqing realized this tiny human was named Susu.
The moment the call ended, the girl’s crescent-like smile vanished instantly. She gave a cold glance to the passersby teasing the cat behind her and turned to go upstairs.
Ye Qingqing was curious about how this tiny human had ended up taking the cat home. Just then, a sense of danger rushed toward her.
Before she could think, the memory was overwritten by images of being attacked from all sides by her own kind.
“Meow-ow!” “Wa-oh!” “Woo…”
A pack of stray cats, like mad dogs fighting for food, lunged toward the cat food beside the cardboard box. Little Qinqin trembled all over, curling into a corner, having lost more than half of the baby fur on her neck from sheer terror.
Ye Qingqing stomped her paws in frustration.
“What are you afraid of? Rush up and bite them! You useless thing!”
The Tabby Tribe prided themselves as tigers. Ye Qingqing was a top-tier warrior of the tribe; in her eyes, these low-life thugs fighting for territory weren’t even worth extending her claws for. A single whirlwind strike would slap them all to the ground. Taking their heads off was merely a matter of opening her mouth.
But at this moment, she was merely a bystander and could only fret in vain.
After the gang of local stray cats finished their warnings and ate all the cat food on the ground, they left in a group.
Poor little Qinqin curled up alone in the corner, not daring to take even half a step out.
From then on, at the same time every day, the beauty in the floral skirt would arrive punctually to scatter food. She would stand far away and say things like how the cat had gotten thinner, but she never touched it. After scattering the food, she would turn and leave.
And that human named Susu would also pass by, sometimes early and sometimes late, but she never gave it even a single look of sympathy.
Qinqin’s health declined day by day. In the end, she didn’t even have the strength to crawl. Yet, that damned will to survive drove her to risk being bitten to death by those thugs and crawl out of the box.
That night, the moonlight was like silver and the surroundings were silent. She followed the scent to the scattered cat food and swallowed it frantically. After only a few bites, a warning growl came from behind.
Before Qinqin could turn her head, a plump orange cat led its brothers and sisters and rushed over. Calicos, cows, and other local cats blocked the area around the box so tightly that not even water could leak through.
The orange cat swiped a paw, pinning Qinqin to the ground, its fangs lunging toward her white belly.
Following that, the other cats pounced to tear at her.
Under the vicious claws and teeth, Qinqin didn’t even have the strength to meow. She resigned herself to lying there, letting her companions tear her apart.
Sharp, jagged teeth pierced through the fur and sank into the flesh, again and again. Just as she was at her last gasp, a pebble flew in from the side.
“If you don’t want to die, all of you get lost!”
