The Little Jealous Cat Who Transmigrated into a Delicate Beauty - Chapter 2
Ye Qingqing was trying her utmost to restrain herself, but the effects of the human anesthetic made it impossible for her to maintain her feline form. She could only struggle in such a human posture, her cries growing increasingly tragic.
The girl still hadn’t realized what was happening; she was merely curious why a perfectly fine young lady would imitate a cat’s cry and make such strange sounds.
At that moment, a trembling, roaring male voice suddenly erupted within the room.
“Ghost! There’s a ghost!”
Only then did Susu notice the pet doctor collapsed beside the operating table. She glanced back at the “pole-dancing” girl on the table who was meowing.
“Doctor Chen, what are you all… where is my cat?”
“Cat? Cat! Ah… there’s a ghost, help me!”
The squinty-eyed doctor’s reaction was far too intense; he scrambled on hands and knees to shrink into a corner. His colleagues, somewhat bewildered, rushed forward to comfort him.
“Doctor Chen, are you alright?”
Hearing the voices of people he knew, Doctor Chen regained a sliver of consciousness. He grabbed a colleague’s arm, cowering behind her, and pointed at the girl dancing on the operating table, screaming.
“Quick, call the police! She’s a monster!”
Everyone instinctively shifted their gaze toward her.
The anesthesia in Ye Qingqing’s system was still lingering. Being stared at by a group of stupid humans in this state filled her with such rage and despair that her fur had she been in cat form would have stood entirely on end.
“Wa-wu!”
Everyone was perplexed.
However, as the “poop-scooper” (owner), Susu had already quickly pieced together what she believed to be the truth behind this series of blunders.
Her little kitten must have unfortunately passed away during the surgery, and these staff members were simply using their clumsy acting skills to evade responsibility.
Suppressing the grief in her heart, her beautiful peach-blossom eyes narrowed slightly as she seriously observed the dancing figure of Ye Qingqing. Without anger or fire, she spoke in her usual thin, soft tone.
“I rarely encounter such a splendid performance in real life. Miss, would you please tell me where is my kitten now?”
Ye Qingqing struggled for a long time before she could finally align the birthmark between her brows with her owner. She bared her little tiger fangs and let out another “Wa-wu,” a fierce howl warning her not to come closer.
The girl’s slender fingers tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. She stepped forward, brushed a hand over the cat fur remaining on the operating table, and gave it a light puff of breath.
A hint of contempt and mockery gathered in her beautiful eyes.
“Our Sakura Princess Pet Hospital is one of the top shops on the market. Surely, Miss, you aren’t trying to use this brilliant performance to tell me that my kitten has turned into a butterfly and flown away?”
Ye Qingqing: ???
I have no idea what you are saying. You tiny human, do not challenge the limits of this King! Give me the antidote!
Along with a faint scent of mint in the air, Ye Qingqing felt the discomfort in her body ease significantly. With a sudden twist, she transformed back into a cat, leaped off the operating table, tucked her tail between her legs, and scrambled toward the door.
After managing to put some distance between them, she paused at the doorway for half a second and let out a “Meow” at the girl who had given her the mint “antidote.”
“Consider yourself tactful. This King shall not settle scores with you today, but I will find you later!”
After finishing her threat, Ye Qingqing wagged her tail and quickly ran away, leaving behind a room full of stunned humans.
Even after the police arrived, Susu, as the owner, still couldn’t accept the fact that her kitten had turned into a monster. Everything that had happened felt like a dream.
They pulled all the available surveillance footage. Every image showed the owner carrying the kitten into the operating room and the kitten escaping from it.
An hour later, all witnesses were called in to give statements, including Susu.
In the interrogation room, an officer tapped the table with a serious expression.
“You also saw it with your own eyes? That cat turned into a human form and escaped?”
The cat owner’s beautiful peach-blossom eyes were filled with a touch of daze. She processed the officer’s question word by word, while her mind rapidly replayed the three years of daily life spent with her kitten.
Indeed, throughout her life, she had never shown her true heart to people, yet she had given her true heart to a cat. But now, as a materialist, she had watched with her own eyes as the kitten she had pampered for three years turned into a cat demon right in front of her. She couldn’t accept such a fact, but what could she do? With so many people present and so many eyes witnessing the truth, she couldn’t exactly lie to herself and say she was seeing things…
After several seconds of silence, the girl finally spoke.
“No, I did not see the cat turn into a human!”
“Oh?”
The officer was quite surprised by her answer. “Then please explain in detail what you saw!”
Susu paused for a few seconds, still using that slow, thin, and soft tone.
“After I brought the cat in, Doctor Chen performed the surgery while I waited outside. Later, I heard a commotion inside and rushed in, and the other staff followed.”
She stopped, waiting for further inquiry. The officer nodded, signaling her to continue.
“After entering, I didn’t see the cat. I only saw Doctor Chen fainted beside the operating table.”
“And did you see any other person?”
Facing the officer’s question, the girl recalled calmly for a few seconds before shaking her head.
“No, it was just Doctor Chen himself.”
“He had fainted, and his colleagues went to help him. I was worried about my cat, so I searched everywhere.”
“But it might have been frightened. I searched for a long time and couldn’t find it.”
“When I knelt down to search the corners and crevices thoroughly, I saw it suddenly dash out from another direction.”
Susu pretended to reminisce while observing the interrogator’s expression.
Likewise, in this materialistic world, unless one sees it with their own eyes, ordinary people would not believe a ridiculous story about a cat turning into a human.
“I think perhaps Doctor Chen was too tired from work and had a hallucination.”
The enforcement officer was actually more inclined to believe the owner’s testimony. However, for the sake of the work process, he mechanically asked the next question.
“Then why does everyone else say they saw the cat turn into a human?”
The girl shook her head and remained silent for a few seconds.
“I don’t know!”
After going back and forth like this, she finally left the interrogation room.
As for the other so-called witnesses, after careful consideration by the officers, they were made to write several-thousand-word self-reflections and slunk away.
Meanwhile, the Cat King, having escaped from the humans’ clutches, was dazzled by the world of heavy traffic. Coupled with the lingering discomfort of the anesthesia, for the first time, she felt that her “meow-life” had lost its sense of control.
Ye Qingqing passed through one bustling street after another. As she neared an e-commerce park, a black, cat-shaped object descended from the sky. It crouched at the Cat King’s feet and let out a feline cry.
“Tmall is late to provide protection! Please punish me, Your Majesty!”
It was a clone of the Tmall Elder lurking in the human world, disguised as a tech building logo. Sensing the Cat King’s aura, it had quickly appeared.
Ye Qingqing narrowed her eyes, her voice carrying a hint of suspicion.
“Are you… Tmall?”
“Yes, Your Majesty!”
Ye Qingqing pulled her “airplane ears” back.
“This King was clearly discussing matters in the Great Hall, why would I…”
Thinking of the humiliation she had just suffered at the hands of humans, the proud Cat King hesitated.
The Tmall logo rotated its O-shaped eyes and triangular mouth.
“I just suffered from insufficient memory and a lag in my program, so I failed to respond to Your Majesty in time. Please forgive me!”
The Cat King tilted her nose toward the sky, exuding natural authority without even being angry.
“Tell me, then, what is the situation now!”
The Tmall Elder’s electronic voice was rigid and formal.
“To answer Your Majesty: because of the program lag, your supernatural body appeared in the human world, causing some panic. Although I managed to erase all surveillance footage before the authorities investigated, the one who ultimately resolved the crisis was Your Majesty’s owner. It was she who defended you in the interrogation room!”
“My owner?”
Ye Qingqing let out a contemptuous “Heh.” The Tmall Elder adjusted its stiff posture with the wind and explained respectfully.
“Your Majesty, you are currently the pet cat of an ordinary programmer. And your owner is the target you need to conquer in this human world. Therefore, I urge Your Majesty to take her seriously!”
When she heard the words “target to conquer,” the image of the girl blowing hair at her in provocation involuntarily flashed through Ye Qingqing’s mind. The frown lines between her brows tightened.
The Tmall Elder couldn’t gauge the Cat King’s thoughts and risked turning on its mind-reading mechanism.
That arrogant human! She actually dared to scorn this King! Sooner or later, I will make you kneel down and lick this King’s fur!
