- The Little Jealous Cat Who Transmigrated into a Delicate Beauty
- Chapter 19 - Repaying Kindness
Sensing movement in her arms, Ye Qingqing dissatisfied burrowed her head deeper into the embrace. Her two legs naturally entangled around the other’s waist; long and slender, she hung there as soft as a snake, making it impossible for one to have the heart to push her away.
Su Su’s entire body was stiff. Perhaps from being covered for too long, a dry heat washed over her, making her heart race. She held her breath to calm down for half a second, then slowly, very slowly, extricated herself from the girl’s body and ran to the bathroom to take a shower.
After she went in, Ye Qingqing woke up as well. She hopped off the bed with bare feet and crouched by the door, pawing at it.
“Poop-scooper? Poop-scooper!”
Su Su came out after her shower.
Ye Qingqing was sitting cross-legged on the floor, tilting her chin up to look at her.
“Why were you in there for so long?”
Su Su picked her up from the floor, sat her down on the edge of the bed, and took a pair of slippers to put on her feet.
“The floor is cold. Don’t sit there in the future, okay?”
Ye Qingqing rolled her eyes, wearing an expression that said, This King shall sit wherever she pleases.
When Su Su went to the vanity to put on makeup, Ye Qingqing followed, hovering and wandering around her incessantly.
Su Su finished getting ready and prepared to head out.
Ye Qingqing lunged forward, hugging her from behind and rubbing her face against Su Su’s body. Her shallow breath, filtered through the fabric of the clothes, felt so warm.
Su Su turned around and pulled her into a reciprocal embrace, resting her chin on the girl’s forehead while patiently coaxing her.
“Be good, King of Poop. Sister is going to work. When I get back, I’ll make my baby potato-braised beef brisket, okay?”
Ye Qingqing rubbed her head against her chest, took a deep sniff of her scent, and looked up to give an instruction.
“Do not trick This King again today!”
Su Su leaned down and kissed the beauty mark on her face.
“I won’t. I’ll get off work early today!”
Ye Qingqing obediently pulled herself out of the embrace and used her small hands to push her toward the door.
“Go then!”
Once Su Su left, the girl sat like a cat on the computer chair and began to study.
Ye Qingqing had always been independent and understood gratitude. At this point, dogmatic communication and mere flattery could no longer satisfy her needs. She wanted to treat Su Su well in her own way, so she worked toward what she wanted to do with intense focus.
Su Su didn’t work overtime today and ran back as soon as she clocked out. Qian Xiaoju also clocked out on time she never worked late and the two of them took the elevator downstairs together.
Hengsheng was a world-renowned major corporation, and the R&D employees were extremely competitive. At this hour, the elevator was usually empty. The two of them stood very close, and as Qian Xiaoju smelled the scent of another woman on Su Su, she felt inexplicably upset.
“Is that ‘cousin’ of yours still here?”
“Mhm!”
“No wonder you’re leaving work so early!”
Qian Xiaoju wasn’t a meticulous person, but she subconsciously added that last sentence, fearing others might misunderstand.
Su Su didn’t pay much attention. When the elevator reached the 42nd floor, a crowd from the administration department swarmed in, separating the two.
Downstairs, Qian Xiaoju took the subway home while Su Su walked back to the dormitory; their paths diverged.
Upon parting, Qian Xiaoju waved at Su Su.
“CouCou Hotpot has a new product. Let’s bring your cousin along some other time!”
Over the years, she had researched the area’s restaurants and new openings very thoroughly, all for the sake of finding excuses under the guise of “improving their lifestyle” to get closer to Su Su.
When Su Su reached the bottom of the apartment building, a thick aroma of food hit her nose. She took the elevator up, and the smell grew stronger, seemingly coming from her own dorm. She thought her roommate was cooking and didn’t think much of it.
Pushing the door open, she didn’t see the “cat,” only hearing the clattering sounds coming from the kitchen.
“King of Poop?”
Ye Qingqing was busy and didn’t respond.
Su Su changed into her slippers and went to the kitchen to find her.
Ye Qingqing was wearing an apron, holding a spatula and plating a dish. Dirt from the potatoes had smudged her small face, and her brow was furrowed in a way that was strangely coordinated with her current seriousness.
Looking at her movements, Su Su’s heart felt inexplicably warm.
She walked over, embraced the little creature from behind, and buried her chin in her shoulder, rubbing gently.
“My Qingqing has grown up; she knows how to take care of people now!”
Ye Qingqing struggled slightly in her arms, humming and grumbling.
“You human, you have no sense of observation. Can’t you see This King is busy!”
Su Su was 172cm tall, half a head taller than Ye Qingqing. Held like this, the petite girl had no strength to resist.
Following the milky scent on the girl’s skin, Su Su kissed her neck before gradually letting go, offering unreserved praise for the potato-braised beef on the plate.
“Our King of Poop is so smart. This beef brisket is even better than what a professional chef could make!”
Hearing the praise, the corners of Ye Qingqing’s mouth curled up where the other couldn’t see, and her short tail almost failed to stay tucked in.
However, she still let out a haughty huff.
“You short-sighted human, making such a fuss over nothing. It’s just mere beef how could it possibly defeat This King?”
Only then did Su Su notice a small patch of red on the girl’s slender, white wrist.
When the oil had splattered from the hot pan earlier, she hadn’t managed to dodge in time and got burned. Su Su took the items out of her hands and carefully inspected the delicate wrist.
“Does it hurt?”
Ye Qingqing gave it a flick but couldn’t pull away, so she let Su Su hold it.
Su Su lowered her head and blew gently on the red spot.
Feeling the cool breeze, Ye Qingqing felt very comfortable, and an involuntary purr vibrated in her throat.
In the next second, a similarly soft kiss covered her wound.
Ye Qingqing’s body shivered. She abruptly jerked her “paw” out of Su Su’s hand and looked at her warily.
“Haven’t I told you many times?! You human, why are you always rubbing against my fur?!”
Su Su carried the plated beef out and used her free hand to wipe the dust off the table with a tissue.
Ye Qingqing took a spoon and lunged directly onto the bed, naturally leaning her body against the headboard pillows.
Busy setting the table, Su Su didn’t notice the girl had hopped onto the bed.
Ye Qingqing grew a bit impatient and shouted toward her back.
“Poop-scooper!”
Su Su turned around to see her leaning there with an air of authority, like a grand lord.
Ye Qingqing lifted the spoon in her hand and squinted at her. The meaning was crystal clear: Come over and feed This King!
And so, Su Su carried the plate of beef over.
Ye Qingqing tossed her spoon back in and stared straight at the meat.
The poop-scooper was also very sensible; she scooped a spoonful and held it out.
The girl opened her mouth wide and swallowed the whole spoon in one go, biting down and refusing to let go.
Fearing she might choke, Su Su hurriedly coaxed her in a gentle tone.
“Eat slowly, I’m not going to steal it from you!”
It was a very familiar, doting tone. These were words Ye Qingqing had heard before in her memories.
She loosened her teeth, and the spoon was pulled out.
Su Su used her thumb to wipe away the food debris from the corner of the girl’s lips.
Ye Qingqing reached out, grabbed the spoon, scooped up half a spoonful of beef cubes, and held it to Su Su’s lips.
The hand that was helping her wipe stopped. Su Su looked at the little cat in front of her with utter surprise.
Seeing that the human was dazed and wouldn’t open her mouth, Ye Qingqing forced the food toward her lips.
Su Su was a bit bewildered by her behavior and instinctively opened her mouth. She was met with a mouthful of “cat saliva.” Internally, she was speechless, but she couldn’t bear to slight the kitten’s feelings. With the food and saliva in her mouth, she couldn’t swallow nor spit it out; her expression reached a peak of awkwardness.
At that exact moment, the phone on the table began to buzz.
Both of them stopped their movements. Su Su swallowed hard, gulping down the food.
The phone continued to vibrate incessantly. She handed the tray to Ye Qingqing and walked toward the table.
The moment the call connected, her expression turned imperceptibly cold, though a shallow smile remained on her lips and her voice sounded sweet and obedient.
“Hello, Mom?”
