The Little Beauty Was Forced to Bind to the Villainess System - Chapter 1
Splash.
The continuous sound of running water cut off the chatter of students outside the restroom.
Huai Yin cupped some water in her hands, splashed her face, and finally felt her mind clear up a little.
She looked up into the mirror. The girl staring back wore a white-and-gold academy uniform. Soft, lustrous, honey-brown curls cascaded down to her waist like waves. The uniform’s cinched waist accentuated her slender, delicate frame.
Her skin was porcelain-white—impeccable even from up close. She had large, clear almond eyes, a small mouth, and a slightly upturned nose. She looked just like a delicate porcelain doll.
Being quite petite, Huai Yin stood on tiptoe to reach into the cabinet for a clean towel. She carefully wiped away the water droplets on her face, then reached up to fix her slightly damp bangs, which were clinging to her forehead.
Taking a deep breath, she deliberately lowered her voice. “System, my performance just now wasn’t too bad, right?”
The System answered in a cold, strictly robotic tone. “Host, to be completely honest, your acting was overly dramatic and unnatural.”
Huai Yin lowered her head in dismay and patted her own cheeks. “I tried my best! I’m just really not suited for playing a vicious female villain.”
In real life, she had always been a good kid in the eyes of her parents and teachers. Shy and introverted, she blushed at the mere thought of talking to strangers. She was a law-abiding, dutiful student—how could she possibly know how to play a mean girl?
“Don’t worry, practice makes perfect,” the System consoled evenly. “Host, you just need to follow my instructions.”
If it hadn’t mentioned that, Huai Yin wouldn’t have been so annoyed.
“But you’re completely useless when it counts!” She grumbled.
Earlier, following the System’s instructions, Huai Yin had attempted to secretly throw away the female lead’s dance shoes before dance class—only to be caught red-handed by the male lead.
Naturally, the male lead flew into a rage upon witnessing it. Had he not refrained because she was a girl, and had other students not restrained him, Huai Yin likely would have been beaten black and blue.
Yet while the male lead was making things difficult for her, the System stayed dead silent without offering a single word of help. In the end, Huai Yin had to rely on her own wits to escape the male lead’s wrath.
The System was equally helpless and explained patiently, “Host, you are bound to a Villainess System. Your task is to fill the role of the missing villainess in this novel world. My duty is only to guide you through the plot—meaning to sabotage the leads and propel their romance forward. How you get yourself out of trouble afterwards is outside my job scope.”
So cold! So heartless! What a cruel system, Huai Yin complained secretly in her mind.
“Host, I can hear you.”
Exposed on the spot, Huai Yin’s face flushed bright red. “A-Ah, is that so.”
She promised herself never to talk behind its back again.
Sighing helplessly, Huai Yin threw the disposable towel into the trash can. She perked herself up, preparing to head back to class.
In her original life, Huai Yin was just a first-year college student. To earn tuition for the upcoming semester and ease her family’s financial burden, she hadn’t gone home for summer break, choosing instead to work part-time jobs near campus.
Unfortunately, someone in the adjacent dorm illegally used an appliance and sparked a fire. Huai Yin lived on the eighth floor. The smoke was so dense that she couldn’t see anything; she failed to escape in time and perished in the flames.
She thought her life was over. But then, the System appeared out of nowhere, offering her a second chance at life—promising to send her back to an hour before the fire so she could prevent the tragedy.
The offer, however, came with a condition. Because a villain character was missing, the world’s plot couldn’t progress, requiring Huai Yin to transmigrate into novel worlds to play the part of the vicious villainess.
There was no such thing as a free lunch; Huai Yin understood that well.
Thinking about how young she was, and knowing she was her parents’ only daughter, Huai Yin had accepted the deal without hesitation.
It’s just roleplay, not real life anyway. I’ll just treat it like an acting gig, she reassured herself.
The world she had transmigrated into was called The White Moonlight of the Elite Academy. The plot was almost identical to the teen romance dramas she had watched on TV during middle school.
The female lead was a scholarship student from a poor background, possessing a tough and resilient personality. After entering the academy, she accidentally offended the male lead—the school bully. The two frequently clashed, with the male lead constantly teasing and pranking her, only to fall hopelessly in love with her in the process.
Likewise, the female lead gradually discovered his hidden merits, bringing the two closer together.
Of course, the author wouldn’t make their love story that easy; there had to be obstacles.
And that was where the vicious female villain came in.
In this world, Huai Yin’s identity was the male lead’s fiancée. Their families were equal in status and wealth. Because the male lead had saved her life when they were children, the character had harbored a crush on him ever since, swearing to marry him when she grew up.
Upon learning that the male and female leads were getting close, the villainess transferred to this school, intent on ruining their relationship and winning the male lead back.
Where there was a villainess, there was naturally a devoted second male lead.
The second male lead and the female lead were childhood sweethearts who grew up together with a deep bond. Whenever the female lead was bullied, he would stay by her side to protect her. Jealous and petty as he was, the male lead targeted the second male lead at every turn for this very reason.
On top of that, the villainess and the second male lead shared another layer of connection.
The second male lead’s mother and the villainess’s father had been first loves. However, due to the vast difference in their social status, they couldn’t end up together, eventually marrying other people after breaking up. A year ago, the second male lead’s parents died in a tragic car accident, leaving him all alone.
When the villainess’s father saw the news by chance, he took the initiative to take the boy in, promising to fund his education until graduation.
Thus, the villainess and the second male lead currently lived under the same roof.
Because the villainess despised him, she frequently caused trouble for him in private, warning him never to reveal their living arrangement. Combined with her hostility toward the female lead, the second male lead naturally loathed her in return.
Recapping the complex web of relationships between the four of them, Huai Yin felt as though her head was about to explode.
Especially now that she had managed to offend both the male lead and the second male lead—what if they sought revenge on her later?
The male lead went without saying: hailing from a prestigious family, his parents were prominent figures in City A. Though the second male lead’s background wasn’t as grand, he was remarkably talented. According to the original plot, he would build a successful company from scratch, gaining fame and rising as a new industry tycoon.
Meanwhile, the villainess’s father would go bankrupt a few years down the line due to a failed investment, causing her to fall from grace completely.
Revenge was practically guaranteed—after all, she was currently playing the villainess.
“Forget it, I’ll just leave it to fate,” Huai Yin muttered to herself.
As she stepped out of the restroom, her two sidekicks immediately walked over to greet her.
It truly was a novel world—even the side characters were exceptionally striking.
Li Qing and Xu Zhouzhou were two tall, stunning beauties with sharp, glamorous features. Standing in the middle of the hallway, they naturally drew everyone’s attention. As they walked, their skirts swayed gracefully, looking as if they were walking a fashion runway.
“What took you so long? Class is about to start!”
Saying that, Li Qing suddenly bent down to peer closely at Huai Yin. Facing such a visually striking face at close range, Huai Yin couldn’t help but feel her cheeks warm up.
“Your eyes are so red. You weren’t crying, were you?”
Huai Yin awkwardly looked away. “Of course not. I’ve just been wearing my contact lenses for too long.”
“I don’t buy it.” Li Qing straightened up, crossing her arms indignantly. “No matter what, you’re Xu Shiyan’s fiancée! How could he treat you so horribly over that scholarship girl?”
Xu Shiyan was the school bully and the male lead.
Xu Zhouzhou nodded in agreement. “I have no idea what kind of spell Su Yi put on him.”
“Just now, I even saw her walking with Shen Xiaozhou. What a flirtatious woman.”
Li Qing pinched her nose with a look of disgust. “Shen Xiaozhou? That other scholarship student?” She let out a contemptuous laugh. “Well, those two do make quite a matching pair.”
Huai Yin walked silently between the two of them. She was half a head shorter than Li Qing and Xu Zhouzhou. Her skirt barely reached her knees, exposing her slender, straight legs, and her black high heels tapped crisply against the floor with every step.
“She already has Shen Xiaozhou, yet she’s still stringing Xu Shiyan along. Then again, the Xu family is immensely wealthy—only a fool would choose a poor guy like Shen Xiaozhou. I’d say she knows exactly what she’s doing.”
“Her?” Li Qing sneered. “As if someone like her could ever dream of climbing the social ladder and marrying into a wealthy family! Xu Shiyan will never marry her.”
“Huai Yin?”
Noticing that Huai Yin seemed completely lost in thought, Xu Zhouzhou glanced over at her. “What’s wrong?”
The young girl kept her eyes cast down, her long eyelashes impossibly thick and dark. Huai Yin stood with her hands neatly clasped in front of her, holding a delicate small handbag. She looked so utterly obedient and sweet that anyone would be tempted to pull her into their arms and squeeze her.
Hearing someone call her name, the daydreaming Huai Yin looked up in confusion, her beautiful almond eyes blinking innocently. “Were you calling me?”
Li Qing and Xu Zhouzhou were nearly dazed by the sight, both internally scolding Xu Shiyan in unison:
How could he not be satisfied when he has a fiancée as adorable as Huai Yin? To actually fall for that scholarship student instead. Is something wrong with his eyes?
Li Qing stopped in her tracks, took Huai Yin’s hand, and promised her with complete gravity, “Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, I won’t let Xu Shiyan betray you.”
Huai Yin tilted her head slightly, her soft curls tumbling over her shoulders as she replied in total bewilderment, “T-Thank you.”
“Me too!” Xu Zhouzhou chimed in, refusing to be outdone. “If anyone dares to bully you, I definitely won’t let them off easy!”
They really are such nice people, Huai Yin thought, deeply touched.
Just then, the bell for class rang. Almost out of pure reflex—without giving it a second thought—Huai Yin immediately bolted toward the classroom.
Li Qing and Xu Zhouzhou froze for a second before quickly chasing after her.
This period was color theory class. Fortunately, the teacher hadn’t arrived yet.
Huai Yin patted her chest, letting out a sigh of relief.
Wait, hold on.
I’m playing a vicious villainess right now—why am I scared of being late to class? Isn’t that a bit out of character?
However, the System didn’t say anything. It seemed these tiny details didn’t affect the plot progression, so the System was simply turning a blind eye.
Just as Huai Yin stepped through the door into the classroom, a crisp ding echoed in her head—a very familiar electronic chime.
The System’s cold voice rang out:
[Host has triggered a new plot point.]
[You need to splash paint all over the female lead during color class.]
