The Innocent 'Green Tea' Alpha at Home is Actually My Boss - Chapter 35
“Who do you like? You didn’t just make that up because you don’t want to date me, did you?” That Omega was quite bold, not caring at all about the judgmental eyes of others.
Lu Lin wasn’t annoyed by the questioning. “I can’t say who it is, but they are a very cute person.”
Standing not far away with his back to them, Sang Weilian wanted to leave, but his feet felt as if they were held by an invisible force; he couldn’t take a single step.
A very cute person?
Which Omega that I don’t know is it?
This kid he has someone he likes and yet he’s still trading his pheromones and body for resources?
You really can’t judge a book by its cover!
Ahhh, that Omega he likes is so pitiful.
Then, on second thought, Sang Weilian let out a cold snort.
What’s there to be pity? If the two of them are mutually in love, wouldn’t I become the one intruding?
But… looking on the bright side, the thing about Lu Lin liking someone might just be made up. After all, he’s an actor; he can fake gentleness whenever he wants. Without evidence, it’s hard to draw a conclusion.
“Teacher Sang? Are you changing your makeup?” The makeup artist’s voice interrupted Sang Weilian’s wild thoughts.
He snapped back to reality. “Oh, yes, I am. Let’s go.”
As for who Lu Lin liked, he would have plenty of time to investigate later.
Lu Lin looked in the direction where Sang Weilian had left. No matter how much that Omega asked, he refused to reveal another word.
In the afternoon, Sang Weilian was scheduled to film a scene with Yu Guangxi.
In the script, Luo Yu is blind in the early stages, which places high demands on the actor. He Ming decided to film the scenes after Luo Yu regains his sight first. Today’s schedule featured a plot where Luo Yu, wearing a veil, is treating a patient in the back hall of a medical clinic when Luo Tu suddenly appears, nearly discovering that his sight has been restored.
When Sang Weilian finished changing and came out wearing the veiled headgear, he noticed Lu Lin was gone.
He frowned slightly and called over Zhang Chuntao. “Where did Lu Lin go?”
Zhang Chuntao quickly replied, “Director Lu from the investment side arrived just now. Teacher Lu was called out by her; they went that way.”
Lu Chunbai?
What could two Alphas have to talk about?
Without a moment’s hesitation, Sang Weilian walked in the direction Zhang Chuntao had pointed.
“I certainly didn’t expect to run into you here. How did you end up chasing someone all the way into a film crew?” Lu Chunbai stood with one hand on her hip. Although her face remained expressionless, her tone was a bit warmer than usual.
Lu Lin replied, “If you aren’t diligent about chasing someone, how are you going to catch them?”
Lu Chunbai sneered. “I heard from your father that you joined the industry to act just to chase Sang Weilian. What? Giving up a billion-dollar family inheritance to pave a new career path?”
“It was all an accident; I can only go with the flow for now.” Lu Lin smiled. “But I didn’t expect you to be here either, Aunt. I knew the Group invested in this drama, but for you to appear in person…”
“Same as you,” Lu Chunbai sighed. “Coming to see the future nephew-in-law. I have to say, he’s far too good-looking. And those eyes of his is he mixed? They look just like the blue diamond I won at the auction in the U.S. last time.”
“Yes,” Lu Lin nodded.
“The future nephew-in-law is quite impressive in terms of both appearance and career achievements. I just don’t know about his background.”
“It’s not important.” Lu Lin didn’t care about those external conditions. “What matters most is that he can like me.”
Lu Chunbai teased him, “You haven’t even tested your pheromone compatibility, yet you talk so big.”
“Neither he nor I like being controlled by pheromones. If I stop loving him just because our compatibility is low, then my love would be far too cheap.”
Lu Chunbai looked at him with some surprise. After a long moment, she patted his shoulder. “As expected of my good nephew.”
“Lu Lin?”
A familiar voice called out, and Lu Lin’s body suddenly stiffened. He turned around to see Sang Weilian frowning at Lu Chunbai’s hand resting on his shoulder.
Sang Weilian had followed them all the way and saw the two of them talking face-to-face behind the crew’s equipment truck. He didn’t know what they were saying, but they seemed to be having a pleasant conversation, and in the end, they even got physical.
Well, using “getting physical” might be a bit extreme, but she had indeed laid a hand on him.
“Brother, why are you here?” Lu Lin hurried to Sang Weilian’s side. “Finished your makeup?”
“Yes.” Sang Weilian pulled up the section of the veil that had slipped down slightly, looking past him to greet Lu Chunbai. “Director Lu, hello. You and Lu Lin… know each other?”
Just as Lu Chunbai was hesitating on what to say, Lu Lin blurted out, “Of course we do!”
Sang Weilian looked at him suspiciously. “Is that so?”
“I’ve been to the set several times before, and hasn’t Director Lu seen me? Since Director Lu is the investor for the crew, we became familiar with each other over time,” Lu Lin explained, his heart racing so fast it felt like it might leap out of his chest.
“Familiar enough to be called out for a private chat?” Sang Weilian smiled. “If you don’t mind, may I listen? After all, Lu Lin is my younger brother.”
Sang Weilian instinctively felt that things weren’t that simple. He had a blanket negative impression of all investors. If Lu Chunbai knew Lu Lin wanted resources, she might inevitably make strange demands.
Lu Chunbai was slightly stunned. Your younger brother? He’s my eldest nephew!
Seeing that Lu Chunbai hadn’t spoken, Sang Weilian knew something was definitely fishy. He locked his gaze onto Lu Lin. “If it’s inconvenient, then consider it my intrusion.”
Having said that, he turned to leave.
Lu Lin grabbed him. Fearing a greater misunderstanding, he decided to spin a lie first. “It’s not that… Director Lu, can I say it?”
Lu Chunbai was utterly confused. Is he going to confess? Fine, let him confess; she had nothing to hide. “Go ahead. He’ll find out sooner or later anyway.”
“It’s about a movie. It’s about an Omega who pretends to be an Alpha and ends up developing feelings for an Alpha. Director Lu is interested in having you play this Omega, but because there were rumors online about you being resistant to Alphas, she wanted to ask me if you’d mind. If you did, she wouldn’t mention it to you.”
Lu Chunbai: ?
What movie? Why didn’t she know about this?
Lu Lin really can talk nonsense!
Sang Weilian looked at Lu Chunbai. “Director Lu, you could have asked me directly.”
Lu Chunbai, being someone who had experienced many grand occasions, quickly adjusted her mindset and played along with Lu Lin. “I was just being extra considerate. Now that Teacher Sang knows, what are your thoughts?”
Lu Lin’s explanation was seamless, and Lu Chunbai’s tone was exceptionally calm, so Sang Weilian temporarily suppressed his doubts.
“I do have requirements. I want to know which actor is cast as the Alpha. Additionally, since it involves a romance, I need to see the script. It’s industry knowledge that I don’t accept nude or intimate scenes.”
“The Alpha actor hasn’t been decided yet. If Teacher Sang has someone to recommend, feel free to say.”
Sang Weilian pursed his lips. After a moment, he asked, “And the script?”
“The script hasn’t… reached its final draft yet.” Even though Lu Chunbai spoke with a face like ice, she felt extremely guilty inside.
Forget the fact that one of the leads wasn’t cast; they didn’t even have a script. She felt like they were about to be exposed.
Sure enough, Sang Weilian fell silent.
After a long while, he put on a distant smile. “Alright. When there is a script, if Director Lu still wants me as the lead, you can contact me or my manager directly. I will consider it.”
“Mm, let’s leave it at that for now. I have things to attend to, so I’ll be going.” Lu Chunbai breathed a sigh of relief. While calling her secretary, she hurriedly made her way to the parking lot.
Until Lu Chunbai’s figure disappeared from sight, Lu Lin held Sang Weilian’s hand. “Brother, let’s go back.”
“Do you think…” Sang Weilian didn’t move his feet. “Is Lu Chunbai cute?”
“…Huh?” Lu Lin was dazed by the question.
Sang Weilian realized too late that his question was very strange. He coughed lightly, but before he could interrupt, he heard Lu Lin launch into a full-blown complaint.
“Isn’t Director Lu an Alpha? She’s so cold and icy how can she even be associated with the word ‘cute’?” When Lu Lin said this, his face was a picture of exaggerated doubt and incomprehension.
Sang Weilian firmly believed it: Lu Lin did not think Lu Chunbai was cute.
However, in the next second, his hand was gripped by Lu Lin. The other man approached, his dark, hawk-like eyes full of seriousness. “Brother, you couldn’t possibly like an Alpha of Director Lu’s type, could you? You think she’s cute? What’s so cute about an Alpha!”
Sang Weilian frowned, thinking the idea was actually quite terrifying. “Where are you taking this? I asked the wrong question. Just pretend I didn’t ask.”
“But you never ask such questions for no reason. I’ve never even been praised as ‘cute’ by you.” Lu Lin couldn’t help but feel aggrieved.
“You’re also an Alpha. You just said, ‘What’s so cute about an Alpha?'” Sang Weilian threw his own words back at him with a straight face.
Lu Lin paused, then stubbornly argued, “That’s different. Can an Alpha like me be the same as other Alphas?”
“How is it different?” Sang Weilian laughed. He wanted to hear what kind of nonsense this man could come up with.
Lu Lin looked around. Seeing no one, he took Sang Weilian’s hand and led him to a blind spot hidden by two equipment trucks before stopping.
Sang Weilian asked, “What are you—”
Before he could finish, his lips were kissed. The scent of mountain spring pheromones slowly wafted over, gently seeping into his every pore, while the gland on the back of his neck emitted a sweet fragrance of wild roses.
Lu Lin held his waist, pulling him tightly into his arms. His thumb rubbed over the slightly warm gland, and after feeling Sang Weilian shudder, he deepened the kiss.
After an unknown amount of time, the two heard staff members talking nearby. The large door of the equipment truck was closed, revealing the figures of the two in the shadows.
“Hey, who’s that? Why are they standing there?” A staff member said, walking straight toward them.
The heat on Sang Weilian’s face hadn’t subsided yet; his cheeks were flushed. Lu Lin blocked him from view and said politely, “I’m discussing things with a teacher from the crew here. We’ll be leaving in a moment.”
Thanks to Lu Lin being well-acquainted with the people here, the man recognized him and didn’t ask further questions. “Alright, alright. Carry on. We have to drive this truck on the left away.”
“Okay,” Lu Lin responded.
The man quickly walked out of the shadows, sat in the driver’s seat, and started the engine.
Sang Weilian’s face was no longer red. He gave Lu Lin’s lower back a sharp pinch. “Don’t ever do that again without my permission!”
“Brother,” Lu Lin quickly pleaded for mercy. “I know. I just wanted to demonstrate the difference between me and other Alphas. You are someone those other Alphas can never have, but I’m different—I’m in a relationship where I can kiss Teacher Sang.”
