- Chapter 19 - The Slap: Brother, Let Me Mark You!
“Senior, what exactly happened between you two in the cold storage?”
In a reception room as warm as spring, Shen An looked worriedly at Chen Wang, who sat wrapped tightly in a blanket and remained silent. Back at the Federal Medical University, Chen Wang was the most outstanding student representative. He was present at every activity, and his grades were always at the top. In Shen An’s heart, Chen Wang was an eternally calm, decent, and shining presence. Even if Chen Wang was struggling now, Shen An firmly believed it was only temporary; he would always look up to his senior.
Shen An asked unpleasantly, “I have long heard of the second young master’s temper at the Hua Group. Since you were locked in that cold storage together, he must have taken his anger out on you, right?”
Chen Wang remained expressionless. That terrifying, soul-shaking scene replayed before his eyes, rendering him unable to hear a word.
Shen An soon returned with a cup of warm, fragrant hot cocoa and raised the room’s temperature by several degrees. He used his dry, warm hands to firmly clasp Chen Wang’s hands, slowly chasing away the chill. He comforted him softly, “Do not worry. You have been rescued. No matter where you are, I will come to save you, Senior.”
Chen Wang snapped out of his daze. Meeting Shen An’s gentle and firm gaze, he slowly relaxed. There were still good people in this world. He nodded.
“So,” Shen An looked at him with concern, a trace of undetectable jealousy in his tone, “did that guy Hua Yunlian really not do anything to you?” If not, why was his senior so frightened?
Chen Wang opened his mouth, but his gaze soon darkened. He shook his head and chose not to reveal Hua Yunlian’s secret. Perhaps he had seen it wrong?
“President Hua, this way, please.”
A few days later, the head of the Federal General Hospital warmly received Hua Yunlian, praising the Hua Group’s investment in the hospital. After resting at his villa for a few days, Hua Yunlian’s feral period had passed, but his rut had not yet ended. The restless scent of Damascus Rose drifted through the air occasionally. Most of the staff nearby were Betas and remained unaffected, while the Alphas and Omegas wore neutralizer patches on their necks, careful not to provoke him.
In the broad, bright corridor, a crowd swarmed around the man in the sharp black suit, trying their best to flatter him. Hua Yunlian looked indifferent, only nodding occasionally for work reasons. However, as he passed a breakroom, he paused. The trembling voice of a man on the phone came from inside, revealing how nervous and important the call was.
“Senior, it is me, Shen An.”
A circle of colleagues surrounded Shen An, mouthing words of encouragement in a lively, whispering crowd. Shen An’s face was flushed red like a high schooler in love. He scratched his head. “How are you resting? You have not messaged me in days, and I was worried. Senior, it is good that you are okay!”
He was so nervous he started to stutter. “Right! I, I got two meal vouchers for the Sky Garden Restaurant at the Lihao. Could you, could you go with me? I am afraid to go by myself.”
He trailed off with a pleading, spoiled tone. His colleagues covered their mouths and snickered, making funny faces at the blushing Shen An. They teased him silently, mimicking his words. This guy was an extreme extrovert who would not hesitate to dance in the streets, yet he claimed he was afraid to go to dinner? To catch the man of his dreams, he would tell any lie.
Hua Yunlian stood still and raised a hand, signaling his followers to remain silent. The stacked metal rings on his long fingers reflected a cold light, matching his increasingly frigid expression. He remembered this kid. This was the little “white face” who had pulled Chen Wang out of the cold storage that day.
Shen An clutched his white coat and held his breath, nearly fainting until he heard the answer. He jumped from his chair in excitement, punching the air. He lowered his voice again. “Great, Senior Chen Wang. Um, Brother Chen Wang, can I call you that? It is a deal then. My treat, you must come!”
After the call ended, his colleagues immediately teased him. “Good luck with the confession, kid! Try to bring the beauty home in one go!”
The sunlit breakroom was filled with joy. The light created a sharp boundary at the threshold, casting the corridor into a deep shadow. The Slavic mixed man stood there, his broad back blocking everyone’s view. They stared at him in trepidation, and no one dared to speak. The silence was deathly.
After seeing Hua Yunlian turn into a monster in the cold storage, Chen Wang was initially afraid to return to the penthouse. He used the excuse of working the night shift at the hospital and messaged Hua Yunlian. However, the man never replied, and Chen Wang did not know if he had even seen it.
He could not cover for his colleagues forever. For the next few days, Chen Wang dutifully went back to spend the night. Even so, he suffered from continuous nightmares. Like a poor sacrificial lamb in a castle waiting for a beast, he never felt safe. Chen Wang doubted himself countless times. Was he so cold that he had hallucinated? Had Hua Yunlian not changed at all? Anyone who experienced such a scene would be in a fragile mental state.
Chen Wang walked into the restaurant with unsteady steps, planning to talk more with Shen An. This junior was full of enthusiasm, and every encounter with him provided a burst of vitality. He had never been to this hotel before. The Sky Garden Restaurant was on the thirty-second floor, a three story atrium design famous for luxury and romance. Chen Wang had seen wealthy socialites post photos here and had always wanted to visit, but it was too expensive for him. He did not know where Shen An had obtained the vouchers.
The waiter seemed to have expected him. He met Chen Wang at the door and politely led him to a seat by the glass railing on the third floor, leaving quickly before Chen Wang could speak. Chen Wang awkwardly withdrew his hand. Shen An had not arrived yet, so he looked around to admire the stylish decor. Strangely, the photos he had seen previously featured light colored flowers, but now the place was filled with flamboyant roses. The intense red bloomed everywhere like the eyes of a vampire.
The intoxicating floral scent enveloped Chen Wang from all sides, trying to invade his every sense. He began to think of his unpleasant experiences, and the color drained from his thin face. Suddenly, a pair of hands covered his eyes from behind. Chen Wang jumped, already encircled in a hug.
“Thinking of me?”
That deep voice, full of playfulness and contempt, who else could it be but Hua Yunlian? Chen Wang now felt an instinctive fear of him. His heart rate accelerated, and his breathing became irregular. “Why, why are you here?”
“I cannot be here?” Hua Yunlian kept one hand over his eyes while the other touched his face, sliding down to his slender, fragile neck and lingering at the collarbone. Chen Wang instinctively grabbed the wandering hand, his Adam’s apple bobbing with nervousness. “I did not mean it like that.”
“Then what did you mean?” Hua Yunlian did not care for his strength. He gripped Chen Wang’s throat fiercely from behind, questioning him through gritted teeth. “Duplicitous and a habitual liar. Did you not say you were not afraid of me?”
Chen Wang’s heart sank. These words confirmed that Hua Yunlian truly did turn into a monster. How could someone be like that? A mocking laugh sounded in his ear. The young master’s voice was beautiful, but it only reminded Chen Wang of the low panting of a beast. “So scared you cannot even move. Brother, you are useless.”
Hua Yunlian must have just come from outside. His fingertips were cool, sliding into Chen Wang’s collar like a snake, wickedly using Chen Wang’s warm chest to warm his hands. Chen Wang jolted, and his instinctive scream was swallowed as he bit his lip. His long eyelashes brushed against Hua Yunlian’s palm, making it itch. The hand covering his eyes forced his head back even harder.
“Hua Yunlian, this is a restaurant!” He was forced to tilt his head back to stop him. Before he could finish, a burning kiss landed on the side of his neck. Chen Wang let out a sensitive groan. “Do, do not do this.”
“Do not do what?” Hua Yunlian shifted positions and pecked him several times, the sound of the kisses loud and clear. “This? Or this?” Like a beast toying with its prey, his amber eyes admired the other man’s shy and shameful reaction.
The hand inside his clothes withdrew for a second and then reached down quickly. Chen Wang used all his strength to press the hand down, his lips trembling with fear. “No, you cannot. This is a public place. No!”
Hua Yunlian ignored the plea, his voice becoming clingy and sweet, intentionally mimicking Shen An. “Brother, your complexion is poor. You must not have slept well lately.” He bit Chen Wang’s ear lightly, speaking in a voice only they could hear, his hostility rampant. “If you do not want to be eaten, be good.”
Chen Wang trembled and very slowly moved his hand away. Hua Yunlian pressed his cheek against him in approval. “So obedient.”
The large hand reached in, fumbled around, and gripped him. Chen Wang nearly screamed, a shameful flush rising to his eyelids. Hua Yunlian suddenly returned to a normal volume and commanded, “Wait for me in my bed tonight. Do you understand?”
Chen Wang only hoped he would stop teasing him. He bit his lip in humiliation and nodded quickly. “I understand.”
The hand covering Chen Wang’s eyes finally moved away. In his line of sight stood Shen An, holding a bouquet of sunflowers, his eyes red and wet as he looked at Chen Wang. “Senior?”
His expression was shocked and hurt. With a loud crash, something inside Chen Wang collapsed. The image and dignity he had carefully maintained were now like a joke in a cheap magazine. It was utterly absurd. Shen An had seen the entire scene upon reaching the floor. Heartbroken, he lowered his hands, letting the wilted bouquet drop to the ground. He bowed his head to hide his tears. “I am sorry. I interrupted you.”
With his clothes in disarray, Chen Wang stood up abruptly but lacked the courage to give chase. He stumbled and leaned against the table, his knuckles turning white from the force. His figure looked lonely and desolate. Suddenly, he called out, “Hua Yunlian.”
“Hmm?” The young master’s greedy gaze was still lingering on his waist.
A sneer suddenly appeared on Chen Wang’s hollow face. He looked at Hua Yunlian in despair, his eyes turning red. “You are indeed a monster.”
Like a frozen frame in a movie, the entire world went silent for a moment. Chen Wang’s vision spun like a lightning strike. He felt an unprecedented pain and suffocating sensation on his neck. He saw the crystal chandelier of the Sky Garden. He was more precarious than a lamp; if Hua Yunlian let go, he would fall from the building to his paralysis or death.
Chen Wang’s eyes were wide as he gasped in terror. He did not want to die. Hua Yunlian’s outburst was faster than anyone could imagine. He choked Chen Wang, pinning him against the glass railing. His gemstone like eyes were now bloodshot. His facial muscles were tight, and he ground his teeth. The veins on his forehead pulsed as if a beast were about to break out of its cage. “I am a monster. So what?”
“You are just a toy for a monster. A tool to satisfy desire. A piece of trash that Hua Hongfei and Hua Jingchen have already played with. What is wrong with me touching you? You would rather be with a junior you barely know than spend time with me? Does it matter who plays with you?”
“Speak!” His fingers tightened, his gaze dark and mad. “What are you?”
Chen Wang closed his eyes. His survival instinct made him struggle through the despair as tears flowed. “I am a toy.”
His throat felt another wave of suffocation. He whimpered and forced out the words with difficulty. “I am Hua, Hua Yunlian’s toy!”
The man exerted force and suddenly pulled him back, throwing him onto the floor. Chen Wang clutched his neck and coughed for a long time. He was so weak he could barely stand. There were fierce fingerprints on his fair skin. Hua Yunlian’s chest heaved as he grabbed Chen Wang’s arm with red eyes.
Chen Wang rose with the momentum and delivered a sharp slap to his face. It was a hard hit. Hua Yunlian’s left ear rang with a sharp sound like an old television short-circuiting. In a daze, he saw hatred and despair in Chen Wang’s eyes. It was as if his actions were merely low class nonsense, not even worth a slap.
The light in Hua Yunlian’s eyes flickered, and a raspy laugh escaped his throat.
Everything that followed spiraled completely out of control. Expensive plates and vases shattered across the floor. He pinned Chen Wang onto the dining table. In the expensive restaurant that Chen Wang had looked forward to for so long, Hua Yunlian pierced through him fiercely. Chen Wang bit his lip until it bled but did not make a sound, clutching the tablecloth until it was a wrinkled mess.
The scent of Damascus Rose rampaged through the air. Hua Yunlian picked up a bottle of cool, mellow red wine and poured it messily over the difficult areas to serve as a lubricant.
Once, a thin teenage boy in a school uniform said to a young Hua Yunlian who could not even speak human language, “If you do not mind, you can call me Brother.” Now, amidst low and suggestive panting, Hua Yunlian’s possessiveness was terrifying as he entered him completely.
“Brother.”
He did not care that Chen Wang was about to faint. He picked him up, and his sharp canine teeth bit into the other man’s non existent gland.
“Let me mark you.”
