Jiang Yilan led Yuan ruo to a secluded spot outside the wall of the Jiang family compound. She then leaped over it first.

“You…” Yuan ruo subconsciously called out to Jiang Yilan but swallowed her words and quickly followed her in.

Once inside the inner compound, Jiang Yilan headed directly in one direction.

“Yilan!” Yuan ruo dared not raise her voice, “Where are you going?”

Fortunately, Jiang Yilan heard her. She turned back and waited for Yuan ruo to catch up. “My father’s courtyard is over there!”

Yuan ruo was surprised, “You’re going to see your father directly?”

“Yes!” Jiang Yilan nodded, “I’ve thought about it. Instead of us investigating, it’s better to just ask my father!”

“But…” Yuan ruo was worried, “What if…”

“Hmph!” Jiang Yuan snorted, scanning his surroundings with the look of a predator searching for prey. “I wasn’t looking for them, but they’ve walked right into my trap!”

“Then, Young Master!” the subordinate asked, “Should I inform Clan Elder Ting?”

“No need!” Jiang Yuan waved his hand, “You go and get me more people. Even if you have to turn this place upside down, you must find them both!”

“This…” The subordinate was in a difficult position.

“No!” The subordinate said, “It’s Clan Elder Ting. He used most of the men to guard Jiang Zhen and his son, as well as the other clan elders!”

“Is he going to get people?” After Jiang Yuan left, Yuan ruo, from the corner, asked Jiang Yilan next to her, “To capture us?”

Yuan ruo asked, “What about us? Are we just going to wait for him here?”

Jiang Yilan fell into deep thought and was silent for a moment.

Yuan ruo put a hand on Jiang Yilan’s shoulder. “Thinking about your father and brother’s situation?”

“The Jiang family has really changed!” Jiang Yilan closed her eyes. “I only thought something was wrong with the Jiang family, but I didn’t expect this grandfather and grandson duo to be so vicious!”

Yuan ruo said, “According to what Jiang Yuan just said, your father, brother, and the other clan elders are probably in a bad situation right now!”

Jiang Yilan suddenly looked at Yuan ruo, then emerged from their hiding spot first. “Jiang Yuan just said he was going to get people from the guard post!”

Yuan ruo also reacted, “Let’s follow and see!”

After that delay, fortunately, Jiang Yilan was familiar with the area and was still able to catch up with Jiang Yuan. She saw him leading his men past a few courtyards and finally stopping at a corner room.

“Young Master!” There were many guards at the entrance of the corner room. They bowed when they saw Jiang Yuan.

“You, leave a few behind, and the rest follow me!” Jiang Yuan gave the order directly without any hesitation.

The attitude of those men was exactly the same as his subordinate—they refused to go. “Forgive us, Young Master. We are tasked with guarding this place and cannot leave at will.”

“You…” Jiang Yuan was furious. “I can’t even get you to do one thing for me. When I become the family head, I’ll deal with you!”

No matter what threats Jiang Yuan made, those men remained unmoved.

“Why won’t they move?” Jiang Yilan muttered softly.

Yuan ruo said, “It seems they have been given a strict order not to leave.”

Jiang Yilan frowned. “I wonder if my father and brother are really inside.”

“You want to go in and see?” Yuan ruo changed her grip on her sword. “I’ll help you!”

Jiang Yilan looked at Yuan ruo. “You’re going to lure them away?”

“Yes, you be careful!” After saying that, Yuan ruo leaped out. After landing, she pointed her sword at Jiang Yuan. “Young Master Jiang, you’re here. I’ve been looking for you!”

“Han Yan?” Remembering his last embarrassing encounter, Jiang Yuan gnashed his teeth. “You dare to come to the Jiang family?”

“How else can I find you if I don’t come to the Jiang family?” Han Yan gave a wicked smile and lunged with her sword.

“Take her down!” Jiang Yuan gave the order, and all the men attacked her at once.

Yuan ruo first swept everyone away with her sword, then pretended to be no match for them and retreated, before leaping away to escape.

“Chase her!” Jiang Yuan fell for the trick and led his men in pursuit, completely forgetting about the guards at the corner room.
