The Green Tea Omega Has Turned Bad - Chapter 25
The lights were dimmed in the hallway.
Shang Wandong’s room was right next door. Two servants stood at the entrance, their faces expressionless, looking like two tall, solemn door gods.
As Yan Xia approached them, she was quickly intercepted.
“Second Miss, you are an Omega; it is not convenient for you to enter.”
“I’ll only be in there for a little while.” Yan Xia stood her ground persistently, looking up at them and whispering, “Just a moment, and then I’ll come out.”
The servants looked at each other and shook their heads regardless.
Yan Xia did not back down, remaining motionless.
Seeing this, one of them showed a bitter smile. “Second Miss, please don’t make things difficult for us. Miss Shang is currently in her rut, and her emotions are unstable. Even we Betas are intimidated by her. If a delicate Omega like you goes in and something happens, what are we supposed to do?”
Yan Xia ground her teeth for a while, but seeing they had no intention of relenting, she had no choice but to return to her room.
She went out to her balcony again and estimated the distance to the balcony of Shang Wandong’s room. It didn’t seem that far.
“Host, you aren’t thinking of climbing over, are you?”
The System watched as Yan Xia busily moved a stool to act as a stepping stone and couldn’t help but ask.
“I am,” Yan Xia said, standing on the chair and leaning her body forward while gripping the railing. Beads of sweat broke out on her forehead. “Don’t stop me, my mind is made up.”
Although the second floor of the villa wasn’t particularly high and there was a thick layer of lawn downstairs… falling would still be terrifying.
Especially for a patient with acrophobia like her…
“…I wasn’t trying to stop you, I just wanted to remind you,” the System said, “that you still have one R-rank Teleportation Card.”
Yan Xia instantly shrank back, her heart fluttering with lingering fear. “Why the hell didn’t you say so earlier?”
She took out the Teleportation Card and clicked to use it. The surface of the card instantly burst into a dazzling white light.
The next second, Yan Xia was standing on Shang Wandong’s balcony.
Carefully stepping past several pots of lush succulents and lilies of the valley, Yan Xia looked inside through the French windows. The room was shrouded in darkness.
Had Shang Wandong already fallen asleep?
She placed her hand on the balcony door, feeling like a thief sneaking into a house.
When she gave the door a gentle push, it moved easily it wasn’t even locked.
Such good luck!
The interior was dark everywhere, but through the thin moonlight, she could faintly see a dark, hazy figure sitting on the bed.
When Yan Xia pushed the door open, she inevitably made a slight noise.
The figure on the bed was startled. A low voice asked, “…Who is it?”
Yan Xia: “It’s me.”
“…Did you come from the balcony?”
Yan Xia gave a hum of affirmation, feeling her way toward her in the dark. “There were people guarding the door; I couldn’t get in that way.”
As her vision gradually adjusted to the darkness, she saw Shang Wandong sitting on the bed, huddled under the quilt. Only her palm-sized face was visible, her complexion turned a nearly transparent snowy white by the soaking moonlight, and her beautiful eyes were exceptionally bright.
A potent scent of sea-breeze pheromones permeated the air around her, like a silent, towering barrier.
“Does Sister still feel unwell?”
Shang Wandong smelled a faint, lingering fragrance of lemon fruit wafting toward her. With her eyes half-closed, she said heavily, “It’s already much better.”
An Alpha in their rut consumes much more energy than usual, and their aggressiveness becomes stronger. Those emotions usually suppressed are vented and released during this period.
It was just like how she had uncontrollably attacked Yan Xia today, nearly doing something irreparable.
After taking the suppressants, Shang Wandong lay on the bed feeling weak all over. Her limbs were heavy and exhausted, but her consciousness was clear, making it impossible to sleep.
Closing her eyes to search for drowsiness, every second became agonizingly long.
Watching Yan Xia sit down by the bed, Shang Wandong thought: Fortunately, I held back.
She did not want to hurt the other person without Yan Xia’s permission.
Yan Xia asked cautiously, “Can I touch you now?”
Shang Wandong nodded.
A warm hand brushed against her forehead, the movement as gentle as a light breeze.
Yan Xia’s voice was full of worry. “Don’t go to the exam tomorrow, okay? How about just taking a leave of absence?”
A thread of fresh fruit scent emanated from her body, like an orchard in midsummer. The sunlight shone brightly through the lush lemon trees, casting a cool, refreshing shade on the ground.
It was a scent she liked one that felt very comfortable to breathe in.
Shang Wandong shook her head. She nudged forward inside the quilt, instinctively rubbing against Yan Xia’s palm and moving closer to her.
When she was only a fist’s distance away from Yan Xia, she stopped. She reached out and grabbed a corner of Yan Xia’s pajamas, a look of slight satisfaction appearing on her face.
It was as if this tiny bit was enough; she didn’t dare crave more.
Yan Xia’s heartstrings suddenly vibrated subtly. She found it funny, but also felt a bit of heartache.
This was the first time she had seen such a surprising side of Shang Wandong both clingy and somewhat pitiable. She had thought the “wooden person” was without desire or weakness, but it turned out she still had vulnerabilities.
Recalling how Shang Wandong had tried her best to suppress her instincts earlier, perhaps it was out of fear that she would be hurt.
Yan Xia thought for a moment, then leaned down and wrapped her arms around Shang Wandong, quilt and all.
Shang Wandong’s eyes suddenly widened.
“This way, you can rub off some of my good luck.”
Yan Xia curled her eyes into a smile, looking at Shang Wandong from a close distance. She could even see the fine downy hair on her face.
Shang Wandong had a very cold, aloof face that usually seemed to keep people a thousand miles away. Now, however, she was inexplicably well-behaved, like a bewildered puppy with a dazed expression and her pale red lips slightly parted.
…They looked quite soft.
Yan Xia didn’t know what she was thinking in that split second. Perhaps it was the ambiguous atmosphere at work, or perhaps it was because Shang Wandong was different from her usual self.
As if possessed, she lowered her head and kissed Shang Wandong on the lips.
The two of them stared at each other, both stunned.
