The Gloomy Overseas Student Rewards His Hubby With Some Thirst Traps - Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Yu Yanshuang, of course, didn’t know how to do it either!
But his small brain was working at high speed, re-evaluating the current situation. It was obvious that although Sane had somehow had a physical reaction to a man, judging by his movements earlier, he really couldn’t bring himself to go through with it.
As I thought, he really can’t handle touching another man, can he?
So, Sane was suffering because he had “broken his vows” under the pressure of his religious dogmas—all because of Yu’s trickery and revenge—and now he couldn’t face his own faith. That pain was so great that he had brainwashed himself into thinking he should just treat Yu as his “wife” to make sense of the mistake.
Perhaps, at that moment, Sane really had considered making him undergo a sex change!
Heavens, that was terrifying. He didn’t want that; he wanted to be a real, upright man. Therefore… he couldn’t let Sane reach the point of “giving up on himself” and sinking into depravity.
Yu Yanshuang said solemnly, “A great person like me obviously knows how. I’m very skilled at this. But Sane, you must endure. This is a test from God. If I teach you how to do it, wouldn’t I be doing an even worse thing to you? Just wait for it to go down on its own.”
Looking at Yu Yanshuang’s tense little face, Sane almost laughed.
He played along, saying, “You’re right, Yu. I should explain—I didn’t want to retaliate against you. I just wanted this relationship of ours to end. I wanted the PR team to give me a plan so you couldn’t threaten me anymore, and then we could stop. But then you did something even more out of line,” Sane reminded him, referring to Yu’s actions earlier.
Sure enough, Yu Yanshuang guiltily averted his gaze. Sane was still brooding over what just happened.
So… that’s what that text message was about?
If he had known that, he would have just had a proper talk with Sane. Damn it. Now the situation had turned into this: Sane would suffer for the rest of his life (which Yu was happy about), but it also meant that every time Sane thought about today, he would want to torture and retaliate against him!
It was a deadlock again!
Sane suddenly changed the subject, his voice turning somber: “Yu, you’ve ruined our relationship. I’m still shaken. What if I really end up liking men? What will I do in the future?”
“Actually, it’s very normal!” Yu Yanshuang blurted out immediately, terrified that Sane was about to have another breakdown over his faith.
Sane raised an eyebrow, waiting patiently for him to continue.
Yu Yanshuang cleared his throat, guiltily fidgeting with his fingers. Before coming here, he had researched “what homophobic straight men fear most,” and it seemed his research was correct: being touched “there” by a man was indeed terrifying to them. Look at poor Sane, almost driven mad by the ordeal. Who had ever seen Sane so lost and full of self-doubt?
He organized the arguments he had seen in a forum post—specifically, how a gay man had tricked his straight roommate.
Yu Yanshuang spoke with a serious, “expert” tone: “Actually, good brothers help each other out. This is very normal. Just think of it as friends playing around and accidentally touching each other. You don’t have to suffer, and you don’t have to feel like you’ve betrayed your faith. It’s not that serious.”
Deep down, Sane was incredibly amused. He watched Yu Yanshuang try to “scam” him with such a righteous tone, his grape-like eyes darting around, never daring to meet his gaze. Even his way of lying was clumsy and adorable.
“But you said on the bed earlier that I shouldn’t have a reaction, that I was finished. Just a moment ago, you told me I had to endure. Now you say touching each other is normal,” Sane pointed out, his expression turning cold and suspicious. “Yu, are you playing with me?”
Yu Yanshuang sucked in a breath of cold air, realizing Sane wasn’t that easy to fool. Seeing Sane looking angry again, he couldn’t help but grab Sane’s arm and say affectionately, “Oh, I was just scaring you! Don’t take it seriously. I… I can teach you!”
He’d just download a video when he got back and let Sane learn from that. If he “taught” him that way, Sane couldn’t bother him anymore!
The corners of Sane’s mouth lifted slightly. “Is that so?”
“Yes! I’m very good at this, extremely skilled. I guarantee once you learn, you won’t feel uncomfortable anymore. So… so can we just call it even?” Yu Yanshuang asked.
Call it even?
Sane raised a hand to stroke Yu Yanshuang’s cheek, saying softly, “I have to think about it. What you say is different from my faith. Did you know? I originally thought of you as a younger brother. I felt very guilty and wanted to be nicer to you, but you’ve been so mean to me.”
Yu Yanshuang’s heart raced as the rough fingers brushed his face. This feeling of being “cherished” made him uncomfortable and weird; he didn’t like it at all. He had never been this intimate with anyone, but he didn’t dare reject Sane for fear of provoking him again.
He forced a smile and took the initiative to hold Sane’s hand. “I… I’ll be nicer to you in the future. Really,” Yu Yanshuang vowed.
Even though his heart was already decided: the moment he left this time, he’d run as soon as he saw Sane in the future!
Sane smiled slightly. “After making a promise like that, are you going to run away the first chance you get, just like earlier?”
Yu Yanshuang gritted his teeth. Heavens! Why is Sane so difficult to deal with?!
Damn it, damn it. Yu Yanshuang was forced to swear, holding up three fingers: “I promise, I definitely won’t run. I’ll be your best brother.” He paused, then pressed his palms together and switched to Chinese: “Dear Buddha, everything I just said was a lie. I didn’t mean to trick you. If you’re angry, please send a bolt of lightning to strike this stinking Sane to death.”
Sane could barely contain his laughter and quickly set the boy down.
Thinking Sane didn’t believe him, Yu Yanshuang explained hurriedly, “That’s a way we make solemn oaths in China. The part at the end was an incantation—very brutal! It’s as serious as you swearing to Jesus.”
Sane took a deep breath. After regaining his usual cold composure, his grey eyes turned dark. “I’ll believe you one more time. If you lie to me again, I will punish you.”
Yu Yanshuang’s backside tightened, and he instinctively covered it in fear.
“I… I need new clothes…” he said, changing the subject.
Sane glanced at his phone. “Mhm. They’re being delivered. Along with Chinese food. You’re hungry, right?”
Yu Yanshuang pointed at Sane and then at himself. “Me? We’re going to let someone see us like this?”
Seeing Yu’s frightened look, Sane smirked. “What are you afraid of? Aren’t we ‘good brothers’?”
“But we’ll be misunderstood like this!”
Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Yu Yanshuang didn’t have time to hide, so he instinctively crawled under the table in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. He hissed a reminder to Sane: “Stand in front of me! Block me!”
Sane, helpless but indulgent, stood in front of him. The person entering was one of his trusted aides; he wouldn’t just call a stranger over.
From this angle, Yu Yanshuang watched Sane’s legs shifting in front of him, his heart thumping wildly. For some reason, looking at Sane’s body always made him feel unnatural. He instinctively closed his eyes until he felt Sane squatting down to his level.
One was a large, imposing figure, the other a small, curled-up bundle.
Sane seemed to be in a very good mood, a faint smile in his grey eyes. Under the sunlight, his dark blond hair looked more golden. A few strands fell over his forehead, and below his straight nose, his thin lips were slightly upturned. He looked incredibly handsome.
Yu Yanshuang dazed out for a second until Sane reached out to pull him out.
The aroma of food hit his nose. He turned to see the table laden with the Chinese dishes he liked. On the other side was the Mac computer he had wanted to buy, a translator, and plenty of clothes suitable for the weather—not the thin things he usually wore.
Yu Yanshuang realized that Sane was really… just like the rumors said. He was celibate, self-disciplined, and devout; that’s why a mere touch from Yu made him look like his faith was collapsing. He was kind and forgiving; just because he had kissed Yu first, he had actually come over to let Yu kiss him back, and he had even treated him so well to try and make up for things before today went south…
Yu Yanshuang found it hard to believe. How could someone be this good? Something had to be wrong.
But now wasn’t the time to think about that, because he was hungry, exhausted, and unable to resist Sane anyway. Afraid of causing another “faith collapse,” he didn’t dare bring up the blackmail material. He gave a sweet, obedient smile: “Thank you, Brother Sane.”
Sane’s hand paused as he set out the dishes, the veins on the back of his hand bulging for a moment.
After a long silence, he finally said, “You’re welcome, Little Yu. Can you call me that from now on?”
Yu Yanshuang forced a smile. No, how disgusting! He was only bowing his head because he was under Sane’s roof; he wouldn’t say it a second time.
“Wow, it looks delicious! Can I start eating now?” Yu Yanshuang said excitedly.
Sane’s gaze followed him as he scurried to the other side of the table and pulled out a chair, looking forward to the meal. Suppressing the urge to pick the boy up and feed him personally, Sane served him a bowl of rice.
Just as Yu Yanshuang was about to dig in, Sane suddenly said, “Then, can I help you?”
Yu Yanshuang was confused. “What?”
Sane said, “Didn’t you say that’s what good brothers do? That it’s normal? If you teach me, I can help you once I’ve learned. You can see if I’ve learned well.”
Clatter.
The chopsticks in Yu Yanshuang’s hand fell to the floor. He turned to stone.
What was the saying? Lifting a rock only to drop it on your own foot.
He didn’t want that! How disgusting! The thought of Sane touching him made his whole body feel uncomfortable. This truly was the thing a “straight man” feared most. He wasn’t homophobic, he was just a normal man, and he absolutely couldn’t accept this!
But… Yu Yanshuang stole a glance at Sane’s expectant face. If he refused, would Sane start doubting himself again? Would they go back to that terrifying moment where Sane had him pinned down?
Yu Yanshuang managed to squeeze out an extremely bitter smile: “Sure… no problem…”
Absolutely impossible. Not even calling it even is worth this. He would definitely not teach Sane, especially if Sane had this in mind. Otherwise, Sane would pin him down and use his own “lessons” on him. He would die of shame!
Sane leaned closer, resting his hands on Yu Yanshuang’s shoulders. Yu Yanshuang flinched; Sane’s palms were too hot, so hot it terrified him.
Sane looked delighted. “When you call me ‘brother,’ I feel like everything you say makes sense. We’ll do exactly as you said.”
He whispered softly into Yu Yanshuang’s ear, “So, let’s try ‘helping each other’ right now.”
Yu Yanshuang’s eyes welled with tears as he tried to please him one more time: “Brother Sane… not right now, okay?”
