- The Gentle, Sickly Beauty Is Won Over By The Loyal Big Shot
- Chapter 29 - Baby Qi Ran’s Waist Hurts
“I’m not staying. I want to go home.”
Qi Ran huffily pulled down the hem of his shirt and sat in Gu Han’s lap, acting like a spoiled brat. “If you don’t let me go home, I won’t be good to you anymore. You won’t have a wife, and I’ll turn you into a stray puppy.”
“No, wifey, I was wrong.”
Gu Han hurriedly tried to coax Qi Ran. “I’ll take Ranran home right now, okay?”
“That’s more like it,” Qi Ran smiled, hooking his arms around Gu Han’s neck. “Puppy husband, I want to eat some soft fish jerky, the kind that’s just fish meat with no bones. Do you know how to make that?”
“I’ll learn,” Gu Han picked Qi Ran up and led him to get his clothes. “I’ll strive to let my wife eat it tonight.”
Qi Ran’s eyes lit up with anticipation. “Really?”
“Of course.” Gu Han held Qi Ran with one arm while rummaging through the wardrobe. He pulled out a shirt in the smallest size and showed it to Qi Ran. “Wifey, is it okay if you wear my shirt back? Your pajamas got dirty from vomiting, and the ones I washed aren’t dry yet. You definitely can’t wear damp clothes. You have a slender build, and this shirt is already a bit small for me now, so it might still be a little big on you.”
“Wear my husband’s clothes?” Qi Ran took the shirt, the corners of his lips curling up. “I like that.”
“Let me help Ranran dress.” Gu Han placed Qi Ran on the bed and moved to unbutton his hospital gown, teasing him, “Can I kiss Ranran’s little tummy?”
“Of course you can,” Qi Ran pinched Gu Han’s cheek. “As long as you promise to take me home today, I can set aside my shyness for a bit and let you touch my tummy.”
“We’re going home. I promised you.”
Gu Han said, “I am Ranran’s husband. Of course, I must speak the truth and fulfill every promise.”
Gu Han said he wanted to kiss Qi Ran’s stomach, but after unbuttoning the hospital gown and seeing the snow-white skin of Qi Ran’s neck, he became too shy to look up. He lowered his gaze and hurriedly draped the shirt over Qi Ran, but Qi Ran pulled it right off. His pale, tender arms wrapped around Gu Han’s waist, pulling him down as they both tumbled back onto the bed, huddling together under the covers.
“Husband, your shirt is too scratchy,” Qi Ran laughed softly. “It’s uncomfortable.”
Gu Han didn’t say a word. Half a minute later, he casually tossed the shirt out from under the covers, held Qi Ran in his arms, and shared a lingering kiss with him.
“Husband,” Qi Ran gently pushed against Gu Han’s chest. “You’re pressing on my stomach, it hurts a little.”
“I’m sorry, Ranran.” Gu Han quickly sat up, his fingertips gently rubbing Qi Ran’s stomach. “You just had surgery. Once we start being intimate, I forget to be careful. I’m so sorry. How is it now? Does it hurt badly?”
“It just hurt for a second when you pressed on it, it’s fine.” Qi Ran also sat up and slowly put on the shirt. When he looked up at Gu Han, his eyes were bright with anticipation. His snow-white long legs swung back and forth on the edge of the bed. When Qi Ran was happy, he was just like a child. “Alright, it’s time to go home! I really can’t wait. I don’t want to stay in the hospital for another minute. Whether it’s your house or mine, they both feel better than here.”
“So Ranran really hates hospitals.” Gu Han didn’t plan on wearing the shirt he had thrown on the floor. Bare-chested, he picked Qi Ran up with one arm again, letting him sit steadily on his forearm. “Then we are going home right now. Ranran, help me pick out a shirt. I have a bit of a clean freak streak. I won’t wear clothes that have touched the floor.”
“I like pink!”
Qi Ran leaned over and plucked a light pink shirt from the wardrobe. He unfolded it and held it up against Gu Han. “It looks great. My husband has a good figure, he looks good in everything.”
“Okay, I love the shirt my wife picked for me.”
Gu Han took the shirt and, thinking of the bear pajamas he had worn the past few days, remarked casually, “It’s a pity this shirt doesn’t have the little bears Ranran likes most.”
Qi Ran tilted his head and looked at Gu Han for a moment, suddenly letting out a small laugh but saying nothing.
“Ranran, I’ll carry you.” Once Gu Han had changed, he gathered Qi Ran into a horizontal bridal carry. “You just had surgery and your body is weak, you should walk as little as possible.”
“Give me a piggyback ride,” Qi Ran hugged Gu Han’s neck and leaned in to kiss his cheek. “Husband, I want a piggyback.”
“No can do, wifey. Your stomach is bloated, the pressure will make it hurt, and it’s not good for the wound.” Gu Han was always a bit of a mother hen, coaxing Qi Ran softly. “Be a good baby. Once the recovery period is over, I’ll give you piggyback rides every day, okay?”
“Well, alright then.”
Qi Ran’s eyes blinked as he studied Gu Han with curiosity and affection. He said softly, “You’re so thoughtful. I used to see you in the news, and on camera, your face was always cold and distant. I thought I would never have any intersection with you in this lifetime. But after spending time together, you’re not actually what you seem like on the outside. You’re very gentle and cute. I think the impression I had of you at first was completely different.”
“That’s only being gentle to my wife. I’m interested in everything about my wife, but I have no desire to explore other people.” Gu Han smiled warmly. “If everyone could receive my gentleness, then my feelings wouldn’t be worth much. My most special self is, of course, reserved for Ranran.”
“So that’s how it is,” Qi Ran was very happy. “Then I am the most special person in Baby Gu’s heart?”
“Of course you are, baby,” Gu Han kissed Qi Ran’s forehead. “Wifey, I love you so much.”
Gu Han carried Qi Ran to the parking lot. When they reached the car, he carefully placed Qi Ran in the passenger seat, meticulously adjusted the seat’s incline, and draped his suit jacket over Qi Ran. Qi Ran laughed and said, “Husband, I’m not that delicate. It was just a minor surgery.”
“No, my wife is very precious.” Gu Han also got into the car, only closing the door after adjusting the air conditioning temperature. “Wifey, everything is ready. We’re about to head out.”
“Mm,” Qi Ran nodded. “Let’s go home and pick up the dog first.”
The drive to the Litian Mingzhu Garden Villa was smooth for Gu Han. After the incident with Wu Hong, no one looked for trouble on the road. They reached the destination according to the navigation’s estimated time.
When Qi Ran opened the door, the little dog was jumping for joy, sniffing Qi Ran and then sniffing Gu Han. It wanted to lead the two of them inside the villa, but Gu Han leaned down and picked it up. “Hamburger, come with Daddy. We’re going to a new home. Daddy Gu Han has prepared a new food bowl for you.”
The little dog suddenly quieted down, its eyes wide with excitement and a hint of alarm as it looked between Gu Han and Qi Ran. However, it remained very well-behaved from the villa to the car, neither struggling nor barking.
“Hamburger, sit here with Daddy and be good.” Qi Ran sat in the passenger seat holding the dog, looking up at Gu Han with a smile. “Clean freak baby, is this the first time you’ve let a dog in your car?”
“Yes,” Gu Han looked at Qi Ran and the dog in his arms with eyes full of doting affection. “It’s a very novel feeling.”
Gu Han’s home was in the city center, almost adjacent to the Jianchen Park area. It was the most high-end and luxurious residential development built by Jianchen since its founding.
“Husband, you live in the Litian Fengyue Villa area,” Qi Ran looked at the villa nameplate by the height limit bar. “Litian Fengyue is truly the best housing development in the entire Special District. I love it so much, but it’s just too expensive. Plus, residents almost never list their properties for sale, even if I wanted to buy a house here, I couldn’t.”
“So Ranran likes it?”
Gu Han said softly, “Once your health has recovered a bit, let’s transfer the house to your name, okay?”
“I don’t want the house,” Qi Ran shook his head. “I want a home, a home with my husband and my dog.”
“If you don’t want the title transferred, then I’ll add your name to the property deed.”
Gu Han said, “Having my name written together with my wife’s is a very romantic thing.”
Qi Ran tilted his head, leaning on Gu Han’s shoulder. “Then… does that mean we’re getting married?”
Gu Han kissed Qi Ran’s forehead. “Does my wife still not want to get married?”
“Mm,” Qi Ran sounded a bit aggrieved. “I want to and I don’t want to. It’s because I really have a phobia of marriage. I’m not actually stalling on purpose… I’m just scared.”
“It’s okay, baby. I respect you. We can add your name without getting married first, though the procedure is a bit complicated.”
Gu Han stopped the car at the entrance of Litian Fengyue. While waiting for the window to roll down, he patted Qi Ran’s head. “Be a good boy, wifey. We’ll be home soon. Once we’re home, you can lie down on the big bed. Just bear with it for a little while longer.”
The property manager greeted Gu Han. Seeing another person and a dog in the car, the manager was surprised and asked tentatively, “President Gu, is your friend here as a guest?”
“My wife,” Gu Han naturally draped an arm around Qi Ran’s shoulder. “The three of us in the car are a family of three. It shouldn’t be strange to raise a dog like a baby nowadays, right?”
Litian Fengyue was Jianchen’s crown jewel. In the world of art, this would be a top-tier masterpiece. Therefore, the property manager here held a much higher rank within Jianchen than managers of other developments. He saw Gu Han frequently, and Gu Han’s attitude toward him was warmer than toward other managers.
“It’s not strange, President Gu, not strange at all,” the manager said with a fawning smile. “President Gu, I wish you and your lady a happy life. If you have any needs for package pickup, shopping, or housekeeping, you can message me. I will do my best to handle everything perfectly.”
“Mm,” Gu Han closed the car window and carefully adjusted the suit jacket covering Qi Ran’s waist and abdomen. “Baby, is your stomach still bloated?”
“A bit better. Maybe it’s because I’m not in the hospital, my mood is better.” Qi Ran gripped Gu Han’s hand. “Husband, let’s go home quickly. I can’t wait. I’m so happy.”
Gu Han drove the car into the private garage and carried Qi Ran out of the passenger seat. Just as he was about to head for the elevator, Qi Ran saw a whole row of luxury cars in the garage. He pointed into the distance and asked, “Husband, are those all your cars?”
“Yes,” Gu Han stopped in his tracks. “Wifey, I’ve been liking the Bentley lately. Take a look and see which one you like. From now on, I’ll drive whichever car my wife likes to take you to work at Jianchen.”
