The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 6
Planet G30 was an undeveloped energy planet, currently uninhabited by humans.
Across the entire star system, all registered planets were equipped with starports for temporary docking of passing starships.
Jun Jue used her mech to locate the starport while making her way there, pondering whether she had missed any details about the events of the previous day.
During this time, Ruan Wei remained silent, doing her best to keep up.
Too slow.
Jun Jue suddenly stopped and summoned her Silver Fox mech. Ruan Wei, carried by momentum, took a few extra steps forward before realizing Jun Jue had halted, then turned and ran back to her.
“Pretty sister, can I ride inside the mech with you?”
Ruan Wei looked at her expectantly.
Jun Jue turned her face away and replied coolly, “No.”
With that, she leaped into the cockpit located in the chest of the towering Silver Fox mech and swiftly closed the hatch.
After settling into the pilot’s seat, Jun Jue saw on the screen Ruan Wei drooping her head dejectedly, her hands tightly gripping the sides of her military-green cloak.
Jun Jue lifted her eyelids slightly and manipulated the Silver Fox mech to crouch down, lowering one arm.
“Get on.”
The mech’s voice was emotionless, but Ruan Wei, hearing it, seemed to revive instantly. She raised her head, saying, “Thank you, pretty sister,” as she tugged at her cloak and lightly jumped onto the mech’s palm.
Jun Jue felt a faint pressure on her own palm.
The original mech designers had incorporated neural network technology to synchronize human and mech sensations, allowing for better control. Even so, only a rare few could truly achieve perfect synchronization.
Jun Jue was among the elite of those few.
But now, she found herself slightly troubled.
“Pretty sister, I’m ready. We can go now.”
It was Ruan Wei’s voice and the feather-light tickle on her palm that snapped Jun Jue out of her thoughts. She glanced down, Ruan Wei was swaying her fluffy military-green cloak, which was causing the sensation.
“If you’re seated, stop fidgeting.”
Ruan Wei immediately froze, though her dark, gleaming eyes darted around restlessly.
Jun Jue propelled the Silver Fox mech forward at high speed. While it couldn’t match the velocity of a starship, it was certainly no slouch.
The speed was so intense that Ruan Wei felt herself being jostled up, and when she landed back on the hard mech palm, her bottom stung a little.
Jun Jue, of course, noticed this. Before Ruan Wei could say anything, she manipulated the mech to curl its fingers slightly, loosely cradling Ruan Wei in its grasp.
The confined space eliminated the issue of a sore bottom, though Ruan Wei still swayed with the mech’s movements, her heart rising and falling with each motion.
It was thrilling, but bearable.
After adjusting for a while, Ruan Wei began to enjoy herself. She even dared to peek through the gaps between the mech’s fingers to take in the scenery below.
However, the planet was barren, with little to see.
Yet for her, this was a rare and safe experience. Previously confined in a pitch-black underground prison, she had loved the darkness but also yearned for the light. After escaping, she had been too focused on fleeing to enjoy moments like this, relaxed and carefree, taking in the view without even having to walk.
Though the pretty sister hadn’t let her ride inside the mech, she was still happy. At least she hadn’t been abandoned.
How delightful!
Seated in the mech’s palm, Ruan Wei watched the sunlight streaming through the wide gaps between its fingers. It must have been nearing noon, the sunlight was growing fiercer.
Ruan Wei quickly pulled the hood of her cloak forward, allowing her to continue enjoying the sunlight without being directly exposed to it.
The gradually intensifying rays fell upon the silver mech, reflecting light onto Ruan Wei’s face. She raised a hand to shield her eyes, then reached out toward the mech’s fingers.
How strange.
Just yesterday, she had been afraid of the mech because its color resembled a venomous snake, yet now she dared to touch it willingly.
The moment her fingers made contact, the mech’s hand twitched slightly outward.
Ruan Wei immediately withdrew her own hand, pretending nothing had happened, and buried her face in her knees.
But in her heart, she wondered: Did the mech feel my touch… and get shy?
…
By noon, the two of them and the mech arrived at the starport just as a Federation starship was preparing to depart. Jun Jue quickened her pace and ran ahead.
“General!”
Someone aboard the starship shouted. Jun Jue, realizing they might be Federation soldiers, halted.
The soldiers on the starship, seeing that Jun Jue was still alive, erupted in excited cries. Some blinked repeatedly, their faces frozen in disbelief as they stared at her.
Their expressions were as if they had seen a ghost.
A group of soldiers hurriedly disembarked.
“General, you’re alive!”
Jun Jue’s brow furrowed. “What happened in the Federation?”
“N-nothing…” The responding soldier stammered in shock. “Nothing happened in the Federation, it’s just… you… you…”
“We’ll talk on the starship.” Jun Jue had a bad feeling. “Let’s return to the Federation.”
“Yes, sir!” The leading soldier, a lieutenant, swiftly ordered the crew to open the hatch and arranged the soldiers in formation to welcome her.
Just then, another soldier descended from the starship, carrying something in his arms.
“Lieutenant, we can proceed with the ceremony now.”
Only after speaking did the soldier notice Jun Jue, his eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets.
The lieutenant promptly kicked the soldier and stepped forward with an apologetic smile. “General, there was a miscommunication in the Federation. It’s wonderful that you’re still alive.”
“Please board the starship.”
The lieutenant saluted first, and all the soldiers present followed suit in perfect unison, standing in two neat rows on either side of the starship like well-trimmed hedges.
Ruan Wei, who had been silently hiding behind Jun Jue, suddenly spoke up in a tiny voice, “Pretty sister, is that your photo? But why is it in black and white?”
Jun Jue let out a cold laugh. A chill ran down everyone’s spines, and even Ruan Wei felt a little afraid though mostly, she just found these people incredibly odd.
Is Pretty Sister’s name ‘General’? Why do they all seem so scared of her?
“Let’s board first,” Jun Jue said to Ruan Wei.
“Oh, okay.”
Only then did Ruan Wei dare to step out from behind Jun Jue. The moment the soldiers saw the stunningly beautiful girl emerge from behind their general, their jaws dropped in shock once more.
This was unheard of!
Everyone in the Federation knew General Jun Jue was cold, aloof, and devoid of emotion or desire. As a top-tier alpha, she was decorated with countless military honors and the highest accolades yet no one had ever heard of a woman by her side.
Even when the Chief Executive, Lin Aimin, had offered his daughter’s hand in marriage, the general had refused!
That was the Chief Executive’s treasured daughter! A renowned beauty across the star systems!
But the girl before them now… seemed even more beautiful!
Ruan Wei hadn’t seen so many people in a long time. Uncomfortable under their collective gaze, she instinctively moved closer to Jun Jue.
“Pretty sister…”
From the mix of astonishment and admiration in her subordinates’ eyes, Jun Jue already knew what they were thinking.
“You go up first.”
Jun Jue placed her hand on Ruan Wei’s back, giving her a gentle push upward, and Ruan Wei stepped onto the ramp leading to the starship.
Seeing this, none of the soldiers dared to openly stare, at most stealing glances from the corners of their eyes.
Once Ruan Wei was aboard, the transparent hatch automatically sealed shut. Inside, she was alone, and a flicker of fear crossed her heart.
She peered outside through the transparent hatch.
Jun Jue paused her conversation with her subordinates and raised a hand to wave at Ruan Wei, signaling for her to find a seat.
After a couple of seconds, Ruan Wei seemed to understand and turned away.
The moment Jun Jue withdrew her gaze, she caught sight of the soldiers’ nervous faces.
“What are you looking at?”
“Is it that fascinating?”
One soldier nodded emphatically, then realized his mistake and shook his head, only to freeze in place when he realized that was even worse. Jun Jue shot him a cold glance.
The other soldiers stood rigidly at attention, not daring to move a muscle, as if treading on thin ice.
“Comm device.”
The moment Jun Jue spoke, the lieutenant swiftly removed the device from his wrist and presented it to her with both hands.
In the New Stellar Era, every citizen possessed a comm device, without one, life was nearly impossible. These devices stored personal information, navigation systems, communication functions, and various other conveniences.
In appearance, they somewhat resembled the wristwatches of ancient Earth, though their capabilities far surpassed mere timekeeping.
The lieutenant’s comm device had a stable signal. Jun Jue opened the latest updates, quickly scanning the rapidly shifting news feed.

…
After swiftly skimming through the absurd headlines, Jun Jue tossed the comm device back to the lieutenant.
“General, rest assured, I will immediately contact the Federation to debunk these rumors and inform the entire galaxy that you are still alive.”
The lieutenant was a burly, bald man whose rank had been inherited. While lacking in other skills, he excelled at flattery.
The matter was resolved quickly. Within minutes, Jun Jue’s comm device regained its communication signal.
By then, she had already boarded the starship.
“Ruan Wei?”
The interior of the starship was vast, capable of accommodating an army of ten thousand. Unsure of where Ruan Wei had gone, Jun Jue called out her name.
Ruan Wei, with her exceptional vampire hearing, immediately picked up the sound of the pretty sister calling her and hurried toward the voice.
“Pretty sister, you’re finally here. I was so scared all alone.”
Jun Jue’s expression softened slightly when she saw Ruan Wei.
Just as Ruan Wei was about to reach her, she suddenly spread her arms wide, clearly intending to embrace her. Jun Jue raised a hand and pressed it against Ruan Wei’s forehead, stopping her in her tracks.
Ruan Wei reluctantly lowered her arms, her lips pursed in disappointment.
She really wanted to snuggle up to the pretty sister, but she had been rejected again.
Only once she was certain Ruan Wei wouldn’t recklessly close the distance again did Jun Jue lower her hand. But to the other soldiers aboard the starship, the scene carried a very different meaning.
Oh my stars, what am I witnessing?!
Is the cold and ruthless General Jun Jue actually flirting with some random beautiful girl?
Though their minds were roiling with shock, not a single soldier dared to voice their thoughts, exchanging only meaningful glances with their comrades.
See that? Even General Jun Jue has emotions and desires!
I saw it, I saw it! From now on, if anyone says General Jun Jue is unfeeling, I’ll be the first to argue!
“Hey hey hey, where did you get the idea that General Jun Jue is interested? I didn’t see it at all!”
“Follow me.”
Jun Jue preferred quiet, so she led Ruan Wei to her private lounge.
Once Jun Jue left, the soldiers no longer held back, gathering together to whisper among themselves.
“See? See? The General is totally into it, isn’t she?”
“How is she into it? She just took her to the lounge.”
“Think about what you can do in a lounge!”
“Ohhh! I get it now!”
…
The door closed, and the world fell silent.
Jun Jue ignored Ruan Wei, leaning against the door while fiddling with her now-functional wrist computer.
Ruan Wei also relaxed. She found the people in gray-green uniforms just like the pretty sister, quite intimidating. Thankfully, the pretty sister had brought her here.
“Pretty sister,” Ruan Wei instinctively tried to move closer.
As Ruan Wei attempted to approach, Jun Jue tapped her wrist computer and took a photo with the flash on.
Ruan Wei raised her hand to block the light, resulting in a blurry photo.
“Don’t block it.”
Ruan Wei lowered her hand. She didn’t understand what the pretty sister was doing but decided to cooperate.
Jun Jue successfully took the photo and ran a search through the entire Federation’s identity database, waiting for the results.
Five minutes later, an emotionless female AI voice echoed through the lounge.
“Report, General. Search result: No matching identity information found.”
