The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 27
After sending the message, Ruan Wei immediately turned off her neural interface because the children had already shifted their attention from Lin Qiyue to her. One second later, and her chat history with Jun Jue would have been exposed.
“Sister, are you chatting with the General?”
Ruan Wei pressed a finger to her lips with a soft “shh” and continued telling the children their story before Lin Qiyue could glance over.
Lin Qiyue hadn’t received a reply from Jun Jue for a long time and glanced toward Ruan Wei, who was still engrossed in storytelling with those weird kids.
She couldn’t fathom what Jun Jue saw in Ruan Wei, Ruan Wei didn’t even care about Jun Jue as much as she did!
…
When her shift ended in the afternoon, Ruan Wei had just stepped out of the hospital when she spotted Jiang Lan standing beside a hovercar. She glanced around but didn’t see Zhuo Hanjun.
“Zhuo Hanjun isn’t here. Don’t worry, even if she were, she couldn’t harm you.”
Ruan Wei suddenly understood. “This morning…”
“That was me,” Jiang Lan confirmed with a nod, her short hair ruffled slightly by the wind.
“You didn’t stand guard here all day, did you?” Ruan Wei asked in surprise.
“Yes, Madam.” Jiang Lan thought for a moment before deciding to be honest. “Protecting you is my current assignment.”
“Did the General order you to do this?”
Jiang Lan nodded. Ruan Wei quickly opened her neural interface, the virtual screen still displaying her chat with Jun Jue. Jiang Lan inadvertently caught sight of the word “miss” before swiftly looking away.
Once inside the hovercar, Ruan Wei urged Jiang Lan to drive faster, she wanted to get home to Jun Jue as soon as possible.
Fifteen minutes later, the hovercar landed. Ruan Wei leaped out and dashed toward the villa, pausing just before the door to turn back and thank Jiang Lan, bouncing like a little rabbit.
Jiang Lan, who had just stepped out of the vehicle, remarked to Uncle Zhang, “Madam is quite lively. She suits the General well.”
Uncle Zhang beamed with the pride of a parent hearing their child praised. “I think so too.”
…
Ruan Wei sprinted straight upstairs, stopping breathlessly outside Jun Jue’s door.
“General, I’m back,” she announced, raising her hand to knock.
Inside the room, Jun Jue had just finished injecting the last of her suppressants. It wasn’t even seven in the evening yet, but the entire space was thick with the scent of her pheromones. If she opened the door now, Ruan Wei would likely collapse under the overwhelming pressure.
She went to the bathroom first, splashing cold water on her face. When she looked up, the mirror reflected her flushed skin, a stark contrast to her usual composed appearance.
After leaving the bathroom, she approached the door as she had that morning, speaking to Ruan Wei through the barrier. “Weiwei, I’m fine. I’ll take you to work tomorrow morning.”
“I don’t believe you. Open the door and let me see for myself.”
Jun Jue tried to persuade her for a while longer, but Ruan Wei remained unconvinced.
“General, just open the door. I’ll only take one look, just one,” Ruan Wei pleaded sweetly.
Jun Jue gripped the doorknob, taking a deep breath. The memory of her flushed reflection in the mirror made her reluctant to let Ruan Wei see her in such a state.
“Weiwei, I’m tired. See you in the morning,” Jun Jue said before trudging deeper into the bedroom.
Just as she turned a corner, she heard the door click open behind her. She turned back just in time to see Ruan Wei rushing toward her like a gust of wind, crashing straight into her arms.
The bedroom door slid shut automatically behind Ruan Wei the moment she entered.
Jun Jue held the person in her arms tightly, her voice hoarse and restrained as she asked, “Weiwei, how did you open the door?”
Ruan Wei, pressed tightly against her, found it hard to breathe and mumbled, “Xiao Ke helped open the door.”
Jun Jue: “…”
Xiao Ke: shivering in fear
“I scared Xiao Ke into opening the door. General, are you angry?”
“No.”
Unable to control herself, Jun Jue pulled Ruan Wei even closer, as if trying to meld her into her own body.
Ruan Wei naturally noticed this. Tilting her head up, she asked, “General, are you really okay?”
“Mmm.”
“But you’re holding me so tight, I can barely breathe.”
“Mmm.” Jun Jue responded but didn’t loosen her grip, instead, she held Ruan Wei even tighter.
Ruan Wei suddenly grew a little nervous. “General, your body feels really hot. Should you let go of me?”
“No.”
Jun Jue lowered her head, nuzzling her cheek against Ruan Wei’s neck.
Ruan Wei was puzzled but also wrapped her arms around Jun Jue. The close contact made her feel incredibly safe, even if it was a little hard to breathe.
“General.”
“Mmm?”
“This time, you were the one who initiated the closeness.”
“Mmm.”
After acknowledging, Jun Jue finally released her. “Did you have a good day at work?”
“It was alright.”
Ruan Wei thought of something and added, “Thank you, General. Sister Jiang Lan protected me today. I was very safe.”
“Mmm.”
Ruan Wei noticed that Jun Jue had been staring at her the whole time she spoke, her gaze tender and lingering. Feeling a bit shy, Ruan Wei turned her face away slightly.
Jun Jue gently cupped her chin and turned her face back, asking bluntly, “Weiwei, can I kiss you?”
“Huh?” Ruan Wei blinked her long lashes, lowering them to hide her shyness.
“Okay,” she whispered in agreement.
Jun Jue caught the response instantly, wrapping an arm around Ruan Wei’s slender waist and kissing her deeply.
Caught off guard, Ruan Wei instinctively clung to Jun Jue’s shoulders.
Before this, Ruan Wei had no idea a kiss could be so fierce. Jun Jue seemed to have gone mad, as if she wanted to devour her whole. Jun Jue herself didn’t know that one day she’d become such a ravenous, possessive madwoman.
When the kiss ended, Jun Jue watched with lingering desire as Ruan Wei gasped for breath against her shoulders.
Ruan Wei felt her tongue had gone numb and didn’t dare look up.
“Weiwei.”
Jun Jue called her name, but she still didn’t raise her head.
Jun Jue pinched her waist lightly, and Ruan Wei grew a little annoyed.
“General, if you’re in your rut period, how do you still have the strength to pinch me?”
“Weiwei, do you know what a rut period is?”
Ruan Wei hesitated, then shook her head. She had no idea.
“What about an omega’s heat?”
Again, Ruan Wei shook her head. Jun Jue looked at her with pity, locked away for so long, she didn’t even know the most basic physiological facts.
“Oh, I remember now,” Ruan Wei said. “On the day I presented, the bad people injected me with something, and I passed out.”
“Every month?” Jun Jue frowned.
Ruan Wei shook her head. “Every three months.”
“No fixed date?”
Ruan Wei thought for a moment. “I don’t remember. Is the date important?”
Jun Jue: “…”
“General.” Ruan Wei tugged at her hand. “You still haven’t told me how I can help you.”
“I’ll tell you later. Weiwei, you’re still too young.”
“I’m a working adult now. I still remember asking my mom when I could start dating as a child, and she said when I grew up.”
“General, aren’t we dating right now?”
Ruan Wei’s reasoning was too sound, and Jun Jue couldn’t find the right words to refute.
All she knew was that if she stayed in the same space with Ruan Wei any longer, she might lose control.
“Weiwei, of course we’re dating,” Jun Jue said, biting her lower lip, trying to use the pain to stay composed. “You’ve seen that I’m fine. Go back to your own room for now, okay?”
“Okay,” Ruan Wei nodded in agreement. Before leaving, she asked, “General, what incense did you use in your room? It smells so nice. Can I have some too? I’d like to freshen up my room.”
The last thread of restraint in Jun Jue’s mind snapped.
“You like this scent?”
“Yes! What is it?”
“It’s my pheromones.”
“Pheromones? Do they come from the glands?” Ruan Wei had just overheard Tian Tian and another girl discussing pheromones at lunch today. They had even asked her what her pheromones smelled like, and at the time, Ruan Wei had touched her own gland and said she didn’t know yet.
“Mhm.” Jun Jue took Ruan Wei’s hand and guided it to the gland on the back of her neck.
Ruan Wei stood on her tiptoes, leaning against Jun Jue’s shoulder to look, but withdrew her finger after just one touch.
“Our glands are different,” Ruan Wei said.
Jun Jue pushed Ruan Wei away, biting her lip hard. “Go rest. See you tomorrow.”
Just as Ruan Wei was about to turn and leave, she suddenly noticed blood trickling from Jun Jue’s lips. Without thinking, she rushed forward.
This was the perfect opportunity to drink blood!
Jun Jue was stunned for a brief moment before responding passionately to Ruan Wei’s “kiss.”
This kiss was even more intense than before.
When they finally pulled apart, both were breathing heavily. Since Jun Jue had always resisted her instincts before, even just a kiss now could help her hold out a little longer.
She had a feeling her cravings would only grow stronger, one day, she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from devouring Ruan Wei whole. But not now, not today. Ruan Wei didn’t even understand the most basic physiological concepts yet. Taking advantage of her now would be despicable.
“General, why were you bleeding?” Ruan Wei waited until the crimson hue in her eyes from seeing blood had faded before daring to look up.
“Did I bite you? You were already bleeding before I kissed you,” Ruan Wei said, suddenly doubting herself.
“No, it wasn’t you.”
Ruan Wei sighed in relief, then hesitantly asked, “General, you’re not sending me away anymore?”
Jun Jue didn’t answer. Instead, she raised her right hand, and Ruan Wei leaned in to look. Jun Jue was searching and compiling information about alpha and omega physiology. A few minutes later, she sent Ruan Wei a large folder.
“If you don’t want to read, there are video explanations too,” Jun Jue said, forwarding the videos she’d found as well.
“Thank you, General. I’ll study hard,” Ruan Wei said.
“Go back to your own room,” Jun Jue urged, feeling her self-control wearing thin again.
But Ruan Wei simply sat down on the edge of her bed and started reading the files on her own device.
“Weiwei, go study in your own room.”
“Wait a moment, General, I’ve found the answer.” Ruan Wei excitedly clicked open a document titled “How Omegas Can Help Alphas Safely Navigate Their Rut Period.” Jun Jue wanted to stop her, but it was already too late.
“Marking. General, this document says that as long as the alpha marks the omega, it’ll work.”
“Are you going to mark me now?” Ruan Wei sat on her bed, tilting her head up with a smile as she asked, as if posing a simple question like whether they should go eat.
Almost no alpha in rut period could resist such an invitation from an omega. Jun Jue struggled internally.
“Weiwei, do you know what marking is?”
“Of course I do.” Ruan Wei pointed to the explanation on the virtual screen. “It’s biting the neck. I don’t mind, you can just go ahead and bite.” She herself had coveted Jun Jue’s neck for so long, having only bitten it twice before, once when Jun Jue was unconscious and another time while she was asleep, both times driven by the need to drink blood. Even though it was just twice, the guilt still weighed heavily on her.
If Jun Jue bit her too, then she wouldn’t feel so bad about it anymore. In the future, she could even try openly asking Jun Jue if she could bite her neck. For a vampire, the blood flowing through the neck was the most delicious.
Just like that day, Ruan Wei tilted her head to the side, exposing her snow-white neck.
Suppressing the longing in her heart, Jun Jue raised her hand and covered the omega’s soft gland.
“Are you really okay with me biting your gland?”
