The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 16
The video call Jun Jue had received was from the Chief Executive, assigning the prospective General Zhuo Han Jun to work under her.
She had left to deal with the matter.
By the time she returned home, it was already late at night. Butler Zhang and the attendants were waiting in the courtyard.
“Go rest,” Jun Jue said, rubbing her temples. She was feeling a bit weary today.
Before heading upstairs, she asked, “Butler Zhang, is Weiwei asleep?”
Butler Zhang nodded, a warm smile in his eyes.
With such a young lady by her side, perhaps the General would finally be able to sleep soundly every night.
Jun Jue went up to the sixth floor, the top level, unsure which room Ruan Wei had been assigned to.
Just as she was thinking this, she pushed open her bedroom door and saw Ruan Wei lying fast asleep on her bed, nestled in a sea of fiery red rose petals.
Jun Jue didn’t dwell on why Ruan Wei was in her room. She closed the door softly, took off her military uniform, and stepped into the bathroom.
The faint scent of milk and flowers still lingered in the air. For the first time, she filled the bathtub with plain hot water instead of her usual routine.
[Respected General, won’t you try the milk bath? Madam used it earlier.]
The artificial intelligence, silent for years, suddenly spoke up, startling Jun Jue for a moment.
“No need.”
[Very well, General. It’s truly a shame you won’t indulge. Xiao Ke is saddened that you’ll miss out on such a delightful experience.]
“…Xiao Ke?”
[Madam gave me this name today. Xiao Ke likes it very much.]
Jun Jue: “…”
Xiao Ke went on to share more details about Ruan Wei’s bath.
[Madam seemed to want to drink the milk. Xiao Ke had to inform her that the bathwater wasn’t for consumption.]
[Madam particularly enjoyed the peony petals used today.]
[Madam didn’t seem fond of the red wine.]
[Madam also cares deeply about you, General. She specifically asked Xiao Ke about your preferences.]
Jun Jue rested her hands on the edge of the bathtub, droplets of water glistening on her slightly flushed skin. She lifted her eyelids, waiting for the newly named AI to continue.
But the AI fell silent.
Jun Jue soaked for fifteen minutes, the warm water gently lapping around her. A soft feather seemed to drift in her heart, tickling her now and then.
It seemed Xiao Ke wouldn’t say more, and Jun Jue didn’t ask. She rose from the bath, dried herself, and wrapped a robe around her.
Just as she was about to leave the bathroom, Xiao Ke spoke again.
[General, what are your preferences?]
[If you tell me, I’ll inform Madam the next time she takes a bath.]
…
Jun Jue returned to the bedroom to find Ruan Wei had shifted positions in her sleep. Now lying on her side, her face nestled in her palm, one slender leg slightly bent, the rose-red silk nightgown disheveled, the collar slightly open, sweet yet alluring.
Jun Jue turned off the light and quietly lay down on the other side of the bed.
The moment she closed her eyes, she felt someone coil around her. The cool touch could only belong to Ruan Wei.
Jun Jue placed her hands on Ruan Wei’s shoulders, intending to push her away, but in her sleep, Ruan Wei only clung tighter, wrapping her arms around Jun Jue’s neck and nuzzling into the crook of her neck.
“General, snuggle…”
Soft, cool lips brushed against her neck as Ruan Wei exhaled lightly. Jun Jue’s body stiffened as if turned to stone.
“Ruan Wei?” Jun Jue called softly. “Don’t joke like this.”
No response. The words seemed nothing more than sleep-talk.
Was Ruan Wei dreaming of snuggling with her?
…
Jun Jue didn’t sleep a wink all night, unsure how she endured Ruan Wei clinging to her like an octopus.
Morning light filtered through the curtains, casting faint, shifting patterns on the pristine floor. Jun Jue glanced down, the dim dawn light revealing Ruan Wei still sound asleep in her arms.
Last night, after meeting with the Chief Executive and Zhuo Hanjun, she had been granted half a month’s leave though she’d only taken a week.
She checked the time on her wrist device: 7 AM. Her usual waking hour, workday or not.
But now, with Ruan Wei draped over her, there was no telling when she’d wake, certainly not now.
Jun Jue closed her eyes, deciding to rest a little longer.
When Ruan Wei finally woke, well-rested, she was thrilled to find herself snuggled against Jun Jue though she had no idea how they’d ended up that way.
She loved the scent that Jun Jue carried, and every time she got close to him, it was like being enveloped in a refreshing chill.
After quietly observing for a while, she noticed that Jun Jue was fast asleep, with faint dark circles under his eyes.
Ruan Wei guessed that he must have returned very late last night and had been overworking himself recently, which was why he was sleeping so soundly.
Now was the perfect time for her to feed.
She tilted her head slightly and slowly moved closer until her lips brushed against the side of Jun Jue’s neck. Tentatively, she gave a gentle lick. In his sleep, Jun Jue tilted his head back slightly, his throat bobbing, but he didn’t wake.
With a faint smile, Ruan Wei revealed her tiny fangs and lightly pierced the skin on Jun Jue’s neck.
Two drops of crimson blood welled up, and Ruan Wei quickly licked them away. Afraid that Jun Jue might notice, she didn’t dare to suck, only repeating this process patiently over a dozen times until his blood clotted and no more seeped out.
Content, Ruan Wei healed the two small wounds for Jun Jue, pressing a soft kiss to the spot when she finished.
Convinced that everything had gone unnoticed, a smug smile curled on her lips as she prepared to continue pretending to sleep, snuggling against Jun Jue.
Then, a familiar voice suddenly came from above her.
“What were you just doing?”
…

General: Not only does she sleep in my bed and cling to me, but she even sneaks kisses?
