- The General Was Pregnant with the Emperor's Child
- Chapter 18 - Examining Injuries; The General Cries and Pleads
“I want Your Majesty.” A tingling sensation rushed down from his neck to his shoulders. Ye Wuyou buried his face in Xiao Yun’an’s chest, feigning shyness while tightly wrapping his arms around the Emperor’s neck.
What else could he want? He was already dressed like this; what else could he do but continue!
When he had first seen the formal court attire on himself, he thought the dream had changed its nature after he was “paralyzed” by the needles. But the moment the official robe was brushed aside, Ye Wuyou realized in shock that the dream hadn’t changed at all if anything, the spring tide had only intensified.
So I really do harbor such thoughts toward His Majesty. In his subconscious, he actually wanted to use his status as a Great General to act as a sycophant and seduce his superior.
As expected of a dream during heat… truly bold.
The only flaw was still that empty outer robe. The moment he realized the Emperor had initially been seriously discussing state affairs with him, Ye Wuyou turned crimson with shame. How could he walk into the Hall of Diligent Government dressed like that!
Parading around in such an outfit wasn’t that just telling everyone he was a favored official who relied solely on “bedside skills” to earn the Emperor’s favor and trust? Not that he minded he had mentally prepared for this since he first met His Majesty but Ye Wuyou actually preferred to let the Emperor “peel the bamboo” himself rather than making his intentions so glaringly obvious.
Meanwhile, Xiao Yun’an merely stared at him with a smile. Those fox-like eyes, which seemed to see through everything, made Ye Wuyou extremely uncomfortable.
The Emperor he was holding today felt very “off.” Ye Wuyou couldn’t say exactly what it was, but he felt the pressure radiating from the man tonight was as if the “real” person were standing right there. It felt more real than the previous times the expression was just like the old days in the Crown Prince’s Palace, right when the Emperor would catch him by his little “tail.”
This dream is truly something else not just eroticism, but memories too!
Ye Wuyou felt Xiao Yun’an’s grip tighten on his forearm. He struggled to lift his head from the Emperor’s embrace and turned aside, seeing those fair, slender, and beautiful fingers holding his elbow as he tried to pull back.
The body in the dream bore no scars. No matter how much Xiao Yun’an searched, all he held was a section of beautiful, smooth forearm. Ye Wuyou felt his entire arm go numb from the grip.
Remembering Ye Wuyou’s earlier words, Xiao Yun’an moved his gaze down toward the General’s lower back. “The forearm has been checked. Zhen shall examine the injuries elsewhere.”
Ye Wuyou never expected the Emperor in tonight’s dream to be so “hard to tease.” His lower back felt scorched by that burning gaze. Because he was in heat, his body had become exceptionally sensitive; before Xiao Yun’an’s cool fingertips even fully touched him, Ye Wuyou shuddered.
Ye Wuyou: “…”
He actually… just like that…
The Emperor’s clothes were all soiled now.
“I have no injuries! I was deceiving the Sovereign just now. Please punish me, Your Majesty…” Disrupted by the sudden accident, Ye Wuyou became shy instead. He abandoned his earlier boldness and whispered his apology against Xiao Yun’an.
However, Ye Wuyou had always loved using the tactic of “retreating to advance” to flirt with Xiao Yun’an. Thus, in the Emperor’s eyes, it appeared that his Great General had been sharpened by the winds of the Northern border for several years, and his skills in “seducing the superior” had only improved, having mastered the art of playing hard to get and now adding “resisting while welcoming.”
“Minister Ye’s request…” Xiao Yun’an paused meaningfully. Knowing full well that a Beta like Ye Wuyou couldn’t smell his Green Bamboo scent, he still instinctively released a massive amount of pheromones. He held Ye Wuyou and leaned back. “Zhen grants it.”
Enveloped in the rich bamboo scent, Ye Wuyou felt a profound sense of security. He grabbed a small lock of Xiao Yun’an’s hair that fell over his chest, restraining himself until the veins on the back of his hand stood out. He didn’t know what his physical body was doing outside the dream, but within his heat was beginning to scream for satisfaction again…
Ye Wuyou tilted his head up to find Xiao Yun’an’s lips. Upon contact, he responded with an equally intense Cold Plum scent. His eyes were misty, his lips slightly parted, as he hazily whispered the name of his ruler.
“Your Majesty…”
Smelling the “Flower Thief’s” Cold Plum pheromones, Xiao Yun’an slapped his own forehead in frustration and pushed Ye Wuyou away.
I’ve actually treated Ye Mian like a bird in the harem again.
The bed that appeared just by thinking of it, and the secret way Ye Wuyou’s formal robes had been swapped for a single outer robe Xiao Yun’an realized that within his own dream, he could do whatever he wanted to Ye Mian.
He wondered if it was because the Flower Thief had injected a massive amount of pheromones into his gland; a mere temporary marking that was about to fade had actually caused the Ye Mian in his dreams to always be covered in Cold Plum scent…
Fine… if it’s Cold Plum, let it be Cold Plum. At least it allows Minister Ye to briefly transform into a Kun-ze (Omega)…
With a trace of hope, Xiao Yun’an brushed aside the hair at the nape of Ye Wuyou’s neck. Seeing the Omega gland that had suddenly appeared there, his gaze flickered. Unable to restrain himself, he licked his restless fangs.
He leaned down, bit through the skin, and injected his pheromones.
As his sensitive gland was bitten by his Alpha once more, Ye Wuyou’s pupils contracted, and his gaze gradually lost focus.
Pregnant as he was, Ye Wuyou unconsciously pressed Xiao Yun’an’s hand against his lower abdomen. Even though it was a dream, once his body received a sufficient amount of his Alpha’s pheromones, his maternal instincts wanted to share the good news with the child’s father.
Xiao Yun’an narrowed his eyes and moved his palm down another three inches.
Clearly, he had misinterpreted the gesture.
…
The entanglement lasted for an unknown amount of time. Ye Wuyou’s pheromones were nearly squeezed dry, and his gland was covered in four or five bite marks. He reached out to push Xiao Yun’an away, crying and pleading with red eyes: “Your Majesty! Your Majesty! I don’t want any more punishment… I beg you to stop!”
Those indistinct murmurs drifted into the military doctor’s ears.
The doctor had already removed all the needles from Ye Wuyou and had covered the General who had been tortured by the barbarian incense with a thick quilt. He could vaguely make out that Ye Wuyou seemed to be calling for the Emperor. The General, who had been exhausted all night, didn’t look well; the deep furrow in his brow hadn’t relaxed once since he fell asleep.
“Sigh, the General isn’t even peaceful in his dreams. He’s always worrying about the war and apologizing to the Sovereign.”
With that, the doctor tucked in the corners of Ye Wuyou’s quilt and left the tent to check on the other wounded soldiers. If the General won’t cherish his own body, I’ll just stay out of sight so I don’t get irritated.
Ye Wuyou slept all the way until the next morning. When he opened his eyes, his expression was still a bit dazed.
The scenes in the dream were too frantic; he had nearly been “claimed” by the Emperor in the dream. He had purposely cried and begged for mercy just to make the Emperor hesitate.
Tsk, His Majesty is still too easy to fool. Perhaps next time I should dream of a smarter Xiao Yun’an.
Ye Wuyou sat up. He had smelled a room full of medicinal fragrance since he woke; after inhaling it, his physical fatigue had vanished. He turned to look and saw a stove nearby warming some medicine. Only then did he realize he was still in the doctor’s tent. Recalling last night’s dream, he stiffened his body and cautiously lifted the quilt to take a peek.
Whew—
Fortunately!
He wasn’t sure if it was because of the “paralysis” needles yesterday, but everything beneath the quilt was clean and fresh, without a single trace of what “should” have been there.
More surprisingly, Ye Wuyou sensed that the pheromones on his body had stabilized again. They were no longer like yesterday, surging out uncontrollably at the slightest movement. He reached up to touch the slightly swollen gland on the back of his neck, trying to retract his scent.
Immediately, the scent of Green Bamboo and Cold Plum in the air vanished without a trace.
Ye Wuyou looked up in delight, though a tiny bit of scent leaked out again along with his excitement.
Ah! It turns out all I need to do to get through heat is to have an “intimate” dream with His Majesty!
If he had known it was this simple, he wouldn’t have risked deceiving the Sovereign. Now, after his “ride,” there was a “little tag-along” in his belly constantly hindering his military operations.
Ye Wuyou covered his abdomen, feigning a dramatic resentment toward the child. He had already been changed into clean inner robes, and the wound on his arm had been treated. He prepared to get out of bed, but just as he swung one leg out, he came face-to-face with the doctor lifting the tent flap.
Ye Wuyou guiltily pulled his foot back.
“The General is awake.” Under Ye Wuyou’s “training,” the doctor had become an expert at playing blind. He pretended not to see the General’s little movement and went straight for Ye Wuyou’s wrist.
Ye Wuyou obediently placed his hand on the pulse pillow. After a good sleep, his lower abdomen felt nothing at all. He stared at the doctor nervously: “How is he?”
The doctor remained silent. He took the pulse again, his expression becoming very strange.
Ye Wuyou’s body is truly a miracle. After sleeping for a day and a night, his pulse had become peaceful again; it felt almost the same as when he had first returned from kidnapping the Alpha.
“Can I get out of bed now?” Fearing something was wrong with the child, Ye Wuyou didn’t dare move since the doctor hadn’t spoken. He had slept for too long; sitting up now, his legs felt numb, almost like they were about to cramp…
“No,” the doctor said sternly, then hurried out of the tent.
To be more comfortable, Ye Wuyou had no choice but to lie back down. A moment later, the doctor returned with a bowl of light porridge and side dishes.
“Eat.” The doctor barked another single word.
Ye Wuyou took the bowl. The porridge seemed to have some medicinal herbs in it, making it exceptionally appetizing. He finished it in no time. The doctor quickly cleared the dishes and brought a bowl of steaming herbal medicine.
“Drink.” Still just one word.
Ye Wuyou gave the doctor several strange looks. After confirming it was still the same person, he took the bowl, pinched his nose, and drank it all. After he handed back the bowl, the doctor finally seemed to break his “seal” and opened his mouth.
The doctor asked excitedly: “The General is doing much better. I wonder who this ‘Steamed Bun Alpha’ you pine for is?”
Ye Wuyou shrank his neck, saying warily: “Why do you ask?”
The doctor became more excited as he spoke: “Your Alpha! He is of top-tier quality, and his essence is superior. That is why the child you conceived is exceptionally healthy; the General will suffer much less because of it.”
Ye Wuyou’s brow furrowed, and he pouted unhappily. “Quality? Why do you make it sound like you’re picking a breeding stud…”
To talk about His Majesty that way… how rude!
“I only mean to say the General found a good Alpha.” The doctor’s eyes were practically glowing.
That’s the Emperor! Of course he’s good!
When someone is suddenly so kind, they must have a hidden motive. Seeing the doctor’s drastic change in attitude, Ye Wuyou became wary again: “Just say what you want to ask!”
“Once the war subsides, could the General introduce your Alpha so I may take his pulse?” The doctor was truly curious about what kind of “divine being” Ye Wuyou had found.
Ye Wuyou replied without thinking: “I’m afraid that won’t be possible.”
Doctor: “Why?”
Ye Wuyou rubbed his nose guiltily, feigning embarrassment: “…You know, I ran away right after sleeping with him and left him in a brothel. I haven’t had a chance to coax him back yet.”
Doctor: “…”
With Ye Wuyou acting this coy, there’s bound to be a bad omen.
Meanwhile, far away in the Imperial City, Xiao Yun’an sneezed three times in a row.
