The Film Queen’s Little Bunny Wife - Chapter 12
As it happened, Ling Hanyan was also shooting an outdoor scene in the mountains, and it would take less than half an hour to drive there. Counting it up, the distance between the two of them was much closer than before.
Upon hearing this news, Tu Jiaojiao was very happy. She timed her arrival perfectly at the agreed upon location.
Holding her phone, she messaged Ling Hanyan: [Yanyan, I’m at the entrance. Waiting for you under a tree that is blooming. It’s the only tree in bloom, you’ll see it when you arrive.]
Ling Hanyan’s spirit lifted when she received the message. The atmosphere on the set had been poor these past few days, and a little outing with her fan to change her mood would be a good thing.
She immediately went to ask the director for leave.
Director Li saw that she had already removed her makeup and knew she had planned this in advance. In the past, he would have definitely lost his temper.
But with what had just happened, whether the movie could continue filming was questionable, and compared to that, the female lead trying to escape was a minor issue.
It was embarrassing to admit that due to poor preliminary research and encountering unscrupulous people, the capital investor had now withdrawn, and the film’s funding chain was broken.
Director Li thought that with his years of connections, perhaps eating a few dinners and soliciting some funds might remedy the situation, so he hadn’t told everyone yet.
Therefore, Ling Hanyan couldn’t be blamed for being kept in the dark.
He sighed and didn’t expose her, grumbling, “A friend is visiting you? At a time like this, you still have the leisure, but since they’re here, go ahead.”
As Ling Hanyan walked away, he shouted an addition, “Remember not to bring them into the set area.”
The scenery on the mountain was built by the props team combined with the terrain, but its confidentiality was much worse than a proper studio. He didn’t want the shooting location to be exposed before the movie even had a promotional campaign.
It would be difficult to manage if a large crowd came to watch.
Ling Hanyan naturally understood the intricacies involved. She gave him an OK gesture with her hand.
Dressed in a clean, sharp shirt and jeans, wearing a baseball cap and a cross-body bag, she didn’t look like a celebrity at all as she walked away without looking back.
The weather was decent today, but the thick, layered white mist in the mountains still clung strongly to the mountainside. Birds chirped lightly, pausing and resting on the various treetops.
This is our first official date, figuratively speaking.
Tu Jiaojiao stood beside Ling Hanyan, turning her head to trace the soft lines of her profile with her eyes, a sweet feeling in her heart.
Perhaps beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but no matter what Ling Hanyan wore, Tu Jiaojiao found her pleasing to the eye.
Even in the most common clothes, the kind you could find eight people wearing on the street with one hand, she still felt that Ling Hanyan was truly beautiful and possessed an exceptional aura!
Look, a white shirt! Jeans! So cool and domineering!
The two walked down the winding mountain road, chatting aimlessly, planning to go to the small town at the foot of the mountain for a stroll.
Ling Hanyan was half a head taller than Tu Jiaojiao, and her stride should have been larger, but she consciously controlled it so that their paces always matched.
As they walked, Ling Hanyan’s shoelace came undone. Tu Jiaojiao instinctively reached out to tie it for her, but the latter retreated in surprise, strongly stating that she would handle her own matters!
When she stood back up, Ling Hanyan noticed Tu Jiaojiao, who looked so frail that a gust of wind might blow her away, and frowned.
“Did you not eat well when you were busy a while ago? I think you look a little thin.”
“I haven’t lost weight!” The rabbit form’s fur is very long, so she actually became rounder.
Just now, Tu Jiaojiao was doing all the asking, and Ling Hanyan gave selective answers.
Now that Ling Hanyan was showing interest in her, Tu Jiaojiao was very excited.
She twirled around, her skirt billowed up by the wind, forming a beautiful umbrella shape: “Maybe the skirt I wore last time had fluff, which made me look a little fatter.”
“Then you are more suited to that skirt.” Hearing her say that, Ling Hanyan also remembered the skirt with the small white pompoms. It was indeed very cute.
Tu Jiaojiao nervously wrung her hands, “Doesn’t this one look good?”
This outfit is one that she carefully chose for several hours!
“No, it’s not that.” Ling Hanyan hadn’t expected Tu Jiaojiao to take such a minor comment to heart. She chuckled lightly, “I just think you’re too thin.” I feel like I could pick her up in one arm.
“Oh…” Tu Jiaojiao nodded repeatedly, but she had no plans to gain weight.
A few days ago, she finally managed to coax her older sister into transforming into her rabbit form for her to see, and she was saddened to find that her sister’s body was actually a size smaller than hers!
With the grey rabbit and the white rabbit squeezed together, the white rabbit looked more like the older sister!
Tu Jiaojiao’s eyes kept wanting to look at Ling Hanyan’s face. She felt like she was a rabbit made of iron, and Ling Hanyan was a large magnet, making her uncontrollably want to get closer.
“Has the filming been smooth these past few days?” she asked, pulling her gaze back.
Ling Hanyan thought for a moment, “I can’t say for sure. I always feel like the atmosphere is strange. But I haven’t asked what’s going on.”
Her personality had always been like this she was an actress, so she wouldn’t pay attention to the gossip that tabloid reporters cared about.
There was once a movie where she played the second female lead, and everyone with eyes in the crew could tell the male and female leads had gotten together, but she genuinely didn’t notice.
When promoting the movie on a variety show, the host asked leading questions.
Ling Hanyan calmly stated that they were just ordinary friends. Because her eyes were clear and her expression was firm, everyone who watched the show felt the two leads must be innocent.
After all, the second female lead had spent so many days with the leads; if something was truly going on, she would definitely be flustered, and her eyes would betray her true feelings.
But Ling Hanyan’s expression was too natural, so everyone believed her.
However, less than a month later, the two officially announced their relationship. Clarifying they had no relationship one moment, and holding hands and being sweet the next, caught everyone off guard.
They even made it to the trending topics because of this, with hashtags like
#LingHanyanOrdinaryFriends and
#LingHanyanActingSkills.
The movie production gained a lot of free traffic and praised Ling Hanyan profusely.
The host, however, suffered a major loss of face, and since then, no one has asked Ling Hanyan for gossip.
They all thought this woman was an incredible actress, and they couldn’t get any real gossip from her, little did they know she was genuinely oblivious…
The small town at the foot of the mountain, coincidentally, was holding a large market today. Both sides of the road were filled with all kinds of fruits, vegetables, mountain goods, clothes, shoes, plastic toys, hardware fittings, and many other strange things, full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
There were many people strolling through the market, including quite a few young people dressed in fashionable, modern clothes, so the two of them didn’t stand out among the crowd.
As they passed a small stall selling livestock, Tu Jiaojiao felt a little afraid seeing the proud and majestic rooster. She quickened her pace but found that Ling Hanyan hadn’t kept up.
She had actually stopped in front of the stall!
Tu Jiaojiao bit her lower lip and walked over, seeing Ling Hanyan’s gaze fixed on two meat rabbits huddled in a metal cage.
This gaze was completely different from her usual detached and calm demeanor, it seemed full of warmth and interest.
Noticing Tu Jiaojiao walking back, she excitedly beckoned her to come over quickly: “Jiaojiao, look how cute these little rabbits are!”
