The Film Empress White Moonlight Wants To Be A Salted Fish - Chapter 57
Lu Yiran saw the two people in front of her laughing and talking. The surrounding scenery began to change, and Lu Yiran stood in front of them as if watching a movie. The two of them consistently seemed not to see her, and then they got up, held hands, and left.
Watching them leave, Lu Yiran sat down in the place they had just been sitting and looked at the scenery they had been looking at. But she couldn’t see anything; it seemed only those two people could see it.
Before long, Lu Yiran saw Wen Shiyan walking towards her, but Wen Shiyan was alone.
Wen Shiyan sat down beside her, her demeanor completely different from the one Lu Yiran had just witnessed.
“Yiran…”
Wen Shiyan suddenly spoke, and Lu Yiran thought she could see her. She asked Wen Shiyan in a slight panic, “Can you see me?”
Wen Shiyan looked down at the ground with dim, lifeless eyes and murmured, “How can I find you?”
Lu Yiran realized then that Wen Shiyan couldn’t see her. Lu Yiran’s hand tentatively reached out, trying to touch her body, but the Wen Shiyan in front of her quickly dissipated.
Lu Yiran’s hand passed through the air. She froze for a moment, put down her hand, and stood up.
After a week in the hospital, Lu Yiran was discharged as her body had no issues.
Lu Yiran put on her clothes and silently looked out the window. Wen Shiyan came over and tugged at her sleeve. Lu Yiran glanced at her and followed her out of the ward.
Before they even left the hospital, they saw reporters staking out the parking lot. Upon seeing them, Wen Shiyan put a hat and a scarf on Lu Yiran.
Wen Shiyan stepped aside to call Xiao Yu, whispering, “Sister Xiao Yu, how could they be here? Didn’t you say no one knew about Yiran’s hospitalization?”
After speaking, Wen Shiyan looked at Lu Yiran, who was standing still, and, reassured, continued to talk to Xiao Yu.
“Someone deliberately leaked the news. You take her and force your way out. I’ll drive the car toward you right away.”
Hanging up the phone, Wen Shiyan put away her phone and looked at Lu Yiran. This was the only way.
“I’ll have the bodyguards stop them. Then you take Ranran home,” Lu Chiqiu said. The bodyguards around her surrounded the few of them and walked toward the hospital exit.
Seeing people come out, a group of reporters quickly swarmed them. The bodyguards blocked them, and Wen Shiyan took Lu Yiran’s hand, preparing to leave the crowd.
“Miss Lu! Why were you kidnapped?”
“Miss Lu, Miss Lu, what did that person do to you?”
“Miss Lu, please say something.”
“Miss Lu, would you please cooperate with our work?”
Lu Yiran’s forehead broke out in a cold sweat upon hearing this, and her face looked terrible, but the reporters continued to chatter, asking questions that triggered the victim. Lu Yiran tightly clutched Wen Shiyan’s clothes. Wen Shiyan looked at the people in front of her with disgust and pushed away the microphones getting too close.
“Hey, Wen Shiyan, how can you use force?”
“Exactly, exactly! Film Empress Wen is acting like a diva! Quick, quick, post it on Weibo!”
“Hahaha! I finally got a piece of dirt on you!”
Tightening her grip on Lu Yiran’s hand and looking at the crowd who would ask such questions just for traffic, Wen Shiyan’s lips trembled with anger.
“Let’s go.” Wen Shiyan shielded the trembling Lu Yiran in her arms. Just then, Xiao Yu’s car arrived. Wen Shiyan helped Lu Yiran into the car first before getting in herself. The reporters chased their car out of the hospital, but they couldn’t outrun the vehicle. In the end, they could only watch them leave with longing eyes.
Lu Yiran leaned silently in Wen Shiyan’s arms. What Wen Shiyan feared most now was Lu Yiran’s silence. She squeezed Lu Yiran’s fingertips, but Lu Yiran remained motionless.
Back at the apartment complex, Xiao Yu left as she had other things to attend to. Wen Shiyan held Lu Yiran’s hand and went upstairs.
Upon arriving home, Lu Yiran followed Wen Shiyan wherever she went. Wen Shiyan had no choice but to stop and sit down with Lu Yiran on the sofa.
Looking at Lu Yiran’s slender wrist, Wen Shiyan heartbreakingly covered it with her hand.
Lu Yiran suddenly got up, startling Wen Shiyan. Without a word, Lu Yiran went into Wen Shiyan’s bedroom and lay down on Wen Shiyan’s unmade bed. The clothes on the bed were ones Wen Shiyan was preparing to put away, and now they were all pressed underneath Lu Yiran.
Seeing Lu Yiran asleep, Wen Shiyan smiled helplessly. She covered Lu Yiran with a blanket and sat beside her to keep her company.
Lu Yiran woke up after dark. She sat up and looked at Wen Shiyan with a puzzled expression.
Hearing the movement behind her, Wen Shiyan put down the item in her hand and looked at Lu Yiran. Their eyes met, and Lu Yiran quickly averted her gaze.
“Are you hungry?” Wen Shiyan got up and asked Lu Yiran. Lu Yiran thought for a moment and nodded at Wen Shiyan.
“Alright, I’ll go make dinner then.” Wen Shiyan said, putting down the item and leaving.
After Wen Shiyan left, Lu Yiran saw the item Wen Shiyan had put down. She took the pendant in her hand; it was the same style as the one Wen Shiyan had given her. The only difference was that the one in her hand was broken.
Hearing footsteps approaching, Lu Yiran quickly put down the pendant. Wen Shiyan entered the bedroom and saw Lu Yiran still sitting on the bed without moving. She walked over and picked up the pendant.
Wen Shiyan sat down and gently stroked Lu Yiran’s head. Lu Yiran closed her eyes, feeling a sense of peace.
Looking at Lu Yiran, Wen Shiyan knew she was still afraid of what had happened before. Although Qin Mo had been arrested, Wen Shiyan was still a little uneasy; she always felt that Qin Mo knew something, just like her.
All the spoons in the house had been thrown away by Wen Shiyan in advance. At the dining table, Lu Yiran awkwardly held her chopsticks.
It wasn’t that she didn’t know how to use them, but for some reason, her hand just couldn’t exert any strength. Lu Yiran annoyingly tried to pick up a vegetable. When she saw the food drop onto the table, Lu Yiran immediately put down her chopsticks and folded her arms, sulking.
Wen Shiyan couldn’t help but find Lu Yiran’s pouting look a little cute. She picked up a piece of broccoli and held it close to Lu Yiran’s mouth, smiling as she looked at her.
“I don’t want it,” Lu Yiran said, frowning.
“Then how about candy?” Wen Shiyan said, taking out a piece of candy, peeling off the wrapper, and holding it close to Lu Yiran’s mouth.
After Wen Shiyan spoke, Lu Yiran looked at the candy, hesitated, and then lowered her head and ate it.
Her fingertip was touched by a soft, warm tongue, and Wen Shiyan blushed, withdrawing her hand.
Lu Yiran didn’t notice Wen Shiyan’s unnaturalness. After finishing the meal, she returned to Wen Shiyan’s bedroom.
Wen Shiyan didn’t say anything. She went to the kitchen to put the bowls in the dishwasher and then went to accompany Lu Yiran.
No phone and no TV to watch. Lu Yiran covered herself with the blanket, feeling bored. Seeing Wen Shiyan come in, Lu Yiran lay on the bed sullenly.
Wen Shiyan came to the bedside, squatted down, and asked Lu Yiran softly, “Do you want to go out for a walk?”
After Wen Shiyan spoke, Lu Yiran turned over so she wasn’t facing Wen Shiyan. “No.”
Wen Shiyan was not unhappy about being rejected by Lu Yiran; instead, she was very happy that Lu Yiran had talked so much to her today. Although Lu Yiran had refused her, being able to express her own wishes was a change Wen Shiyan was already very satisfied with.
“Come on, let’s go take a bath,” Wen Shiyan said, pulling Lu Yiran up. Lu Yiran was stunned upon hearing this.
Seeing Lu Yiran look at her with an incredulous expression, Wen Shiyan smiled. “I’ll help you wash your hair. You can call me when you’re almost done washing up.”
After Wen Shiyan spoke, Lu Yiran quickly went into the bathroom, afraid that Wen Shiyan would go in right away.
Watching Lu Yiran’s fleeing back, Wen Shiyan glanced at the change of clothes she had left behind.
Although Wen Shiyan said to have Lu Yiran call her later, she knew it was impossible for Lu Yiran to call her. Assuming Lu Yiran was nearly done, Wen Shiyan picked up Lu Yiran’s change of clothes and knocked on the bathroom door.
Hearing the knock, Lu Yiran quickly shielded herself with her arms.
“You forgot your clothes. I’m coming in,” Wen Shiyan said, entering the bathroom. Lu Yiran realized she had indeed forgotten to bring a change of clothes.
Water dripped into the bathtub, causing ripples. Feeling Wen Shiyan standing behind her, Lu Yiran nervously looked at the water’s surface.
Wen Shiyan unbuttoned a few buttons of her shirt and helped Lu Yiran wash her hair. With her head down, Lu Yiran’s earlobes were burning red. Wen Shiyan noticed but didn’t say anything. After helping Lu Yiran wash her hair, she massaged her shoulders.
A tingling sensation spread across her skin, and Lu Yiran blushed, pinching her fingertips. Finally unable to bear it, Lu Yiran turned around and held down Wen Shiyan’s hands.
“No, no need…”
Lu Yiran panted, her eyes slightly red at the corners. Wen Shiyan saw this, and a hint of desire appeared in her eyes. She stood up and stepped into the bathtub. Seeing this, Lu Yiran sensed danger and quickly backed up toward the end of the tub.
Water soaked the clothes on her body, the fabric clinging tightly. Wen Shiyan squeezed her leg between Lu Yiran’s, looking at Lu Yiran in a very intimate and ambiguous posture.
Their bodies pressed close together. Wen Shiyan’s fingertip lightly brushed Lu Yiran’s skin. This contact made her whole body tingle, and her heartbeat involuntarily quickened.
Their breaths mingled. Seeing the loose clothing revealing large expanses of her fair skin, Lu Yiran’s face flushed, and she dared not look down. She shifted her gaze. This reminded her of the dream she had before…
“Yiran, do you like me?” Wen Shiyan said, pulling Lu Yiran’s hand to her chest and pressing it there. Lu Yiran was startled. She looked at Wen Shiyan, and in almost an instant, a blush spread from her cheeks all the way down to her neck.
“No, I…”
Lu Yiran couldn’t bring herself to say anything against her heart. She lowered her head and stammered that she liked her.
Wen Shiyan was overjoyed to hear this. Her voice trembling, she held Lu Yiran’s hand. “Yiran, may I kiss you?”
Lu Yiran hadn’t expected Wen Shiyan to ask such a question. She didn’t answer but closed her eyes, obediently waiting for Wen Shiyan to kiss her.
A sudden softness touched her lips, slightly moist, but it broke apart instantly.
After being kissed, Lu Yiran slowly came to her senses, dumbly touching her lips. Seeing Wen Shiyan looking at her, she shyly hugged Wen Shiyan, burying her head in her neck.
The water had become a little cold. Fearing Lu Yiran would catch a cold, Wen Shiyan picked her up horizontally. Lu Yiran quickly held onto Wen Shiyan, afraid of falling.
After getting out, Wen Shiyan placed Lu Yiran on the bed and wrapped her in a bath towel. Lu Yiran had initially thought Wen Shiyan might do something to her, but seeing that Wen Shiyan was only helping her dry her hair and body, she felt even more self-conscious.
