The Female Regent’s Daily Guide to Spoiling Her Wife - Chapter 48
Sun Huan descended the stairs gracefully, holding a wine cup, followed by a servant carrying a jade wine pot.
Seeing Sun Huan come down, the crowd rushed to greet him. “My lord, where are you heading?”
Sun Huan waved his hand dismissively and walked expressionlessly to Lu Zhao’s side, displeased. “Are you the outsider who bullied my brother?” His tone carried a strong sense of intimidation.
Lu Zhao stood up calmly and confidently. With an elegant and refined appearance, her eyes held a hint of intoxication as she rose, giving off an air of unrestrained charm.
Lu Zhao cupped her hands respectfully and said, “Lord County Magistrate, I am the head of the Wu family from Lingxi. I have just arrived in Changzhou and may have caused offense. I hope you will be magnanimous.”
As she spoke, Lu Zhao leaned in close to his ear and whispered, “I came here to discuss a business opportunity with you, Lord Sun. I will pay you a personal visit another day. I hope you won’t refuse.”
Her Lingxi accent was so convincing it was hard to tell whether it was genuine, as if she truly were a merchant from Lingxi.
Sun Huan narrowed his eyes and studied the young person before him. Could it really be such a coincidence? The regent had said he would come, and now this merchant from Lingxi had arrived. However, Lu Zhao and her companions were all dressed in luxurious attire, exuding an extraordinary aura, and their accents seemed authentic.
Sun Huan waved to the servant behind him, who immediately stepped forward and filled his wine cup. The servant then turned and filled Lu Zhao’s cup as well.
Yunxia, watching from the side, noticed clearly that when the servant poured wine for Lu Zhao, he subtly pressed the lid of the wine pot. Anxious, she leaned softly into Lu Zhao’s embrace and said in a coquettish tone, “Sister, please don’t drink anymore! A spring night is worth a thousand pieces of gold!”
Sun Huan frowned and glanced at the woman in Lu Zhao’s arms. This woman was quite unruly, though her looks were captivating. He reprimanded her sternly, “Why is the person by Master Wu’s side so ill-mannered?”
Lu Zhao clasped Yunxia’s hand in her own, giving it a reassuring squeeze, and laughed. “My apologies for the embarrassment, Lord Sun. I will discipline her properly when we return!” With that, she raised her wine cup and drank it all in one go.
Seeing Lu Zhao’s unreserved boldness, Sun Huan’s expression softened. “Master Wu is indeed straightforward. However, it’s hardly appropriate for you to seek me out so soon after arriving in Changzhou. As long as you conduct your business properly here, I will naturally seek you out!”
The wine he had given her contained a drug that would make even the most strong-willed person unable to resist speaking their mind. He would send someone later to test her!
Wen Yuan stepped forward discreetly to support Lu Zhao, but Lu Zhao waved her off and whispered, “It’s fine.”
Lu Zhao feigned drunkenness, her cheeks flushed red, and she leaned heavily on Yunxia, nuzzling her neck frivolously. “Xiaxia, let’s go back to our room.”
Sun Huan laughed heartily. “Good! Good! Good! Then I won’t disturb Master Wu any further!”
Wen Yuan cupped her hands toward Sun Huan and quickly supported Lu Zhao. “Lord Sun, we will pay you a visit another day!”
Sun Huan nodded and walked out. Once he boarded his carriage, he instructed his attendant, “Go and investigate the Wu family from Lingxi. Find out if the eldest daughter is truly in charge. Report back to me as soon as you have the details! Also, send someone to keep an eye on Master Wu tonight. See what she says after getting drunk and report every word to me without missing a single detail!”
Sun Huan leaned back in the carriage and closed his eyes. The noble from Yindu had written that the regent would soon arrive in Changzhou. Could this Wu Ziyun be connected to the regent?
Sun Huan rubbed his temples, thinking wearily. Ah, in the blink of an eye, the year-end is approaching, and it’s time to curry favor with the nobles in Yin Capital. And just at this moment, the Regent arrives. If it really is Wu Ziyun from the wealthy families of Lingxi, that would be perfect a fat lamb delivered right to my doorstep. It would be a waste not to take advantage!
After Sun Huan left, Lu Zhao still appeared utterly drunk and unconscious. Yunxia helped her into the room, and as soon as they entered, Lu Zhao’s scorching breath enveloped her.
Lu Zhao’s eyes glanced briefly outside as her slender fingers pressed against Yunxia’s crimson lips. Feigning a wanton tone, she said, “Xiaxia, from now on, I’ll settle you in Changzhou. No one will dare say anything to you again.”
Yunxia knew she was speaking for the ears outside the door. Wrapping her legs around Lu Zhao’s waist, she gave a seductive, silken laugh and said, “Sister, are you planning to hide a beauty in a golden house?”
With a deep, unreadable gaze, Lu Zhao subtly pulled Yunxia entirely into her embrace, shielding her from any outside view. In a teasing tone, she remarked, “If Lingxi can’t tolerate us, surely Changzhou should be able to, right?”
Pressed so closely together, Yunxia could feel the startling heat radiating from Lu Zhao’s body. Flustered, she clung to Lu Zhao, her misty eyes shimmering with myriad emotions.
Lu Zhao lowered her head and kissed Yunxia’s clear, beautiful fox-like eyes, then trailed her lips down to the softness of her mouth, repeatedly pressing against the corners. Her hand slipped deftly into Yunxia’s inner robe, seeking out her softness and eliciting a shiver that nearly drew a seductive moan from her.
Tightening her arms, Lu Zhao leaned close to Yunxia’s ear and whispered, “Xiaxia, you can let it out.”
The low, husky voice sent a flush to Yunxia’s cheeks, and her heart raced uncontrollably. How could this person become so wanton after drinking!
Lu Zhao lay softly against Yunxia, nuzzling her neck and murmuring incessantly, “Xiaxia… I only like you.”
Yunxia could no longer tell whether Lu Zhao was acting or truly drunk. She could only hold her shoulders and soothe her gently, “Sister, I’m here, I’m here.”
Lu Zhao’s eyes were slightly red, as if she were struggling to hold back something. Sun Huan’s liquor was extremely strong. Although Lu Zhao had been cautious and hadn’t drunk it all, even that small amount was enough to break an ordinary person’s will.
Yunxia placed her cool little hand on Lu Zhao’s forehead, alarmed by the intense heat in her palm. Feeling the slight coolness, Lu Zhao let out a comfortable sigh, “Mmm.”
Yunxia’s soft hands fumbled clumsily with the waistband, trying several times to undo it, but her trembling made it impossible to succeed.
Lu Zhao chuckled softly, guiding Yunxia’s small hand to unbutton each fastener one by one, finally reaching the intricate waistband.
With a “click!”, the waistband fell to the floor. Lu Zhao’s robes loosened, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, her eyes red-rimmed, giving her a more bewitching aura than usual.
Yunxia stared at her, mesmerized. Her eyes traced the contours of Lu Zhao’s brows and eyes those deep, dark pupils fixed on her with such intensity, as if she were the entire world. Yunxia could only hear the pounding of her own heart, utterly captivated by Lu Zhao’s beauty. How could someone be born so exquisitely!
The candle in the room suddenly went out. Lu Zhao carried Yunxia step by step toward the bed, her gaze burning so intensely it seemed as though she wanted to devour her.
The night was enchanting, with only soft sobs tugging at the heartstrings in the quiet darkness. Yunxia felt like a small boat adrift, rising and falling in the water, her body so weak it no longer seemed her own. Only by pressing closer to Luzhao could she find more pleasure.
Outside, the eavesdropper slipped silently into the shadows and chuckled softly, “The head of the Lingxi Wu family is quite the romantic, isn’t he?”
